Avoid avoid avoid. Worst escape room I've done, quite litterally have done FREE escape rooms better…read morethan this. None of the mechanisms work and the staff don't pay attention to manually start them either. So basically you'll solve a problem and wait around and wonder for 20 mins why nothings moving even if you got it right from the start. Then you have to ask for a clue (which they won't give, it'll just be a condescending phrase that tells you to do what you've already been doing.) then after fighting with them for five min they'll realize it's their fault and manually start it, wasting not just our time but our money. 30 dollars a person is just ridiculous for what this is. If you want more fun lock yourself in a dark closet for 30 min and try to get out, you'll probably feel more satisfied anyways. I will say that we did ignore all of the red flags 1. The bad reviews online 2. The two groups that came out super pissed off before us fighting for refunds cause nothing worked for them 3. How the place looked So kinda on us but... Did this for group bonding and I will say we did bond pretty well over how terrible this was and how much we got scammed, so maybe if you want team bonding then this works for you idk? Definitely tests your teams patience....

So many rooms to go through that it made the experience well worth it. My only criticism would be the staff. We didn't escape the room and only had one section left to get through. When the staff came in telling us we were out of time, the normal procedure would be to walk us through what we had left. Instead, the guy said he was unable to finish a walk through because the next group had arrived. It seemed that he was unwilling to walk us through the remaining aspects because if he did, then he'd have to reset all the puzzles... I've been to quite a few escape room locations and never has this happened before, even if the next group had arrived.. Overall the Osaka High room was pretty cool, but I only wish I knew how it ended.....

I may be biased because we actually escaped!…read more Got the Groupon here. Thought it was worth the price we paid. Yes, it's a little "ghetto" compared to other Escape place I went downtown. There is yellow tape covering up some sections, items are kind of cheap, there is only 1 employee who supervises 2 rooms and he is pretty laid back, etc. But I'm okay with all that. I'm here for the puzzles... not for a date. I preferred these clues to the other place that I went. They are more logic type clues, as opposed to some of the clues from the other place that were kind of random. I do have a complaint, but can't get into specifics, as that would reveal how to solve the clue. But basically one of my crucial pieces of evidence wasn't "working", which cost us some time (they gave us an extra 5min, but we probably lost 10). That being said, we did escape. I also liked that you can request clues. You can get 2 clues "free". If you get more than that, you automatically get your photo posted to the Wall of Shame. I will probably return to try the other room. Tip: don't dress too warm if you are doing the Prison game. They turn up the heat really high

Not really sure how to review this, but I'll give it a shot:…read more My boyfriend and I bought a Groupon for a 1 hour room escape at XSpace. I should note that neither of us had been to something like this before, so we really have nothing to compare it to. When we pulled in, we immediately noticed (and discussed) the lack of effort into the ambiance and decor of the place. It was very bland, with white walls, and nothing really exciting going on. There are 4 rooms to escape from. We did the Forest one which is rated as their easiest room at 3/5 difficulty level. The employee brought us to the Forest room, and explains the rules. We were locked in a room with flashlights, pens & paper, and the whole escape was comprised of three rooms. We needed to find clues to unlock the various doors to enter further into the "forest" and our eventual escape. I won't give away too much about the clues/puzzles but will still try to be as comprehensive as possible. The first part of the escape was pretty easy. Not because my boyfriend and I are extremely smart, but because people who've completed the escape have left evidence of their escape/how they did it. This kind of took away from the experience because we didn't really have to put in much work. The answers were kind of just there. The second part of the escape was much more challenging. We ended up having to call an employee for a clue (which you can do via a walkie-talkie they provide). We started to make some connections, but unfortunately ran out of time. Going into the escape, it was my understanding that if you fail, the employee takes you through it and shows you where you went wrong, and how to successfully complete the escape. When we were there, the employee quickly rushed us out, and told us that another group was coming so he had to clean the room. I was disappointed, since I would have liked to know the solution. The decor of the place was also sub-par. It looked as though it was decorated with dollar store Halloween decorations, held up by push pins and tape. It would have been much more effective if they had spooky music or cool, lit-up decor. Also, while you're in the escape room, you can hear the people in the lobby and people in other escape rooms talking. It's actually quite loud. Again, this made the experience lose some effect, and seemed half-assed. Again, I haven't been to another room escape place, so I don't have much to compare to. But Groupon does currently have a sale on for another room escape place in Scarborough that I'd like to try. I think the concept of room escape is pretty neat, and I haven't given up! I just doubt I'll be returning to XSpace, but instead try a place that puts more effort into the ambiance and authenticity of the experience.

Enigma Escape room is excellent. We've been to two rooms. The first was Fairytale (4/5 in…read moredifficulty). It's a small room with no secondary room, but it's a lot of fun. It has many little disjoint puzzles which are somewhat challenging. Each puzzle is independent of the others, which allows for a group to split into smaller groups and solve the puzzles in parallel. The second room was The Lost Treasure (3/5 in difficulty). It was well thought-out and somewhat more challenging than advertised. The main room leads to a secondary room, and the main room is considerably more challenging. Both rooms were suitable for all ages. One of the great things about Enigma is that they allow you a lot of extra time. On both occasions they allowed us almost an additional hour to try to escape. They gave lots of clues, without taking away from the challenge. Moreover, the place is well maintained and it is clean. Keep up the good work.

