Kielbasa with caramelized onions and sweet peppers

Wurstküche is consistently great! The menu is pretty straightforward - sausages in 3 categories: Classics, Gourmet and Exotics. They are served as hot dogs with two toppings of choice (extras for 75 cents each). Belgian fries are available in small or large sizes with 1 or 2 dipping sauces included respectively, with an option to add more for 75 cents each. I especially love the curry ketchup! There are sausage options for every mood. The descriptions of the type of meat and flavor profile of each sausage option on the menu are clearly explained. There are also vegetarian options available. I've enjoyed every kind I've tried here! I'm partial to the kielbasa and Filipino maharlika, but you really can't go wrong. I've tried quite a few of these. The exotics are fun if you're feeling adventurous! The fries are delicious. They're double fried - thick and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Regular ketchup and a variety of mustards are available at the tables. There is also a pretty extensive beverage menu of Belgian, German and Austrian draft and bottled beers and other drinks including cocktails, wine and non-alcoholic options. You order at the counter, they give you a number and you walk in (to the left!) to a large indoor seating area with a bar. They also have an outdoor patio. You seat yourself. The tables are lined with paper, and they have cups of crayons on the tables. They bring your order to the table, and they also take your finished trays. There is a water tap and cups to get your own water. It's a casual environment with efficient service and turnaround. I'm always happy during and after a meal at Wurstküche!

I've been going to this place for years and decided to have my birthday dinner there this past weekend. It was super easy to reserve some tables by calling ahead and the staff was kind enough to accommodate. You order your food up front and then find a place to sit. There's a huge patio, indoor space, stage area with seats, and a partially enclosed room that's semi-private. I usually order the Louisiana hot link (and often crave it) but this time I added the Filipino sausage. It was a good surprise and a little sweet. Also, opted for some fries - ya gotta add truffle to them! Tried a few beer samples at the front and opted for a sour beer which was tasty. This place is always a good vibe. Not too loud and jovial enough to have a great time with friends. Lots of street parking available and I usually don't have any trouble finding any spots.

Quick service, excellent food, and a shockingly large amount of seating! The entrance is a little confusing, but you order at the door on the right and walk left down the hallway to seating. The outside door on the left leads you directly to the bar and seating area. They have a good Belgian and German beer selection, as well as a very wide variety of bratwurst. I tried the Hot Italian and a Duvel, and I can't wait to go back and try others.

Came here for a 30th birthday, we got our own section which was such a nice experience!! My husband got us the rabbit hot dog, unfortunately while it was good nearly everyone who got the rabbit was throwing up from food poisoning so I'd maybe not go for that one! The ambiance and staff were great it was just unfortunate for everyone to be sick at golf the next day.

We tried Wurstküche after arriving in LA, and right off the bat you could tell it's a really cool spot to stop in for a bite and a beer. Decided to try something a little different and went with the duck and bacon with jalapenos, it hit the spot. Not too fatty or heavy on the duck taste, just the right balance with the jalapenos too. My son got an original bratwurst and that is a solid option if you don't want to go off the beaten path. Fries were crispy the and sauces are fun to try. They also have lots of great beer options. Staff was really friendly, my kid left his water bottle there and they kept it safe for us to go pick it up on the way out. Overall a really positive experience, worth the stop when you're in the area.

We were so lucky to find this place. It sells the best sausages in California. We love them all and wow do they have a lot to choose from. We love eating there. The place is super clean and really cute and comfortable. The outside exterior is very nice as well. The service is super good. They are fast and know their menu. They have great fries. They also sell beer and some imported. But what you want is a sausage sandwich. They are served hot and just great. We love their simple BRATWURST, which is fine cuts of pork, coriander with some nutmeg. Their BOCKWURST is yummy veal and pork. Also try some of their hard to find elsewhere ones, like RATTLESNAKE & RABBIT with JALAPEÑO PEPPERS. It is very buttery and a tad spicy. The PHEASANT with HERBS DE PROVENCE is just great. Everything they have is wonderful. You can have it delivered or do take away. What we really love is you can buy uncooked sausages there. We do that a lot. You can make your own sandwiches, add them to your pizza or put them with pasta. They are just the best. Whenever we go we stock up. They freeze well. You will love this place.

