Simon and his crew are straight-forward people who know their trade, do their job, and are clearly very on demand. They're also friendly and sweet and super helpful. Our dishwasher stopped draining, the compressor on our fridge started going, one of the burners on the stove stopped working, and something had happened to the rubber on the dryer door. Lots of things to do in one go! Simon got here on time both visit (one to see what was going on and order parts, and one to get the work done). When it was time to repair the appliances, they did it quickly and efficiently. They were also very warm when I asked for advice and guidance to keep my appliances maintained. Terrible experience with this company. If I could give zero stars, I would. Their service is horrible, and they blatantly lie to their customers. We contacted them through our home warranty to fix our freezer's ice machine. Simon, the technician, came out and said he needed to order a part. Fine, no problem. Then he told us the part was on backorder and wouldn't be available for four months. I figured we could wait--after all, it's just an ice machine. Two months after his visit, I called to check in on the part. Simon adamantly claimed it was still on backorder and said he had six other customers waiting on the exact same part. He made it seem like it was some massive supply chain issue. I decided to wait it out. Four months later, I called again, and this time Simon gave me even worse excuses. Now he said the part was still on backorder because they "don't make parts for our fridge anymore" (which is completely false--they do). Then he tried to claim some random California law was preventing the part from being shipped (also a lie). He told me it'd be another month. As if that wasn't bad enough, Simon then told me I needed to call the home warranty company to have him come out again. But here's the kicker: because it had been more than three months since the original request, he said I'd have to pay another service fee. Does he think I'm an idiot? Why would I pay the fee again for the same unresolved issue? At this point, I called the home warranty company. Turns out Simon reported that the part had been ordered and the repair was finished just a couple weeks after his first visit. They never ordered the part, never planned to fix it, and clearly scammed the warranty company. Even if you're paying out of pocket, avoid this company at all costs. If they'll scam a home warranty, they'll scam you too. They'll lie, cut corners, and make excuses until you're fed up. Do yourself a favor and find a company that's honest and reliable. I have an older a double oven that the bottom oven didn't work, top was fine. They diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and installed it. Now both ovens work perfectly! If I could give minus star I will give. They came as American Home Shield home warranty assigned technician for my refrigerator (a GE profile that stopped cooling). Technician mentioned they'll send a report to AHS. Fast forward 2 weeks - no response. We call AHS, AHS says the paperwork was insufficient. We call Simon, they call Simon. Simon submitted missing documents or reports. After they got approval, they ordered parts - the manager Anna A. Flat out lied she ordered expedited shipping. Nope. The shipment took its sweet time. By then we are three weeks out without a refrigerator in this years 100F summer. Then the technician came, did not fix the issue. Again raised a ticket through AHS because guess what Simon was not even picking up our phone anymore. The technician comes out again, replaces one more part, that did not fix the issue. Advises ti defrost even though they are supposed to defrost. Frustrated I got a second opinion. Voila - the Simon technician did not put the right fix in. One part still missing. So now we will be out of refrigerator for few more weeks. We promised to ourselves never Simon for us or any of our friends. We will get someone else to fix the refrigerator. We are so frustrated with their response and lack of competence that seriously considering taking them to small claims court and will definitely report to Better Business Bureau. read more

Problem with refrigerator maintaining temperatures that another company had been unable to find or repair after 7 visits. Simon Appliance came out on a Sunday. They were right on time. Very efficient and professional. Wore floor protection booties without being asked to (other company did not even have them). Based on their questions and my answers and examining the refrigerator, they were able to diagnose and repair the issue on the first visit. 24 hours after they were here everything working perfectly and holding appropriate temperature. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SIMON APPLIANCE AND WILL CERTAINLY USE THEM AGAIN FOR ANY FUTURE NEEDS. read more

