I have to have a experience that moves me one way or the other now. This was such an experience. I read your reviews, I trust them, but I make decisions still, based on my gut and own research. I don't see a 1 star review, and think it is all encompassing. I don't see a 5 star, and trust it to mean it can be globalized either. Enter Charlie, with Cleaner Greens Lawn and Landscape. In part, I chose him because I am a military veteran, and I understand and try to support other veteran owned or operated businesses, or service providers. I know it takes finesse, and a special kind of person to navigate us veterans in most cases, as we are wired different following our service to this country. We don't need special handling instructions, but we do move in a different manner because of our experience. Our expectations of our work, and efforts, can be a bit meticulous. We want to go the extra mile, and don't need much recognition that we do. I had a couple of issues and needed my irrigation systems prepped for next spring. That meant I needed someone that could be flexible, since I have two systems, two different homes, leaks, but also ME. Yes, me. I am also a vet, so my wants are also exacting, detailed and I can be too direct or demanding. Maybe even intense. Put two of us together....? You do the math... Well I had a couple of concerns that needed to be addressed after the initial services, and I was impatient in awaiting a reply. Charlie, as the consummate pro, walked me through the mine field back to reassurance he would definitely come through and figure it out. He did, the same day. Promise kept. This is a rarity in business these days. A business that stands up for and by their craft, and work. Was he a bit arrogant? Maybe. But when you have the work behind it, you should be if that work is called into question. So in those other reviews, there may be a bit of truth in the 1 star reviews. I do know part of that is his no nonsense approach to his work, but some of it might have been the customers own expectations. Is Charlie a little rough around the edges.. maybe. Maybe he is all edges. Military service rewires us as people, and designs us for battle, for actual war, combat, not planting flowers, but ending lives. It is something most vets, and family members of veterans understand. Not to excuse us, but maybe to help others understand. As well, his prices are somewhere in the middle, but his actual work is top shelf. He didn't leave trash anywhere, and you can have an actual conversation with him about every detail of the service, and he gives you details in a manner you can understand even if you've never worked on your own system as I have. I hope when you are looking for a sprinkler service, you read the reviews, trust your gut, and then when taking bids for the job, add Cleaner Greens as one of your options. And remember, are you looking for professional worksmanship at a value, or a friend? I was looking for the first, and got just that. Now when spring comes, I am confident, even if there is a snafu, Charlie will be ready to show up, and get things on track. As always. Take care of yourselves. The latest appointment in the day is 1-3 pm which is difficult for our work schedule. When we opted for the 1-3 the service person called at 11:30 saying they were on their way! That seems too far outside the windows to expect customers to quickly adjust. They also give a base-line, per-call price but dot give an estimate before working. They also invoice for their services. Once the work was done it took 2 phone calls and 2 hours just to know how much we owed for the fix.

First off, I hired this company because of all the rave reviews - Despite the fact their quote was…read more3X the other companies I received quotes. I hired them to till, remove rocks and debris, grade, and sod my backyard. If you have new construction in NFW you likely have a lot of trash and rocks right below your grass... They performed the work while we were out of town. When we returned the morning of the following day I turned on my sprinklers only to discover that 15 out of 18 sprinkler heads were NOT uncovered... Meaning they put sod OVER the sprinkler heads. My wife spent TWO HOURS of our time lifting sod and cutting out holes for the sprinkler heads. Why didn't I do it? I'm a 100% service-disabled Navy SEAL veteran and am unable to do any physical labor. During this time, she discovered rocks still under the sod she lifted (the ONLY reason we had this done); she also found many fresh cigarette butts and fast food trash, and gum strewn all over our yard. Not to mention... 90% of the sod they placed was DEAD!!! I contacted them and explained what we found. "Delight" Landscape blamed the dead sod on us for not watering it and didn't seem to care about any of the other issues with their sub-par work. Just so you know: 1. I told them we would be out of town the day they did the work and would return the following day. 2. We missed one watering time by 4 hours. 3. Even if we were there, only 3 of the 18 sprinkler heads would have worked. I was FINALLY able to convince someone to come and look at how they destroyed our backyard. To be fair, when he came he was very apologetic and promised to have it fixed. During that time I pointed out how a few of our sprinkler heads along the fence were moved... more on this later. A team from Delight Landscape came out to fix their mess. They replaced most of the dead sod and regraded a few areas that were clearly never done the first time. A few days later, my wife noticed A LOT of water flowing down the sidewalk outside our home as soon as the sprinklers came on. I told her how to turn that zone off and on, and she did so to see exactly where the water was coming from. A short video makes clear there is a leak from a broken pipe below a specific head. I called my contact at "DElight" and explained what was happening. He told me that no one could come out to check it over the weekend (So I either let my sod die or literally pour pony down the drain... I was told someone would be there at 830 am on Monday. Around 1030 I got a message that someone would be there by the end of the day and just needed to confirm I would be there... so, I stayed home all day. Around 630 pm, someone came back by... I thought to fix my leak as promised... but no, just to tell me they are still trying to find someone. They called the sprinkler repair guy and explained what was happening. The sprinkler guy told ME that I was WRONG and that what I was seeing was just runoff (aka... You're a 54 y/o idiot) So, my wife had to rerun the system; the guy videoed it for a few seconds, and... well, surprise, surprise, surprise... there's a leak! The guy comes out the next day, and after a few times of running the system and saying there is no problem, by the Grace of God finds the problem (blames it on someone else, of course) and fixes it. It's CLEAR that when they tilled or graded the lawn, they broke two of my sprinkler pipes and did a terrible job fixing them, and didn't cut out the sod. I am pretty forgiving because I believe people are good and generally do the right thing. So this only bothered me once they re-sent the invoice for the exact same amount. I own a business myself and I thought they would write this one off... a LEAST a big discount. Nope. Delight Landscape will do the worst job you've ever seen and not care enough about you to even give you the slightest discount. I would never recommend this company. This is one place to go with a lower bidder.
