We pre-booked our adventure and completed the waivers ahead of time, which made check-in incredibly smooth and quick which is always a great start to the experience. Each room is rated on a difficulty scale out of 10, and we chose the Budapest Express, which has an 8.5 rating. Once inside, we watched a couple of short introductory videos that set the scene, and then the timer began. We had one hour to solve a murder mystery involving five train passengers, all of whom were suspects. The setup immediately pulled us in and created a fun, immersive challenge right from the start. During the adventure, you work your way through a series of clever puzzles by collecting clues, cracking codes, and unlocking various mechanisms along the way. Every step feels interactive and keeps everyone engaged. If you ever find yourself stuck, there's a giant red button you can press to receive a clue, which is a nice touch that keeps the game moving without taking away from the challenge. There's also a bar on-site where you can grab refreshments before or after your game. It's family-friendly, offering a mix of snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, along with a selection of alcoholic beverages for those who want to unwind. Overall, the experience was immersive, well-organized, and a lot of fun, and perfect for groups looking for something different, engaging, and memorable. We came in for the Haunted House escape room. We had an amazing time playing at Escapology. We escaped with 3:33 left on the clock. I loved the aesthetic of the place, and the decor inside. They have a bar area where you can order drinks. The escape room itself was pretty awesome, and well thought of. I loved the Haunted House bracelets you get at the end of your escape, which is cute little detail. I like that you get an unlimited amount of clues, compared to other escape rooms. Our staff member was Zoey and she was the sweetest. Parking is validated up to two hours at the garages nearby. I will definitely be returning, and totally thinking of booking it for my birthday. read more

They are rude. The rooms don't give clues to know what you're are doing. Staff is not knowledgeable and they do not give clues to help and that make sense. They act annoyed when they don't keep up with your pace. read more

My friend and I did this just the two of us and it was so fun! We did the Norco themed room and had so much fun! The game masters gave unlimited hints (which made us a lot less stressed lol) and they were super kind! We will definitely be coming back! We had a wonderful time. There were 6 of us, we worked well as a team to solve the different puzzles. We did the 7 Deadly Sins challenge, finishing it with 17 minutes to spare. Great detail in the rooms with some challenging details to figure out. There were 3 separate rooms with multiple things to work on. This was our first escape room for 4 of us. I came with my family to do the Budapest room, and we had a great time! Though we didn't have time to sit, the lounge was very cute and well decorated. My mom and I are big fans of Agatha Christie so we really enjoyed the room theme, and I found the puzzles fairly manageable (although as a tip, it's helpful to keep your evidence organized). The hints are given through a screen in a room. If we're ever in the area again, we'll be back to try a different one! read more

We went to an escape room years ago, while visiting Dallas, which either was a start-up or compared to this one, looked like a start-up. This place is nice. And there is a nice room to lounge while playing Jenga if you're there early or hanging out afterward. It was fun, especially since WE ESCAPED!!! It was sorta a meh escape room; the exterior (I.e. waiting room lounge) was decorated nicely. However, they were severely understaffed when we went. When we walked in, a few of the employees were already talking about their shifts being over and nearly out the door themselves. This affected our experience, where our hostess even mentioned that we may need to be patient due to only she and another staff member being the only employees. This was a problem later on. We did the Scooby Doo room, which was fun especially as a thematic escape room with a mix of 6 veterans and newbies in our party. We flew by the first few puzzles until we got stopped dead in our tracks by a puzzle that was either broken or required an active staff member to unlock it manually for us. We burned through about ten minutes of time and lots of frustration before using a hint and asking for help. After a minute or two, the staff member typed in a clue to the puzzle we already solved, and after we told them we already solved it, they offered a clue to the puzzle we were working on, which we actually already knew and didn't need. After a lot of confusion, the staff member manually released the puzzle we needed. Secondly, we solved another puzzle but didn't realize it was solved because nothing moved or made a sound. We only noticed a tiny opening in the hidden door that was unlocked and had to slightly pry it open to reach the next room (don't worry, it's not a spoiler as our hostess actually informed us about the door and room). We would've been stuck for a while until we discovered the door has been opened a crack (most escape rooms make an obvious sound or released doors swing open noticeably). Lastly when we finished the room, nobody congratulated us or entered, nor did any door open to reward us. We had to open the "always unlocked" escape door, walk to find an attendant, and ask if we actually finished the room, which we did. All of this I blame on their lack of staff. Had there been an active and attentive staff member watching us (or at least doing shifts), we would've solved the room with a lot less frustration and wasted time, and more of a satisfying finish to our game. To clarify, I don't blame the staff themselves. I'm sure they indeed tried to rotate themselves around the room to mitigate their lack of numbers since there were only two of them. It's a problem of management and scheduling, and I hope they either hire more staff or schedule more employees when they're needed. read more

