My neighbor and I were talking about how our spectrum bills went up. We have exactly the same service from Spectrum. She called and was given a better price (was $100, now $40). She let me know so I called the same number and they said they couldn't do anything to lower mine. After escalating and lots more conversation, the person got me a bit lower, but I'm still being charged $25 more per month than my next door neighbor. I'm soooooooo sick of the crap with Spectrum. We disconnected our service over the weekend. We stopped here to return our equipment. We waited over 30 minutes on our lunch hour while there was 3 people helping customers. The line was not moving at all. We needed to get back to work so we decided to stop after work. Instead of being 5th in line we were now the 3rd in line after checking in. We waited almost 1 hour for them to check the equipment in which took maybe 3 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous! They should have a self serve option or be better staffed. Seems like most people that stop here are doing something with cell service. You should have someone that only handles non-cell related issues there was 2 people ahead of us both getting new phones or signing up for cell service. Have a better process and dont make people wait so many people came in and walked out. This is not a customer service focused location. read more

We haven't really had a positive experience with spectrum in the past 5 months. To start off we have had 3 different modems in the past 5 months which is ridiculous. We had a storm yesterday and there was a wifi outage (not power outage, just wifi) that began around 7 in the morning. We were assured that it would be restored shortly but it was not restored until past 9 pm, in addition to this apparently the storm "fried" the modem. It took over an hour waiting at spectrum to exchange our modem. Hopefully this one does not have problems in the near future... read more

I've had several internet/cable providers over the past 25 years and Spectrum is BY FAR THE WORST! The internet is horribly slow and they do not have fiber optics. I work from home and lost out on plenty of money due to the unreliable speed. When I cancelled my internet service the customer service rep said he could save me some money on my cable in order to keep my business. I agreed to this assuming it was their tactic to keeping business, but he did not mention that he would be removing my sports packages in order to do so. Total bait and switch approach and completely unethical! I've always paid for the highest level cable package with full channels, and I was essentially lied to considering he simply didn't feel the need to bring up he would be removing channels in order for me to save money. Trust me, you're better off using Comcast, Dish, HBCI, or any other provider you can find. It will be well worth it not having to deal with the headaches of slow internet and poor overall service! read more

I needed a one week extension on my bill in order to get my unemployment payments so I can pay it. They refused. They will cut off my internet while I am most vulnerable and just trying to survive. Our internet service is beyond horrible. I need to work from home but the outages are frequent and long lasting. Just now (11:30 am) I am told we should be restored by 1:30 pm. The rates for just internet are very high. I can't wait for Metronet to arrive, they are faster and cheaper with no rate hikes. read more

I'm so tired of paying too much every month for lousy service. Internet outages don't happen too often, but the cable service sucks. I often have channels that will be spotty and then just go out with the same error message. Every time I call I get the same unhelpful "advice", which is usually something along the lines of "do you need to update your modem/router?" Yes, that can sometimes be the reason, but it's ALWAYS the first suggestion and quite often not the solution. Troubleshooting over the phone is nearly nonexistent with one or two exceptions I can think of. Perhaps a policy change that includes a discount on my bill each time this happens would motivate customer service to actually help me figure out a solution. I wish there were better competitors so I can take my business elsewhere. Super disappointed in this company. read more

I had Spectrum cable and internet for years. Internet in particular was slow and prone to not working at all for no apparent reason. The third technician who came out to try to troubleshoot spent less than 5 minutes looking at the lines coming in from outside and told me that I had been sharing a line with our next door neighbor for the past 12 years (I was paying extra for a dedicated line). So they were double-charging both me and the neighbor, telling us both that we had dedicated lines. THEN, different service people came out when I got a new neighbor on the other side of my house and started digging a trench across my property without even ringing my doorbell to notify me, much less asking permission. I went outside and asked the guy in charge what they were doing, and he told me he was a contractor, and he was just doing what Spectrum told him to do. I asked for his boss's contact information, which he refused to give me but offered to call the boss and let me speak to him. The boss yelled at him (I could hear him yelling, but couldn't tell what he was saying) and refused to talk to me. I am an attorney and I know that whenever there is a "taking" (like them tearing up my property to run their lines), I am entitled to compensation. They sent me a prepaid Visa card for $10. Avoid Spectrum. They are dishonest (at best). I switched to MetroNet and have been very pleased. read more

