I've moved twice in Santa Fe and at both locations the comcast internet was so slow that I couldn't stream video content. After numerous "no-shows" (at both locations!) the technicians were not able to fix the internet connection at either location, so I'm working with slow-speed. Additionally, I've cancelled my cable because the image freezes so often I can get through a movie without resetting the box. Moreover, the only way to return the cable box is to wait in their long lines. Comcast is the single worst customer service provider I have encoutered in my lifetime. read more

I used Comcast for their Internet only, and boy was it bad! They promised us Internet for $20 a month, and after 1 year the price had gradually increased to $75 a month. Terrible customer service, and poor billing system. read more

Let me just say that, at this moment, I am MORE than pleased with the service of Comcast cable in Santa Fe. And, specifically, the serviceman, Daniel. We called because our picture kept tiling and cutting out, they arranged for a service call very quickly. The window was 8a-10a this morning. We got a call at 7:51a from Daniel who said he'd be here in about 5 minutes. He very thoroughly investigated every possible problem and discovered the cause, and fixed it. Don't get them AT ALL they are liars. They add things to your bill and then they don't even send your bill to you until it is passed due. Then they want to fight with you over it. One person tell's you something then other one tell's you something totally different. They don't care about their customers all the care about it getting your money. Oh and good lord don't tell them that they are wrong then they get an attitude and try to play that your the bad person. I would give them no star's if I could. You call and tell you our wait time if only six minutes but then your on the line for over an hour, waiting to speak to a customer service. Then when you try get your deposit back they tell you that you didn't need one. But when you have bank statements stating that they have your money, then they want to send a report to their internal people. DONT GET XFINITY they are a bunch of rip off's! read more

She says, "oh I see you are one of our most valued customers, but there are no specials available for YOU today. Please check back at a later date, maybe the end of the month". She did offer a special that would actually increase my bill. I pointed that out to her. I don't want more channels. I want to have a couple dollars leftover from my paycheck. They are one of the worst cable companies I've had to deal with. They have the worst customer service and agents like Judy in their payment services department that speaks to customers in a condescending tone. They monopolize the cable services and overcharge for their services. I got better services and channels with direct tv, but unfortunately unavailable in apartment living. In Albuquerque Comcast blows, have had two no shows from Comcast technician's, we waited 6 hours, The second time they were due to show up at 7 am for a confirmed appointment, which meant I was up at 6:30 to be prepared and awake, then was silly enough to wait for them for another 3 hours. Was scared to even shower in case they showed up. Soon as I can I am done with Comcast. Still haven't heard from them and can't get through to a human on the phones...Beware, don't trust the XFINITY! Horrible, if we could only put negative stars. If you do make it through the terrible line to get equipment good luck on it actually working or getting any service from them within a week. After hours of phone service they finally agree to send someone out (4 days later) and Internet works for a few hours then quits, still waiting on the next 4 days for them to come back. If there were other internet providers I would choose them. I have internet outages constantly which disturbs my work and streaming videos. This last year, I have one outage every 2 hours even though I was practically strong armed into renewing a contract for $54 a month for a year. I told Comcast that the service for high speed internet sucked here. Have they done anything about it? No. In fact one of their technicians was out here the other day and they left cable wiring all over the place in the complex. So, they are very sloppy. Concast is what they are. And, the internet is still going up and down all the time. I might check the Centurylink option, but Concast strongarmed me to do a year contract. Absolutely the worse customer service I have ever received!!! Never got service, either with Internet or cable but did get a bill for over $170. Canceled, yelled and then they asked well can we get another tech out there for you? Really!?!!! Are you kidding me? You charged me $14.99 for shipping the boxes to my house and then the tech was an absolute jerk and told me to cancel and now you want to send a new tech out and try and get it resolved? I've had the boxes for a week now sitting here collecting dust and need the Internet for my 4 college courses. DO NOT GET COMCAST!!! Terrible cable provider. Shoddy equipment, shoddy customer service, shoddy company. We've had Comcast for 4 months now and they've had to come to our house 3 times already to fix a bad router and 2 bad boxes. We had to send a remote back because it didn't work, and there always seems to be an issue that causes my cable box to reboot 4-5 times a week. And not at 3 in the morning...its between 6-9 in the evening when we actually want to watch TV. At least we never have to wait for the season finale for a cliffhanger. When we least expect it, 10 minutes left of Big Bang Theory, and BAM!!! Rebooting...This may take a few minutes. Gets old. Do yourself a favor and go with Direct TV. read more

