You would think that the objective of a small business is to make money (or at least stay in business). With that attitude, I'm surprised that they are still in business under Dathan's leadership. Long story - I bought an induction cooktop at Airport Appliance (AA). Their in-house installers couldn't install it for some reason. I was referred to this third-party vendor. My sales associate (SA) had them contact me and I was on the phone explaining the situation with Dathan. I would say his customer service is great when he is trying to sell you his services. He was knowledgeable. Brought up how his installation prices were a little cheaper than AA. He even told me they used to be the in-house installers, but AA wanted them to wake up at like 4am to pick up the product at their warehouse and then go install it. Since they were all family men, they decided just to be the go-to if AA couldn't do it. We talked on the phone initially on Aug 18th (see pics for call log and minutes). We went over what was going on and there was some confusion with what was the actual problem. He said he would contact my SA to see what the issue was. Dathan also sent me out two initial quotes to look over and e-sign. My SA got back to me and said that they talked and wanted pictures of the wall behind my oven. I sent them and he said I would need a junction box installed and Dathan's company could do it, but it was going to be expensive (please see pic). After looking for other vendors, we decided to go with Proappliance because they were already recommended. I called back Dathan on Sept 11 to make sure we were on the same page before I signed the quote. He asked me to refresh his memory about what needed to be done. I told him that I knew it would probably be expensive, but I just wanted it installed no matter what the price. I signed the more expensive of the two quotes expecting it to be more in the end. The quote had included electrical work. I didn't want an on-site review because we already knew what needed to be done. Our in-home installation day comes and the two workers arrive. My husband was there to greet them. I was working so this is all hearsay from him. The installers said that we needed an electrician to come by in order for them to completely install the unit. My husband called me and I was so confused. I had specifically told Dathan what the issue was. At no point did he tell me that we needed to have an electrician come out to do that part before they could install. The installers said that they could still do it, but the electrician would have to finish the work and there was no guarantee that he would undo any of the work that they would have done. In that case, I declined the installation. My husband said that the interaction was very cordial. One of them even asked my husband if he could take a picture of my Beware of Dog sign. They told us that there was a 75 dollar fee for the on-site consultation, but my husband said that he wouldn't pay that until we got things squared away. There must have been some kind of miscommunication because we were told that they could complete the electrical work and installation. I get a call and voicemail from Dathan. A little bit later he emails me a bill for $95 dollars ($20 more). My husband wanted to talk to him. When he called him, he could already tell that Dathan was on the defensive. We would consider him confrontational and basically tried to blame it on me (the wife). He stated that he remembered that he told me we needed a circuit breaker, but that ridiculous because we wanted a one-stop shop and would never had hired him if he couldn't complete the whole job. They went back and forth for a while, and sometime during the conversation he asked my husband to recall what happened that day again, and my husband ask him how he was able to recall a conversation that happened a month ago, but not one that happened today? Things just didn't add up. I feel like he got so fixated on getting paid. I just spent 3k on a cooktop so 95 dollars is not important to us. It's mainly the principle behind it. I would think that you would want to have the customer satisfied so they keep coming back to you and referring friends for your services. In the long run, he got his 95 dollars, but lost out on at least 4x that much on the installation and thousands more on possible referrals. To me, the best case scenario would have a been a simple phone call to say there was a misunderstanding, and we apologize that we couldn't install your cooktop, but we have a list of trusted electricians that can help you, and afterwards we can come back and finish the installation. A portion of the 75/95 dollar fee could be used towards the installation in order to give the customer an incentive to return. Obviously he doesn't think that way and now we will never be using his services again. I will also be telling my SA at Airport about my experience with him. read more

