I stopped here to grab coffee and churros before visiting a friend in the area and this is a hidden gem in the neighborhood! I was born and raised in Belmont-Cragin but I've never been to this spot until yesterday! We got an iced cafe de olla, a couple of churros and I got the mangonada refresher and I cannot say anything but good things about what we got, everything was delicious and fresh! I definitely recommend Xurro, the place was empty when I got there and they have plenty of space in their dining area, check them out you won't regret it. Love love love Xurro! I've been here several times now and find myself craving their sugary treats. It's a good size churros, with plenty of sugar coating, and if you get a filling there's a good amount of filling inside as well. It's best to eat them when they're still warm and crunchy. They have a ton of flavors, usually I think they have plain, cream cheese, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and whatever is the flavor of the day. I've gotten guava and rompope/eggnog on different days. All are delicious! I haven't eaten anything else but all the other desserts look just as good! They have to be like 1.5 feet long, the cinnamon sugar is jussssst enough for each bite and the filling is flavorable. I get that Hershey's chocolate is generally a s'more staple, but in this case it should've been replaced with at least semi-sweet chocolate as the spiralized churros, which make up the graham cracker part, were already sweet. Couldn't finish the whole thing as it was way too sweet for me. The awning does ask that no more than three people be in there at once. Not sure how strictly they enforce this though. I got a cream cheese churro, strawberry churro, and a horchata churro milk shake to share. Once you're done ordering, you wait outside, and they'll bring it out to you. Usually within just a few minutes. But the churro was perfect. It was hot, crispy, airy, light, and the fillings were perfect. The cream cheese was the right consistency and perfect amount of sweetness. This is my preferred filling. The strawberry was also amazing. The filling was a lot like the hersey's strawberry syrup you use atop of ice cream. This syrupy flavor and texture went perfectly with the light airy crisp churro. I feel real jam would have just been too heavy and made everything inside particularly soggy. While the churros were amazing, the milk shake was fine. My first mistake was to get a horchata milk shake. Horchata is really just sugar and cinnamon, which is what a churro is already. I mean it's a delicious milkshake, but I was expecting a churro milk shake to have bits of churro in it (like a chocolate cake shake from portillos).
