This has to be one of the most ridiculously frustrating companies in existence. And I am (thankfully) not even a direct customer. Do not do business with a company that will not even provide information regarding the costs of their services on their own website. Yes, you will be given their "special offer" to sign up, but just wait until you try to manage your service when the offer expires. Xfinity/Comcast has a monopoly on cable/internet services, so they can and do price gauge their customers. They charge exorbitant fees, often equal to the base price. A sports fee of $17 is included in these fees. I wanted it removed, as I don't watch sports. Was told no. Customer service is non existent. A call for service is an excerise in futility. A robot answers and verifies identity. Then go round and round trying to get to a person. Robot instructs she is starting a reboot (not reason for call) and to call back in 10minutes and hangs up! Call back and go through hoops again only to be told reboot isn't finished for one more minute, call back. Call back, 5 minutes later. Hoops, robot says all is fixed. Hung up! Call back. Hoops. Finally get a real person who speaks broken English. Try to explain issue clearly between clenched teeth. Issue not even addressed as he/she jumps into a sales promotion sell. After all this time, over 1 1/2 hrs. and major frustration. Issue not resolved and I hang up, and go to a store where I'm now patronized. Issue is side stepped with insincere apologies and a free movie coupon. I tried to use it, it had expired. All I wanted was to eliminate charges/fees that are unacceptable, and explain why the on-demand feature only works with a subscription to CBS all Access now. I'd give Comcast zero stars if it wasn't for the fact that they do have the fastest internet available, oh, and the fact that it's not possible to give a zero star rating. I understand that it costs lots and lots of money to maintain the network they've helped to build but over $60 a month for cable internet is and should be declared as flat out robbery. The fact that they only offer service with either a 2MB download speed or 16MB is also insane, how bout something in the middle? Don't quote me on those speeds but I know it's close to that. As for the customer service? wow! It used to be really really bad, where I'd call 4 different people and get different answers every time but I will admit that it does seem like they've put some efforts into improving their well deserved worst of the worst image. I still normally have to talk to more than one person when calling though. Some people seem willing to work with you and some still don't care. The fact that more people are not en-raged about the way comcast does business is what really concerns me. This review is for their customer service. Many many breakdowns in their system. I had cable TV installed and the gentleman on the phone gave me a date. Unbeknownst to me they decided to reschedule it for two more weeks out and never called me. They offered a $20 credit for not showing up or bothering to call. The Xfinity service is a joke. I called for problems with my service and they said it was something out of their control so I had to pay $79.99. I paid and they had someone contact me to help with the internet problem. 12 seconds into the call he determined he couldn't help me and I would be refunded my $79.99. Two months later and four calls later and I have yet to see the refund. I may have to call my credit card company back. Avoid if you can. read more

Be aware of contracts they place on your account! Last year, I called to see if I can lower the rising TV service price. They offered me a TV service that lowered my bill by some $20 per month, BUT, without telling me this was for 2 year contract. After a year later, the prices are rising again and I called to see what I can do to lower the bill. The rep tells me I'm under a contract and cannot change it. I asked him to show me the contract and he says I need to hire a lawyer to see it. WTF Comcast. I asked for an e-mail confirmation which arrived today; "Monthly Package, Service and Equipment Fees $139.99 One-Time Installation Charges $100.00 Taxes, Surcharges and Fees $19.03 Estimated Total $259.02" I called Xfinity/Comcast and was informed that I had to ALSO pay a "$100.00 deposit" making the total due IN ADVANCE of $359.02! The start of the pandemic Xfinity assured me we would not be charged for overages on internet usage last time i checked we are still in a pandemic. They call weekly trying to get me to add additional services and yet no one called to say the overages being waived are over. I changed my plan and i have been charged an additional 300 in fees that one smart person in csr was able to remove 70.00 i have filed two BBB complaints and they lied this last one they have not responded to because i provided proof they lied. i will file complaints with every consumer group possible! they give you the run around i have to call and say im disconnecting service just to get a person which i plan on it as soon as im able to get ATT which will be very soon. read more

Comcast is just plain terrible. Years ago, before the big corporate takeover, Time-Warner cable had at least a better customer service organization. Since the changeover, I had nothing but problems, with shoddy cable delivery, overpriced internet and horrid customer service. My issue was that I used to use an email address through Time-Warner's RoadRunner service, which I was generally happy with. Once the changeover happened, the email address promptly stopped working. I took the issue to the highest levels of Comcast's customer service management and still nothing was done to remedy my problem. Since this time, I have cancelled all Comcast services. I have my wireless internet through USI Wireless in Minneapolis (which is awesome and has great customer service... and CHEAP prices by comparison), and TV through a good ol' HD Antennae. I'm happier than i've ever been, and wealthier (those $100 monthly bills are outrageous). read more

