Highly recommend!!! It really is the most beautiful escape room I've been to. I booked the dream portal for a group of 5. We finished with 15 minutes to spare but did require 2-3 clues. The puzzles were whimsical, magical, and clever. Thoroughly enjoyed it and it is much more memorable than other escape rooms. Everything was handmade!! I had trouble focusing on the tasks because I wanted to admire the room. Extra special thanks for staff for up keeping the place and providing a chair for my friend who was very much pregnant so that she could participate without worries. We'll be back to try the ice cave! Even the bathrooms are themed. Miscellaneous: There's a lockbox for valuables, hangers for coats, and 2 single bathrooms. You have to go down a flight of stairs to access the place, there's no elevator. Coming back to try the ice cave one!

Every year, our team at work decides to get together to hang out and partake in some team-bonding experience. Last year, we ate on a patio at a nice eatery. Some wanted to do the same thing again. Others wanted a change of pace. We held a vote. Doing an escape room ruled supreme. I had never done an escape room in my life, so I was looking forward to it. My manager was to do some research and come up with a list of escape room venues for us to choose from. Well, he fell ill and this task slid. Who did this task for him instead? Yep, me. I am known for being a decent researcher and planner on our team. I frankly enjoyed breaking away from doing regular work to figure escape rooms out. I was already trying to solve a puzzle! I did a combination of researching escape rooms on my own and polling friends. One of them suggested going to Daydream Adventures. She loved the immersive, magical forest escape rooms that this place had to offer. It has two escape rooms: - Dream portal - Escape cave The latter option was more expensive at $43 per person for roughly an hour. Our team went with the dream portal option at a more affordable $33 per person. My manager made our reservation online. You book online and pay when you are there. The place accepts credit and debit cards. My manager paid with a debit card to ultimately expense it. In the past, I used to do all that. It was nice taking a break from doing expenses. Daydream Adventures is a few businesses down from Our Spot, my favourite eatery to get one of six different grilled cheese sandwiches. There is street parking on Danforth Avenue. It's Green P and you need to pay. The two men in our group and I all parked on side streets. I parked on West Lynn Avenue, which was midway between this escape room, and where we were heading afterwards for refreshments and nourishment. Parking on side streets is free. I met most folks in front of the store. My friend had already entered the place before I had arrived. I didn't realize that he was there until we texted. The sign on the door said that you must wear a mask. It confused me to see people coming out of the place without wearing any. The escape rooms are downstairs. The stairs are narrow and the place is dark, minus the neon lighting near the steps that guides you downstairs. There is a sign that says to watch your head. I am a couple of inches shy of being six feet and I cleared fine. If you are perhaps 6'2" or taller, you will hit your head on the ceiling. It's dark downstairs. It's also cool, but was lacking air conditioning. There is a reception desk and a long bench. We all sat down before we got our welcome from the friendly staff. I asked about masks. It's up to you whether you want to wear one. Our group are at least triple-vaccinated (I'm the outlier with four), so we were comfortable putting our masks away. There are two separate washroom stalls to the right of the reception desk when you are staring at it. I used one at the end of the game. It was clean. Between these two washrooms is a large chest in which we placed our purses and bags. Once you close the chest's lid, it automatically locks. It unlocked for us when we were done playing. We got an overview about the game and what we were about to do. We had George, a mini chest with horrible teeth. He was our lifeline and would answer all our questions when we got stuck on a puzzle. My friend held George at first, but I ultimately held toothy guy for the whole game. We asked George a ton of questions throughout our game. The dream portal was beautiful and magical. Each puzzle was challenging, and required a lot of communication and teamwork. It was awesome. There were mushrooms that made sounds when you touched them, which was one puzzle. We had to remove three branches to solve another one. My friend and I had a tough time loosening one that went through the tree truck. We are so used to each other that we swapped places without saying a word and got the tree trunk out. I enjoyed that we celebrated puzzle wins and all tried to figure out everything together. We didn't escape the room, though. We likely needed another ten minutes more, but we did so well. I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience at an escape room. We got to take a group photo at the end. We went to collect our belongings out of the chest. We thanked all staff who helped us have a good team events and walked upstairs to leave the place. I had a wonderful time seeing my colleagues, both new and one whom I hadn't seen in two years! My first escape room experience was fun and enjoyable. I loved it and would return here for more fun. I am Matt, aka ESCAPE MATTSTER! \(^-^)/ LOVE all things escape games and puzzles related! Don't wanna go out right now? Nbd, because you can enjoy escape games while staying safer at home via REMOTE PLAY! There's no need to leave the house! ...Or wear pants! (In which case, just don't stand up when you play. Let's maintain some basic decency here.) Now, a quickie review for: "THE WITCH'S FOREST" QUICK, CONCISE KEY POINTS: - One obvious standout feature of "The Witch's Forest" is that you're playing the role of a forest spirit, an ally of Hilda the witch. That's right, the witch isn't the villain, but the antihero. - Linear game play, puzzles and relevant clues are hand fed to players at each step, a perhaps oversimplified format that takes away some inherent joys of an escape room. - However, the very same linear structure paves way for excellent story telling. With Hilda's dedicated performance, this becomes a remarkable immersive theater adjacent experience. - The entire set--both the vibrantly colorful magic forest and the detailed rustic cabin--is absolutely gorgeous. The only downside is that online players can't witness this in person. MATTSTER'S PERSPECTIVE: - Difficulty rating: (Team of 6) It was, on occasions, perplexing. Otherwise, not hard. - Best team size: Some puzzles are headscratchers, though a group of 4 should suffice. - Best audience: Family, children, or anyone who likes fairy tale fantasy with a personality. Signing off, ESCAPE MATTSTER P.S. Should you have more questions about anything escape room, feel free to contact me!

