I've had Comcast Business Class service for many years, the quality of service has been excellent, the local techs have been great and always on top of things. Why the low rating? Ah, this is Comcast.... I'm moving. No problem, right? Wrong. I was forced to cancel my service due to an unfaithful spouse taking every penny while I (the stay at home mom) was left to scramble to find a way to pay the necessary bills. I told them that I am unable to cover any more bills because of what my husband has done and on top of that, they were charging more than the contract I signed said they were going to charge. I requested that they waive the cancellation fees due to the fact that I am unable to pay, I have no money as my husband took everything. I would not have cancelled otherwise. They told me they would have a supervisor call me by 1pm because it was taking too long to reach a supervisor while I was driving. No one called me so i called back and requested a supervisor explaining that I was supposed to talk to a supervisor yesterday. The rep who answered the phone pretended to be a supervisor after a few minutes and was extremely rude and told me they don't have to do anything and my 'bill' can just go to collections. I've spent YEARS getting mine AND my lousy husband's credit off the floor. He's doing everything he can to ruin my credit for the rest of my life and Xfinity is helping him right along. Not to mention their service the past few years has been the most horrific service I've EVER heard of. The 2nd year of service I had to fight with them for NINE MONTHS to get a refund for the SIX MONTHS I paid for top tier internet while receiving dogwater that couldn't support my doorbell let alone anything else. They 100% deserve bottom of the barrel reviews for their bottom of the barrel service. I am so happy to see other companies taking the initiative to provide competitive service at a much better rate and with REAL customer service. The cable bill... and their horrible customer service. You can feel the distress on my tone. I've had it. I wrote them a message, after talking to them on the phone. I spent 2 hours on the phone. Back and forth. I was exasperated and with chest pain, I hang up. So I decided to write them a message instead. Breathing deeply no longer helped. So, a couple of nitroglycerin pills under the tongue kept me alive. Me: Hi. I hate being late on my bill every month. I need to change the due date of the mobile bill automatic payments to the 3rd of every month. I told the rep that set-up the phones, that the bill had to be due on the 3rd, 4th or 5th of the month. She agreed and smiled. All my bills get paid on the 3rd of each month. Please change my due date for the 3rd. My husband will pay the past due bill this week. I got hospitalized for the stress this ordeal caused me. I dislike paying the $30 fee when you cannot process the automatic transaction. This is the second time I request the due date be changed. My experience with Xfinity was terrible. They make appealing offers that state internet speeds that exceeded what I ever got from them. Moreover, in order to obtain a more favorable rate, they have you agree to a long term contract. As if misstated internet speeds weren't enough, I strongly disagree with how they handled our discontinuation of services. I sold my house and I moved out of the service area. I would have stayed with them (even amid the misstated internet speeds) as they are consistent and I did not experience disruption of service. Their policy is that even if you move out of their service area, they hold you to the early termination fees if you are still in contract. I would understand paying the fee if I could continue to be covered by their services but I wanted to switch to another provider. Again, this was not the case for me. Since I entered into the contract with the understanding that they would provide internet services to me, and they could no longer do so at my new address, I feel it is unfair to force the contractual early termination fee upon me. The representative I spoke to asked if I were a member of the military, as this is the only way they would let someone out of the contract. I appreciate our servicemen and women who defend our country, but they are not the only people who move sometimes unexpectedly. Xfinity, please know that statistics show individuals share bad experiences far more than good ones. This service has steadily declined over the 2 decades I have been a customer. after today I am shopping for alternatives. Every time we have had an issue it is like pulling teeth to get anything done. they charge 15 a month for rental dont offer a purchase option so the 3 modems over the last 20 years cost something like $3588 or $1,196 per modem. Moving into a condo, could only locate one of the outlets, but self install kit didn't work on it. Rider came out the next day. Timely. Professional. Polite. Thorough. Took some climbing over & around things before we located external disconnected wires. He stuck thru it all till we had a good signal & did his due diligence to make sure both the internet & TV functioned optimally. read more