About every 3 weeks, I get a notice in the mail that states "we reviewed your service and we failed to charge you the $5 a month for xyz, so we will go ahead and charge you more" OR "we reviewed your service and you are receiving an extra channel that we were not aware of, so we will go ahead and remove this". Every notice and I'm either paying more or getting less. Had we have known this when we picked out our package at that price, we would have gone with someone else! Very reliable signal delivery due to cables in the ground instead of satellites. Always friendly when I call for service. HERE'S THE PROBLEM: STOP COMPRESSING THE SIGNAL!!! I see noise and fuzziness, especially when watching sports. They do it so they can offer more channels, I get it. But the PICTURE QUALITY SUFFERS. Picture quality is what TV is all about. Is it better than 1972? Yes, but I go to restaurants and see a great picture and I ask. They usually say its DirecTV- the only one I haven't tried yet. Come on Comcast-fewer channels but better quality please! By the way, I don't watch 4/5 of the channels anyway but I don't have a choice. When I can I purchase channels a la carte? P.S. I have been a Comcast customer since 2007. My bill was higher this month. I called them spent 2 hours on the phone on my for them to tell me that I was getting an equipment discount but they no longer offer that because they phased the promotion out and want customers with older services to upgrade to higher costing services that include internet. I done even own a computer is internet is of no use to me and its nit right that they up my tv bill just to try and sell me internet too. Poor excuses and a waste of my time. Piss poor service from pissy idiots. I had Comcast when I lived in my apartment in Minneapolis with internet ONLY. But the first month I got my bill they had "packaged" my internet with phone and basic cable even though I had the order info that said 7Mbps internet. Well I copied and faxed that to the lady in customer service after she had asked and still each month I was billed for the package. Each time I called they had no idea what I was talking about. Finally after calling about it for 7 months I cancelled my plan and told them that they could send someone to pick up their equipment and scheduled it out. Well no one showed up for the following three times I asked them to, but low-and-behold on the last bill from them I noticed that they charged me THREE TIMES for someone coming to pick up the equipment when NO one did. Then they sent me 5 more bills for months of service I never used. When I asked them to send me a usage statement after I sent them a transcript of the conversation I had with the person during cancellation they sent me back a usage statement that had nothing on it, followed by a letter that said that I had to pay it anyways because they had never officially ended my service. After multiple times calling and bitching, and trying to talk to supervisors (which inevitably don't call you back) I ended up telling them that I would not be paying them the amount after I had provided MULTIPLE times the information requested and documentation FROM them. They have now sent my account into collection and when I provided the info to the collection agency the lady on the phone told me that I am "one of many going through this same thing with Comcast." Huh... she told me to wait for them to file a judgement and actually go into the court hearing to provide all of this to the judge. If anyone else is going through with this I would like to file a class action suit against Comcast and have contact the BBB about what they are doing as well. If double/improper billing were ethical/legal, and them literally trying to STEAL money from customers than they would totally get 5 stars. read more

How this company is nationwide and in business is besides me. Oh, that's right. They pretty much have a monopoly unless you want to get dish (provided your apartment allows it). No wonder they are trying to rebrand as Xfinity. I've got news for the Executives at Comcast...it's not going to work - people hate you, you have a horrible reputation for a reason. I had a horrible time just getting service set up when I first moved to Minni. Because the person who occupied my apartment before me had not paid her last bill, I had to put down a deposit on top of my installation fee. I signed up online for one of their internet specials. $30 for basic cable and a six month free subscription to HBO - great. Well, because of the above issue, I had to spend thirty minutes on chat with their customer service center while the idiot in India tried to figure out what the issue was. We finally got a date picked and I moved on with my life. The install date came and went without Comcast calling me or even showing up. Needless to say I was a bit pissed off but still, accidents happen. I then called the customer service line, but because I have a 206 area code, I kept repeatedly getting rerouted to the Seattle call center and the representatives were unable to directly connect me to the Minnesota call center. So, I had to sit on hold for another twenty minutes so that I could manually get connected to someone. The representative listened to my tale and got an install set up and waived the fee (after I requested it) because of the screw up the first time. It's been three months, I hardly watch TV and I called to cancel my service. Apparently I signed a TWO YEAR contract and I will incurr a $150 cancellation fee if I do stop service. I fucking hate Comcast. It's a physical representation of Satan in a company. Don't be dooped like me and sign up for anything through them. Or if you do, make sure you read all of the nine pages of fine print. read more