It's extremely well detailed, and there puzzles aren't all just combination locks. The room is on the small side for 7, but the amount of work that went into the visuals was on the holy crap level :p There might be a bit too much hand holding on some of the puzzles for veteran level players, especially for a large group. Still, it's on the to recommend list. Looking forward to their second room.

It has many little disjoint puzzles which are somewhat challenging. Each puzzle is independent of the others, which allows for a group to split into smaller groups and solve the puzzles in parallel. The second room was The Lost Treasure (3/5 in difficulty). It was well thought-out and somewhat more challenging than advertised. The main room leads to a secondary room, and the main room is considerably more challenging. Both rooms were suitable for all ages. One of the great things about Enigma is that they allow you a lot of extra time. On both occasions they allowed us almost an additional hour to try to escape. They gave lots of clues, without taking away from the challenge. Moreover, the place is well maintained and it is clean. Keep up the good work.

Getting…read morein was slightly disorganized, but understandably so given that there were at least 50 people squeezed into the reception area at one point. It's a cozy place though with a few couches, coat racks, and lockers to store your belongings - oh, and the mandatory signs to hold up for pictures afterwards, of course. There are 7 different rooms here, 2 of which are horror themed. My team selected the "Godfather" with its 5/5 stars in difficulty rating, with the reason that we wouldn't be embarrassed even if we failed (i.e., a good excuse haha). Without spoiling anything, it gave us quite a run for our money! At first I had thought that the 9 people (maximum) we had in the small room would be overkill, but there were a few convoluted clues in there that had all of us circling around in confusion. It was only after 4 calls for hints later (hints are unlimited here - you'll need them) and with just 1 minute to go on the clock that we thankfully made our escape. Overall, everyone enjoyed the escape games, and the friendliness of the staff definitely contributed to the positive experience. Instructions were clear and the process was fairly efficient, although I felt they were somewhat understaffed as there was sometimes a delay in receiving hints - again, this was to be expected as we constituted a large group, but you'll appreciate my frustration when you're in the room staring in panic at the clock counting down on the wall. The price is reasonable given the location, recommended! :)

The Puzzles We ended up doing two because we had such a good time. We did the Amun Ra room and the Wilshire puzzle. They were engaging and well thought out and had us working together to communicate our findings and surroundings. The production of each room and immersiveness were great. Sometimes the puzzles didn't work PERFECTLY, but the staff were quick to correct it if things didn't work well which was rare The Service The staff were fantastic . All were friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The team was clear with the rules and expectations of each room. Follow the rules and you will have fun. The Value It's just under $40 for each person playing and each room with the minimum of 4 participants is a private booking. I really enjoyed this as I got to work with people I knew and could work off their energies as well. It's worth the money and it's time and money well spent. I'm looking forward to trying the Steampunk room as well as the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens room. I would 100% recommend this place and can't wait to go again. I can't recommend it enough!

