Great place for company events or maybe a wedding venue or a special event of some kind. We were on the 42nd floor and the views were great. The only problem was that I got tied up talking to everyone and forgot to take pictures when the sun went down. The food served was real good and they kept coming out with other smaller bits that weren't on the buffet table. The staff was friendly and helpful though out the whole night. I believe everyone had a great time and if i get another chance, i'll definitely do this again. read more

We were here, on the 42nd floor, for a wedding reception . The foyer area in the atrium makes a very good first impression. From the atrium you can look down to the floors (at least 3) below. You also have views east and west out of the very large and very tall (2+ stories) windows. It was here that we sipped drinks, mingled, and ate appetizers from passing trays as we waited for the reception/seating area to open. When the doors to the dining area opened, we were less impressed. Bare concrete floors and and cement block walls are what we saw first. The ceiling was hidden from view with draped fabric that gave us the impression of being in a tent. From this perspective the interior was pretty,as it softened the harshness of the ceilings and floors. The chairs either looked like bamboo or were bamboo. Mine wobbled quite a bit, and as I looked around, I realized mine was not the only chair doing so. I'm not sure if Cityplace Events also did the catering, but the food was OK. It was served buffet style and quantities were good. I realize this will vary by event, so I'm not going to delve into this area too much, but the variety was good the vegetables were not overcooked (though the fried green tomatoes could have been sliced thinner). The reception was in the north side of the tower, which only offered a view of the Dallas sprawl. I suspect the room on the south side has a gorgeous view of downtown Dallas. Getting into the parking lot was pretty easy via Haskell Ave. Getting out was a bit trickier. It seems you are supposed to pay via "FOOT" machines. I think I was being asked to pay $10, but perhaps I should have checked if parking tickets were being validated. Rather than shove 10 bucks into a machine, I opted to head back to the lot and see what happens. I'm glad I did, as the exit gate was up (maybe because it was after 10PM) and I just drove right out. I'm so glad I did not shove money in that machine (however, my exit point was automated, so if the gate was down I'm not sure what I would have done). My advice to you if you are parking here: Figure this out before you start to leave. Bottom line: A fairly impressive space, especially if you can be on the south side of the tower. read more

I attend quite a few conferences, meetings and general "get togethers" here. Never a bad experience, but I mean how bad can a conference room be to get a "bad" review. Chairs are comfy...tables are level. Drinks are water, tea or soda. The staff is friendly and get you whatever you need. I like the design of the building overall. I attended a wedding reception here on the fourth and fifth floors, not two weeks ago. For my first visit, I was very impressed. The layout was spacious, the decor tasteful, we received validated parking as soon as we stepped off the elevator (a plus!) and our dinner was surprisingly pleasant for 'banquet hall' food. If I lived any closer, I'd definitely consider hosting an event here. read more

My sister in law had her wedding here, it was absolutely beautiful. The staff was also very attentive and did a great job. Then there is the view, you can see all of Dallas, it is beautiful. During the daytime it looks elegant and clean, then when it gets dark the place is transformed, it is awesome. If you are getting married this is definitely the place to look into. read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff at Cityplace! My wedding was in January and it was absolutely perfect! We chose this venue in part for the most perfect view of the Dallas city skyline. Initially we had chosen the 42nd floor for our entire wedding, but unfortunately the ceremony space had to be changed. While I was upset about it at first because we wanted the 42nd floor for all of it, we still had it for the reception (which is where the perfect view was, and ultimately what mattered most), the staff made sure that despite the change, my wedding day would be everything I wanted and more. We had a few communication issues towards the beginning due to some staff changes, but once I finally got in contact with Berenice everything was smooth sailing! She was absolutely amazing at answering my emails quickly and getting back to me with any answers or information I needed. She walked me through the entire process of everything we needed to and was quick to fix and changes I had. She had no problems with my (sometimes multiple) daily emails, and made me feel completely at ease going into our wedding day. We made some changes to some of the plans, some very close to the day, and they were incredibly flexible in accommodating us. Lauro was FANTASTIC getting everything ready for everything from our initial tasting, to our rehearsal, to day of. He got us all the answers we needed and was a great director when it came to the details of how things would go. On the day of our wedding, he made sure everything was perfect and running smoothly, getting us all where we needed to go on time and getting us all taken care of. He answered many phone calls and text messages from both my mom and my Maid of Honor, working quickly and efficiently with any requests we had. I cannot thank Lauro and Berenice enough, as well as everyone at Cityplace on our wedding day, for making every step of the process go smoothly and easily and putting this anxious bride at ease! I am not a huge fan of the Cityplace conference facilities. The building itself is beautiful, but the parking garage is a total pain and the system to pay for parking is an even bigger pain. The presentation rooms are nice, but seriously a conference room is a conference room. Their in a reception space on one of the top floors but for me the parking and somewhat confusing laylout is enough to only give it 2 stars. read more

We used this vendor for our daughters wedding reception on August 1st and were very pleased. The food was as good as presented at the tasting (which doesn't always happen when serving over 200 people), and the service was exceptional. There were a couple of last minute issues - one pretty major - as in all weddings, but Cityplace handled them very professionally and efficiently, and I suffered no stress as mother of the bride. If you were hoping to skip the expense of a wedding planner, and are ok with handling a few items on your own, this is the way to go. The captain and the Cityplace planner take care of so many of the details, it's not necessary to hire a wedding planner. Great value for what you get in a beautiful venue. read more

My daughter's wedding reception was held on the 42nd floor, June 10, 2017. The staff at City Place was excellent to deal with through out the entire planning process and especially at the wedding reception itself. The food was fabulous! All of our guests have told us how much they enjoyed the food. Justin and Darlene kept the entire staff running the reception effortlessly. -No waiting for courses to be served, no lines at the bar. We planned our wedding from Los Angeles and only visited 2 venues. We knew Cityplace was the one after our initial visit with Darlene. Darlene is so sweet and friendly and she answered my many questions promptly. She made planning from another state easy and was always there for me. Cityplace is a great place to hold your wedding because they really listen to what you want to do and then flawlessly execute the plan! On our wedding day, we worked with Lauro and he was fantastic! Everything was perfect on our wedding day and our families were so happy. We had our wedding in the 42nd floor Club room which is very elegant with amazing views of the downtown skyline. Our guests complimented us many times on how elegant and classy the venue was! Everyone enjoyed the food (we had buffet selections of: beef medallions, salmon in soy, chicken in mushroom sauce, red potatoes, and asparagus). Cityplace provided all the linens, Chivari chairs, table decorations, and other decor if needed- this really eliminated the need for any rentals! We had our wedding at Cityplace on March 17, 2012. Although the venue has great views and they validated parking for all of our guests, I would not use this venue again...for any occaision. The price was outrageous...so if you have an unlimited budget then go for it. The tasting events are scheduled quarterly, but they also update their menu frequently. So the menu available for my wedding was not available for tasting. Guessing at your menu for your wedding? Sure, that's not stressful at all! Also, the selling was too aggressive for me. We booked the venue basically because we were told it would not be available if we waited 24 hours. So that's my fault for not standing my ground. Trying to plan a unique reception or ceremony and need a proper floor plan? Good luck with that. Do you want to pay $21 per person so the 5 underage kids can drink soda at your wedding? Go for it. If you are looking to have a gorgeous wedding but still stay within your budget so you can have everything you want, please look elsewhere. read more