Well up until a few months ago I had no problems with Comcast/Xfinity, Then they started sending me notices every month that I have used up my bandwidth and now they are charging up to $200 more each month! This box is expensive. It is not for everyone and if you get behind on payments you will be very sorry. All of these conclusions are based upon an experiment I did against AppleTV. If you cannot live without sports, I have bad news for you. There is no option but to get a box. If you are not a sport butt, you can live with AppleTV with Netflix but you usually are three to four days behind broadcast. But what are you supposed to do for Internet? I did the DSL for a month and was seriously disappointed. Cable internet is vastly superior to anything with the exception of fiber. Xfinity box brings the best of all worlds into one box. We use our Verizon go pack bc our wi-if is so slow we can't download and watch an Apple TV movie or work from home. Every thunder storm our modem goes out and we pay our computer guy to re-do our network. We have had 3 modems in 2 Years. We pay $170 a month for what?!?! Why does Comcast get a cable monopoly? Are they in bed with the city? Why isn't Verizon FiOs in Minneapolis or Baltimore? I had it in nyc and loved it!! Direct TV is different. I don't want a dish on my home. Coming from someone who only has high-speed internet, I find Comcast to be extremely over-priced. The packages with cable (tv) and stuff seem to be more of a value, but I don't watch tv so it wouldn't be worth it for me. I seriously think people are over reacting when it comes to Comcast. They are definitely a little pricey, but I've been with them for several years now and not once have I ever had any sort of downtime or speed problems (I check speeds regularly). I don't use the TV much, but when I did I had to call customer support to get it set up. The lady on the other end of the line was pretty cool and we chatted about movies and such while things were happening (sending signals and waiting for reboots and stuff). In the end, everything worked, I said thanks and that was it. I play online games, watch HD Netflix and weekly video podcast and there has never once been an problem with my internet or service and have never encountered an asshat customer service agent either over the phone or in the store (the one in Richfield is where I go). read more

I was a customer with Xfinity until I moved. I really like the service and product. When I moved they did not offer service where I moved to. They told me they would wave a charge for canceling early as they could not provide me service at the new home. There was then to contact, no nothing, I paid my last bill in full. They sent me a bill for the early contract charge they told me I was not going to be charged for. I called customer service who was extremely rude, the guy even mocked me and laughed. I tried calling again a couple days later and even wrote a letter they never even acknowledged receiving. Finally a manger told me they would clear this up. Yesterday I received a collection letter telling me they want to collect these charges. I am very disappointed in Xfinity. They have poor communication and do not keep their word. read more

Xfinity Home security is GARBAGE!!! We got it installed in Dec-17 and it didn't work for a full month. The sensors started failing, customer services (if you can get a hold of them), just told us to change the batteries, which we did, but they keep failing. They were suppose to come and fix this, but then canceled and never showed up. We can't even cancel this garbage product because we get an early cancellation penalty of $30 per month or $540. I'm not a big complainer and I'm usually quite patient with businesses because I know that no person and no business is perfect. However, after the MANY, MANY issues I've had with Comcast, I'm done. I thought the third time might be the charm. I got the opportunity to switch to Comcast (or now they're calling themselves Xfinity) for a much lower rate that I was currently paying through CenturyLink and DirecTV. I actually, reluctantly, signed the form and had them come do the install. To make a very long, agonizing story short, when they came to do the install, the monthly price per service they had was completely different and much higher than the quote I got and had signed paperwork for. The installer was very nice, but unfortunately, I sent him away. If they can't even communicate correctly about what I was supposed to be paying, I wasn't going to take the chance that they wouldn't honor what they quoted me. So, I spent the next few hours on the phone with CenturyLink and DirecTV and was able to negotiate my bill down $30 a month AND....they gave me extra services! I will stay loyal to that!! read more

The worst customer service I've ever encountered. This is a typical scenario: When you call, you press "New customer" and get transferred to reps who promise you the world at no charge. As you receive your bill, you realize that not a single one of those promises is true. You call (usually waiting about half an hour) to question the items on the bill, but the reps on the "Existing customer" line tell you that the items you were promised have never been provided at no charge. You state word-for-word what was promised if only you become a Comcast customer. The reps tell you (in a not so nice tone) "Well, they shouldn't have offered that, can't do anything about it." Then after a loooong discussion, they tell you that they will remove the charges for you. You then hang up, expecting that the issue will now be fixed. You get your bill next month, only to find out that not a single one of the charges has been removed and there is a new charge for a "service transfer." What? You pick up the phone, dial the number, wait 1/2 hour.... The story repeats itself again. And then it repeats itself again. And again. If there is another cable service provider in your area, do yourself a favor and stay away from Comcast. read more

When we got Comcast installed at our duplex, they got our initial order wrong. It took twice as long to set everything up because of that. The man installing our internet said that basic cable would be included as he was setting it up. I later realized that "basic cable" is charging my account about $17 more. Plus, the installation fee is insane. Everything is over priced and not worth it to me, and to add onto that, their customer service is ridiculous. I tried to call and discuss my bill, but instead was on hold for over 50 minutes, then it cut out.