This company is unreal: across the board complete SCAM. They failed to respond to any text and phone inquiry after accepting service fee from my home warranty program, but would not relinquish the fee, so that I could obtain another vendor when they failed to honor the commitment. I am not referring to one or two requests--but multiple efforts to make an appt then finally..... after several attempts they make an appt then cancel after my taking off work. I requested they allow me to obtain another vendor ....still no response....finally they come out, here for 90 seconds, (yes, 90 seconds per the individual I had to PAY the second time because I couldn't take another day off for these clowns) Shocker: they leave the washer UNRESOLVED then state it's miraculously "fixed" despite not observing the broken control panel--- Don't worry it gets better....I go to use it, upon this sage advice: not only does it (continue) to FAIL to function, this time, I am lucky enough my wet clothes are "locked" into the washer, and despite tripping breaker, it won't release. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I am planning on filing with BBB and potential litigation for bad faith. To say I wish I had known they lacked integrity would be a vast understatement...absolutely deplorable ***** and it's WHEN not IF they are go out of business Fun update: subsequent to my experience, I come to find out others I know have used them, and same scenario and are, now motivated to address continued bad faith contracts. Fraudulent misrepresentation, falsifying reports to my home warranty company, and further damaging my oven. Fidelity National Home Warranty hired Simon Appliance to repair my oven, because they claimed to be a certified specialist. I later confirmed with the manufacturer that they are not an approved vendor. The technician left my oven in worse condition than when he found it. We started receiving new error codes because he did not re-install the doors correctly. The technician was supposed to order replacement parts, but claimed that they are no longer carried in stock. He put this in his report to my home warranty company and closed our service request. I confirmed with the manufacturer that these parts are readily available with multiple distributors. Scratched my floor while moving the refrigerator. 2. Asked me to put a fan behind it to "solve the issue" because he thought the fan of the refrigerator was not working. 3. Didn't even looked at the dryer, said it was the vent and to contact the HOA. End of the story: tried to call to know when the refrigerator was going to be fixed week after (he mentioned he was going to come back in 2-3 days) and verify the dryer again (HOA said was all good) and no answer. If I was going to wait, I would be 1 month and 1 week without responses, refrigerator not working properly and unable to wash my clothes. I'm in the phone right now with Fidelity National - Home Warranty, and as per the other comments, nothing will be solved (oh, at the moment, 45 minutes waiting in the line...). I'm glad I decided to buy on the 3rd day I was waiting for the solution a new refrigerator and dryer... So: try to avoid Simon Appliance and Fidelity National - Home Warranty. Both terrible! Dishonest crooks! I found Simon Appliance through LG's website as an authorized repair facility. I called them and said that my fridge was broken & still under warranty. They said I should still schedule a visit to diagnose. After they came, they charged me a $120 diagnostics fee. Then said my fridge was still under warranty and I could call LG to get my fridge repaired for free. Seriously? If they knew I was still under warranty (which I said on the phonecall), why not tell me that instead of charge me $120 to tell me what I already knew? I'm going to reach out to LG about this. Found Simon Appliance on Yelp after looking for someone open on Sunday. Called at about 10:30am and spoke with his son. Simon himself arrived about half hour later, and fixed the broken Samsung refrigerator within another half hour. Made sure to ask me if I would okay the parts charge before installing and showed me the broken part. Simon charged a flat rate for the service plus parts. Invoiced to apartment complex. Quick, open Sunday, flat service fee, and 90 day warranty for this service. I would highly reccomend Simon Appliance for effective and efficient repairs...even on Sunday Morning!! read more

Simon first came out via fidelity national home warranty. He was available same day to take a look at my refrigerator/freezer which had stopped cooling overnight. He diagnosed the problem as the inverter, an electrical issue, within just a couple minutes looking at it. And he recommended that I unplug it for safety, which was appreciated. He was able to get the part the very next day and fix it in less than 10 minutes. So he really knows his stuff and he's very efficient, which is great when you're busy. He also calls ahead of time to let you know he's on his way. That was about two weeks ago. I just had to call home warranty again because water was leaking from under the fridge. It seemed to be leaking from the valve on the wall where the water line connected as well as where the water line connected to the back of the fridge. He came out within a couple hours, cleared the waterline, and diagnosed the problem as the valve itself. This is a plumbing issue. But instead of having me call home warranty again and get a plumber to come out, he capped it for me. I will definitely request him in the future for any appliance issues. Thanks, Simon! read more

