Great service. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious. Came here for the Sunday brunch worth every penny. Definitely coming back. Mariachi was on point.

I have not tasted a ceviche with right amount of shrimp, acidity, tenderness on scallop with the usual suspects. I could easily indulge myself to a full bowl of it. Great hospitality when they tending my friend's private party. I know who to call for catering when I have private party.

Been here 3 times. We enjoyed the food each time. However, we noticed being charged different prices each time for the same item we ordered previously. Can't find the 3 rd Receipt but uploaded two just to show proof.

Besides the place looking like you just walked into a bar in a third world country, the waitress actually apologized to us for not being able to bring us oysters because they had gone bad. We then ordered a burrito that was ok but spent the whole time getting into a bar brawl with the 4 flies that insisted on attacking us the whole time we were here. Don't waste your money.

The math doesn't add up, charged 4 exra per plate on my package, and told me he was feeding 75 people not the 100 I purchased.

The place has a perfect outside garden oasis, beautiful! I walked in to inquire about the events held there in June 2021 when restrictions had lifted. I was greeted by Rigo and he took me on a tour, he told me about a Rancho in Santa Clarita they owned and how Beautiful it was. I let him know I wanted my event in town, so we made a date to come back and test the food. While I walked the outside the place was a mess and unfortunately neglected but given it was shut down I guess it's to be expected... you decide. I saw the potential it had and wanted to give this place a chance so I came back to try the food the following week. At this appointment there was other families who were also interested I presume, and he did his best to attend us all. He kept saying he had no help and he was alone so we sat patiently. The food was so tasty and well made. I was impressed! So that day I decided I was going to book my event. I went through the menu and right away, he was trying to sell me the more expensive packages but said he could not serve my guest because again he had no staff. I opted for a moderate food selection and asked what drinks would be served. I was surprised No drinks were included on a $6000 bill. He said it was a 500 ticket minimum if I wanted drinks, mind you I only booked for 100 guest max. He insisted I get drink packages it would be $5. I realized he was talking about the alcohol so I asked if I can let him know at a later date as it was covid and we didn't know who would come and if we'd shut down. He agreed. We spoke about a guest list of 75-100 people because it was after all a pandemic. I went and visited with several vendors and each time he acted like i was a nuisance, always annoyed about something. At this point we are seeing that the outside is still neglected, several items missing or broken, rusted and dirty. We asked if the place would be cleaned, the fountain, the chandelier, cut the grass, trim the gazebo, replace the broken lights hanging above, and most definitely fix the columns falling over that held the lights. It's been a few weeks since they opened and we talked and nothing was done. Each time I needed him he was busy and a complained about everything. He made me want to cancel my event. I can't believe he is the representative for such a beautiful place. I can go on and on but I end with him scamming me out of 300 dollars, telling me I would have to buy pizzas to feed my guest. I went in one week prior to my event and the place looked the same! He declined me the $5 drinks, took $300 and never documented it for fountain drinks, and then STILL CHARGED my GUESTS! He's a scammer and a lier avoid doing business here. He took 700 for tip also! He has nothing but family there which usually is great for a family owned business but they sat and trashed talked us the entire night! My family and friends herd this guy and his staff being so rude and up charging us. Scamming everyone. I was so embarrassed, and disappointed.

Happy hour weekdays from 3pm to 7pm with a fun drink menu with a nice bar section next to the kitchen and ofcourse you gotta have menudo and pozole on the weekends. They also have hot soups (Caldos). We ordered the Taco Fiesta platter that comes with 4 tacos (protein of choice-seafood extra) and rice/beans and the chilaquilles platter with carne asada and 2 eggs sunny side up. Everything came out hot and was sooooo tasty. There seafood tacos are choice of grilled or fried tilapia or shrimp. I love there beans and rice! She had a nasty attitude and no smiles at all. I asked if they sold sopes I asked where on the meñu was it? So I can look at my options. The server told me it wasn't on the Meñu. In my head I'm like "how do you not have it on the meñu but yet sell it ?" I didn't make it a big deal but for some reason she seemed annoyed. I also asked one of the other servers if they can bring a lemonade for my daughter, she had said yes she can do that. But.. We got our food 35 mins later (keep in mind it was one plate) we were waiting on. & we still hadn't gotten our lemonade I had asked for. The cook brought us our plate & he was nice and asked if we needed anything else. I said " I asked one of the servers for a lemonade and it still hasn't been brought." & he mentioned he would let them know. Then the server comes back with an attitude and places it on the table, not even a word said. I even thanked her multiple times and nothing was said, no "you're welcome" or anything. She never even checked up on us or asked if we needed anything else. If you can't handle being a server why even work as one? Simple as that. This is what ruins a restaurant's reputation and makes people not want to go back. No tip was deserved.

Once again, a seeming disability can turn into an opportunity. I have been diagnosed celiac (gluten…read moreintolerant) for 26 years but I am a foodie and I owned a restaurant. I also travel and love to eat wherever I go so for the first 15 years or so after my diagnosis, my food can only be described as cardboard or parakeet food. However, since being gluten intolerant has become extremely prevalent, it is much easier now to find great food and growing up in Venice, California Mexican food was and still is one of my favorite cuisine. I was going to go to an event for Yelp at the Regent where I knew I would find snack type food that would be inedible for me so after partaking in the wonder of Dia de los Muertos, I walked past Bar Ama and was captivated by the cool interior. I wasn't planning on eating much but in keeping with the Halloween Calaveras theme, I sat at the bar and had a wonderful talk with the bartender/server and some fellow diners who are also eating at the bar. Whenever there are specials, I try to order them, and in this case, this was no exception as I started off with my first Pumpkin Margarita - pumpkin, cinnamon, tequila, combier, lime, agave. Nice taste without an overpowering pumpkin flavor. Since I'm a lightweight and cheap date, I had to have some hardy food and I tried their super nachos with shredded chichen picidilia. Calling something super could mean big and/or delicious. This was both. I powered through most of it and then the devious server made me look at their muy especial desserts. That's a lie but while I'm gluten intolerant I'm not glutton intolerant so I gave in to try a dessert presented in the spirit of the holiday- Pistachio Cheesecake Brûlée- kataif, buttermilk créme fraiche, saffron honey cherry blossom salt. I don't even know exactly how you take my favorite dessert in which I am a self proclaimed expert, Creme brûlée (which was the only dessert I could safely eat for years) and pair it with my second favorite, cheesecake. Are you kidding me? Ama tell you this was epic in the presentation that was almost too nice to eat. That's BS I dug right in after taking a few snaps for y'all and so I could salivate looking at the pics later. Delicioso friends. Needless to say I waddled content over to the Regent and ate nothing so as not to break the vibe of the meal. Gracias Bar Ama.