But to my pleasant surprise, a reasonably short phone call provided me with a next day appointment for service! It get's better. I wish I could give a 0! Both for the cell phone, internet & cable. I had their service for cell phone and was truly happy with it until I had to cancel. They then told me that the plan I was on didn't exist and raised my rates through the roof as I tried to get out of it - alas, I paid what they asked and took it as a lesson. I had moved out of state anyway and they don't exist where I'm now living. I was still using their internet/cable though for almost another year. I actually paid for 9 months without even being in my house just so I could use the ring doorbell. When I called to cancel the rep told me I would be receiving $117 in the mail because I had just paid the bill. When weeks went by and I ended up receiving a bill instead of refund I started calling them spending HOURS on hold. Every time I'd call they'd tell me I was receiving a different refund. At one point I asked to speak to a manager which told me to throw away the bill and my refund check would be $160. I did what he said. Weeks went by again, called twice, on hold for 45 minutes plus each time, no notes in the account about my "manager" conversation and they told me my bill was still waiting to be paid. Basically, the phone reps think it's a joke to play with people on the phone, tell them lies or pass the buck to someone else. Very juvenile and unprofessional! Now knowing Xfinity and the lack of service they provide, I followed up with them today to make sure they were coming out. Low and behold they dont have a record of service on the new property, and the order number I provided was a work order on the old property. This young man was kind and knowledgeable and even called me back on my number because the bad cell reception of my location kept breaking up the call. He quoted me an internet intro rate that was $14 less a month than the rep I talked to three days earlier gave me. He helped me set up my account and explained everything. If you cancel your service early they make it difficult to pay. I turned in my router at their store and they would not let me pay my final bill, they said they would mail it to me. They did not send me a letter like they said they would. They did not email me either. They sent it to collections the very next month after I CANCELLED MY SERVICE. Beware if you cancel your service that they do this, the only reason I was able to correct this is that I have credit monitoring. Horribly corrupt company!!! Update... I called them on the phone and paid my bill with them online, saw the charges on my credit card as I talked to them on the phone. They charged me three times. If I could rate Xfinity a minus 10, I would. I have been trying for three months to get Xfinity internet and cable tv installed in my home. As of today, after on-line sign up, telephone conversations, texts, emails, live chats and multiple visits to the Xfinity store, I am in exactly the same place in the process as I was when I first contacted Xfinity. The ONLY thing that has happened in these three months is that someone painted a white line across my lawn indicating where they were supposed to dig the trench. That line has since faded and almost disappeared. I have had repeated instances of promises broken, appointments missed, wrong equipment sent, and general frustration with Xfinity's competence. Unable to locate a phone number for support, and having my email questions ignored, I resorted to the "live chat" on line. I knew immediately that the person I was chatting with was not going to understand my question when the initial greeting said, "I please to be help you." I ended the chat and tried again. The next "chat" technician ignored my concerns and repeatedly assured me that their "dedicated staff" knew what they were doing and that my service would be installed as promised on the following day, in spite of the fact that nobody had bothered to dig the trench and install the necessary cable from the box to my house. read more

Hi me again...this just keeps getting better and better. In September of 2016 we received a bill in collections for a past due bill ($244 to be exact). How strange...we have had automatic payments the entire time and have never missed a payment. After over an hour on the phone they figured out it was a fraudulent account. Someone had opened an account in my husbands name in Detroit then never paid the bill. AWESOME! Oh, but all we have to fill out this form and fax in documents proof that you didn't live in Detroit. After digging up the very specific documents and getting a confirmation that the documents were received we are told that unless we hear back from them in 30 days, consider the issue handled. FAST FORWARD 8 MONTHS and we receive yet again another collections bill for $244. Husband has now been on the phone for 2 hours, has spoken to 6 people and we have been offered HBO for 6 months and free dvr for a year but no solution for the bill that has been in collections for almost a year for an account we never opened... read more

Their internet speed is fine, cable is fine, even going to their store is ok and the people are helpful, etc. Their phone customer service is horrible. If you can get through the annoying computer (say agent, agent, agent, agent...) you then have to deal with someone who only knows English from the script and they spend more time telling you how glad they are to be helping you then they do actually helping you. When you finally get to a real person they claim to appreciate your customer loyalty but can't seem to find you a decent deal to replace the one that just expired. Really? For two years you provided services to me that now magically cost $70 a month MORE??? How is that possible? You aren't giving me any products, just air. You are selling air that used to be $70 less a month. Could you come close to my old price for a couple more years? I'm deeply upset with the service that Xfinity internet and cable provides. I have had to call so many times for repairs or technical support that I should be given free cable for a year. It is ridiculous to pay so much for something that doesn't work 85% of the time. The month of March, I may have called in 15 times for the cable not working or the internet going in and out. I'm currently waiting on a technician to come out again today, because I'm experiencing error messages on my TV screens. I have been a loyal customer four 12 years. 12 years of payments to a cable company that included many, many, many channels that I have never watched (no idea what channel the Lifetime Network is on). This last month I missed my payment, and boom service shut down. 144 months of payment vs. 1 month of non-payment, and i am treated like someone who just signed up and didn't pay their bill. After a lengthy talk with customer service, transferred to a phone that no one answered, and I had to call back and go through the same stupid menu to talk to someone to get my service turned on. I am now looking for a new internet provider, and would suggest everyone else to do the same thing. Xfinity internet service here in Portland used to be okay, but lately it has become totally unacceptable. Going to 5G was supposed to make things better, but even though we have top of the line electronics our service is the worst I have experienced, including travels to Europe and Asia. I have to wait a minute or more for a simple link to load on any given day. Trying to get in touch with real support and not some chat robot is ridiculous.
