With a can of Coke and tax the bill was $19. He went in the kitchen and fixed my meal in about 15 minutes. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Even after joining the waitlist ahead of time, my party of seven still waited about 30 to 40 minutes before being seated. Considering the holiday crowd, though, that was completely understandable. One of the highlights of the evening was our waitress, JB, who was genuinely one of the best servers I have ever had. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. We started with an order of fried pickles, which arrived almost immediately. The pickles were crispy and well fried, though I found the ranch dressing a bit thicker than I prefer. For my entrée, I ordered the 12-ounce prime rib cooked on the rare side, along with steak fries and a Caesar salad. The salad was fairly standard, and while the steak fries were nothing extraordinary, I still have not found a side I prefer more. Prime rib can sometimes be hit or miss when it comes to temperature, so I was happy to see that mine was cooked perfectly this time. It was incredibly tender and seasoned just right. The au jus kept every bite moist, while the creamy horseradish provided the perfect contrast to the richness of the meat. My sister ordered the country fried chicken, which was less successful. The chicken itself was decent, but the white gravy was noticeably salty and overpowered the dish. I also would have preferred the gravy to be served on the side rather than poured over the chicken, as it made the breading soggy and masked some of the flavor. Overall, this was another solid Texas Roadhouse experience. Between the excellent service, well-cooked prime rib, and lively atmosphere, the restaurant delivered on what it does best. While not every dish was a winner, the quality of the meal and the outstanding service made for a memorable Father's Day meal.
