Bottom line, plenty of spaces. Side note, they're not all spaced the way you might expect. Walking in, the place was hopping. Much more crowded than the former business. Pretty good sized menu. They serve you the red salsa, but you can ask for the green. The kind that gives you heart burn for hours. Worth it. Both salsa were great, chips were fresh. We ordered house margaritas, and those were also very good. Pricing was average. For food we ordered the parrillada El Malecon. Mixed beef and chicken, with ribs and quail. Here's where things went a little rough. We ordered the "for two" but the entire was still in a " for one" portion. 3 pieces of steak, 3 chicken, one quail 2 rib portions. Definitely seemed off. The manager came by, and we discussed. On THEIR menu, the double portion is only 4 strips of steak, 4 of chicken, still only one quail, and two rib portions. The reasoning we were given is that people don't seem to like the quail. First, nothing about this is "for two." For 45.99 this isn't it. The chicken and beef were good, the quail was not seasoned well unfortunately, and the ribs were over sauced with a cheap syrupy sauce. Overall food was a no. But here's where I also have to give credit. They stuck with their defense, and while we discussed someone brought a plate of chicken and beef. While we weren't going to ask for anything, we do appreciate their thoughtfulness and speedy resolution. Maybe they knew it was coming , or maybe they just jumped ahead to make it work. Either way, we appreciated that effort. Overall, service was great, food was 50/50. Wouldn't do the parrilladas again, but would try other menu items.

We both look forward to coming back!! 12.20.2026 - First time finally trying this place after passing by during my commute twice a day every single day. OMG what was i stalling for!! I had the Avocado Swiss Burger and Chili Cheese Fries. I LOVE how they had the Avocado slices layered so neatly. I pay attention to details and that made me smile bcz it was so picture perfect. Most places toss random raggedy skinny pieces of Avocado on a burger that make you feel like it's a waste of money paying extra for it. JAX was chef's kiss. My burger overall was juicy, not soggy or sloppy like most places "juicy" is. It was also so full of flavor and each item shined well alone and in harmony together. I love a good chili cheese fries and JAX definitely did not miss. They had the perfect amount of chili and cheese that allowed me to taste both equally with every bite. While other places give tons of chili and only a dollop of cheese, JAX's was very nicely balanced which made it easy to say I'll be back very soon.

From what I understand, this spot was opened by a child or children of the owners of Emma's. It's a family affair and it's right down the street. The restaurant is located right outside of my neighborhood so we decided to check them out to celebrate family November birthdays. We called the day before to see about holding a table for about 10 people and they were accommodating and said they would. When we arrived the restaurant was not too busy and they never even asked about a reservation. Our waitress was very nice but service overall was a little slow. It took a couple of asks to get cutlery and napkins. They only had a couple of place settings out. They were good about refills of chips and beverages, but the food took a very long time considering it was not that busy. My crew got a variety of different things so we really got a good sample of the menu. They have all your typical Tex Mex options. I had a taste for beef so I went with the carne asada and added the flameada topping which was chihuahua cheese and chorizo. The plate come out sizzing hot and was a pretty generous portion of skirt steak. It was served with fresh tortillas, rice and your choice of beans. The steak was a little on the tougher side but the flavor was on point. The addition of chorizo really elevated every bite. The rice and beans were good but they give really small portions of that. I ended up taking food home but without rice and beans. Everyone in my group seemed to like their food. I like that they really put thought into presentation of the plates as well. Overall, it was a solid spot. Is it my favorite in Pearland? Nah. But this close proximity to my house will make it very appealing to return.