Starting talking to another employee about how mad he was that I signed up online and told me to stop laughing when I was trying to lighten the mood. Had an online confirmed reservation on June 5th at 5:40 for the Spectrum store in Lakeville on Glasgow Ave. Confirmation number 24691341740. I arrived at 5:10 and found the doors locked with the sign outside saying they closed at 5:00. Two associates were inside helping other customers, so I knocked on the door to talk with someone about the confusion. I knocked two more times over a period of 10 minutes hoping to speak with an associate about my confirmed reservation. No one came to the door until about 15 minutes later when they were escorting their customers out. I was livid. I asked is this how you treat your customers? Not even showing them the courtesy to come to the door to find out what they wanted? If he would have come immediately, I wouldn't have been so angry, just frustrated. I explained that to him. He kept insincerely apologizing. I asked if there was anything he could do for my inconvenience? He replied no. He didn't even offer to talk to management about the online reservation system not in sync with their store hours. These two employees need training on how to provide quality customer service. Ignoring a customer who has an appointment is unprofessional and down right rude! I have worked in the service industry for several years. I, too, understand not wanting to deal with customers after closing, but I always treated people with respect. I DO NOT understand the dismissive treatment I received before they answered the door and during our discussion. read more

Spectrum has no problem emailing and texting except when they decide to raise your monthly rate. They will give you No warning. I would have caught it except without my permission they stopped sending me my paper statements (how convenient for them). I called them to get a $20. credit on the overcharge and was rudely told I would not be getting a credit. Also DO NOT give a Spectrum Store agent your credit card. I gave mine and within a couple hours my business card was getting unauthorized charges from online stores. I had not used that card anywhere else for over a week and I live alone so no one had access. I went through a lot to report the ID theft, get a new card and change all my business auto pays. Spectrum is so greedy that they could not give the well deserved $20. credit. I have my personal phone, business phone, internet and landline and wifi at my rental with Spectrum. Now I will be searching for other service. I guess $20. in hand is more important to them than losing a over 10 year customer. read more

This cable company monopoly is ridiculous. They treat the customers poorly and service is terrible. I have sat on hold for about 4 hours on 3 calls to get trey to get issues resolved and our Spectrum Voice (home phone) still isn't working after that. We had a technician out yesterday to finally hook the cabling up from the modem to the phone and it didn't work. The service was "ported" (switched over from the local telephone company) many days before. This started with a couple bad DVRs, one I was given that way and just lived with it, the other just kept giving us issues until it finally wouldn't boot up at all. When I went into this local store the counter person was polite and helpful. I asked about switching our home phone over to Spectrum from Frontier. It would be $10/month for that. He told me that once the got our number switched over, a tech would come out to hook up the telephone line, that didn't occur. They seemed to get the line switched over relatively quickly in the system because we were getting calls on our cell phone that the home phone wasn't working. I waited a couple day to see if a tech came or someone called about hooking it up for us like I was told and nothing. I sat on hold for 2 hours after being bounced around to 3 different reps, they must have been having issues or something. I finally made an appointment to have a tech out, but we had to wait 5 more days, all without a home phone. I had a funeral to go to without much notice which happened to fall on the day of the appointment but my wife stayed back to let the technician in. The technician came in, hooked up 1 phone in our laundry room and unhooked the line to the phones in the rest of the house. The problem was that even that phone wasn't working when he left. The tech told my wife to call to get it ported but it had been switched over and we have seen call attempts since Aug 26th through the web site. My wife called and waited on hold for over an hour and they said they would send him back and he didn't return! I came home and saw the technician hooked it up poorly, zig-zagging wires through a wire shelf and unhooking the phones in the rest of the house in the process. I am a technician myself and I tried to get it going and still no luck. Now i have to sit on hold for hours to get them back here to get it to work. I am sure that they are charging me for the service! I can't wait for SpaceX to get Starlink going so we can dump this cable service. Beyond annoyed. read more

When i called to find out where it was before the csr would help me she tried to cross sell me on mobile and tv and told me i could not go into store. I had Spectrum in Red Wing, MN for five years, since no other internet services were available at my location. Service over this time was ok, but not great, plus very inconsistent. The last two months, almost every day, my service did not work for several hours. It seemed after my disconnection request was entered, during the busiest part of the day, my home was deprioritized and no service provided. The real kicker was that they expect me to pay for 2 weeks of service after I moved. The reason I was given from customer service is they do not pro-rate. They have a monthly billing policy. I believe it is unethical for a company to receive duplicate revenue for the same service. That is what they are doing for the overlap when someone moves. I am expected to pay for the second half of the month, even though my service is turned off, plus they receive revenue from the new homeowners. I was very disappointed with the internet service and frequent outages, but the unethical billing and treatment of customers is appalling. I hope I never have to deal with Spectrum again. read more

