We were looking forward to exploring Denver's craft beer scene. This place, kind of disappointed us. We sat at the bar and were served. The service was adequate, but not very welcoming or engaging. The beer was okay. I happen to venture upstairs to the bathroom and there is a second bar up there. This looks like the place to be. There are many pool tables, shuffleboard table, pinball machines, and arcade machines. Too bad we didn't know about the upstairs until it was time to leave.

Great location being right across the street from Union Station and a few streets down from coors field where the Rockies play. The service and food were excellent as well, they do a great job with their pizza, the outdoor seating area is a nice place to sit on a warm spring day. My only gripe was the beer, I hate to say it but my 4 beer flight was below average. I tried their Lager, New England ipa, Red Ale & something else and sadly they all felt kind of flat or bland. As I mentioned before great service and food, but I had this place on my list to try because it was one of the few breweries in downtown & I was interest in checking out some local beers, but these weren't it.

My family and I had a really nice time here before the Rockies game last Saturday night. They have four dollar beer specials on game nights which was awesome. My husband and I split a BLT wedge salad with buffalo chicken and it was fantastic. My son had the kids chicken tenders with fries and it was a fabulous kids meal. All of it was edible real chicken yummy fries. The person was huge and then my husband, and I also shared the fish tacos, the fish tacos were definitely lacking in hindsight we should've given those a skip and just split the wedge with a side of fries. Our waitress was really nice. Big negative and this was a surprise. I did not find a changing table in the bathroom so I had to change my infant diaper on the floor, which is not awesome. I don't know if there's another bathroom somewhere that's more accommodating but if you have a diaper dependent child, that's something to definitely consider.

My husband and I had a great time here! We came on a weekday afternoon when they weren't too busy. Spent a couple of hours playing pool upstairs and shared a flight of beer. Really fun place to hang out and play some pool. Beer was great and beertender was friendly and helpful.

Great service and chill vibes! Great tasting beer! The salmon is on the salty side so be mindful of that. Indoor and outdoor seating which is nice and plenty of seating! Pretty large bar area to sit at if you enjoy bar seating.

Meh. I was a tad disappointed in this place. On a positive note, the service was excellent! The beer list didn't have a lot of variety, and the ones I had were a bit bland. Got the giant soft pretzel, and the pretzel was very good, but the cheese sauce didn't have much flavor either. So, go for the great service!

Very cool historic building. The beer flights was eclectic (oyster beer anyone?), and the guy behind the counter was super informative about the history of the building and business.

This place is HUGE. It has multiple floors with seating, bars, and pool tables available. We were seated by the windows on the main floor for a group of three. They offer pretty standard food for a pub, appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, salads, soups, pizza, and some more substantial meals like shepherd's pie, salmon, pork chops, fish tacos, and a few other dishes. I opted for the Chicken and Bacon Salad ($16.50) and a cup of Wynkoop beer cheese soup ($7). The portion sizes are pretty generous, especially with the soup. The cup portion was much bigger than I thought, and I'm so glad I didn't order the bowl of soup. The salad was fresh and it had a good amount of toppings. The soup was very rich and filling. Next time I would probably share. Our server was nice, attentive, and made sure our drinks were filled. The bathrooms are upstairs (I had to ask after wondering the wrong way). We were there when it was quiet, but from the space it looks like it can get crowded and busy.

The place is nice. Large and lots of activities to do. Attended an event there and they provided a buffet and coat racks. Parking garage across the street makes it more convenient. We had the entire upstairs where the pool tables, darts, PacMan game and table shuffleboards are. Bar of course and restrooms. The servers were helpful and came around to check on us. Food was not what made the place good. But if you want to hang out with friends and enjoy music and games, this is the place. I really enjoyed their music selection and playing darts. The restrooms were clearly labelled so we knew which ones were not in working order. Clean. First time here and I'd recommend it.

You can't not check out a brewery while in Denver! I stopped by Wynkoop Brewing while exploring downtown, right next to Union Station. The classic beers here are solid and definitely worth trying (get a flight of them!). I also ordered a flight of their winter seasonals, and honestly, that one didn't hit for me. No hard feelings though, since I was mainly here for a drink. If I make it back, I'll definitely pair a beer with some food next time. Great spot for a relaxed downtown brewery experience!

