I have to keep it a buck, good wings are extremely rare. All of the chains like Buffalo Wild Wings and Wingstop put out horrible food these days and there isn't much effort that goes into the wings at spots like that. But Flava Wings? Yup, they definitely have a repeat customer in me. First off, one of the easiest ways to get 5 stars out of me is to be CONSISTENTLY good. There are some restaurants I go to strictly for the experience, but quick takeout spots like Flava Wings need to be tried a few times before I feel comfortable leaving a review. I can't speak to the only slightly above favorable reviews (I typically won't try a place ranked lower than 4 stars unless someone I trust recommends it), but I can only speak from my experience. The caveat is that I have never physically been to the restaurant, so my review is based only on the quality of deliveries. For what it's worth, I hear it's in a gas station. There are a couple wing flavors that I'm pretty much addicted to and must order every time I order: the "Ooooweee Sticky & Wet" and the plain, extra crispy. The Sticky and Wet sauce remind me of a tangier version of Chicago mild sauce (if you know, you know). Their wings are full of flavor and always come fresh, hot, and presentable. What I like most is that the wings are on the bigger side but not so big that they look like they're on steroids. They have a nice crispy snap when you bite into them and the texture is always perfect. Another standout menu item is their Cajun corn and the apple pie egg rolls (just try it). The crinkle fries are also good, and I like the seasoning they use on them. They make for a good pairing with the wings. They also offer standard dipping sauces like ranch and bleu cheese. Flava Wingz is definitely a place I'd love to get a catering order from to feed a bunch of people. Everyone I have introduced this place to loves it and is also a repeat customer. I may try actually going in to see what the establishment is like, but honestly, unless I see Master Splinter from Ninja Turtles cooking my food, I will continue to indulge. I was so excited to try this place! I absolutely love wings! We came in and ordered right away. The woman who took our order said it would be about a 30 minute wait and we didn't have anywhere to be so we were totally fine with it. We probably waited 45 minutes for our food.. but it was definitely fresh because it was hot. We ordered the Yum Yum Garlic Parmesan (a wet Verizon of garlic parmesan) and the Kickin' Spicy Korean. For the sides we ordered fries and the white cheddar Mac. The Yum Yum Garlic Parmesan wings was way too salty! It was hard for us to eat them. The Kickin' Spicy Korean wings were the most basic Korean wings, nothing special. The crinkle cut fries were pretty good and the white cheddar Mac was also very good. I was happy with the sides but not the wings. And the ranch wasn't that special either :/ They also had a Kool-aid dispenser nectar to the fountain drinks and that was absolutely delicious. With as many times I have ordered I can't believe I have been gatekeeping my favorite wings place. Flava wings has the biggest, juiciest, and NOT overly oily wings ever! Today I ordered boneless wings for the first time usually I go for the bone in but can never finish them. They are so much better than the other wing places. The service is superb! The staff here has ALWAYS had a great attitude and I love coming here. I warn you, they stay busy so wait times must be something you are aware off but they also stick to the wait times or knock orders out sooner when possible. When you first walk in, the place was nice and tiny and had an amazing portrait of Kobe which says a lot of personality. The last behind the counter was amazing at helping me choose which wings and also allowed me to sample four flavors. Overall, it took the wings about 15 minutes to be made. The wings were big and juicy wings which was 8/10. I got the Sweet & Spicy and the garlic Parmesan. It was good choice!! The fries was trash!!!! They tasted like frozen fries at the concession stand. So, first things first, order ahead .. well ahead of time. I ordered about 10-15 minutes before arrival and was told that the wait time would be 1hr. As a first time patron this was a surprising to say this wasn't listed anywhere on the website, only a message saying they'll call when your food is ready. I ordered the 10 piece wing combo and I chose the flavors sweet and sticky and dry lemon pepper. The sweet and sticky wings were literally just that, sweet and sticky.. there was no flavor profile outside of the sweetness which I did not like. The lemon pepper wings were okay, I liked that they were breaded but the lemon pepper seasoning was bc definitely lacking. Came to Flava on a Wednesday afternoon after hearing raving reviews. All items are made to order. The young ladies at the register are inviting and pleasant and were patient with a growing crowd. The menu is easy to understand and breaks out the wet and dry flavors. I tried the 10 piece combo in "sassy garlic parmesean" and "my boy Cajun spice". There was a wait, from order to receiving my food I spent about 25 minutes. There is minimal seating inside and the are pretty busy. The music while waiting is nice with a good atmosphere. If you can call in your order ahead of time. I Love that everything is made fresh to order. There is so many things I want to try. The chicken was fried to perfection with a nice crunch and bold inviting flavors. They were nice and moist and not dry. Do not forget the beignets that were served piping hot and magically delicious! I loved the way art indoors and they did have mask, and sanitizer for Covid protection. For taste I'm big in having my wings extra wet. I did for it this time so I expected normal wet, u was a bit let down to see them basically dry when we got them home. My dad ordered one wet and one dry flavor and the wet flavor was just as dry as the dry one. It didn't add up to the other pictures we saw here where it looked like they would be extra saucey. My dad also mentioned that the two tasted quite similar to him and the Cajuns as a little too salty. Overall it sounds bad but the wings were good to us so we would try again at least once but we'd just try different flavors On a not so busy time and check the wings before we get home. We got Mac and cheese and fries .. fries were nasty and Mac and cheese should've been labeled as Alfredo because it tasted like Alfredo without seasoning. Everything was overcooked and looked like it was cooked in old grease. When I got home to eat my wings, I opened the cup of ranch and it was watery in the middle and thick on the sides like it was spoiled so I tossed it out.
