He's elderly, brilliant, however like many of his generation, not technically savvy enough to deal with some tech issues. We had horrible experience a few years back with Xfinity, canceled service, then had to fight for months to get (prorated) money back. Three years ago, I had the chance to visit this Xfinity store to pick up equipment, only to find they gave me the wrong equipment when I tried to hook it up. This meant I had to return to the store to get the right stuff. I had the exact same experience this time, three years later. The cable box at my mother's apartment was fried. I took it to the store and asked for a replacement. They gave me a box which I took back to her place but couldn't get to work. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After a call to Xfinity customer service, I was told they gave me a box that was a slave to a main box, yet she only has the one TV so doesn't have a main box. I was told to go back to the store to let them know we needed a cable only box.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went back to the store and told them what the service rep told me to say. The store clerk said what I had was a main box. I explained it was not and told them what I needed. This time, they gave me the right cable box. It seems to me that the reps at the store don't know their equipment or, in both occasions, I would not have had to return to let them know that gave me the wrong equiment. This can't be a fluke and other customers must have similar problems. I'd suggest that the store management consider retraining their existing employees, while ensuring new employees are well versed on their equipment. Since I rated them two stars last time and had the same experience again, this wasn't a fluke. So, this time around I have to say this was a one star experience. read more

Horrible service. Person at desk could not have been more indifferent if she tried. Could not find my appt, my acct. at first. When she did, she basically told me there was nothing she could do for me unless I was willing to give up my land line. Additionally, she did not advise me my bill was going up $50. the next month for the same service. She finally did advise me to call "rentention" which did without even leaving the parking lot. Spent an hour on phone with a very helpful person and I will be talking to her again tomorrow to make the proper adjustments to the account. As the former owner of a retail business, the staff in that store should either be trained to handle customers as if they mattered to the company or sent elsewhere. I would never, ever step into that store again, nor should anyone else unless you enjoy rude, indifferent service. We already have our own equipment. We do not need mobile.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He pulled out a sheet that looked to include their current offerings and automatically I noticed the pricing was much higher than advertised online. We were looking to sign up for the 600 Mbps service for $55 a month. The sheet that included their current offerings in store didn't even have a 600 Mbps plan. The closest plan they had was for 800 Mbps for $101. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I explained to him that that is not what was advertised on Xfinity's website. He went onto tell me that the price I was seeing online included mobile service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I pulled on my phone went on Xfinity's website and added the plan we were interested in into the cart and went to check out. No, such mobile service was included in the monthly fee. We left Xfinity before. Now I'm starting to see why. This has been ridiculous. I switched to Xfinity Mobile from Verizon Wireless 1-year ago. I use my phone for business. Within 2 months, someone hacked my mobile ID. I've spent 10+ hours, 8 calls to customer service, 2- trips to the Xfinity store in Vernon Hills, IL. They were TERRIBLE, RUDE, and could not fix the problem! How can the owner of my account not be able to fix my Caller ID? Hackers are better than Xfinity Mobile???? Clients who I have known for 20+ years do not answer my calls because my caller ID says "Rupal Amin." I do not recommend XFINITY Mobile. They are not equipped to secure their clients accounts. I normally try to give people the benefit of the doubt, as I totally understand we all have off days and low moods, and everyone is just trying their best! I won't focus on my thoughts on anyone, or spread negativity, but I will share that I don't find this store to be very honest. I came in with information about online deals and asked for the deal to be met. The store manager replied that that deal is "not offered," and that the only deals they sell are 24 term deals. This is simply not true. I am glad I did my research beforehand, because the staff tried to get me to pay close to $50 more per month for a 24 month plan (which I don't even need) even when I brought up the actual prices online. On May 4, 2023 my husband and I went to the Xfinity store at 2840 Patriot Blvd., Glenview, Il 60026 at about 3:00 PM. We have been with Comcast/Xfinity for over 35 years. Our two year contract had expired on May 1, 2023 and we wanted to inquire about the best plan for us and what the price would be. We currently use internet, home phone and cable TV services. When we entered the facility 2 representatives were helping other customers and one was free. Yet, he said they were too busy to help us and there would be a long waiting time. We didn't see anyone else waiting. I said we took the time to drive over here, "Can't you help us?". He refused and wrote down a phone number and said to go home and call: 1-877-561-9413. We called the number while still in the store and the person who answered said they needed to bring up our account on the computer. After trying for 10 minutes he said he could not access our account because we are in the United States and that is not the area that his department services. He then transferred me to another location and that person was able to answer my questions, although getting the answers from him took about 30 minutes. All of this was very frustrating as we sat in the store, while none of the store employees would help us. Meanwhile the employee behind the counter was doing nothing and when other customers came in he also told them to call and he wouldn't help them. He was rude and uncooperative. We have never been treated so disrespectfully! We were still in the store on the phone with xfinity and before we left I asked him why he wouldn't help us. He turned his back on me and wouldn't answer. All of a sudden he had lost his voice and wouldn't even apologize for not doing his job. This whole experience was unprofessional and disrespectful . Horrible experience here! After waiting for more than 17 minutes, anither customer was served ahead of me and when I objected, the so called manager asked me in a very rude manner " What do you want?". I tried to explain my issue and then he said I had to leave the store. So, I decided to call Xfinity customer service for help and I was given proper attention. Store manager, apparently, did not like that and sent in a female African American employee to threaten me to leave or would call the police on me! She had not witnessed my interaction with the store manager so how could she decide who was at fault? While at the store, I noticed other customers were frustrated and started complaining as well. I purchased a new Samsung Galaxy S23. From the beginning, when I would make a call, most of the time the person I was talking to could not understand me since they said the sound kept breaking up. I tried all their support troubleshooting tips but that did not work. I went to this Xfinity store and they said the issue was a bad sim card so they replaced it, but that did not fix the problem. I went back again today and they said there was nothing they could do since they are only a reseller. I told them they sold me the phone and that it never worked right and I contacted Xfinity support within days about the issue. They still said there was nothing they could do. On a previous Xfinity support call, they hooked in Samsung support on the phone. They said I would need to mail in my phone for them to take a look at it.