This was our first time at the Venice location, we had only been to the Arts district one. We really enjoyed our meal and the vibes. This is a great place to catch up with a friend or unwind after a long day.

Braut was good, onions were over done, hot peppers were very mild. Fries were over salted and over cooked. At about $20 for a braut and fries, a little expensive for lunch, add in a beer and tip and you are right at $30.00. Staff was friendly and attentive, indoor and outdoor seating. Might give them another try one day

Not even a sausage fan, but you cannot beat this place when it comes to food and vibes. The variety of sausages (particularly the Filipino one), the toppings, the delicious crispy chunky fries, the variety of sauces and mustards, the paper on table to color on, and the friendly vibe. Plus, game nights. Only one thing I wish they had, which is IPA and colder beer. HOWEVER, I respect them for staying true to their German origins. Great place if you're super hungry and looking for a social, friendly environment.

This is one of my friend groups's favorite places to go on a Friday night. Good food and good drinks, what more can you ask for? I love the mango habanero sausage. I'd usually go for topping (particularly sweet and spicy peppers) for some extra zing but have a tendency to have more topping on my plate than in my buns, so it's a bit of a messy eat. Just one sausage is not quite enough for meal so definitely get some fries or a second sausage if you're there for dinner. Loads of great beer options, and if you're alcohol free, the cucumber soda is also excellent. The best part about this restaurant is the space. Lots of seating even for a larger party both indoors and outdoors. And whether you're a kid or adult so much fun to draw on the butcher paper with crayons! Lots of parking in the neighborhood a short 5 minute walk away.

Ambiance: it has a chill and relax atmosphere, long bench tables inside good for large group hangout, outdoor seating with heater and fire pit, large tables are filled pretty quickly at night, and if you have a very large group reservation is recommended Service: you place the order at the counter, and grab the number tag and find your table and seats, servers will bring your food to where you sit, you can also order the beer with bartenders directly and you'll get it right away Food & Drink: standard Wurstküche menu for sausages and drinks, all sausage served on a roll, including your choice of two toppings from Caramelized Onions, Sauerkraut, Sweet Peppers, Spicy Peppers, and gourmet mustards of Whole Grain, Dijon, Spicy Brown, Honey Mustard, American Yellow KIELBASA - **** polish style, pork & beef, onions and spices, juicy and flavorful, recommend RATTLESNAKE & RABBIT WITH JALAPEÑO PEPPERS - *** buttery and mildly spicy, a bit dry, you can't really tell rattlesnake or rabbit flavors as all grounded meat to make the sausage, and the texture tasted like very lean chicken or turkey HOT ITALIAN - **** fine cuts of GMO free pork and spices, classic pick, recommend RABBIT & PORK WITH LEEKS & CARROTS - ** it's supposed to be light and clean, but in fact very weird gamey taste, wouldn't order again Belgian Fries - **** large size is good to share, tried sauces of BLEU CHEESE WALNUT & BACON, CHIPOTLE AIOLI, TZATZIKI (Greek yogurt sauce), PESTO MAYO, very crispy thick cut, recommend Duchesse Cherry - ** flanders red ale w/fresh cherries, too sour Aventinus - **** weizenbock, intense and complex, recommend Tokyo Wit - *** light taste BRLO German IPA - **** drinkable with hoppy tail, easy to drink and refreshing, recommend Price: moderate portions and pricey drinks, expect $30~$40 per person easily

