I love this place! The last few years they've done some awesome upgrades and it is looking amazing. The food place is also really really good! read more

It's a poppin place! Open late, great service, and a fun place to dance! They are open when other places are all shut down.

X Bar ranks at the top of my favorite bar's list. The staff are welcoming and professional. X Bar has a variety of events for all types of people in the community. Drag. Dancing. Delicious food by Sabores. Sunday Drag Brunch. The upstairs Glow Lounge has a variety of weekend parties as well. Thank you X! read more

I didn't enjoy coming for the drag show and then waiting an extra 45 minutes for it to start. We all felt like it was rude and when we tried to ask people when they were starting we got attitude. I understand being a diva, you will never be on time but come on, respect that people came here to see you and have a good time. We came on a Saturday night and paid a cover to get in when no one was actually in here. We think they were postponing the show to see if anyone else was coming to watch but yeah, not our thing. My friend and his partner said they used to come here a lot but things have gone downhill since. We were really ready to have a good time but left after all of the waiting. Our business is more appreciated elsewhere (and we ended up having a much better time when we went somewhere else). read more

Love coming here for the patio! Destiny is my favorite employee ever! Staple in Denver! read more

One of the most fun and spectacular bars I've ever been to! Their buy one get one free happy hour is probably one of the best deals I've seen in my entire life, and the service and patrons that come here are just some of the nicest and most wonderful people! I love playing giant Jenga outside on the patio, or dancing to some music inside. Definitely plan on coming here every time I'm visiting from here on out. If you're in the area definitely check this place out. read more

CAUTION: PRIDE WEEKEND PRICE GOUGING. Sadly this place really upped the prices for pride weekend. Well drinks are now $8 and short draft beers are $5. Sad to up the price. They will have more than 10x the business of a normal Weekend and that's not enough for them. Way to screw your patrons during a celebration of pride. Hope you are proud. read more

This bar is unsanitary af, super dirty, and unclean. All the surfaces were sticky, including the floors. they charged me 20$ to go to an upstairs that smelled like straight up shit, after already have paid the 5$ entrance fee, and not to mention NO AC!!!! The dance floor was super small, and the bathrooms were super uncared for. cups and leftover shooters of liquor left in the stalls, empty toilet paper rolls, no soap, and wet counters. Only good thing about this bar was the drag performers, and the kind bartenders. Literally watched security let someone get jumped as they did nothing. Definitely not my vibe, and didnt feel safe. wouldnt be surprised if u caught covid-19 here. read more

I've been here a few times and have never had a problem here. Drinks can be expensive on time nights, but on Sunday's the bucket drink is a great value. I've always had a great night here when going out. read more

We were visiting from Minnesota and stopped into X Bar for happy hour. They have a really good two for one happy hour till 8 PM and then you have until 8:30 PM to use your poker chip that they give you for your second drink. They have a new Vendor that took over the restaurant. This vendor also has a food truck are called Que Desmadre. They have a variety of things on the menu from Mexican to hamburgers to chicken strips. My husband had three different tacos. He had the beef tacos, the pork taco and the shrimp taco. He said the beef taco was good, but the shrimp and pork tacos were the best he's ever had! He said the seasoning was spot on and , the shrimp was properly cooked. I was not able to do a Google review for the restaurant yet because they just started here last Monday and haven't got all of that figured out with Google yet so instead I decided to do a review on the bar. Bartender Wade was awesome too! read more

I've been to Xbar dozens of times, but had the absolute worst experience on Halloween. The bar was super packed and clearly understaffed, which I understand. I ordered a drink, and the bartender took my card and didn't give it back. After a few minutes he asked me what I was still doing there, and when I said I didn't get my card back he said he had given it back, so I left. I checked my bank account the next day, and they had charged someone else's drinks totaling about $80 to my card, and must have given it to that person, so I needed to order a replacement. I recognize this was an honest mistake, but my major issue was the attitude of the bus boy that night (bigger guy with a beard). He ran into the wings I was wearing, and then yelled at me that I needed to take them off and berated me in front of all the other customers. I understand that staff was probably stressed that night, but it's completely unacceptable to give this kind of attitude to a customer who hasn't done anything to you. My wings wouldn't have been an issue if the event wasn't extremely oversold in the first place. I'm honestly disgusted with this behavior, and will be choosing other establishments in the future. read more

So I've never been to a place that upon walking in my friend was profiled and wasn't allowed into the bar because he was walking a little swayed. I mentioned that isn't this a bar? The door lady replied yeah these people are drinking in here but he has already been drinking...I'm sorry what? So if you have been at another bar drinking you aren't allowed into X bar? My friend didn't start a fight, didn't slur his words, didn't do anything but walk inside and as someone who hadn't been drinking at all yet, it was very displeasing. Not sure if I'll be coming back here, especially if you can't have indulged before showing up. Not a good look. read more

