Avoid avoid avoid. Worst escape room I've done, quite litterally have done FREE escape rooms better…read morethan this. None of the mechanisms work and the staff don't pay attention to manually start them either. So basically you'll solve a problem and wait around and wonder for 20 mins why nothings moving even if you got it right from the start. Then you have to ask for a clue (which they won't give, it'll just be a condescending phrase that tells you to do what you've already been doing.) then after fighting with them for five min they'll realize it's their fault and manually start it, wasting not just our time but our money. 30 dollars a person is just ridiculous for what this is. If you want more fun lock yourself in a dark closet for 30 min and try to get out, you'll probably feel more satisfied anyways. I will say that we did ignore all of the red flags 1. The bad reviews online 2. The two groups that came out super pissed off before us fighting for refunds cause nothing worked for them 3. How the place looked So kinda on us but... Did this for group bonding and I will say we did bond pretty well over how terrible this was and how much we got scammed, so maybe if you want team bonding then this works for you idk? Definitely tests your teams patience....

So many rooms to go through that it made the experience well worth it. My only criticism would be the staff. We didn't escape the room and only had one section left to get through. When the staff came in telling us we were out of time, the normal procedure would be to walk us through what we had left. Instead, the guy said he was unable to finish a walk through because the next group had arrived. It seemed that he was unwilling to walk us through the remaining aspects because if he did, then he'd have to reset all the puzzles... I've been to quite a few escape room locations and never has this happened before, even if the next group had arrived.. Overall the Osaka High room was pretty cool, but I only wish I knew how it ended.....

Omventure is Toronto's premium escape rooms and board game cafe. They have 3 locations…read more(Mississauga, Scarborough, and Markham), where this particular location is located in Markham, near Woodbine and Esna Park Drive. The entrance of Omventure is somewhat hidden where it faces the back of a big building housing several different businesses (mainly restaurants). A great place for kids, teens, families, as well as young adults, the space houses a variety of escape rooms with different difficulty levels, where there is a suggested number of people needed per room. Depending on the difficulty of the escape room, you are given either 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min to solve or escape the room. You are able to book your escape room ahead of time, which is highly recommended. They do have family and kid friendly escape rooms available as well. Also, the use of phones is not allowed when you play the escape rooms - if you do decide to bring your phone into the escape room and use it, you can cause your time in the escape room to end early (they have security footage throughout the rooms). This location also has an expansive board game area with many large tables and many games as well as a cafe selling bubble tea and snacks. There is also a gaming area with video game consoles as well. My party of 4 stopped by Omventure on a Saturday evening where we had booked the escape room "Kingdom of Cats" (60 min, 3/5 difficulty, best for 3-8 people). Upon entering, you pay at the counter where you can get discounts if you follow them on social media or if it is your birthday. Once ready, your belongings are placed in a single locker and you are asked to watch a video explaining the rules of the escape room. Staff also provide you with a walkie talkie where you can ask for unlimited hints if you are really stuck. Afterwards, staff lead you to your particular escape room. My party and I managed finish the "Kingdom of Cats" escape room in the allotted time, although we had to ask staff twice as we were stuck with what to do next. This particular escape room required us to solve puzzles and riddles while paying attention to our surroundings. There was a bit of crawling as we headed to at least 4 different rooms. It may seem confusing where to begin at first when you are placed in the room but with teamwork and communication, you end up figuring out what to do to move to the next step. This particular escape room isn't scary, but it is kid friendly and fun. The 60 min really flew by just like that as we had to use our brains in order to figure things out. I haven't done a lot of escape rooms but this one was really nicely designed with lots of details throughout. Moving through the different rooms was pretty cool and finding the clues and working as a team together allowed us to escape and finish. After we were finished with the escape room, staff came to get us and took our picture on the stage where we could choose different boards to hold up. Nice touch as a souvenir of the fun time you had while you were there. For an additional fee you can also play as many board games if you'd like, but we decided not to. Overall, a fun escape room adventure for everyone! Would love to try the more difficult and scary ones next time. Staff were great and the facilities were well maintained where the rooms very detailed. Great option to have a fun time with family or friends.

Apparently it's been around for a long time but I never realize its existence until now! It's a bit tucked away at the back of the Diana Seafood plaza on Woodbine. You might need to loop around the parking lot to find it, but it's certainly worth it once you are inside. The space is fine and decently laid out, so even with multiple groups, it does not feel overcrowded. They offer eight escape rooms, four game console stations, plenty of board games, a photo-taking area with fun signages, an open beverage bar (non-alcoholic... probably), and lots of good-sized tables for groups. It is a great setup for parties. We booked a birthday package that included three hours of hangout time (board games, consoles, photo area), one large pizza, eight drinks, and a one-hour escape room for eight kids. Paper plates and cutlery were provided, and parents could relax while the kids played. Bring your own cake and other refreshments with no hassle. Well-manner staffs are helpful and easy to work with. At around CAD $430 including tax, it felt reasonable, especially since the kids had an absolute blast.

The backdoor has signage that points around the building. Took us a lil bit but we eventually found a door on the side that led us into this venue. Once the staff member checked us in, we were given a locker out front to put all our belongings in. They've got 3 adventures/escape experiences. Our crew attempted The Lab: Lockdown experience. With a reported no-hints success rate of 5%, we were up for the challenge (you typically get 3 hints). We finished the escape just in time but we did end up using all 3 clues/hints. It was tough but very interactive. Very fun group activity. Also super rewarding once we finished! I much prefer interactive escapes like these over traditional escape rooms where you have to use "escape room" logic aka math and patterns. This experience used more common sense logic and required teamwork which led to higher immersion. The 2 out of town friends are already planning for us to tackle the hardest experience (The Tomb: Raiders of the Sword) collectively as a group, the next time they're back in town. Highly recommended! The staff were also super nice!

This is one of the first "real life" escape…read moreroom that I've been to in which there are no locks and puzzles just a bunch of ways you and your team have to come up with to escape. Without giving too much away, we were all locked up in a prison cell and had to put our brains together with what we had in the room to figure out an escape. The rooms do require a little more upkeep but it didn't interfere with our play at all. The front desk staff was nice and he helped explain our mission and answered our questions at the end. Difficulty: 4/5 - this rating is relative Aesthetics: 3.5/5 Fun factor: 4/5 Immersion: 4/5 If you are looking for a fun date night, I highly recommend checking them out! We will be back to complete the next room.

I have tried VR and also done escape rooms before but this was my first time doing a VR escape…read moreroom, so it felt like a totally new experience. We went during Christmas break with my cousin and our kids and were able to book on the same day. We played the pirate-themed game Pirate Plague (45 minutes, 2-6 players), which was fun and immersive. The goal was to work together through different levels to solve puzzles & eventually sink the opposing pirate ship. We didn't fully finish the mission (got to about 93%), but everyone still had a great time. It was about $41 per person after tax, which felt reasonable. Overall, a fun group activity and a great option if you've tried VR or escape rooms before but never both together.

We picked a mix of four games for an hour, and my fav was the one where we had to defend our base from a zombie invasion. A close second was a game similar to Overcooked, though we were absolutely terrible at it. We also played a few shooting games, one where we protecting our base with arrows and another where we split into teams of two to battle each other out with guns. The team battle wasn't as fun with an odd number of players, so next time, I'd probably swap it for a different game or replay the existing ones. The hour flew by, and I'd highly recommend this as a group activity. Plus, while you wait for your turn or after you're done, there's jitz and board games in the waiting area to keep the fun going.
