Claro's is the Real Deal for submarine sandwiches I usually get 2 when I'm there. I get the pre-made ones out of the refrigerated showcase they have different kinds so you just have to look at the sandwich and decide what's best for you. Oh don't forget that Claro's is closed on Wednesday open for 6 days out of the week.

out of all the places in the San Gabriel Valley, this place truly astonishes me. The quality of…read morefood and variety stands out. Especially, I love the cannoli, Italian sandwiches made fresh to order with sliced meats and cheeses, and the fun little ingredients sprinkled throughout the market. coming here as a kid, I used to love how they had straw on the ground. The big old hunk of cheese hanging from the ceiling. The smells, the sites, and the friendly faces I'd see, offering me treats. I feel like the best cannoli I've ever had is here. I've been all over for cannolis, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, etc. but no one really does it like they do it here! The ricotta is creamy with chocolate chips and candied fruit, and the edges are lined with nuts . Sprinkled with a perfect amount of powdered sugar, it's so delightful with the crunchy shell. My dad likes to order the sfogtitelle, pronounced soy uh della. Kind of funny spelling, huh? It's a pastry layered with semolina flour (aka pasta flour) and stuffed with a citrus cream custard. That's good here as well, they also sell it frozen so you can bake it at home. Always a must to grab a sandwich here. They cut the deli meat and cheese right in front of you. There's a wide selection of meats and cheeses to choose from. If you like more of the spicy stuff, I would suggest salami's like the hot Calabrese, hot soppresata, and chorizo. The Italian ham is good as well, mortadella and capacolo. I always also have Cajun turkey in the sandwich. Lots of good cheeses to choose from, Havarti is nice and creamy, provolone has a nice tangy taste, pepper Jack has a little kick, and Swiss a funny little taste. They let you sample the meats and cheeses so you can figure it out for yourself too haha. Always pay extra for the roasted red peppers in the sandwich, it's worth it trust me. me and my friends also love to get the deli meats and cheeses for a charcuterie boards. It's a good deal, cheaper than what you would pay in a market for incredibly fresh meat. They sometimes even give you an airtight container to keep it super fresh. Grocery shopping here for specialty items is great as well. In the freezer section, they have an incredible fresh pesto, but they also have a lot of canned sauces as well. The blood orange juice is nice. My family always gets the Italian sausages by the pound in the big old bag to make sausages with tomato sauce. I've been going here since I was a kid, and I'm happy to see it still thriving. There is truly no other place like this in the San Gabriel Valley, I wish I still lived close to here, but I guess it makes it even more special when I'm around.

What a creamy and flavorful pasta dish! I noticed a family owned Italian restaurant located next to…read moreSummerfield and finally found the opportunity to try it. They use the same parking lot as Summerfield so it can get busy at some times. I called in to place an order for dinner and it was super easy and convenient. I ordered their Di Pilla Special pizza and a medium Parpadelle special pasta. The total for these dishes came out to be $62. Their portions are quite large since they're a family style restaurant. They also gave us complimentary bread which tasted amazing! I will say that I felt really heavy and full after this meal so this is definitely a cheat meal type of food. Food: Parpadelle Special Pasta (9/10): The noodles are huge and thick and the sauce gets absorbed perfectly. There's mushrooms, spinach, chicken with a white sauce base. They loaded this dish up with sauce which was heavenly. I even dipped my complimentary bread in the sauce because it just tasted that good. The chicken was so soft and wasn't overcooked at all. Between a family of three, there was a perfect amount and didn't have any leftovers. Di Pilla Special Pizza (9/10): Wow, the amount of toppings? Insane. We ordered the medium size which is a 14 inch. There was pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, hamburger, and bacon. I had to go back to their menu to see what toppings there were because wow was there a load full. I thought that the mushroom and bell pepper did overpower most of the slice. We had so many slices left over because of how full each slice makes you. I had it the day after and It was still tasty. I need to come back and try their other menu options. They have so many options to choose from which gets overwhelming because everything sounds amazing!

Service could use a bit more personality, ambiance is original, dated but rustic, old school. We were seated promptly at a booth. Our server arrived shortly, Hubby, of course, ordered a glass of a very good Chianti (the best part of the experience). We took a bit more time to peruse the menu. He knew precisely what he wanted & it took me a bit to decide. The chicken piccata was the winner & I opted for angel hair with plenty of veggies. The table bread was pretty tasty with the balsamic & olive oil. Hubby wasn't all that impressed with his dish but I found it much better than my flavorless meal. Mine lacked depth-- did they season it? It was rather disappointing. I was hoping to have a local Italian restaurant as a go to but sadly, it wasn't at all a great first impression. If Hubby didn't care for his meal, I doubt he would be convinced to revisit to give it another fair shake. At least the Chianti was great choice. Too bad, I had high hopes for Di Pilla's. Service was decent. Dedicated free small parking lot, no outdoor seating.

I am genuinely thrilled to have such an upscale, quiet, and relaxing restaurant right here in my neighborhood. You can truly taste the chef's passion and dedication in every dish. Every time I bring friends here, they are absolutely amazed and delighted by the flavors. We ordered quite a few dishes today. The highlight was the Chilean Sea Bass. The chef served a massive, beautifully thick cut--which is actually the hardest to execute. If overcooked even slightly, Chilean Sea Bass becomes dry and tough. But the timing here was absolutely perfect. It had a gorgeous, golden-brown exterior, while the inside remained incredibly moist, tender, and delightfully springy. The seasoning was spot-on and never overpowering; it wasn't too salty, perfectly preserving the natural, fresh flavors of the sea. We also had the Chicken Bowtie Pasta. I typically avoid chicken dishes at restaurants because they often turn out dry and lack the rich aroma you get from beef or lamb. However, Sage's chef elevates chicken to another level. Rather than using the traditional Cantonese technique of quickly flash-frying in oil (which yields a smooth texture but sacrifices the natural meat aroma), the chef here expertly pan-sears the chicken over extremely high heat for a short time. This creates a deliciously crisp exterior that locks in all the juices and rich flavor. Tossed with perfectly cooked bowtie pasta and cheese, the result is so flavorful and well-balanced that we simply couldn't stop eating! Another great thing about Sage is their incredibly generous portion sizes--we left completely satisfied! We finished our meal with a great cup of coffee and the chef's handmade Tiramisu, drawing a perfect, sweet close to our evening. Highly recommend!