When we moved, we had a $300 credit to our account, but they wouldn't send us a check nor could they seem to find our new account to link it to and refund us that way. I have called and spoken to people now twice who say that the check is coming and yet, five months out, we have no check and no credit. If I were to pay a bill this late, I would be charged hefty finance charges but they are dragging their feet on the credit. Also, when you call, there are so many automated prompts it takes ten minutes to get to a human. Then, the human seems to have little power over making things happen. Go onto their website and see if there is a place where you can write a letter to someone - anyone about your issue. There is no place to write a letter. You can chat with an agent but no one will read a formal complaint. This place has wasted so much of our time, I am going to look into our local service to switch. Also, when they were supposed to come out and bury a line, it took them months to do it. Very unhappy. read more

I've had comcast service for many years, and until recently, had very good service. Not anymore! They recently sent me a new, 'upgraded' modem; the wireless didn't work. So they sent me another. The wireless didn't work. I spent 6! hours on this stupid issue with the second modem, most of those hours on hold. Finally someone did 'live transfer' me to a person who could help with the issue--only to inform me that I would be charged for the service! So, let me get this straight--you make crap equipment, then you're going to charge me to fix it? I think not. I switched back to my original equipment, and demanded that a manager contact me about this abusive system. I was assured that I would receive a call no later than 2 days later. Of course that call never came. So, 10 days later, when I had several free hours to kill, I called again, demanding to speak to a manager. Hah!! Still waiting for that call....:-) I'm currently looking at my other options for internet and cable. Stay away from Comcast!! read more

If there is an award for the worst customer service in the world, Comcast will win it not doubt. Every time I call them for problem, it usually takes three agents and one hour to solve it. After all, there is a good chance the problem still exists. I spent two months of terrible frequent internet disconnections and calling them back and forth to solve the problem but nobody cared enough about it. They blamed it on the winter! BTW I live in New Mexico. I just spoke to lady around 3:38 PM NM time, she is very rude and very arrogant. They made a mistake and I had to pay the bill twice. She did not bother to say sorry and didn't want to help at all assuming she knows her job and can help. We moved to Albuquerque 1 month ago. Since that time we have spoken to the company on average 2 to 3 times per day trying to get cable tv and internet...about a hundred calls often lasting an hr or more.they set up an install date, then refused to install saying they had to dig a trench. (The previous owner weeks before had cable and internet with them). They said week 1 they had to apply for city permit and told us that over and over on many call. Last week I called the city. The company NEVER applied for the permit. They've set up many appts and no showed. A guy showed up at our door...no badge,unmarked vehicle and said he wanted to come into our home and yard and "look around" which we refused! They sometimes call and say well have cable in 2 days to 2 weeks. There is NO accountability from any employee...we've talked to different people every time. When we had Comcast in the Midwest they were honest kept appointments and showed up when they set up an appt...why does the attorney general of this state allow them to be licensed in the state when they operate so dishonestly. We didn't know if we moved to New Mexico that we might never have reliable internet again. How does a city of a million people function this way. We spoke with a large company in the ne area who said they've waited 3 years for Comcast to install services! read more

