The room that we did (Principal's Office) wasn't correctly set up. We ended up solving a 60 minute room in under 30... But only because key puzzles were solved purely on accident. Random magnets popped doors open prematurely, and cards weren't erased properly after previous users ( you could still see the writing from the last team). We could have overlooked some of this as flukes... But Amber, the "gamemaster" was patronizing and unhelpful. She wouldn't even take the time to explain how the puzzles should have worked. Instead, she claimed she had to get the room set up for the next group, and didn't have time to explain things to us... With 30 minutes still left on the clock! When you're spending the kind of money you are on an experience like this, the least one should expect is courteous, helpful staff, and a game room that works Save your time and your money. Go someplace else. (Only giving the place one star because I can't post anything otherwise).

The…read moregames were easy to understand and were the kinds of games that you couldn't really study for or be naturally good at, so everyone had fun working together. The host and staff were very energetic and enthusiastic, which added to the fun. I'd absolutely recommend for a team building event, or other type of gathering - birthday parties, friend groups, the like. This is especially great for groups - we had 30-40 people.

He answered all of our questions before we started and made sure to set a light tone for our time in the escape room. It was in a single room, plenty of props to keep them busy for 60 mins. You are assigned an assistant who they loved and was super helpful.

Our group is pretty experienced at escape rooms, so we solved it in 35 minutes with zero hints. However, I would say the Clue room was objectively on the easier side for people with escape room experience. This logically makes sense because if Breakout is partnering with Clue to make this room, they're going to want people to complete it. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll just end with this: I liked how the Clue room wasn't a completely linear progression in terms of tasks that needed to be accomplished. Certainly doable in a group of 2, but I'd recommend a group of 4. (And probably no more than 6)

I have visited the Los Angeles/ Korea Town location in the past but only tried Cannibal's Den there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Here in the San Diego location, I was able to play the Cannibal's Den 2.0, and their Malediction room. Cannibal's Den was less cerebral puzzles and more physical puzzles that felt more like you actually escaping from a cannibal. Was it scary? Sure, but I'm used to Halloween haunted houses/mazes and enjoy those as well. This wasn't as intense as those though so this should be more accessible for those that don't enjoy jump scares. And Malediction, it's a unique game similar to a fantasy video game where you have to find something. There are magical moments that I will not spoil, and yes there are some live actors but they do not scare or attack you. Just very interactive. I have yet to play their other games at this location and can't wait! Also, Arah and Maddie were fantastic hosts. They were quite interactive especially in Malediction, their fantasy adventure themed room. And don't forget to use the restroom before you start a game! You may be in your game for a full hour depending on your skill level! And as always, have fun!

I have done all but one of the rooms here and my wife has done all but one as well (different ones…read moreand it totally sucks because now we aren't finishing them). They have 6 rooms so you have a lot of choices. It is located in a fun center called Shennaniganz so you can also do bowling, arcade, axe throwing, laser tag, pointless ball and more. They also have good food and a full bar with drinks available at the escape part also, so you can do dInner, drinks, and rooms all in one place. Having a lot of rooms means you can choose one with difficulty to fit your group, and they are a chain with good production value. I'll give it 7/10 production value. The puzzles are well though out and logical so you aren't left frustrated with nonsensical leaps. This is a great introduction to escape rooms and was the first place I did an escape room, so I guess I owe them many tanks for igniting the passion for my hobby. Overall, it's a good place to do rooms, but I wouldn't consider it a high priority destination for experienced er enthusiasts. Definitely great to have locally though and waiting for them to change up some rooms. Rumor is they are going to make a scooby doo themed room next.