We came here for a date night, as we love escape rooms! About 30 minutes in, the final hint was just written on a whiteboard, and the game was over. This was obviously an oversight of whoever cleaned the room, left over from the previous group solving the hint, but we were really bummed, because we paid to solve the clues! Instead of apologizing or offering us a free room next time, the game master just said congratulations on getting a free escape? We paid for the full escape room experience. The prices on the snacks and drinks are exorbitant because of location - so just plan on supplying your own blood sugar necessities (if you're like me and have those sorts of issues). It was a very awesome experience. We arrived late. Trying to find parking. They accommodated us with no problem. Side note everyone has to do waiver before you play. Anyways after signing the waiver we put our things in a locker with a key for no extra charge. The room we got was the squid games room. It was so fun. Team work makes the dream work. One shiner bock was 13$ - an absolute disgraceful display of price gouging their thirsty customers. I've seen Highway robberies be more fair than what they charge for a beverage at this place. Since the pandemic I've been stuck inside the house. This was our first activity in months and it was fun. Before booking I checked out the website and they had new policies due to covid so I didn't have to ask. When I arrived the staff members wore mask, sanitized the room, distance kept. They do have a small bar while waiting. Beer and wine. You can take your drinks into the escape rooms when you purchase one of their cups. I would def recommend and come back for another night of yelling at my friends. My group did Budapest Express and that was a tough one. We did escape with some hints. I have nothing but great things to say about our birthday party experience for my 15 year old! She had a group of friends from 12 to 25 years old and they all had a blast breaking the Code. We went to the Escapology in Destin, FL and assumed this one would be the same. In some ways it was, just the red-headed stepchild of the bunch maybe? We did the Scooby Doo room, and the room was "ruff" . It is in some serious need of some cleaning up; magnets torn, things didn't work. We did the book thing (won't give it away) like 5 times the exact same way until it finally worked. We probably could've overlooked all of that, but what got us the most was once the game was over, typically someone comes in and tells you "the ending". Some guy came in and just walked us out. So we don't know where we went wrong, who kidnapped Nanny, how close we were, nothing. Imagine watching a suspense movie and then it ending before you find out whodunit? Pretty whack. Then he said there's a place out here to take pics with some scooby stuff, then walked away lol. Not a do over for us. read more

What an exciting experience! I went here with my dad and his girlfriend and did the 7 deadly sins room. Creepy but so much fun! The room was so unique and when I saw online it wasn't fit for children, I had to do it. The room was designed wonderfully with 3 different rooms you have to unlock to move on. There was one point where I had to leave to room because the person giving the hint kept giving us a hint for something else already passed, so I walked out and talked to the lady and she was quick to remedy the situation. Decided to stop by here to celebrate my moms 50th birthday. This was my brother and I first time in an escape room, however, my mom had done something similar with her coworkers. The staff was very welcoming. It's a very nice place. The outside looks amazing and is located in a nice area. You can find free parking in the garage located directly above/ behind the place. Check in is super easy, especially if you sign the waivers ahead of time. For myself, it was difficult to figure out the clues. I was lost majority of the time but once they give you clues, it makes the experience a little easier. My brother did absolutely nothing while my mom just say "Ohhhh" as if she was finally catching on to clues. Lol I feel the more clues you understand, the better experience you will have. Escapology has surely ruined us for any other escape rooms that we may experience! First of all, the swanky bar up front had us at "hello". A glass of wine while we wait? Don't mind if we do! Prices are super reasonable and they have a good selection of beers, wines, and other spirits. There are a slew of challenges you can attempt, and being the weirdoes we are, the four of us opted for one of the most difficult challenges for our maiden escape room voyage (Mansion Murder). This place is high-tech, detailed, and insanely clean. The rooms are beautifully decorated and you're literally escaping from one actual room to the next. You're not just completing puzzles or something lame like that. During your challenge, you're being watched by the Control Room (audio and video). They'll alert you if you're wasting time on something that isn't a clue. If you're new to escape rooms, then definitely tell them that you DO want the option to be alerted if you are going down the wrong path...don't be proud and stubborn like we were during our first challenge! We didn't fully escape, but we had so much fun trying that we added another escape challenge to our visit (Narcos). We did far better with this one since we understood the gist of how the process works. The employees couldn't be nicer. They genuinely want you to have a great experience and they welcome feedback. If you are an escape room virgin, then be sure to tell them. They need to really walk you through the process at the forefront. We wished we asked more questions at the beginning, but you don't know what you don't know. This experience was one of the highlights of our Dallas trip and we've been talking about it ever since. Great and amazing drink specials! I know that is something you don't expect with an escape room but this location had an amazing bar prices. I believe there are eight rooms to choose from with difficulty levels from beginner to experience (we didn't know this until the end). We found it extremely difficult to complete the difficult level and we had no prior escape room experience so don't be shy to try the easy room first! There are cameras set up in each room with surveillance so they can help you through the puzzle but it is still something you have to get the hang of. It was a fun and great experience. We did the coding escape room. We loved the bar and the fact that you could take drinks into the escape room. But the room itself lacked creativity. Some of the clues felt forced and arbitrary. There were multiple items that were unused. We definitely see the benefit in having a distraction, but when the real clues themselves weren't super innovative, it's tricky to buy in to the value of the distraction. Furthermore, escaping the room is anticlimactic. You end up exiting through the same unlocked door where you entered. Overall, it was overpriced for the experience. It seems that some of the other escape rooms that they offer are a bit more creative. Compared to escape rooms that we've experienced in Austin and the Bay Area, it just didn't measure up. read more