I had ice accumulation on the back wall of my Sub-Zero fridge. AHS dispatched Simon Appliance to fix the problem. Simon came over, identified the parts that needed to be replaced and in the following week he came back to fix it. Apparently, in order to work on the cooling system of Sub-Zero fridge you need to have a special license. Simon has it. He did excellent job. Not only that he fixed the problem he also came over the following week to verify that the Freon level is holding and there is no leak after the initial repair. Excellent service. Had a home warranty claim through Fidelity Home Warranty. They sent out Simon Appliance. Now, the problem was, when we took out the filter cap out of the refrigerator, it would spray water. At first glance (which he didn't really look at it at all... he was out in less than 5 mins), when he came out, I guess I understood... He said we had to turn the water off before changing the filter. Having had a number of refrigerators in the past, I had never had to shut off the water first... Well, I called the manufacturer, Kitchen Aid, and they insisted that it was not necessary to turn the water off first, and in fact, they recommended against. We then went to another website, and they had a video of how to change the filter- no recommendation to turn the water off first. We called Simon back, and he did not care to come back and look at the problem. We tried to bring it to him first, but he said we (including the manufacturer) were wrong, and that he would not come back. We contested this through the home warranty company, and they sent out another repairman to come and look at it. Well, sure enough, there was a problem with a valve that had broken, and now, when I take the filter or filter cap out - no water spraying all over. Turns out he didn't know his stuff... I would not call Simon Appliance ever again, nor recommend him to my friends or family. read more

We use this company because it's associated with our home owners insurance. Not the greatest customer service in the past but today was the worst. They are supposed to call you back 24 hours after being dispatched. They never did so we called and the said someone will call tomorrow to make an appointment. Unreal. Sold me a fridge for $800. Seemed to work in the Winter. Everything would start to melt when it got warm in the house. I kept asking him to check it out and he told be to unplug it and defrost it. Did this several time over the next 2 years, Finally had to call LG to come out and fix it and cost me another $300. He was too lazy to troubleshoot it himself and left me to burn. I called him within the first year several times and was just given the run-around. Don't trust. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY, if I could give 0 stars I would. My home warranty Fidelity Home Warranty (who I will not be using anymore) contracted with Simon Appliance to fix my dishwasher. The first person who came to fix my dishwasher was at my place for 10 minutes before he told me I needed to buy an air gap to fix my dishwasher, after barely even taking a look at it or even realizing the main problem was that it wasn't draining which I explained on the invoice as well as in person. This person also proceeded to push random buttons on my dishwasher trying to make it work, including a magnet that I had to explain did nothing as it was...well a magnet. He told me he would come back once I had an air gap put in. The air gap was put in the next day and I called to have him come back. When I called, he told me he was busy and to schedule with his partner instead. I made the call and had my appointment scheduled with his alleged partner for that day. Later on in the day I had a missed called from the company saying I hadn't scheduled my follow up. When I called back and told them that I had scheduled my follow up the ACTUAL partner told me that the person I spoke with WAS NOT AN ACTUAL EMPLOYEE of the company, but that he knew who he was but was not employed with them! So essentially a random person or "friend of a friend" of the original person who helped me was going to show up to my place to attempt to fix my dishwasher having no idea what was wrong with it. I was furious and told the actual partner that that is NOT okay that a random person and not an actual employee has my information and was going to show up to my house and all he did was apologize and said he understood. The even worst part? the actual partner told me my dishwasher would be just fine now with the air gap installed....even though he didn't know what was even wrong with it in the first place because he never came and saw it and I demanded him to come out still to make sure my dishwasher is actually working and not just assume because I was NOT going to be charged another $75. Do not use this company, they are sketchy and unprofessional and Fidelity Home Warranty should also not be used because when I reported the company itself they didn't seem too concerned about the situation. Amazing! It's 6:50 PM on SUNDAY, and Simon just finished fixing our Kenmore dryer. MY WIFE IS SOOOOO HAPPY! The dryer stopped providing heat a few hours ago, so we ended up looking around the house for places to hang wet clothes. I found myself uttering my thoughts out loud, "Ugh. I'm not even done mourning the 49ers loss today, and now I've got to figure out what's wrong with the dryer and try to get it fixed." Wifey didn't like my grumbling - something about being more helpful. Yada yada yada. It's a Kenmore dryer, so I checked Sears Home Services, but they couldn't get someone out here for nearly a week. Riiiight... as if the wife would stand for that. Then I heard a little voice that I hear so frequently these days, "Take to Yelp, young man!" Very well, mysterious voice. YELP ME! I called a couple other places around 5 PM today, SUNDAY, and got what I expected... answering machines and irritated "call back tomorrow during business hours" answers. Figures. "Looks like wet jeans curtains are here to stay," I muttered. "I'll call ONE MORE place," I sighed. I saw that Simon's hours said that he works Monday through Sunday. "Sure. Like he's going to do a house call after 5 PM on Sunday," I mused. But WHADDYAKNOW! Simon answered the call, asked where I found him (Yelp, of course), had me text him my address, and then showed up 45 minutes later. Within 5 minutes he had figured out which part was to blame for our dryer's lack of heat, and he happened to have the replacement part in his van. Another 10 minutes later, and I was writing a very reasonably priced check and shaking his hand. Honestly, we could not be happier. And I'd like to emphasize that I think Joseph S. posted an UNFAIR review of Simon. Woke up Sunday morning and the fridge was not working! Called Simon and he came with short notice (on a Sunday!) and checked the compressor. He said that most likely I needed to replace it (700 bucks!) but he would try one thing first. He changed the power relay and it worked (170 bucks)! I was so happy, but fate was against me, and the day after, the compressor stopped working. He came back, replaced the compressor and refunded the 170! Good job Simon! read more