I had a 5 star experience today with Pro Appliance Installation team that came out to install a range hood and cooktop. The team showed up on time, were respectful and professional throughout the entire visit (and all other interactions). I was really impressed with the quality of their work, attention to detail and overall outcome of install (which wasn't a boiler plate project, there was some great problem solving on the fly). These guys did a great job. The owner was a bit bristely at first as we were negotiating a decent sized job. Once I got to know him a little bit however I was very impressed with his knowledge of the services he provides. He was also very accommodating with scheduling. The schedule changed a couple times as it usually does with construction. He just rolled with it and was very understanding. The crew showed up on time the day of and installed a suite of thermador appliances in my new kitchen. The lead installer was an absolute beast. He had obviously prepared for the job by researching what he had to do beforehand. He accomplished some very challenging work in a short period of time and it was done perfectly. It always sucks to part with your money! I felt like the work these guys did however was worth every penny. They are very professional. A very straight forward service where you can get quotes by submitting a form on their website for our dishwasher installation. Someone gets back to you pretty quickly. The technicians who came for repair were very too the point and got the work done in no time. They did a very neat work and clear about the increase in price due to installation of custom panel. There are many customers reporting similar bad experiences from the owner. The owner never in one incident apologize to the customer, instead he loves to argue, loves to blame, and loves to think that it is everyone else's problem. The owners personality and ignorance is the core to this deteriorating company. Apparently if the project is simple, I don't doubt this company can finish the job. But when project gets complicated and difficult, they will not resolve any problem, and instead blame on the client. This is well shown on Yelp and Google reviews, proven by the owner himself and his comments with other customers. We used these folks when we purchased our home and found them to be quite professional and helpful. Being first time homeowners we were in that fun spot of needing all the things and having none of the money. Paired with a unrealistic HGTV expectation Pro Appliance came in and set realistic expectations while being kind to our novice home owner status. When all was said and done the team got everything including the fridge that is 100% not the correct size for the space it is in. Aaron and the guys at Pro Appliance came to remove my Sub Zero so we could have flooring installed. They also came back to put it back in. They professionally reinstalled it, replaced the supply line and made sure everything was level. They also noticed that the flooring guys didn't reinstall the dishwasher correctly so I asked them to fix that. It was never going to work the way it was. It was a nice catch on their part and they were willing to stay longer to get it installed correctly. Nice job guys! Also their scheduler, dispatch and tech tracking is all top notch. My experience with Pro Appliance Installation: Dathan was the first contact I had when I called Pro Appliance. Super nice guy who really took his time to ensure I had everything I needed, was clear with the details, and put everything in writing via email. I had a detailed list of expected work to be done and an invoice spelling out all charges. I was able to review it with him as well to make sure I had the services I needed. Later in the process, Mary also helped me get connected to the right people and places. Such a great company to work with. The value for the cost was excellent. Victor, Kevin, and Aaron. These were the three professionals who installed our new built-in refrigerator. I was so impressed with the relaxed and comfortable professionalism of a crew that have worked so well together for such a long time. The crew reported on time, were respectful and efficient. I was charged a mileage fee of $100 for the tech to drive 40 miles, and a non-readiness fee of $50 because the individual could not install the over the range microwave. The reason was that the tech drilled into a a cabinet bolt. He said, "I thought it was a dull bit, but I was drilling into a bolt." He called the owner and he said after a brief conversation about the installation, "Charge him a non-readiness fee of $75." I got it reduced to $50. The tech said, I could return the GE microwave to GE and buy a Whirlpool from Airport Appliance because Pro Appliances install their appliances! I have only written a two star review five times in 13 years! read more

ProAppliance Installation takes customer service to an elevated level that I have rarely experienced. They are amazing. We had an extremely challenging issue regarding replacing our old ovens. The back of the cabinets that hold our single wall ovens were separating from the wall and before we could install new ovens, we called around everywhere to help us ensure the safety of the cabinets by either fixing the existing cabinets, or rebuilding the cabinets. I called local installation companies,carpenters, and cabinet repair companies. I did find one carpenter and one cabinet company that said they would give us a quote to repair it, but neither of them ever got around to giving us a quote. So after many calls no one and I mean NO ONE was interested in tackling the issue, advising us on it, or following through on giving us a quote to fix it after seeing the issue. The overall impression I got was the professionals I contacted were either scared of the project or would prefer lower baring fruit with higher pay offs. I'll never know. Luckily, I called Pro Appliance Installation about the situation and one of the most thoughtful and helpful representatives I have ever come across answered the phone, Mary. Mary's patience and willingness to help with this challenge completely sold me on the integrity of this company. They offered to give us advise based on their expertise and it helped us finally move ahead on this project. I have also spoken to Dathan a couple of times and he has been terrific as well. Our consultation was with Kevin and after inspection he assured us that the cabinets were safe to continue to use. Only minor adjustments were needed for it to look more aesthetically pleasing. Kevin was also extremely helpful in regards to advising us on an issue we had with our range hood. Kevin came in and installed the new oven today and it looks great. He was very careful and did a wonderful job. ProAppliance is not a local company for us, so we do have to pay a little extra for them to come out this way and it could not be more worth it. These guys are a blessing and they care about helping people find satisfactory solutions. They are not afraid of challenges. I highly recommend this company. They just completed installation of multiple Thermador appliances and the work is very professionally done. This included getting chimney hood laser cut (by 3rd party) to the pitch of my ceiling and building a custom bracket for this. I had an old wall oven swapping out with a similarly sized new oven. But "similarly sized" isn't precise enough for a wall oven and so we discussed possible additional costs with cabinet modifications. Mary in the office is a dream.  She was very helpful in providing me with support in understanding the request for a quote and scheduling process, and Dathan provided me with a quote. The service team was also very pleasant and informative.  They were even able to access another project I have waiting to be quoted and scheduled. One area of concern I experienced during this process was that the service team overlooked securing the water line to the washer so that when I went to use the washer, I had a stream of water covering my floor.  In a state of panic, I called the office to ask that they send someone out immediately to correct the issue.  This was a less than productive call, but in the end, a service team was quickly sent to correct the issue. I HIGHLY recommend Pro Appliance Installation, they turned an appliance debacle into customers for life. We purchased 2 new GE appliances and the store hired Pro Appliance to install the dishwasher. They were prompt and efficient, doing the installation on a holiday! After they tested the dishwasher and finished the installation, we tried to load the new GE dishwasher's top rack and it didn't come all of the ways out. We went to the store and the person we spoke with had no clue what was wrong. Contacted GE via Twitter and by phone. On Twitter, GE suggested it was a hard water problem. The dishwasher was never used. GE said they would send someone in 2+ weeks (this process took several days). I spoke with the sales person who sold us the appliances and he contacted Dathan at Pro Appliance. In no time Kevin was there and told us it was a manufacturer's defect and arranged to have the dishwasher sent back. The 2nd dishwasher arrived (damaged) and Pro Appliance insisted that it go back as well. The day they were to install dishwasher #2 they were fully booked with appointments and yet they drove out of their way to pick up the new dishwasher and had one of their installers install it on his way home instead of waiting until the next day. Not only did they take care of the dishwasher but they FIXED the botched GE refrigerator installation and leveled our self-installed wine refrigerator. I wish I had made note of all of their names but Dathan was a rock star and dealt with every concern promptly and worked around our schedule. These guys were so easy to work with and were absolute professionals. We purchased a range from our neighbors as they are remodeling and the stove was only about 18 months old. They set up an appointment and Kevin looked at our current kitchen to determine if the new new range would work before we bought the stove. This company came as a recommendation from the appliance store I have used several times in the past. The task at hand entailed moving a washer and dryer from my parents house to my house. When the technicians arrived, they refused to put booties in their boots due to their insurance policy. One of the technicians proceeded to track grease up my parents carpeted stairs. When it was brought to their attention, they acknowledged that one of the technicians had grease on his boots, placed blue tape on the bottom of his boots, and proceeded with his job; no apology rendered. After they left, I spent over an hour trying to get the grease out of the carpet. As I was fairly successful in removing the spots, I didn't feel the need to seek further action. Months later, we noticed that one of the machines was slightly out of alignment, and we called to schedule an appointment to have it adjusted. Once I was successful in convincing the person on the phone that the machine was out of alignment, which also included me referencing the carpet incident at my parents house, the crew they sent out to perform the balancing was blatantly rude. When asked if they would consider placing something on our hardwood floors to protect them when the washer was removed from the cabinet, the technician threw aside the runner I had laid out and barked to the other "go grab the slider". I feel that this is a fairly rudimentary concept and should be a common practice when moving heavy machinery on hardwood floors. All in all, the job that we paid them to perform was completed, hence the 3 stars. But if you prioritize keeping your floors, and carpet, from being damaged, you should look elsewhere. read more

