Earlier this week, came here with four people to meet up with over 40 work colleagues for happy hour. Got here around 5 p.m. and the place was already packed. Immediately got a scouting report from a colleague who had been there for a while that there weren't any spots on the second floor to sit. Since we didn't feel like eating and drinking while standing, we surveyed the first floor for a table. It didn't take long for us to lock our sights on a table that could accommodate 10+ people. We asked the receptionist if the table was already spoken for. She said no, but that we would have to get like eight more people since the table seats 12. I went upstairs, immediately found six people who didn't feel like standing either, went back downstairs, and secured the table without a fuss. Once we were at the table, we were assisted by a server pretty quickly. I ordered the pepperoni and sausage pizza. It came out in a reasonable amount of time. The pizza was large enough to serve two people. However, I only had about a third of it. I didn't want the rest of it to go to waste, but I couldn't eat anymore of it since it tasted like bland store-bought pizza, and was way too doughy. The service was fantastic. Our server checked on us multiple times. My co-worker scored a free dessert of her choice since her pizza came out a few minutes later than everyone else's. Here are my final thoughts on this place. It's great for large gatherings since the establishment is massive and has a lively atmosphere. There are plenty of tables and seats downstairs. Not as much upstairs. If you're planning to stand around, drink, socialize, and play pool, being on the second floor is your best bet. However, if you want to casually sit, eat and drink, it's probably a good idea to stay on the first floor. read more

I visited during the summer and it was HOT. I'm not sure if they have AC and it just wasn't working or if they don't have any at all. The building is so cute and the interior matches the time period. Great location being right across the street from Union Station and a few streets down from coors field where the Rockies play. The service and food were excellent as well, they do a great job with their pizza, the outdoor seating area is a nice place to sit on a warm spring day. My only gripe was the beer, I hate to say it but my 4 beer flight was below average. I tried their Lager, New England ipa, Red Ale & something else and sadly they all felt kind of flat or bland. As I mentioned before great service and food, but I had this place on my list to try because it was one of the few breweries in downtown & I was interest in checking out some local beers, but these weren't it. read more

My family and I had a really nice time here before the Rockies game last Saturday night. They have four dollar beer specials on game nights which was awesome. My husband and I split a BLT wedge salad with buffalo chicken and it was fantastic. My son had the kids chicken tenders with fries and it was a fabulous kids meal. All of it was edible real chicken yummy fries. The person was huge and then my husband, and I also shared the fish tacos, the fish tacos were definitely lacking in hindsight we should've given those a skip and just split the wedge with a side of fries. Our waitress was really nice. Big negative and this was a surprise. I did not find a changing table in the bathroom so I had to change my infant diaper on the floor, which is not awesome. I don't know if there's another bathroom somewhere that's more accommodating but if you have a diaper dependent child, that's something to definitely consider. read more

Wynkoop Brewing is a fun spot to stop at for some drinks and/or activities. The food can be hit or miss at times. The venue is huge and I've been to several events here for that reason, they have rentable areas. And check out the Happy Hour specials. On weekends it's a zoo! You may not get a chance to play pool or anything else as they have no time limits. I also was rather disgusted that the dude who's in control of the pool waiting list was on the take and expecting me to give him money to move up the list -- gross. The billiards are all upstairs! The testicle beer is actually pretty good, come on give it a try! :) Also, pro tip -- these are the best fried pickles I've had in Denver! They're spears (better than coins which can be paper thin and mostly breading), the breading stays on, and they come with a spicy ranch dipping sauce. I had to remake a home version of these because I was craving them so bad one night! Other food again, can range from average to below average. read more

This place is HUGE. It has multiple floors with seating, bars, and pool tables available. We were seated by the windows on the main floor for a group of three. They offer pretty standard food for a pub, appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, and some more substantial meals like shepherd's pie, salmon, pork chops, fish tacos, and a few other dishes. I opted for the Chicken and Bacon Salad ($16.50) and a cup of Wynkoop beer cheese soup ($7). The portion sizes are pretty generous, especially with the soup. The cup portion was much bigger than I thought, and I'm so glad I didn't order the bowl of soup. The salad was fresh and it had a good amount of toppings. The soup was very rich and filling. Next time I would probably share. Our server was nice, attentive, and made sure our drinks were filled. The bathrooms are upstairs (I had to ask after wondering the wrong way). We were there when it was quiet, but from the space it looks like it can get crowded and busy. read more

Food was not what made the place good. But if you want to hang out with friends and enjoy music and games, this is the place. I really enjoyed their music selection and playing darts. Came here for an outing with our teachers' group and it was okay. We had a mini buffet of brisket, pulled pork, green beans, and Mac and cheese, and macaroni salad. I was kind of hoping for a real salad and that there would be some sort of dessert but there wasn't. The classic beers here are solid and definitely worth trying (get a flight of them!). I also ordered a flight of their winter seasonals, and honestly, that one didn't hit for me. I went there on a Saturday night the night of the broncos vs. bills football game at 630pm. The place was packed as they have TVs for watching sports games. There was a wait for a table. I checked in with the host and was told there was going to be a 15-20 minute wait. We arrived shortly after the game was over so luckily people were leaving. The bar seating was full. The atmosphere was loud and lively. They have multiple TVs around the bar and in the standard dining area. We were seated fairly quickly with the 15-20 minute window. I ordered the Wynkoop bison burger. I was visiting Denver and heard about the different meats Denver has for burgers such as elk and deer so I decided to try something different than the normal beef patty and ordered the bison burger. The Wynkoop burger has a natural colorado bison patty, smoked gouda, pickled onions, green chili mayo, and arugula all on a brioche bun. The burger had a sweet taste to it due to the brioche bun. I asked for it medium well and it wasn't pink and wasn't overcooked. Some places when you ask for medium well the patty ends up being burnt and tough which I don't like. The patty was tender. The combination of flavors was good. It had green chill mayo on the bun. Denver is known for green chili and I wanted to try some green chile dishes. It was tasty. There were options for the sides for coleslaw or fries. I opted to sub for a salad instead for an extra $2. Our group also ordered the green chili fries and it was a big portion. The fries were smothered with white queso, pork green chili, cotija, lime crema, and cilantro. The green chile queso addition was interesting as there were chunks of green chile and tomatoes pieces that added a bit of acidity to the fries but with the queso it was delicious! The service was good and the waiter checked in with us multiple times. Overall, I would recommend this place for the burgers. The food was good and it was comfort American food. If you like sports this place is great to watch sports with friends and is good for groups which is an added plus! read more

I actually went here for the first time about a decade ago and not much has changed (in a good way). I really love the layout and vibe of this place! One, we're suckers for pool bars. Unfortunately we got seated in a back area that was the go to place for families - lots of kids and the server was swamped. Tacos were solid. The Caesar salad is huge. The fried pickles were the best I've ever had, which is why I was a little sad that the batter was not nearly as tasty on the fish and chips (which I ordered bc Francis told me they won an award. My companion had a flight of very dark beers (although they list a preselected flight, you can also craft your own) and a burger of some sort.