This is NOT a review of any particular store offering Xfinity. This is in reference to Xfinity's billing department - which is a NIGHTMARE!! If there were an option for ZERO Stars I would have selected that! When we first signed up for Xfinity's internet service we were offered a "special" rate of $64.37 (total). After one year, we received a notice that the special offer had expired. We were instructed to call to renew the special which we did - 6 TIMES in about a week! EACH AND EVERY TIME we called we were assured by the person who answered our call (6 different people) that the original rate was re-instated. We would then receive an email "confirming" our new rate. In the emails we received after each call the new rates listed included: $96.32, $91.32, and $88.61.) None of the emails showed the rate promised to us by ALL of the customer service reps with whom we had spoken ($64.37). On our most recent call, (call #7) after several minutes of accomplishing nothing with the customer service agent we were referred to the "Loyalty Dept." The gentleman who answered in that department proceeded to inform us that their "system was down" and that he would not be able to help for an unknown period of time. As it stands at the time of this writing, after numerous phone calls and much wasted time, our situation has still not been resolved. If you are considering switching to Xfinity - do your research! We are now looking to switch our internet provider. read more

Comcast Cable 1. I buy a new Tivo and have to go to Comcast to pick up a cable card so my Tivo can receive channels from Comcast. I drive to the local place, stand in line, and drive back with my card. Total time: 40 minutes. 2. The next day, I start to activate the Tivo. After four hours on the phone to Comcast and Tivo, it doesn't work. 3. They send a tech out to get my cable card on my Tivo to receive channels. He spends 40 minutes at my house, calls them to get the cable card to receive channels. They tell us it will take about 3-4 hours to receive the channels and everything will be fine. He leaves. In 3-4 hours, there are no channels. 4. I call Comcast. They tell me it shouldn't take 3-4 hours. I should be able to see if the channels are there in about 10 minutes. They sent the signal. We wait 10 minutes and nothing happens. Again, it doesn't work. They tell me it might be because the service is out in my area. I insist on an appointment anyway. They say they will resend a tech out, but they can't make the appointment, so they will transfer me. They transfer me to the wrong department. After standard long hold times and several transfers between departments (with long hold times for each transfer), I have spent over 40 minutes on the phone. I make another appointment so I can wait for another two hour window the next day. Meanwhile, I ask for some compensation on my bill. They offer 5.00 for my trouble, but finally give me 15.00 since on top of the trouble, I have two accounts at two different locations and neither location has had service for the last four hours. Surely that should be worh 15.00. 5. The next day, the tech comes back and spends another 40 minutes, while I wait at home for the 2 hour window for them to be there (total time for me: 2 hours & 40 minutes). He tries several things and we get a few channels. I don't check all of them, only a few. He leaves. Again, I am told it will be completed after 3-4 hours. At the end of 3-4 hours, I don't have anything but the local channels. I call Comcast again. Since I have other plans, it is 4 more days before I can set another appointment. I set another appointment and ask for a senior tech. 6. Four days later, I wait for another two hour window. The senior tech shows up at the end of the two hour wait and works on the problem at my house for two hours (total time for me: 4 hours). During those two hours, he waits on the phone while Comcast routes him back and forth between people and departments. He spend large amounts of time waiting to be transferred or called back. No one knows how to fix it. At the end of two hours, he says there is nothing more he can do today (it's past 5:00 o'clock). We agree to a time tomorrow of between 10:00 and 12:00. They assure me they will send a more senior person out tomorrow. I insist on the same person because I do not want to recommunicate all the issues. They assure me the tech the next day is more senior and will know exactly what has happened and where they left off today. 