Here's the situation; I am a young broke elementary school teacher, living with 3 other young broke teachers in a rental property that is managed by a less-than-helpful manager. When our fridge went on the fritz, we were told that all appliances in the 1940's bungalow with 20+ year old electronics were rented to us in AS-IS condition. The best solution he would offer is for the four of us to purchase a new one. Not what you want to hear as renters moving out in a few short months. Easily the most frustrating situation imaginable. Luckily, I did my research. Simon Appliance came up at the top of the list on yelp, and with a few great reviews. I admit, I had initially called the "big names" and got quoted that repairs would cost upwards of $450 for parts and labor. Simon and his business partner, Wilson, came in, took 10 minutes to confirm that the fridge was, in fact, shot, and that it would be more money than it is worth to fix it. He then offered us a nearly new fridge unit for only $400, and even gave us a discount, as he could see we were young teachers working in urban education. The help we got was professional and kind. Simon Appliance was on time to our house for inspection and delivery down to THE MINUTE. No waiting, no nonsense. These guys no there stuff and offer no excuses. We are so short on time, I just really appreciated his sense of urgency. He was at our house within 1 hour of calling. You can't beat quick service with a smile. Excellent customer service! The compressor on our LG fridge went out on a Tuesday evening. We called Simon first thing on Wednesday, and he had us send him the serial number, etc. His daughter then called back to tell us that our warranty would cover parts, but not labor (annoying, but expected). However, she then gave us instructions on how to contact LG to get the labor covered as well. While we got that taken care of, the part was ordered. We were told delivery would take two days, and they promised that we could be contacted to set up a repair appointment as soon as we arrived. Friday morning, Simon called us to let us know the part had arrived and that he would send a repairman out between 3:30 and 5:30pm, and that the total repair time would take about an hour. The repairman arrived 10 minutes early, and took 30 minutes to fix our fridge. He was friendly and efficient. After he left, Simon called to check on how things were going and make sure everything was okay. By 4:00pm on Friday, we had a working fridge again. So, in conclusion: Amazing customer service on top of technical skill and expertise. Simon not only wants to fix your problem, but wants to make sure you save as much money and have as pleasant of an experience as possible. We hope we never have to repair another appliance, but if we do, we will definitely call Simon. read more