My bill reached $215.00, per month. When I called I found out that I had all of these 'extra's' that I did not request. I originally called to cancel but their CSR offered me a package for $150.00 a month. Two months later, my bill went up $20.00 for something they called 'across the board'. If I could find a company, in my area, I would cancel in a heartbeat. I hate calling them because their CSR are not educated in solving a customers issues hence it is a one hour call, arguing with their reps. I hate this company. I would never recommend this company to anyone because of their lack of customer service and the ability to satisfy. read more

Customer service is terrible. I took a transfer form to the Spectrum store in Lakeville, MN and they refused to accept it because it was not notarized., but per page 1 of their form it is not required!! I am trying to set-up Spectrum service before my brother arrives from overseas. I was able to sign up for service for him over the phone without signatures, and the agent said can easily transfer when my brother arrives. Now I only receive impediments. This delay is unacceptable because he will be in self quarantine in his apartment for 2 weeks plus the 7-10 days it will take to get ported over. I volunteer for a non-profit animal rescue and I went into a Spectrum store to switch my services and the rescue's services to 'Spectrums new $59. per month for 2 phones'. That was in July. When I walked into the store I had two working phones and walked out with no service on either phone. When I called customer service to ask why the store would not make sure the customer has a working phone before they leave the store and she said "oh the personnel in the stores are only sales people". Are you kidding me! They set you up with service and do not make sure you have service! 3 stops at the spectrum store and 6 customer service calls (todays was just under 3 hours actually talking to 3 different agents) and I still do not have service! DO NOT sign up for Spectrum if you need to actually have a working phone! read more

Dealt with 3 different issues I had and went above and far beyond to help me get rid of no longer necessary cable wire and a junction box. If I could I would give spectrum as a company 1 star, but this location absolutely deserved 5 stars. I had to go in two days in a row because of new equipment and both Kevin and Tony had amazing customer service. By the end of leaving there the second time I had felt relieved and that my issues were actually taken care of, which is the first time in the 7 years that I've had spectrum. I highly recommend if you have any issues to go straight to the location itself rather than trying to sit on the phone and get the run around. read more

I canceled my service due to a rate increase, and apparently a few days later my account was re-activated by Spectrum without my consent or knowledge. 2 months later I was sent a text message and email that my bill is delinquent, I owe $200, collection action pending. After many phone calls with customer service my bill was whittled down to $28.94, apparently for one day over the billing cycle when I canceled (I actually cancelled my service well before the end of the billing cycle). I paid the $28.94 to get Spectrum off my back and not waste more time. Interactions with Spectrum customer service is only by phone (you can chat online, any substantive issue results in being given a phone number to call, there is no customer service email), so there is no documentation of the interaction other than your personal notes. Amusingly, minutes after my last phone call and confirmed account closure I received a phone call from Spectrum making offers to return as a customer. read more

I had called spectrum to let them know I would be discontinuing my service on July 29th 2022 because I would be moving and they did not offer services. On July 25th, 2022 while I was 250 miles from home my internet was cancelled because the new owner provided a purchase agreement that showed they will be purchasing the home on July 29th, 2022. So spectrum decided to just cancel my service on July 25th 2022. Now they can't get it back on even though its their mess up. Worthless Company! Go with Metronet if your in the area. read more