This new escape room is conveniently located downtown, and we went there for a work social. Getting…read morein was slightly disorganized, but understandably so given that there were at least 50 people squeezed into the reception area at one point. It's a cozy place though with a few couches, coat racks, and lockers to store your belongings - oh, and the mandatory signs to hold up for pictures afterwards, of course. There are 7 different rooms here, 2 of which are horror themed. My team selected the "Godfather" with its 5/5 stars in difficulty rating, with the reason that we wouldn't be embarrassed even if we failed (i.e., a good excuse haha). Without spoiling anything, it gave us quite a run for our money! At first I had thought that the 9 people (maximum) we had in the small room would be overkill, but there were a few convoluted clues in there that had all of us circling around in confusion. It was only after 4 calls for hints later (hints are unlimited here - you'll need them) and with just 1 minute to go on the clock that we thankfully made our escape. Overall, everyone enjoyed the escape games, and the friendliness of the staff definitely contributed to the positive experience. Instructions were clear and the process was fairly efficient, although I felt they were somewhat understaffed as there was sometimes a delay in receiving hints - again, this was to be expected as we constituted a large group, but you'll appreciate my frustration when you're in the room staring in panic at the clock counting down on the wall. The price is reasonable given the location, recommended! :)

Still one of the top escape places in gta!…read more Decor: 5* They have talented artists that decorate the hallway, outside theme doors, and an immersive setting in the escape room. I'm surprised they haven't won more awards for their rooms or close contender bragging rights. Clue: 4* Some rooms have hints on a screen and follows your progress based on where you've progressed. Some rooms are a white button and they'll come into your room to assist you, no walkie talkies thank goodness! Lighting 3* They feel it is enough and the main focus clues are properly illuminated. We feel it's still too dark to read some clues like book titles and request their flashlight every time. Staff 5* All staff here over the years have been awesome! Friendly, passionate, mature and all game lovers themselves. Game puzzles 3*-5* Some are well done, clever and creative. no locks and combos and they progressed to top of the line puzzles. We did find not all were well timed and one finale puzzle just plain lazy as if they lost their puzzle maker. We've done almost all their rooms and even ones they've replaced. The Missing Will: so much potential at the start but with an unsatisfactory end! It's like they ran out of time or money as the puzzles did not compare. The ending was too sudden and we stood there having won but confused this was it instead of their usual wrap up theme. It's not scary at all but with a supernatural theme. It's also perfect for larger groups or friends with adhd. The roles you pick can help give clues and hints for solving your character puzzles aside from the main ones. This is also what makes it frustrating for us, as we want to clear all puzzles and it's not possible/necessary. Pathogen: interesting how the game can change based on your progress, choices and hints. We won with a minute thirty to spare. Bring a friend that reads everything as ours rushed before following orders, one that isn't colour blind, and one that isn't afraid to go somewhere alone. Not scary on this room. Noriko: scary theme! For me it wasn't the doll props and flashy lighting but the background music and special effect noise. I couldn't concentrate very well as I found that triggering and this had the darkest rooms with poorest lighting at their establishment. Tip: Bring a friend that is musical, don't bring friends afraid of scary movies! Crossroads: dark thriller vibe, liked the choice to choose a decision to effect ending, the changing atmosphere to fit the evolving story and ending was fun. My friends liked this room a lot and played it two more times after our win and couldn't break out with the other two groups. Lounge: only standing room now. No board games offered anymore. They sell canned pop and waters, have 3 clean washrooms. Photo board is self run at the entrance on a timer but terrible angle and background. $10 off for back to back games. Free game on ACTUAL DAY of your birthday.

I knew very little about The Imaginarium before I visited this week…read more I have to say it was one of the best escape room experiences I've had in a very long time. The Puzzles We ended up doing two because we had such a good time. We did the Amun Ra room and the Wilshire puzzle. They were engaging and well thought out and had us working together to communicate our findings and surroundings. The production of each room and immersiveness were great. Sometimes the puzzles didn't work PERFECTLY, but the staff were quick to correct it if things didn't work well which was rare The Service The staff were fantastic . All were friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The team was clear with the rules and expectations of each room. Follow the rules and you will have fun. The Value It's just under $40 for each person playing and each room with the minimum of 4 participants is a private booking. I really enjoyed this as I got to work with people I knew and could work off their energies as well. It's worth the money and it's time and money well spent. I'm looking forward to trying the Steampunk room as well as the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens room. I would 100% recommend this place and can't wait to go again. I can't recommend it enough!

I have tried VR and also done escape rooms before but this was my first time doing a VR escape…read moreroom, so it felt like a totally new experience. We went during Christmas break with my cousin and our kids and were able to book on the same day. We played the pirate-themed game Pirate Plague (45 minutes, 2-6 players), which was fun and immersive. The goal was to work together through different levels to solve puzzles & eventually sink the opposing pirate ship. We didn't fully finish the mission (got to about 93%), but everyone still had a great time. It was about $41 per person after tax, which felt reasonable. Overall, a fun group activity and a great option if you've tried VR or escape rooms before but never both together.

We picked a mix of four games for an hour, and my fav was the one where we had to defend our base from a zombie invasion. A close second was a game similar to Overcooked, though we were absolutely terrible at it. We also played a few shooting games, one where we protecting our base with arrows and another where we split into teams of two to battle each other out with guns. The team battle wasn't as fun with an odd number of players, so next time, I'd probably swap it for a different game or replay the existing ones. The hour flew by, and I'd highly recommend this as a group activity. Plus, while you wait for your turn or after you're done, there's jitz and board games in the waiting area to keep the fun going.
