So much fun!! Booked the game over room because all other times for the other room were full. Had such a good time with my team of 5 (got out with only a minute to spare) and can't wait to go back to try the steam punk room. SO MUCH FUN!!!! Went with my wife and her family to try the Game Over room. Excellent escape room setup. It's based off the movie Pixels so it's all sort of 80's arcade themed. It was challenging enough to be fun without making you frustrated. Just remember to not over think the puzzles. My husband and I have done about 30 escape rooms, many of which were done in California. We have done 3 of the 4 escape rooms that Xcape Adventures has to offer and we have been extremely impressed with not only the puzzles in the games but the thought put into the games. All 3 rooms we have done have the difficulty needed for the escape room veterans to have a good time and a challenge but also aren't too complicated where they are impossible to figure out without a hint. You can tell that Xcape Adventures puts a lot of thought into their rooms. So far, being in the area, we would say Xcape Adventures is our favorite escape room location. We had 4 people for Steampunk and Dr. Gene Etics and just us 2 for Captain Skully. All 3 rooms were challenging and we were able to get out with less than 10 minutes to spare but we are also very stubborn with our clues and do everything in our power to not use them. You will definitely not be disappointed when you book with Xcape Adventures. Wonderful family owned escape room! We completed Dr. Gene Etics with another couple whom we had not previously met. Plenty of simultaneous puzzles and opportunities to work together. Most puzzles required cooperation, so nobody was standing with nothing to do. We have done several escape rooms across the country, and we felt this was a great room. read more

Xcape Adventures was definitely the best experience I've had with an escape room yet! I thought that I would have to go all the way to Dallas to get a good escape room, and I was delighted to find one so close to home. I went with my family, and we tried the pirate room. Very good choice for beginners. We were a group of 5, and I think 4-6 people is a good max, since after so many people it gets too hectic. But the reason I'm giving this place 5 stars is not only because of the quality of the venue and the experience, but because of the man behind everything. It was so clear that he put thought and consideration into all of his puzzles and rooms, and he was so passionate and excited to share with us the new rooms he was working on. Truly warmed my heart. We had a private group of 9 for Captain Skully's adventure. We escaped with less than 10 seconds to spare (the failure recording was starting just as we opened the door). This was by far the most imaginative and interesting escape room anyone in our group had been to, and between us, we've been to quite a few places in Dallas and elsewhere. They also told us this was their easiest room! Will definitely be back to try the other adventures, and it also seems like they change up the rooms regularly so you can keep coming back. read more

Had a great time at this place with my party of 9 people. Our ages were very diverse, but we were all able to participate and have a good time. The rooms were themed which was awesome, we had a Star Wars theme. The puzzles/clues were challenging but yet still were possible for us to complete them all on time. I will say that we had a few issues with some of the locks/clues and were able to bypass a step but then we were stumped until this was discovered that we hadn't passed that step correctly and needed to redo it. The staff was awesome and very accommodating of our group. The rooms for the most part were large enough for our large group to all gather except at the end...no spoilers here. A couple things I look for when booking one of these escape rooms is multi-chamber (multiple rooms within an escape room) and a room theme with immersive decor and staging. This is our third escape room with the same group of 6 people. All of the rooms made you feel like you were transported to another time and place. Not just an office room with white walls, fluorescent lighting and a few posters and props thrown in the room and up on the walls. I see plenty of those popping up in the DFW area. Typically escape rooms that don't show pictures of their rooms are hiding their shortcomings (in my opinion). Taking pictures of the inside of the rooms are not giving anything away and really showcases what they have to offer. So Beware when you can't find any pics on the web or review sites. Secondly, I hit on the multi-chamber aspect because it extends the excitement felt when entering an escape room. If you're stuck in one room for 60 minutes everything gets repetitive. But when you solve all the puzzles in a room and it opens into another room and possibly a 3rd room, it's like a whole new adventure. Makes you feel like you're actually progressing through a game by moving forward versus staying stagnate. I bring up these two very important aspects when choosing an escape room because this place nails it on both fronts. With so many of these escape rooms popping up, make sure you do a little research so your group has the best time possible. It's not cheap, so make sure you get your money's worth. Make sure you put Xcape room on your top 3 to go visit. read more

My family had the opportunity to check this place out recently. We were looking for something family friendly near by & not to expensive for a family of 6.. This place was just that! We got to pretend for an hour that we were locked in a space room and couldn't get out till we found the key. It was a mind puzzle for us all to interact with. My husband was the team captain and my 8yo kept track of the clues we found. I can't tell you much more about the game itself or I'd spoil it. You really gotta check it out for yourselves! We were given clues that helped us figure out the puzzles ourselves. There was a lot of work put into these rooms, the puzzles and clues. I had been looking for something to do with my team at work for a team build. When I heard about XCape Adventures, I thought it would be perfect. It did not disappoint!!! We did the Steam Punk Room and managed to solve it with only a few minutes to spare (but only after being supplied with our three hints). It was challenging, but not impossible. There were of 4 us and we did the Captain Skully room and it was difficult! Well put together, challenging clues, and only a 25% success rate. We did not make it out on time but would definitely go back if we are in the area again. I have only done one other escape room, and this was significantly harder. Great time! read more

I took the board of directors of our newly-formed neighborhood association to Xcape Adventures for a team building exercise. We did Contagion, mostly because of the number of scientists in our group. While it was both the hardest and least favorite room according to Xcape staff, we really enjoyed the experience and only wish we'd had more time to solve the puzzles at hand. I've played two of their games: Dr. Gene Etics and Captain Skully and enjoyed both thoroughly. I've done over twenty escape rooms and a close friend of mine who I normally play with has done over 175 and he also enjoys their games! They are very interactive and pretty high on technology which is fun! The scenic is great and puzzles are different and innovative. 11 of us went (wouldn't recommend more than 8) as a part of my Halloween birthday party on 10/31/15. We really enjoyed the Steam Punk and were pleased with the price and of the space the escape room. 11 was really too many people, but the owners were extremely flexible about that part and only charged $20 extra per person, which is on their website, so that wasn't a surprise. I personally wish that Xcape Adventures would allow people to book individually online because I don't mind doing these rooms with random people. Also, having my friends settle up with me in cash would have been avoided (2 never did, but oh well). Overall, we had a great time! Lot's of surprises and twists. This was awesome! We booked a late time slot (9:15 & 9:30) and getting to the place seemed a little shady. Once we got in, the people were very friendly. I got a group of 14 and split 7 vs 7 (girls vs boys). Girls in the space room and boys in the steam punk room. Being in the space room, we got out with 3.5 minutes. The room itself is a little on the dark side but pretty clean. It was such an adrenaline rush at the end watching the clock run out. Everyone had a great time! read more

We have tried around 15 escape rooms, and Xscape Adventures is by far the best! Rooms and puzzles are original (not a kit), there are always multiple rooms to open and explore, there are mechanical aspects in the rooms not found in other escape rooms (where you just find lock combinations) and the owners are great. Our family had such a good time--we're still talking about it! We spent an hour trying to get out of the room and about three hours "debriefing" after the event.
