I put out a request for service thru Yelp for a Microwave/Hood repair. In the request for service I entered the make, model #, serial #, and microwave month & year of manufacture. I also included two error codes including each code's English explanation. I thought the unit would be repaired the day the repairman arrived. But alas, when I received a call from an employee, with a St. Helen, OR phone number, I knew that wasn't going to happen. I received the call after the repairman was already in the area, and the employee wanted to know the model# of the microwave. I guess we're not qualified to read scrolling codes w/their explanations. (Maybe Yelp can add a feature to send a video of the scrolling codes, etc.) Needless to say, the repairman wanted to know if a flapper in the vent might be the cause of the problem. The repairman put in a order for the two sensors indicated by the error codes, and gave us a return date of 2/7/22 to complete repair and provided homework assignment of removing spray foam from around hood pipe. On 2/7/22 I received a phone call from the St. Helens phone# informing me that the repairman was sick and re-scheduled repair for 2/9/22 btwn 1000 & 1400 hrs. During mid afternoon hrs of 2/8/22 I received a call from another employee, w/a Cannon Beach, OR phone#, who indicated last part arrived a little earlier that day & next appointment availability was on 2/10/22. I asked about the time slot I was already assigned on 2/9/22.. Mr. Cannon Beach stated he would call Mr. St. Helens & get back to me. Didn't happen. No body contacted me & no repairman showed up on 2/9/22. After 0900 hrs, 2/10/22, I sent a text message to Mr. Cannon Beach inquiring about my appointment, which was returned undeliverable. I sent same text to Mr. St. Helens, and another over Yelp app. Mr St. Helens replied repairman was 108 minutes out. Received a return text thru Yelp much later hoping repairman was successful. Bottom line, repairman knew his stuff, but behind scenes personnel - not so much. read more