Simon Appliance (Paul) did a great job fixing my LG Refrigerator. My wife and I bought an LG LFXS24663S refrigerator back in Aug 2015. In July of 2019, the freezer was not keeping temperature. LG support gave me a few suggestions to reset the refrigerator and do a fast cool. They said we may have packed the freezer with too many items. The recommended filling the freezer 3/4 full. That seemed to work for a few months. In Sept 2019, the same issue came back. The refrigerator and freezer were not keeping temperature. LG recommended the same solution. I requested a service company look at the unit. I called Simon Appliance after 6pm hoping to get someone. I reached their voice mail, but someone from Simon called me back within an hour. We schedule someone to come out the following day between 10am - 11am. Paul came out just after 10am with a new compressor and tools in hand. Apparently, the compressor does not last in LG refrigerators. Paul installed a new compressor within an hour. He was very courteous and explained some of the steps he was working on. Replacing the compressor is not a DIY project in my opinion. There is brazing involved and refilling the coolant. Something I can't do myself. After installing the unit, Paul said it would take a few hours to cool down again. It is cooling as expected. I would use Simon Appliance in the future is we have other problems with our appliances. read more

They provide a short appointment window - so you don't have to wait all day and arrive when they say they will. They are honest, offering options for repair costs. They even told us that our microwave didn't need to be repaired, just a minor adjustment and charged us nothing for coming out. Someone from this company was sent out as part of an insurance claim to diagnose around five appliances damaged by a power surge. The technician was very self-assured and insisted that he knew which parts needed to be repaired after spending a short time on each appliance. In some cases, he didn't even open them up -- insisting he knew what was wrong without examining them. As it turns out, he was incorrect or incomplete on the diagnosis of every single appliance. Many appliances had burnt parts internally beyond the basic repairs he claimed were needed -- because he didn't have the desire or curiosity to do a full diagnosis. In the end, the company that contracted him to do the inspection even told me that his work was not acceptable and wanted to send someone else out. read more

My Kitchenaid Refrigerator stopped working over the weekend. Everything in the freezer began to defrost and temperatures increasing by the hour. I began making calls and the closest appointment was for Tuesday. By then everything in the fridge will be spoiled. I found Simon on yelp and find out that he services on the weekends. Called him @ 10:00AM on Sunday morning and he was on my front door @ 10:30. Within 10 min he had already found the problem and off he went to get the replacement part. Within 30 min he was back with new part my fridge was working within 10 min after that. This guy is a magician (very knowledge). He is very professional and friendly and he will give you a 90 days warranty on parts and service. Hi, I rarely give a review , but this time I have to do it. Our 4.5 years old LG refrigerator stopped cooling . On LG site we found Simon as a recommended LG technician. Simon came and checked our refrigerator. He told us that the compressor is broken and needs to be replaced and that this is a common problem with LG, even there is a class action suit against LG. He sounded very convincing. My wife paid him in advance $700 to get the compressor that was still under LG warranty. Simon came back to replace the part in 4 days. He checked the fridge for leakage, cleaned it, I believe with nitrogen, replaced the compressor and solder the connecting pipes for Freon. The next day we found that the refrigerator still was not cooling. We called Simon, he came and found that Freon was gone. With the soap foam (he showed me) he found that his soldering was bad and there was leakage. He soldered all the connections again and charged Freon. A little more than a week later we found that the refrigerator is slowly warming again. Simon visited us the third time found again that Freon is gone and told us that he does not see a leakage, asked me to show him where the leakage is and then he can fix it. And if I cannot show him the leak, he suggested to buy a new refrigerator. He refused even to discuss any refund, arguing that his job was done by claiming that refrigerator was able to cool 10 days ago and the leakage happened after he fixed it. We wasted time, food, money and after Simon's third visit have to buy a new fridge. So, we would not recommend his services to anyone at all. read more