He arrived promptly and work efficiently removing and replacing items. The process went fairly well. I was not totally prepared for the additional installation fees added to the amount of installation paid upfront at Western Appliance upon purchase. It was more than I had anticipated, but then I haven't had a new stove in many years and I realize that everything costs more nowadays. I wish that there might have been a "guesstimate" or indicator given so as to prepare me for the total of these additional charges. I spoke on the phone to the owner of the business who was amicable and most considerate. Because one of my drawers would not close after installation, the owner sent the workman back to fix the problem. I only used Pro Appliance because this is who Western Appliance uses for their installs. Dathan the guy that helps schedule your install is combative and disrespectful. They damaged my Thermador hood so badly that it had to be replaced and they didn't even have the curtesy to tell me, as I was cleaning off all the fingerprints and smudges left from the install I noticed the damage. To make matters worse, I found out that one of the owners was one of the installers who damaged my hood, you would think the owner would have more accountability. They made me feel like it was my fault and it was an inconvenience to come out and replace it. Really? Customer service is officially dead at this business. I was already leery to use this company when I was buying my appliances there is another lady in the store saying how they had completely screwed up her house as well. After fighting with them to get them out here to pull my hood down they finally come out. They knicked my brand new cabinets as they were pulling out the damaged hood this place is an absolute DISASTER! Also, it's been 2 months and I'm still waiting for a receipt of the installation charges I paid. Save your time and energy go somewhere else! read more

We needed a gas cooktop installed and ultimately went with Pro Appliance. On the positives, the quote system was easy and quick. The pricing was considerably better than others I got quotes from, particularly compared to handymen. The install itself was quick and the result met my expectations. I probably could have done it myself, but I just didn't want to deal with the gas line. On the negatives, the tech arrived earlier than the stated window. It wasn't a huge deal as I was home, but I was in the middle of a work call and had to cut off the call to attend to the tech. He came to our home without a mask and without taking of shoes or putting on shoe covers. Not only was he not wearing a mask, he didn't even have one with him. He also did not come prepared with a gas flex line on hand, even though it was clearly included in the quote, so he had to head out to purchase one. As a result, a job that would have taken him less than 30 minutes to do, ended up taking an hour (still quick, so not a big deal). Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I wouldn't say it was a great one either. I wish they took customer safety a bit more seriously. read more

I bought a ranger and dishwasher at lows they set me up for installation with this guys , The guy show up and want to charge me extra $350 after I paid to lows $140 on installation and $35 for parts. I refuse to pay extra on the dishwasher installation and told the guy ok don't install the dishwasher but install the ranger. Of course the guy left without installing anything!!! And only because he understood he won't make any extra out of me since I'm not a sucker . I asked few time install just the ranger and he replied that he can install only if he install the dishwasher too and get extra $350. The guy left before giving me the time to contact lows for answers and now I need to wait 5 more days for installation after I have been waiting for 2 weeks!