Frontier Epic Fail - Part 2 So then I call Frontier back, oooh I'm ready to wave this victory in the face of these monopoly pigs. I get in touch with a girl and I tell her that I want to cancel my Monday appointment because I am sick and tired of Frontier. She exclaims that I am not even a customer yet and I say EXACTLY, you suck even before I give you that first check, thanks for letting me know how awful your company is. I haven't seen so many dropped balls from even a team of blindfolded B-team third graders playing basketball with greased balls! She then goes into a bluster that I kid you not lasts for 20 minutes in which she says three things over and over: 1. So you want to cancel your installation because you found another provider? (No, that is not the main reason, the main reason is because you guys are terrible at customer service and basic troubleshooting and it drove me to your competitors). 2. I deeply understand what you are going through (no you don't...if you did you would quit working for such a failure of a company). 3. Our processors are working on cancelling your order (they sell fast internet but they must use dial up for their own computers). Then the biggest buffoonery of them all happens. The girl asks me if I would like to extend an invitation to sign up with Frontier to any friends or family I might know. Are you kidding me? I told her I wouldn't even extend that invitation to my most hated enemy, because no one should have to go through such hoopla for internet services. It would have been faster for me to invent my own internet than to wait for Frontier to get their shit together. Finally, their computer farted out my cancellation and I was done with Frontier. Frontier, you are a mockery of a utility company. All communication utility companies are the worst, but you are by far the lowest and truly most awful. I hope Charter eats you for lunch. To those who have Frontier as your provider, I wish you the very best of luck. _______________________________ Charter on the other hand was cheaper, faster and had much better customer experience. Even when we experienced problems with our internet, we had a guy come out that same night and fix the issue for us. My review is based on this location's service. Nothing terrible, but a little slow. I can tell that not many people actually stop to have their issues resolved here. Two other people came here while I was inside, both were just dropping off equipment. I myself just picked up equipment here. Staff is helpful, but you definitely get the sense that they don't want to help beyond pickups/drop offs and payments. I've experienced better, but I've also experienced worst. read more

I'm just disappointed and I'm not even sure this is a fair review. In any case, our internet went down last night. I called Charter and they trouble-shooted with me on the phone for over 30 minutes. Ultimately, we determined that the router was bad. So, they weren't able to schedule a technician to come out until Tuesday (this call took place on Saturday night). I work from home so this was just not acceptable. They suggested that I go to the Spectrum store by me to get a new router on Sunday, as soon as the store opened. I got to the store at 11:30am so that I could be the first person in the door when they opened at noon. Got in at noon, and was pretty much told immediately that they were out of routers and wouldn't get any in until Monday. Then, here was what turned me off... he said that I would need to make sure to be the first one there (there before they opened) because there would likely be a line of people waiting with bad routers. Ummm... WHAT?? How bad is your product that you already know there will be a line of people waiting because their routers are BAD?? read more

Literally the worse service ever! We switched over because they were getting some type of cable thing that was supposed to make it better. Instead we have barely been able to watch an episode of a show before it goes out. It works maybe an hour a day. We have just been using mobile hot spot and our cell phone data to be able to do anything. ​Pretty sure we are going to fight the bill and so glad tomorow we have a different provider coming out so we can have internet for kids out of school. Old technology, spotty performance and horrible customer service at their service center.

I had to give a 1 star in order to write a review but that is too gracious. Because Spectrum has a monopoly on this area, and this is the only brick and mortar near me, I am stuck having to go in there but their staff SUCKS, especially the Asian guy who has been horrific and the redhaired guy right on his heels. I have had a HORRIFIC experience with an online order that the one guy recommended WITHOUT explaining that their store and online are two different agencies that don't work together. When I went in a few times to try to get an update on where I stood in terms of being able to reorder, they were beyond rude. Again, I"m just a pee-on so it really doesn't matter but beware. they are nice until they aren't! read more

I am sad that I even need to give this company 1 star. Moving and charged an entire month of internet after I disconnected. Called in to disconnect and turns out my new billing cycle starts the day prior to disconnecting service. Oh no, don't tell me that while on the phone, just feel free to say since I had 1 day of service in the new billing cycle, I would get to pay the whole month! No probations either. Hey, Charter Communications: Here is an idea: Quit sucking. Make an effort not to be the worst internet company. Just try. I realize you're the only game in town, but try not to be smug about it. I have spent hours and hours and hours on the phone with these idiots- I've sat on hold, I've driven to their store, I've had techs out. Each time, I sit on hold for what seems like a decade, and start the whole stupid game over. After the phone tech comes up with their take on what my internet problem is, I get transferred over to customer service, to sit on hold for another decade...then tell my story again- the lost hours of productivity, lost time, and frustration, not to mention crazy cell phone bills since I can't use my WiFi at home. The last lady told me that because I had already generously been refunded $2.58 for a lost month of internet usage, there was nothing that could be eked out to give me a further refund. I am a patient man, but it was really fun finally telling one of these idiots what I felt. I'm sure it really was a game-changer for her. If you need me, I will be out spending my $2.58. I'm sure everyone will think I came into some big money. And no, I am not donating to your CrowdFund. This money is ALL MINE. read more

One of our dogs managed to destroy The cable cord. This all happened on Sunday morning and I contacted spectrum and had a technician out an hour after that. Not only did he repair the cords and make them less accessible to the dog he assisted us with some confusion around using a remote. Super impressed with the service that we received on Sunday morning! read more