I went there on a Saturday night the night of the broncos vs. bills football game at 630pm. The place was packed as they have TVs for watching sports games. There was a wait for a table. I checked in with the host and was told there was going to be a 15-20 minute wait. We arrived shortly after the game was over so luckily people were leaving. The bar seating was full. The atmosphere was loud and lively. They have multiple TVs around the bar and in the standard dining area. We were seated fairly quickly with the 15-20 minute window. I ordered the Wynkoop bison burger. I was visiting Denver and heard about the different meats Denver has for burgers such as elk and deer so I decided to try something different than the normal beef patty and ordered the bison burger. The Wynkoop burger has a natural colorado bison patty, smoked gouda, pickled onions, green chili mayo, and arugula all on a brioche bun. The burger had a sweet taste to it due to the brioche bun. I asked for it medium well and it wasn't pink and wasn't overcooked. Some places when you ask for medium well the patty ends up being burnt and tough which I don't like. The patty was tender. The combination of flavors was good. It had green chill mayo on the bun. Denver is known for green chili and I wanted to try some green chile dishes. It was tasty. There were options for the sides for coleslaw or fries. I opted to sub for a salad instead for an extra $2. Our group also ordered the green chili fries and it was a big portion. The fries were smothered with white queso, pork green chili, cotija, lime crema, and cilantro. The green chile queso addition was interesting as there were chunks of green chile and tomatoes pieces that added a bit of acidity to the fries but with the queso it was delicious! The service was good and the waiter checked in with us multiple times. Overall, I would recommend this place for the burgers. The food was good and it was comfort American food. If you like sports this place is great to watch sports with friends and is good for groups which is an added plus!

I actually went here for the first time about a decade ago and not much has changed (in a good way). I really love the layout and vibe of this place! One, we're suckers for pool bars. Two, big fan of how much wood was used in the build. Three, there's two stories which helps separate those who wanna hang with some drinks/food and those who want to play pool. The food is simple, but good. Pretty much what you'd expect from a pool bars. I personally thought the beers were solid in contrast to some other's reviews. Also, super unique name!

Out of town visitors. Caught a baseball game & went here before. Busy but was able to grab seats at the bar. Service was fast, bartender was friendly. Beers were on special before the game $4. Food was decent. Nashville hot chicken came on waffles. Caesar salad was fine- nothing special. All the beers we tried were tasty. Bar was loud as it was prior to game. Game was on the tvs. It was warm inside- needed more AC.

Ask the Community - Wynkoop Brewing

Is this a good place to bring kids?

It's more of a brewpub than a typical brewery, so it's definitely more of an appropriate place for kids! There's indoor and outdoor seating so should be easily able to find a seat with children.

Can I bring my16 year old upstairs to play pool?

Only if he has a solid fake ID

Do I have to be 21 to see the brewery tour?

Hello, we do not have a restriction on age for the brewery tour as it covers the processes and the history a bit. We will ID for the tasting portion of the tour though. Cheers!

A lot could improve here…read more We waited over an hour for a patio table for our party of six because we had our two small dogs with us. The patio is first come, first served, so we understood there would be a wait. About 20 minutes in, we decided we'd rather just get our food to go than continue waiting, so we ordered at the bar. We were told we couldn't get our food to go because there was no one available to box it up in the kitchen--they were too busy. However, they could bring our food out in baskets with some boxes so we could box it up ourselves... because apparently putting food in boxes is harder than putting it in baskets, and it makes more sense to dirty a basket instead of boxing it up. Their logic--not mine. We eventually got a table, and then waited another 20-30 minutes for our food. After an hour and a half of waiting, our food came. it was COLD. Cold. After waiting that long, how is the food cold? And somehow, while my food was cold, my husband's burger was RAW, items we ordered were missing and we were given items we didn't order... The food was overpriced, bland, unexciting, and honestly just disappointing. The servers were kind when we interacted with them, but essentially nonexistent. Not one person checked on our table--or, from what we could see, the tables around us. Water was self-serve. Drinks were ordered and picked up at the bar. We ordered our own food at the bar. Then, when we checked out, we were asked if we wanted to leave a 25% tip. Hahahaha. For who? Who exactly am I tipping? We literally received no table service, and you're suggesting a roughly $30 tip? I'm sorry, but no. This isn't our first time here, but it will definitely be our last. I'll give a smidge of grace because it was a game day and obviously busy--but not much. If you can prepare a special game day menu, you should also be prepared for game day crowds and have a plan to provide an acceptable level of service. Waiting this long for unexciting cold food, a raw burger, virtually no service, and then being prompted for a 25% tip is ridiculous. Not impressed. At all.

Staff let us sit with everything, which was greatly appreciated. I've said it before: I don't know beer terminology. Good beer or bad beer. Those are the departments. Black Shirt serves good beer. You can tell me about the hops, but understand I'm nodding with absolutely no care or credentials. The garlic bread was great. Comes in little pull-apart pieces across the whole thing, so you can keep telling yourself you're having "one more piece" while dismantling a whole loaf. Excellent engineering. Terrible oversight on my part. Pizza was great too. They let us split it and even offered my wife a different protein. Little accommodations like that make a difference. We arrived with enough luggage to suggest a custody dispute, and they were still finding ways to improve our afternoon. The atmosphere was pretty mellow when we went on a Sunday afternoon. I'd imagine it picks up at night, but we enjoyed it as it was. Good beer, great food, accommodating staff. Highly recommend, especially if you've just landed and need someone to feed you while you sit surrounded by every possession you decided required its own outfit. Also Denver airport is everything they say it is.