7. The next day, the phone rings with Comcast confirming an appointment for between 8:00 and 10:00, not 10:00 and 12:00 like we agreed upon. I have now set aside a four hour window. The more senior tech walks in the door and asks me what is wrong. I stare of him dumbfounded. They didn't tell you where we left off yesterday? No, they didn't tell me anything. I am probably going to be switching from Comcast very soon. Ever since the Xfinity B.S. has invaded Albuquerque in an attempt to rebrand terrible products, customer service, and prices under a new name, everything has become steadily worse. The speed on the internet is slow and we live in town. We often have to choose between using Netflix or playing Xbox and the proxy often fails when I am trying to engage my law school platforms. (It is slightly less spotty than UNM Wi-Fi but much slower.) These last three weeks have been the worst. I have had to do technical support with three "experts" over chat, only one of whom tried to be helpful. Two of them didn't recognize that the second router in three weeks was also bad, one of them took a fifteen minute break in the middle of our 30-minute support conversation then quit it because I was power-cycling at his command for the second time that conversation and had no free hands to get back onto my phone to answer him quickly enough during the 50-second window, and the third did everything she could to get us on track. When I called in, they didn't have the ability to transfer me and after making a series of phone calls I completely gave up. I think my favorite moment has been when it communicated with my router and nothing was wrong with my router but then it stated I had no router of any kind. When I went on Tuesday to exchange the second broken router for a new one, I was informed that ALL Comcast routers are refurbished--so that fee you're paying every month is for the privilege to cycle through everyone else's garbage that they have already turned in for not working. I waited for an hour--where there was no sitting room, it was very loud, the on-site internet was shoddy, and they kept messing with the TV you couldn't hear to show people what they could be buying--and I was only number 19 on the list of almost thirty people. My wait was shortened because at least five people ahead of me had completely given up hope and left. When I finally made it to the desk, I was told that the XfinityWiFi Hotspot running through my house only when I plug in the modem is entirely coincidental, even though it doesn't show up when the modem is not plugged in. Not only am I paying for crap service and crap internet, I am also paying for the privilege of providing free Internet to my neighbors. I don't care if it theoretically does not impact my usage, it bothers the Bejesus out of me that I have to pay for the privilege of opening up my router to viruses and everything else because Comcast can't be bothered. (BTW, if you call and ask them to shut it off because the option through your account is a lie, you are told the same thing.) And, guess what? Since October of 2014, Comcast has initiated a bedtime on our router--at 10PM it shuts off Internet service. If you hit that WPS button on the top to "reset" it per thr onlone instructions, you get the privilege of doing a factory reset on the router each and every time--Holding down the reset button with a pen for a minimum of 50 seconds, allowing it to reinstall the firmware for at least 20 minutes, having to convince the administration portal that what you really want is secure Internet by doing the ten-minute set-up--and then having to reset the connection with ALL devices you wish to access--SmartTV, Roku, tablets, cell.phones, laptops, printers, router extenders, etc. It doesn't sound like a lot but if I'm not the one trying to power cycle the router, mistakes happen and I'm the one having to do it sometimes three times a day IN ADDITION TO at least four power cycles when the internet times out. I'm done. I am so done with Comcast. When I was in undergrad I had the pleasure of meeting one of the VPs of Comcast here and he assured me that these problems were all things of the past. It has been almost 7 years and things have steadily gotten worse and I notice he hasn't worked there in at least five years. I am absolutely ready, willing, and able to move to DSL knowing that I will still have to make many of these same compromises but for a cheaper price, no Comcast-mandated bedtime, and having it steady. Everyone I know who has switched has not only not regretted it but celebrates being free from the tyranny of Comcast. My body, my soul, and my conscience are ready. (I should also mention that I am having to post this from my T-Mobile phone because it is the most reliable source of Internet in my house. For anyone with T-MoFail service, this is meaningful.) read more