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy, my boyfriend got the Hungarian brat with spaetzle, and our friend ordered the Hungarian brat on a roll. Starting with the schnitzel: it wasn't completely terrible, but it definitely wasn't good. The breading was some what soggy and sliding off the chicken, and the chicken itself had almost no seasoning besides an odd lemony sourness. The mashed potatoes were honestly awful -- extremely sour, like they were overloaded with sour cream but missing butter, salt, or any real flavor. I LOVE mashed potatoes and only managed two bites before giving up. The red cabbage was overcooked, mushy, and had a slightly off taste. Overall, the schnitzel plate was maybe a 2/10, and those points go solely to the fact that the chicken itself was technically edible. My boyfriend's meal somehow managed to be worse. The bratwurst was fine, but tasted frozen and reheated rather than fresh. The sauerkraut, according to him, "tasted like dirty socks." The spaetzle was genuinely offensive -- mushy, overly bland, and tossed with what looked like hydrated diced mushrooms that literally tasted like dirt. I honestly questioned whether it had gone bad. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself felt dirty and had a strange smell throughout. It honestly seems like a place locals may still visit out of habit or convenience, but it no longer reflects what I imagine it once was. It's unfortunate, because there's something special about a restaurant that's been around for 65 years and still tries to maintain its old-school charm. Sadly, the food and cleanliness just don't live up to that legacy anymore. Save your money unless you're only stopping in for an overpriced German draft beer. We definitely won't be back.

We were daunted by the 1.5 hr drive to where we were staying and hoped that eating closer would save some time later. It did! Rasselbock is a bit hidden away but we found it with street metered parking nearby. We had arranged for a reservation but we hardly needed it. The place was mostly empty when we arrived. Music was thumping, and not German music. It was classic rock but a touch too loud. So keep that in mind. I appreciated that they had Erdinger beer. That's some of the best beer around. I chose the non alcoholic since I had a drive ahead. I was told it might not be cold enough and the server brought me the bottle to sample it by touch. I cheerfully noted Germans don't drink very cold beer and it was fine. My wife and I ordered schnitzels, she chicken and I pork. She had the Oma's potato salad - which with mustard and mayo really would not have passed muster with a real Oma like mine. She reported it was good anyway. I had spaetzle and cucumber dill salad. The kids both had a bratwurst, salad and fries. On the whole the schnitzels were good. Not entirely authentic but USA-good enough. I'd say the same for my spaetzle and salad. One kid liked the bratwurst, one didn't. I found what I tried of the sausage to be pretty good. The stone ground mustard was particularly good. Service was a little slow to start but the food came quickly and we were off. A 4.2 rounds to a flat 4. German food is hard to come by anywhere, so I welcome it. Especially with a good selection of beer. They serve multiple sizes included a liter "mass." Sounds great but I think those days are behind me. Definitely worth a try.

I tried the tofu kielbasa in a bun which was a vegan sausage and roasted potatoes. They had several sauces on the side for you to add yourself. We sat and ate there. I would definitely go back. Portion was pretty good too.

However this last visit (05/04) was very disappointing. The person taking the orders seemed to be very distracted, and appeared to be annoyed that she had to serve me. Additionally, room had opened up at the counter, and I sat myself while waiting for my food. My food sat for a good five minutes while she was talking to another guest, and delivered it to me curtly. The cook had to deliver my fries when done, since she was still having an in-depth with the other guest (we were the only guests there). The cook had to alert the person taking orders again that I wanted another $4 + bottle of coke. Additionally the currywurst was not as good in terms of flavor as before. The sauce was not as flavorful or spicy as I remember, even though there seemed to be the same amount of curry powder on the sausage. I'm not sure why I was treated this way, I was cordial, and left a tip when I ordered (even on the bottle of coke that I had to beg to get). Hopefully this is just a one off, as I used to enjoy coming here.

Disappointingly quiet, we entered the cozy restaurant adorned by newspaper clips, polish coats of arms, and were greeted by our friendly waiter. I had the meat patties ($24) which were delectable. Rich ground beef and pork spiced perfectly and fried with an accompanying gravy. Rich, but not greasy. My wife had the chicken schnitzel ($30) which was good but not groundbreaking, and the kids a number of perogis ($25) I found excellent. Accompanying the two adult meals was soup (a delectable tomato and a surprisingly sour savory pickle) and salad. We concluded with a delicious strawberry jam crepe ($15, see photo). The soup and meat paddies were the strongest entries on the menu that evening. The service was warm and genuine, taking our order, giving recommendations, communicating in polish as per our preference, and the restaurant was cozy and clean. Prices, as listed above, were reasonable considering the accompanying soup and salad. Overall, Polka is a solid restaurant with excellent food and service at a good price. Delicious, hearty, and with a cozy atmosphere it is perfect for a date or small family looking for a genuine taste of Eastern Europe. Food: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Value: 4/5
