I have to keep it a buck, good wings are extremely rare. All of the chains like Buffalo Wild Wings and Wingstop put out horrible food these days and there isn't much effort that goes into the wings at spots like that. But Flava Wings? Yup, they definitely have a repeat customer in me. First off, one of the easiest ways to get 5 stars out of me is to be CONSISTENTLY good. There are some restaurants I go to strictly for the experience, but quick takeout spots like Flava Wings need to be tried a few times before I feel comfortable leaving a review. I can't speak to the only slightly above favorable reviews (I typically won't try a place ranked lower than 4 stars unless someone I trust recommends it), but I can only speak from my experience. The caveat is that I have never physically been to the restaurant, so my review is based only on the quality of deliveries. For what it's worth, I hear it's in a gas station. There are a couple wing flavors that I'm pretty much addicted to and must order every time I order: the "Ooooweee Sticky & Wet" and the plain, extra crispy. The Sticky and Wet sauce remind me of a tangier version of Chicago mild sauce (if you know, you know). Their wings are full of flavor and always come fresh, hot, and presentable. What I like most is that the wings are on the bigger side but not so big that they look like they're on steroids. They have a nice crispy snap when you bite into them and the texture is always perfect. Another standout menu item is their Cajun corn and the apple pie egg rolls (just try it). The crinkle fries are also good, and I like the seasoning they use on them. They make for a good pairing with the wings. They also offer standard dipping sauces like ranch and bleu cheese. Flava Wingz is definitely a place I'd love to get a catering order from to feed a bunch of people. Everyone I have introduced this place to loves it and is also a repeat customer. I may try actually going in to see what the establishment is like, but honestly, unless I see Master Splinter from Ninja Turtles cooking my food, I will continue to indulge. If you like wings that are fried to perfection, consistently tasty, and well seasoned, give them a shot. read more

I wasn't sure about the place, but oh boy! I love pluckers and this place! Prices are a bit better, you get more ranch, fries are good. The lady's service was very nice and the restaurant is clean!! I was so excited to try this place! I absolutely love wings! We came in and ordered right away. The woman who took our order said it would be about a 30 minute wait and we didn't have anywhere to be so we were totally fine with it. We probably waited 45 minutes for our food.. but it was definitely fresh because it was hot. We ordered the Yum Yum Garlic Parmesan (a wet Verizon of garlic parmesan) and the Kickin' Spicy Korean. For the sides we ordered fries and the white cheddar Mac. The Yum Yum Garlic Parmesan wings was way too salty! It was hard for us to eat them. The Kickin' Spicy Korean wings were the most basic Korean wings, nothing special. The crinkle cut fries were pretty good and the white cheddar Mac was also very good. I was happy with the sides but not the wings. And the ranch wasn't that special either :/ They also had a Kool-aid dispenser nectar to the fountain drinks and that was absolutely delicious. They have a good variety of sauces and the wings are huge! We were both pleased with our meals. I had the 10 piece boneless combo and subbed in Mac and cheese (comes with fries). The white cheddar Mac was sooo good and creamy. I went with the garlic Parmesan sauce and the Korean sauce. I favored the Korean but both were great! They have amazing spicy ranch as a dip too (blue cheese or regular ranch as well) They offer koolaid, which we were super excited about, but we came late on a Wednesday and it was gone for the night. Typed in search bar "wings near me" and Flava Wings popped up. Had good reviews so decided to try them out! When you first walk in, the place was nice and tiny and had an amazing portrait of Kobe which says a lot of personality. The last behind the counter was amazing at helping me choose which wings and also allowed me to sample four flavors. Overall, it took the wings about 15 minutes to be made. The wings were big and juicy wings which was 8/10. I got the Sweet & Spicy and the garlic Parmesan. It was good choice!! The fries was trash!!!! They tasted like frozen fries at the concession stand. Really need to step their fry game up. Wings are amazing to be paired with mediocre. Ranch sauce was weird consistency. I didn't personally like their ranch sauce. We were told to try this place with an intense recommendation "omg you have to try this place!" So we were stoked. Placed our order over the phone, and I was a little annoyed that I couldn't pay with cash in person when I picked them up but whatever, every place has their rules. The wait was an hour so I'm thinking "okay they gotta be good!" Well, we were severely disappointed. My first bite of my bbq wing was so hard. They were burnt and dry even though it was a wet style sauce. My husband's wings (lemon pepper) were also super dry, hard to bite into, lacking flavor and super salty. My daughter took a bite of her garlic Parmesan and decided to eat chips instead. Hers were also lacking flavor and also overcooked. I ordered the 10 piece wing combo and I chose the flavors sweet and sticky and dry lemon pepper. The sweet and sticky wings were literally just that, sweet and sticky.. there was no flavor profile outside of the sweetness which I did not like. The lemon pepper wings were okay, I liked that they were breaded but the lemon pepper seasoning was bc definitely lacking. I have been coming to Flava Wings since they first opened on McHard Rd. I drive the short distance from MO City because I prefer them over Wingstop. The wings are a nice size, always fresh and not overly greasy and customer service is top notch.The dining area is nice and the murals add "flava" to the decor. Food is great but I personally don't like their order process. 1st off you order on line but nowhere does it say your order very well might take 90 minutes or more so you can make a decision to continue order or not! Second off they call you when your order is already ready which means if you live more than 10 mins away by the time you get there and get back home to eat, your food is cold or warm at best! I feel like they should call you when they are about to start on your order, not after it's already bagged and ready to go! Came to Flava on a Wednesday afternoon after hearing raving reviews. All items are made to order. The young ladies at the register are inviting and pleasant and were patient with a growing crowd. The menu is easy to understand and breaks out the wet and dry flavors. I tried the 10 piece combo in "sassy garlic parmesean" and "my boy Cajun spice". There was a wait, from order to receiving my food I spent about 25 minutes. There is minimal seating inside and the are pretty busy. The music while waiting is nice with a good atmosphere. If you can call in your order ahead of time. I Love that everything is made fresh to order. There is so many things I want to try. The chicken was fried to perfection with a nice crunch and bold inviting flavors. They were nice and moist and not dry. Do not forget the beignets that were served piping hot and magically delicious! We got Mac and cheese and fries .. fries were nasty and Mac and cheese should've been labeled as Alfredo because it tasted like Alfredo without seasoning. They don't give refunds so don't get the Mac nor the fries.. I would suggest just get wings bone in and that's it because u can't swap for something else. Probably won't be returning. read more