So I guess you can't delete a review... But great bar! I didn't even realize my bad review was still up until today when I got a vote on it. Lol Yes, I had one bad expirence there but I had many more good ones. The GM took care of my issue about a week later when I saw her and the security dude calmed down from then on out. End of day, this bar has owners that care and most of the staff does too! The vibe is great for ALL people! Be there for Pride because I will say XBar is the best for Pride! read more

Great atmosphere! Went on a Sunday! Free entry and drinks were fairly priced. Good music and it was an open area.

Super fun bar with a relaxed feel to it! My friends and I love hand out here the drinks are reasonable and yummy! The shows are great and we love supporting local drag queens! Highly recommend this place! read more

Staff was very impatient and a little rude. The drinks were good, but no one was friendly and it threw the whole experience off. My group was also antagonized by the man checking our ID's at the door. I'd recommend this place if you were over the age of 30. read more

Well, timing really is everything, and mine is terrible! By the time I finally got around to checking out Bump & Grind, it's doors were closed forever :( But, imagine my elation when LivingSocial let me know there was a new drag brunch in town! It was hot, hot, hot, but we braved the patio because it looked so inviting. Our server must have agreed with us on the temperature, because she went from scantily clad to roaming the deck in just a wig, bra & panties, ha ha! Those Tilted Kilt girls ain't got NOTHIN on these ladies! The biscuits and gravy was spicy! Just spicy enough to encourage much champagne drinking ;) In fact, during brunch, they have a Champagne Bucket special, a bottle of champagne and mixers for only $10! Nice! In fact, brunch for two and champagne bucket was under $30. The prices here are very reasonable. The fabulous drag queens were attentive servers and proceeded to prance around the deck, dance occasionally and flirt with the clientele. It was so much fun! I am SO setting up a MeetIn brunch event here ;) read more

This bar has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with any where. I have never been in a establishment where the staff was so unprofessional. I will be boycotting this place and turning them in to the better business bureau for the way I was treated. the the door woman is lucky I did not press charges for assault when she smacked my phone out of my hand after I was trying to video her too prove the how outrageously unprofessional this place is ran. Needless to say i have been yelled at disrespected and assaulted and I recommend going to blush and blu pride and swagger Charlie's #vibe ect. the highlight stuff actually happens I am glad I am not the only one who deals with this. We went for karaoke night and it was super fun. Great drinks and great service! The food was great as well.

The Drag show was great last night! I'm so glad I popped back in to see it. The Queen from Arkansas makes me want to move there if that's how they come! I ran out of 1's for the first time. The ID check guy was the best! Everything is pretty good to go here. In the past the bartenders on the first floor have seemed.... grumpy... on so many occasions that I rarely order drinks here especially when I see that it's the same people. I'm here to have good time. It's been hit or miss with the 2nd floor bar, so if it's open, and I want a drink I will order from there. I read a recent review from John mentioning cigarette Smoke. I am a non smoker, and as many years as I have been coming to Xbar off and on- I have never once had any issue with smoke. Are we going to the same place??? read more

Bartenders: extremely friendly. Music: excellent - stuff from my playlist that I had never heard played in a bar or club. Great mixes. Toilets: sufficient, clean, lock on stall broke/missing. Lighting: above and beyond. Simplistically creative for a bar. Nothing overboard with tech, just right. Prices: Thursday was $3 Budweiser, $5 Blue Moon draft. Not bad. read more

If I ever move out to Denver, this will definitely be my regular weekend brunch hangout. I don't think I've ever been to a brunch this fun, and I tend to go to a lot of them out here in LA. If you go to their website, you'll also see that they have amazing specials every night ($2-$3 well drinks and shots - holy crap). So, DRAG QUEEN BRUNCH = amazing! - You get a bottle of champagne and orange juice for $10. You can also buy Bloody Marys for $3. It's not "bottomless," but it's pretty much the same thing. - Our server (Tes) was pretty much the best server I've ever had. Always attentive, always helpful, always joking around and having fun. Tes was pretty much a comedy show, and there was never a dull moment -- definitely was what made this brunch as awesome as it was. - The outdoor seating was perfect for a warm summer day. We could've stayed forever if we didn't have plans. Basically, come sober or hung over, but planning to get drunk -- and definitely with a good attitude and open mind -- and you'll have a ton of fun. read more

