The folks at the location on Blue Star are honest, informative and beyond professional. When you are in an accident it's tense and frustrating. Lisa at the front desk was amazing. She was personable and helpful in giving me all the details about the timing for the repairs, helping coordinate with the rental car company and keeping me informed. She eliminated any stress from the process and was beyond helpful. Preston, the adjuster was also sincere, helpful and informative. A part was lost on my bumper from a previous repair and I thought it was a warranty issue. He pointed out that someone had hit my car and showed me where the impact was. Not a great feeling, but I trusted his evaluation. Because they were going to have my car for a while. I asked them to take a look at the repairs that were done on my car at the Gerber location in IL; i noticed some potential issues. They found problems and made the necessary repairs all under the Gerber Warranty. While I hope not to have to return to Gerber anytime in the near (or distant future), I do know that when/if I have any other collision repairs this is the only place I'll go.

    I was referred to AutoBody Xperts to repair a door ding on my 2021 Honda Accord, and while the…read morequality of the repair was excellent, the communication (or lack thereof) throughout the process was extremely frustrating. I'm a teacher with a very inflexible schedule, which I clearly communicated when scheduling my repair. I was told after-hours drop-off was fine, but on the morning of the appointment I was informed additional paperwork/signatures were required -- something that should have been handled ahead of time. My repair estimate appeared to state 5 hours for repair so I called at the end of the first day inquiring about the status of my vehicle, only to be told that it was 5 hours for BOTH body work and paint hours. Again, something not clearly communicated up front. The next day I spoke with management, who acknowledged the communication issues and promised updates on day 2 that never happened. When I inquired about a possible discount on day 3 for the repeated lack of communication, I was denied and told the car was still ready by the "promised date," though no promised date was ever communicated or documented. After finally receiving my vehicle back, I emailed the owner (Kelly) about my experience. He gave me a call, and while he admitted it was a "perfect storm" of issues, all he offered were more apologies and explanations. After about 30 minutes the conversation turned extremely argumentative and I decided it was time to hang up the phone when he sarcastically asked if I wanted him to personally pay my entire bill out of his own pocket. Kelly, when you read this, it was never about a specific dollar amount, but the gesture itself. A gesture that as a business says, we're sorry you had a bad experience, here's a little something to try and make up for it. You talked about learning lessons from this experience and I really hope that's one of them. Again, the repair itself looks phenomenal -- truly excellent work by the technicians. However, the communication and customer service throughout the process was absolutely abysmal. 5/5 for the repair. 1/5 for the service & communication.