None of the mechanisms work and the staff don't pay attention to manually start them either. So basically you'll solve a problem and wait around and wonder for 20 mins why nothings moving even if you got it right from the start. Then you have to ask for a clue (which they won't give, it'll just be a condescending phrase that tells you to do what you've already been doing.) then after fighting with them for five min they'll realize it's their fault and manually start it, wasting not just our time but our money. 30 dollars a person is just ridiculous for what this is. If you want more fun lock yourself in a dark closet for 30 min and try to get out, you'll probably feel more satisfied anyways. I will say that we did ignore all of the red flags 1. The bad reviews online 2. The two groups that came out super pissed off before us fighting for refunds cause nothing worked for them 3. How the place looked So kinda on us but... So many rooms to go through that it made the experience well worth it. My only criticism would be the staff. We didn't escape the room and only had one section left to get through. When the staff came in telling us we were out of time, the normal procedure would be to walk us through what we had left. Instead, the guy said he was unable to finish a walk through because the next group had arrived. It seemed that he was unwilling to walk us through the remaining aspects because if he did, then he'd have to reset all the puzzles... I've been to quite a few escape room locations and never has this happened before, even if the next group had arrived.. Still one of the top escape places in gta!…read more Decor: 5* They have talented artists that decorate the hallway, outside theme doors, and an immersive setting in the escape room. I'm surprised they haven't won more awards for their rooms or close contender bragging rights. Clue: 4* Some rooms have hints on a screen and follows your progress based on where you've progressed. Some rooms are a white button and they'll come into your room to assist you, no walkie talkies thank goodness! Lighting 3* They feel it is enough and the main focus clues are properly illuminated. We feel it's still too dark to read some clues like book titles and request their flashlight every time. Staff 5* All staff here over the years have been awesome! Friendly, passionate, mature and all game lovers themselves. Game puzzles 3*-5* Some are well done, clever and creative. no locks and combos and they progressed to top of the line puzzles. We did find not all were well timed and one finale puzzle just plain lazy as if they lost their puzzle maker. We've done almost all their rooms and even ones they've replaced. The Missing Will: so much potential at the start but with an unsatisfactory end! It's like they ran out of time or money as the puzzles did not compare. The ending was too sudden and we stood there having won but confused this was it instead of their usual wrap up theme. It's not scary at all but with a supernatural theme. It's also perfect for larger groups or friends with adhd. The roles you pick can help give clues and hints for solving your character puzzles aside from the main ones. This is also what makes it frustrating for us, as we want to clear all puzzles and it's not possible/necessary. Pathogen: interesting how the game can change based on your progress, choices and hints. We won with a minute thirty to spare. Bring a friend that reads everything as ours rushed before following orders, one that isn't colour blind, and one that isn't afraid to go somewhere alone. Not scary on this room. Noriko: scary theme! For me it wasn't the doll props and flashy lighting but the background music and special effect noise. I couldn't concentrate very well as I found that triggering and this had the darkest rooms with poorest lighting at their establishment. Tip: Bring a friend that is musical, don't bring friends afraid of scary movies! Crossroads: dark thriller vibe, liked the choice to choose a decision to effect ending, the changing atmosphere to fit the evolving story and ending was fun. My friends liked this room a lot and played it two more times after our win and couldn't break out with the other two groups. Lounge: only standing room now. No board games offered anymore. They sell canned pop and waters, have 3 clean washrooms. Photo board is self run at the entrance on a timer but terrible angle and background. $10 off for back to back games. Free game on ACTUAL DAY of your birthday.

A fun off the beaten path way to experience Casa Loma!…read more We played the King of the Bootleggers game in the afternoon (4:30pm). The game is designed for up to 15 people. In the end our group had 9 people. A little unusual is that because the games are designed for such a large number of people you'll likely be playing with strangers unless you have enough friends and book the entire game. Since the castle closes at 5pm we didn't have trouble parking. If you're purely there for the game I'd recommend booking an evening game so the parking lot is more likely to have space. The website difficulty rating was accurate. With 9 people it was very challenging to finish in 60 minutes. If only we had about 10 more minutes we probably could have solved it fully. (Someone told me that Murdoch Mysteries was so hard to at with a group of 12 they only solved about 70% of it. But she still had a great time!) King of the Bootleggers is great in that there are three separate rooms that are part of the puzzle. So the group is divided up. You may be able to mostly only play with your friends and not strangers. At the end you do come together for a final puzzle that requires some teamwork. That also means this particular game has re-play value! If you played one room you could get play again and ask to play a different room. The actors did a fantastic job and really set this escape room apart from all others I've played. They were helpful with giving unlimited hints while staying in character. If encouraged to interact with them in character (but no physical touching. Be nice to them). Part of Bootleggers was walking through the tunnels of the castle. The tunnels were decorated with lights for Christmas! So that was a nice bonus. Highly recommend! There's also a photo op at the end and you can tip your actors. Take away points are you should have a lot of friends or be prepared to play with strangers if you want to win and go in the evening for better parking.