Ok. This bar is downtown Denver I'm from Miami so I tried this club. The atmosphere is pretty cool Bartenders are extremely nice. THE MUSIC IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! I mean come on.. Not entertaining at all...everything was good then around 10.30 everything seemed to slow down very much will not return 2/5 read more

If I could rate this lower I would because of the idiot bouncer that couldnt tell 5'8 from 5'5. It's my first time visiting from California, I'm 27 years old and 5'8 and this rude ass bouncer asks me my address for no reason because the only reason he didn't believe my ID was legit was because of his height compared to mine when I was clearly taller. I proceeded to followed his instructions, proving I was right and yet he said "I won't let you into my bar" horrible idiot of a bouncer. read more

So something has been on my mind since pride 2017. I'm hesitant to post this because its person and most people don't know about my life. However, I feel its something that needs to be said and brought to attention. History a little history, I meet this guy about two years ago, we started dating and now I couldn't imagine my life without him. I love him to death! Were in an open relationship, and yes I can agree open relationships are not for everyone. It was my first open relationship and I have never been in a more healthy or happier relationship that this one. The day or pride. I was talking to a close friend about my relationship and how we made it work as an open relationship using simple techniques such as communication, understanding and love. There was a straight woman named Leslie who was part of the conversation who did not agree with the open relationships. Again, I agreed with her letting her know that I understand that open relationship are not for everyone, however I truly love the person I'm with and would never change my relationship for a thing. She proceeded to tell me that the person I'm with does not love me and we're in a toxic relationship. I tried to explain to her what my relationship meant to me but was met with a raised voice telling me I'm a prostitute and to 'stop' I explained to her that she should not call herself an ally and be at a gay bar on gay pride and judge other gays. That type of attitude is not welcomed in a place that should be about diversity and acceptance. She called me a prostitute and later described me as a faggot, in all honesty I did tell her that she's trash and the dumpster is in the alley where she belongs. Yes, I went low and I'm sorry about that. 20 minutes later.... Twenty or some minutes after the incident I tried to apologize to Leslie, I regretted calling her a dumpster and trash. I tried to give her a hug, which she responded by calling me a 'disgusting prostitute' and pushed me away. 10 minutes later.... I was kicked out of x-bar by a STRAIGHT bar back that Leslie knew. My friends, and strangers, who heard the conversation were trying to explain the situation, however the bar back did not want to hear our side of the story and insisted that I leave. I did not argue, I left... which I regret. I knew the owner Steven, I could have easily asked to speak to Steven, who was there that day, however I did not want to cause a scene. I WAS CALLED A DISGUSTIN PROSTITUTE BY A STRAIGHT WOMAN AT A GAY BAR ON GAY PRIDE AND GOT KICKED OUT BY A STARGITH BAR BACK FOR BEING IN AN OPEN RELATIONSHIP. The bar is a great place, the bar tenders are great Steven and his partner are amazing and I understand that it was pride, which means it was busy with a lot of drunk people but please if you're going to kick people out, get the whole story before kicking gay people out of bars on gay pride. Much love! read more

What happened to the lbgtq bars in denver? I have been here many many times in hopes that each time it would be better. Sadly, it just rarely has. The updated patio area is nice but that's about all I can say. Typically I'm a pretty positive person. The dance floor is small, you wait forever for your drink, and don't go to the bathroom alone there (guy or girl). It's truly disappointing! read more

Such a mess. I went here with my friends during the pandemic and we were treated like trash the entire time we were there. Not only that, the place was filthy and we felt like we were at risk of catching COVID-19. The server we were assigned to was arrogant and rude. He was still a kid as far as I could tell and was acting like he was some sort of celebrity. He brought us watered down drinks and spilled two of them on our table and on us. He never even offered to clean up the mess. Instead, he walked away and then we had to get our own replacement drinks. Yeah, he left the glass tipped over on the table and liquid and ice everywhere. We ended up paying our tab and leaving early. Oh, and too many people smoke here. It's so gross. No matter where you sit, even outdoors, you're getting smoked out like you're in a forest fire. It's just plain nasty. Oh, and that brings me to the restrooms. They are always smelly and wet. Why? There's always at least one toilet that's malfunctioning or overflowing. It just feels like a health violation in the making. read more

I would feel weird not giving Xbar 5 stars. I mean... it's a bar where you can watch nearly naked go go dancers, catch a buzz on their cheap, strong drinks & have flirty conversations with sexy strangers!! So yes I give it 5 stars. X bar is where all the bad things happen. For instance, your straight female coworker will probably make out with all the women, you will find yourself grinding on the bars of the cage you're dancing in, your best friend is probably crying on the back patio, you def aren't paying for any of these whiskies but they just keep appearing, someone just grabbed your crotch, a girl puked on your shoe, your friends are slapping each other then hugging and you've only been here for about 45 minutes. Always a good time, always a bit scary. read more