The lobby is beautiful and I was excited to play because the decor and atmosphere looks great. I wish they would have put that $$$ into their games though. The games look good but feel very elementary. I've so far played Murder Mansion (terrible game pieces and flow) , antidote (boring and very easy), and Budapest (cool concept but one of the puzzles requires a long sit down session where if there's more than 2 people..the rest will be twiddling their thumbs). The game masters are pretty slow at responding when you ask for a hint but they are very nice. Also they seem to have soooo many scented plug ins that allergies are definitely being set off. The only reason I've given them more chances is because they're offering $15 games on Tuesdays. Location and decor is great. Games are not. read more

This was our first ever escape room and we did it with another couple friends of ours. We tackled the hardest room they had and let me tell ya, it's hard. We did the Mansion mystery and it was very interesting. I don't want to go into too much detail to ruin anyone else's experience of what to expect, but there are many different options to choose from. BLOWN AWAY! Wife and I rarely get out on group dates. Last Friday 11/15/19 was an exception. We had a group of 8 of us that met up for dinner. After dinner we car pooled to Dallas to experience an escape room together at Escapology. This wasn't the first escape room for anyone in the group. We loved the room we choose. We picked Narco, and it was very adult themed and fun. The props are great in this room, and I won't spoil anything else. We narrowly escaped with less than a minute left on the clock. We enjoyed some drinks while playing as well. The girls definitely outwitted the guys in the room. Once we saw them taking lead, we allowed them to keep the pace. It was a great experience, and we look forward to returning to try other rooms in the near future. Location is awesome, and picture taking moments are all around. read more

The two I have tried so far were really cool because you actually go through different rooms so you're not just solving a puzzle in a single room which makes it that much more exciting. I went there for the first time with a group of friends. Ambient looked a little down. No music on the waiting area or anything. Inside the escape room, the setting was really nice, but unfortunately the experience is hindered by the annoying hand-holding of the game master We were given clues non-stop during the game even without asking for them. I even called using the buzzer asking to please stop with the clues because it was ruining the experience of completing the challenge. Despite our efforts, the game master continued solving almost everything for us. Over all the setting is nice, but if you are actually interested in the thrill of solving puzzles, you will leave with a bittersweet taste after paying 38$ + drinks for being given the solution to 80%-85% of the puzzles. Might give it another chance someday, but it is unlikely it would be in the near future. read more

This place is pretty ritzy for an escape room place--easily the most "premium" style location I've ever been to. They even have a bar area! (First drinks are a penny, at least when I went). All their furniture is blacked out or old-style, and it's just very classy steampunk in there. Their games are pretty interesting, and I did have fun. I'm a pretty avid escape room enthusiast, so I've been to several in many different states. The degree of challenge presented in Escapology's Escape Rooms is just right for amateurs and experts alike. Some clues aren't obvious, but that's the point, right? They allow you to customize your game experience: if you want more clues, tell them. Otherwise you get locked down to 3 clues for a challenge. Compared to other escape rooms I've been to: Complexity: 7/10 Intuitiveness: 8/10 Sophistication of Awesome Technology: 7/10 Accessibility: 9/10 I do know that the room I played had some red herrings, which can be really annoying, and there were misleading objects, like a keypad. Our group spent a lot of time trying to figure out the code for the keypad, which ended up not being related to the game (it was a GM keypad). I recommend blacking such things out, or making it obvious that it's not part of the game. I want to go back, and I definitely plan on it.