XFINITY: The company is a nightmare to get something solved. Their Customer practice is unethical. For example, they first offer on the phone an XFinity Home (an alarm service for the house) as a free service included in the service. Then, when the workers come to install/fix the service, they bring an agreement of 2 years to sign. After that, it begins a nightmare of constant phone calls, asking you why do you cancel. In the meantime, the worker who came to fix/install your system can´t go on working. Today, we spent more than 50 minutes, answering the same questions to 3 different Xfinity clerks trying to sell us more stuff. After that, you just want to get rid of them as quickly as possible: the phone clerks insist that they have to talk with the owner (you, looking your clock to rush somewhere) again, and again. Besides, at the point that you were able to have somebody in your house to just fix the speed of your internet service, you have talked to at least 10 persons, you even walked in their store, you still don´t have anything solved, and your account climbs again because nothing that you agreed "is in their system". read more

I have spent hours on the phone with numerous representatives, including supervisors, who all tell me they can't do anything! All to simply get them to follow through on what I was told when i signed up! Someone needs to send this entire company to Customer Service 101! read more

I wish I could give you -10 stars to eliminate the 5 star rating you currently have. My experience with comcast has been horrible. They made a SERIOUS mistake on my order and rather than trying to make it right, they made me drive to Santa Fe to pick up a modem, charge me an installation fee, and then give me a 14 hour window to when they would arrive to fix their mistake. I understand that mistakes happen, but the way I have been treated is insulting. if there were any other options for internet, I would never deal with comcast again. At first when I just had internet and a promotional price it was well worth it. I was paying $40 for i think 15Mbps, but was getting usually 30MBps. But after I moved across town I have had nothing but problems. Very often I had internet down times and the only way to fix it was to "reboot my modem and router" as the technician explained. Trying to get everything set up was a pain in the butt and I had to have technicians come by my house more than once because they never fixed the problem; they just left. Trying to get a second box set up for cable tv has been a nightmare. I tried self activation but it didnt work. I then tried to chat online, but the 'technician' left the chat room and again never solved the problem of me having working cable tv. ( I even saved a screenshot of it for my records.) I called comcast after this and after finally getting a hold of an "account executive" and tried to start explaining to her what my problem was I got hung up on. After calling back to speak to a supervisor I have been on hold for 20 minutes now... Im sure after this call, my rating wont go up. Thanks so much comcast. You suck!!!! read more

Horrible Service, I had a technician come to my apt. to add service to another room in the apt. He had to extend the cable wiring from the living room to the bedroom along the wall. He was upset that the job entailed a bit of labor. He only had black cable wiring, so I asked if he had white (the walls in the apartment are white) and he said no, but he would make another appointment if I wanted white. I work and I can not be on their schedule. The box that he gave me doesn't work properly, and he saw it breaking or "tiling" when he set it up. I was so uncomfortable by that time that I just wanted him gone. I called tech support as soon as he left and the lady asked if the box in the living room was tiling as well and I said no. She was polite and said that she would call the tech and have him return to change the box. I told her that I didn't want him in my house. I would wait to see if it would clear up later. The next day I called tech support again and the guy was so rude that I hung up on him. He initially took me through steps to see if it was in fact the cable box and nothing changed. So I complained about the black cable wiring going across my ceiling walls and around my door entries and he said that if I wanted to change it to white I could go to the office in my area and pick the cable up and change it. I told him to forget it just set up an appointment to have someone come and exchange the box. He then said if he sets up an appointment and it is not the box that is the problem there will be a charge for the service. I just paid $50.00 to have the wiring and a defective box installed. I wasn't going to allow a customer service agent treat me as if I were an idiot. I was so angry that I told him that I hated Comcast which I do and hung up. The service here in Albuquerque, NM is the worst. Because I live in an apartment complex that does not allow satellite dishes I can not change companies. read more

I recently had Comcast Internet and HD TV (I previously had Basic cable) installed. So far, the internet is all that was promised and a little more, in terms of speed, The HD TV is very disappointing, not for the service but for the ancient and ridiculous HD DVR I was supplied. It is huge (does not fit in my cabinet) and heavy, and generates a lot of unnecessary heat. A "smart card" slot, for God's sake! And no, not one, HDMI output, just a provision for a thick (2 inch), inflexible, component cable. I have seen small, light, fully modern HDMI DVRs provided by Comcast in other areas, but not in Los Alamos! They have them in Santa Fe, 40 miles away but "they won't work here." 60 people on the waiting list for a HDMI box, and the local office "hasn't seen one in three months." And when and if it arrives, it will be the same box, just with a different connector!! This is really stupid, Comcast provides it's worst service in their network to one of the most affluent counties in the country!! Is it really too much to ask for up to date technology?? Comcast corporate management is to blame for this stupidity, and Corporate VP Rick Germano's statements about "Your satisfaction is my number one priority" ring pretty hollow. The best I could get from Comcast is that they will put the issue on a system that asks management to look at it. Great. Give me a state of the art HD DVR with HDMI connections!