Strange experience. My partner and I ordered a cider and were served it like normal. Minutes later, another bartender came along, told me "YOU'VE BEEN CUT OFF SINCE YOU WALKED IN HERE", and took the cider. Then she kinda spilled it all over the place behind the bar. I wasn't drunk. I had nervous hiccups for personal reasons. I don't know what the issue was, but we will not be going back. It's not a friendly, helpful, or welcoming place. read more

This is a very dangerous place to be. I have both been roofied and had my phone stolen at this bar. One of the first times I had been here I had someone swipe my phone right off the table. Using a map my phone app, I was able to see my phone heading up and down Colfax. I called the police to help me retrieve it but they were unable to do anything as I did not have the phone at a specific address but could only see it as it moved farther away. The next time I was at X bar I came in with a friend to grab a cocktail. About 25 minutes later I had half of a mixed drink (vodka soda) before I became disoriented. I soon realized I couldn't stand up straight and felt very dizzy. I tried to start heading home and that was all I can remember. I woke up with a lump on my head and all of my credit cards gone from my wallet. I have come to find out that this is not the only story like mine from this establishment. I have counted more than five people who have found themselves in similar situations after being here. It is safe to say that I will never be back here and I hope others will be smart enough to do the same.- This is the second time I am writing this post. The first time it was deleted. read more

Went here to as a friend of mine was DJing. Nice place. Great space, pleasant ambiance with the brick walls, hardwood floors. Unlike SOME Denver gay bars, this one does not have an air of dinginess and sleaze about it. Denver gays, you know of what I speak. Great addition to the Denver scene and to the Capitol Hill 'hood. The folks behind the bar were quick and accurate with the drinks. I was greeted warmly and checked on from time to time. The service here is MUCH better than other gay bars I have been to. For us queers who are not as young or buff or hot as we USED to be, being treated like I am a valued customer spoke volumes to me. I was not aware of this bar until my DJ friend told me about it and I am a Twitter/Foursquare/Facebook/social media WHORE. My message to the proprietors: If you are not already, get on Foursquare, Twitter, Facebook, etc and pimp the hell outta this place. Also, host some events! Hint: I am looking for a gay venue to hold an event with the Colorado Firefighter Calendar - http://firedupforkids.org/. X-Bar would be PERFECT. Hot firefighters would cause Denver homos to flock to this new establishment in DROVES. With a perfect location, a great atmosphere and several bars in Denver that take the gay dollar for granted (You know who you are!) the time is ripe to poach some customers to a place that would appreciate us instead of treating us like mindless idiots with credit cards. Super. What a fun spot on Colfax! Normally not my type of bar, but we were in town and hooked up with some of Wifle's friends. We were some of the first to arrive and the inside bartender was a tad overly flamboyant. Still got some beer for me and a mixed drink for Wifle. Damn. If I wasn't driving that night, I would have opted for the mixed drink. Long count pours and a multitude of servers and styles. We went out back as there was no need for the dancefloor or the cage. So many different people here. No judgements anywhere. A few large groups and some weird folks, but it was awesome. I was not a fan of the plastic pint glasses, but I know that they break when they are real glass. I will be back. This bar is similar to The Max in Omaha and I really like the vibe. Pro Tip: Get over your Homophobia and live it up. read more

Oh My Gay Hell!!! I practically had to drag some friends into the place for another go. My one friend, who shall remain nameless (Kody), walked out due to the smell. I bellied up to the bar....and sat there. It wasn't that busy....they were actually overstaffed for once. The issue was the employees were too busy flirting or whatever. Then I saw, to my horror, someone bring food out from some kitchen that lay hidden. yIKES!!! What kind of fresh Hell is this? First the economy fails, then the Euro and now this! I can't take it...UGH! I am the only sane person left ...and, yes, the smell still persists. read more

Strong drinks, dance floor, patio. I'm so there. You can't beat this place's happy hour. Buy one, get one free well and draft drinks from 3-8 P.M. (and those drinks are big!), and a free shot at 5 P.M. if you're seated at the bar. Um, yes please! The staff is always nice, and the bartenders pour a nice strong drink. Makes me a happy girl. Add in dancing when the lights go down, and I'm even happier. On weekend nights, the patio is PACKED with smokers. I don't smoke, but am usually dragged out by a friend when they want to smoke. When I leave the place, my hair REEKS of smoke, and it makes me sick to my stomach. But I deal with it. Thank you, X Bar, for never judging my antics after leaving this bar. Or at least not judging me to my face. Appreciate it. read more
