Wow! What a difference a day made(or in this case 3 years or so). Helping my dear uncle with his relatively newly installed service. He's elderly, brilliant, however like many of his generation, not technically savvy enough to deal with some tech issues. We had horrible experience a few years back with Xfinity, canceled service, then had to fight for months to get (prorated) money back. On today's visit I came in hot, stressed and ready to be disappointed (again!). Exact opposite, a complete 180! Linda made my day/week/month and maybe year! Waited for about 30 minutes wanting to purchase a new $1200 phone and they refused to sell it to me unless I spent an additional $100 for a phone case and screen protector. They kept bumbling around so confused and unable to explain much of anything. Don't bother going to the store if there is any possibility of taking care of your issue online/remotely. read more

I went in with the intention of signing up for an Internet plan. After I was greeted by one of the reps, he asked me what brought me in that day. Mind you in my appointment notes I specifically stated, we are only looking for Internet. We already have our own equipment. We do not need mobile. He pulled out a sheet that looked to include their current offerings and automatically I noticed the pricing was much higher than advertised online. We were looking to sign up for the 600 Mbps service for $55 a month. The sheet that included their current offerings in store didn't even have a 600 Mbps plan. The closest plan they had was for 800 Mbps for $101. I explained to him that that is not what was advertised on Xfinity's website. He went onto tell me that the price I was seeing online included mobile service. I pulled on my phone went on Xfinity's website and added the plan we were interested in into the cart and went to check out. No, such mobile service was included in the monthly fee. We left Xfinity before. Now I'm starting to see why. This has been ridiculous. I will be either purchasing online or going into another store and contacting corporate. Complete incompetence. Recently came to the store to make a basic change to my account, to discontinue an old land line. They were unable to do this. I assume this is an effort to force you to maintain (and continue to pay for) services you don't need. We were told to call customer support, so did so from the store. An hour later, we observed many people come into the store. Almost everyone left angry about the employees' inability to perform the most basic services. read more

I'm trying to decide whether this store gave me a one or two-star experience. My experiences with internet, cable, mobile, etc., providers haven't been stellar. This one had problems that I couldn't help but call out. The good: They solved my problem, although they didn't provide me with the right cables, so I had to make a second trip back to get them. That wasn't very careful of them, causing me to drive 10 miles twice and then wait in line. The not-so-good: 1: See above, 2: There was a long line, and there was an open register while the manager watched and didn't seem to want to help alleviate the wait, 3: Rather than work quickly, the customer service reps seemed more interested in up-selling the people they were helping, lengthening the wait. While I understand this is a business, making their existing customers wait while they try to squeeze them for an "additional share of wallet," seems counterproductive. Taking this all together, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and giving them two stars, although perhaps it should only be one. In particular, Xfinity has you locked in - not by contract, but (1) the phones are so expensive, you finance them and stick with them until they are paid off, (2) they also provide internet, cable, and landlines. And, there aren't any other options, making them a monopoly. There aren't any other good choices other than DSL (slow) and Sattelite (expensive, slow, and unreliable). We genuinely need options here in the Chicago suburbs. read more

I switched to Xfinity Mobile from Verizon Wireless 1-year ago. I use my phone for business. Within 2 months, someone hacked my mobile ID. I've spent 10+ hours, 8 calls to customer service, 2- trips to the Xfinity store in Vernon Hills, IL. They were TERRIBLE, RUDE, and could not fix the problem! How can the owner of my account not be able to fix my Caller ID? Hackers are better than Xfinity Mobile???? Clients who I have known for 20+ years do not answer my calls because my caller ID says "Rupal Amin." I do not recommend XFINITY Mobile. They are not equipped to secure their clients accounts. I normally try to give people the benefit of the doubt, as I totally understand we all have off days and low moods, and everyone is just trying their best! I won't focus on my thoughts on anyone, or spread negativity, but I will share that I don't find this store to be very honest. I came in with information about online deals and asked for the deal to be met. The store manager replied that that deal is "not offered," and that the only deals they sell are 24 term deals. This is simply not true. I am glad I did my research beforehand, because the staff tried to get me to pay close to $50 more per month for a 24 month plan (which I don't even need) even when I brought up the actual prices online. It made me feel really bad for people who may just walk into the store expecting honesty, or who would not think to double check online. I am hopeful that this is not always the case, but definitely come prepared beforehand or purchase online! It was quite an unpleasant experience. read more

On May 4, 2023 my husband and I went to the Xfinity store at 2840 Patriot Blvd., Glenview, Il 60026 at about 3:00 PM. We have been with Comcast/Xfinity for over 35 years. Our two year contract had expired on May 1, 2023 and we wanted to inquire about the best plan for us and what the price would be. We currently use internet, home phone and cable TV services. When we entered the facility 2 representatives were helping other customers and one was free. Yet, he said they were too busy to help us and there would be a long waiting time. We didn't see anyone else waiting. I said we took the time to drive over here, "Can't you help us?". He refused and wrote down a phone number and said to go home and call: 1-877-561-9413. We called the number while still in the store and the person who answered said they needed to bring up our account on the computer. After trying for 10 minutes he said he could not access our account because we are in the United States and that is not the area that his department services. He then transferred me to another location and that person was able to answer my questions, although getting the answers from him took about 30 minutes. All of this was very frustrating as we sat in the store, while none of the store employees would help us. Meanwhile the employee behind the counter was doing nothing and when other customers came in he also told them to call and he wouldn't help them. He was rude and uncooperative. We have never been treated so disrespectfully! We were still in the store on the phone with xfinity and before we left I asked him why he wouldn't help us. He turned his back on me and wouldn't answer. All of a sudden he had lost his voice and wouldn't even apologize for not doing his job. This whole experience was unprofessional and disrespectful . No one should be treated this way. We are in the process of looking for a new services provider since Xfinity does not value its loyal customers. I WOULD GIVE THIS PLACE A ZERO STAR! read more

Horrible experience here! After waiting for more than 17 minutes, anither customer was served ahead of me and when I objected, the so called manager asked me in a very rude manner " What do you want?". I tried to explain my issue and then he said I had to leave the store. So, I decided to call Xfinity customer service for help and I was given proper attention. Store manager, apparently, did not like that and sent in a female African American employee to threaten me to leave or would call the police on me! She had not witnessed my interaction with the store manager so how could she decide who was at fault? While at the store, I noticed other customers were frustrated and started complaining as well. As a business owner with 9 Comcast accounts with total of 27 phone lines and internet service, I can clearly see the result of lack of management attention to Glenview, IL branch. I purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S23. From the beginning, when I would make a call, most of the time the person I was talking to could not understand me since they said the sound kept breaking up. I tried all their support troubleshooting tips but that did not work. I went to this Xfinity store and they said the issue was a bad sim card so they replaced it, but that did not fix the problem. I went back again today and they said there was nothing they could do since they are only a reseller. I told them they sold me the phone and that it never worked right and I contacted Xfinity support within days about the issue. They still said there was nothing they could do. On a previous Xfinity support call, they hooked in Samsung support on the phone. They said I would need to mail in my phone for them to take a look at it. This means I would be without a phone for days. Stay away from Xfinity Mobile and also Samsung phones. read more
