Her nail salon is located in the heart of downtown and directly across from one of the parking decks the city gives two free hours for. So it always works out perfectly. Her salon is clean and intimate. You are in there just the two of you for privacy and peace. I bring my work laptop and she allows WiFi connection so I can work during my service. She is truly an ARTIST. So your nails will be a work of art! Every time I go I get something completely different. But most importantly she cares about the HEALTH of your nails. I am fortunate to have long natural nails and she has a service that helps me maintain the length and strength of my natural nails. She cares deeply about her craft and the products she uses she vets extensively. She is constantly learning and bringing what she learns to her business. I will continue to be a loyal customer. Although she has the usual polish and gel, I get Dazzle Dry. It looks like gel and lasts for 2-3 weeks or more. I am fine with a little nail growth because it doesn't chip like other nail polish. You don't have to use that red drying machine and it dries very quickly. It's really amazing. My nails are much healthier since finding Mako about a year ago. I fully recommend her and my friends that have gotten their nails done by her are now regulars.

I love this place…read more After a year of coming here I have had my nails done by many of the different nail techs and each time I have been impressed by how much they seem to care about the job they are doing. With that said, there are varying levels of skill at this salon. Just like you would find at any salon. You can pick a specific nail tech of your choosing if you prefer. Cynthia, the owner, is wonderful. It's not easy to run this sort of business but she does a great job and genuinely cares about the customers and her employees. You can tell by the regular laughter floating around the place. I will keep coming to this local salon for a long time to come.

I walked in and let them know about my appointment, I saw them check their book and confirm I was on there. She then told me to check in on the kiosk and pick my color. I followed the woman to a pedicure chair where she informed me that I shouldn't sit there and it was for someone else. About two minutes later, a woman walks in and thanks her for squeezing in an appointment. Wow. She tells me to go speak to the manager. He asks can I wait because there are three other people ahead of me, I said no I really couldn't and that's why I made an appointment. Very, very disappointing experience. Why let me check in for my appointment but then don't service me? Why was another woman with an appointment serviced before me? Why was there no real solution offered except wait for an undisclosed amount of time? I thought people were friendlier down south but clearly the businesses are not. 0/10.
