This store is kind of like a landmark point when traveling up to see my mom…read more She lives in the Georgetown area and to my disappointment, there are a bunch of twist and turn style roads to get up here from the 916. One particular recent visit (to organize mom's house! home edit anyone?) I had just taken my cat to the vet for a routine check up in Folsom, so I wanted to get on the road right after. About halfway into the drive up, started to smell either a bad fart or my poor kitty had gotten car sick....and sure enough, she had pooped under the seat. Poor thing. Must've felt like a boat ride in choppy waters. She was fine and luckily enough, we arrived soon after, but I decided to stop here just before Mom's to see if they carried any of those pet friendly enzyme odor fighting chemicals. Found one that is pet safe, organic, and plant based so a few spritz of that, we were good to go. What I did notice here is that the market is well kept, smelled clean (always a good sign), pretty well organized, I was able to find everything I was looking for despite not being familiar with the general store layout. Staff were friendly too. I would definitely stop here again. Even the Deli looked yummy! Might get a fresh sandwich to go next visit.

My husband told me to give it a chance because it could be just a simple mistake and I did over and over again. In my opinion it's not a mistake. Now I understand why they will ask if you want a receipt. That in itself is not appropriate ,you always hand the customer a receipt and if they refuse it then so be it. The heffer at the register was rude when I called her out on it. In her mind it's only a few cents or a dollar or more so it's perfectly normal. (idiot) That is not the point. It's the principal! Price gouging is stealing period. In my opinion they obviously take full advantage of the ignorance in that stagnant town. Get your receipt and check it and then grow a spine and speak up. A few cents times a few hundred people is a good chunk of change.

It's more than just a market. Yes, they have the usual grocery and sundry items, but they also have clothes. Souvenirs. Some hardware items. Fishing and camping gear. They have a decent hot and cold deli, and they also do espresso drinks. I stopped by the deli, and I decided to have the pastrami on provolone with rye bread. It also came with the usual fixings, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and Dijon mustard.. I got my sandwich and took it out front to enjoy the nice day. The sandwich was huge! They were very generous with the pastrami, all of the Fixin's played very well with the pastrami, and I loved that rye bread. The bread didn't hold up to the sandwich perfectly, it was falling apart, just a little bit, but hey. It happens. It was just an absolutely excellent sandwich. I was going to stop at half, but it was so good, I finished the whole thing, and waddled away. The price for this great sandwich and a soda was extremely reasonable. Next time I'm up here, I will be back. Thanks.

He looked at me and another guy and said "who was here first". We both stated I was there first and I started to say that I wanted to order a turkey sandwich. The young man behind the counter interrupted me and said "fill out that paper and put it there" as he was pointing to the counter. As I was doing so, he stated to the other guy "what are you getting, I'll get that started". Nice gesture to the other guy. Then, I completed my sandwich request form and put it exactly where the young man told me to. Behind a few others walked up, completed their sandwich request form and placed them next to mine. One by one, other sandwich request were completed until myself and someone else asked about my sandwich. It was only after a white lady was in unison with me and asked about my sandwich, did someone take my sandwich request form and completed it. Oh! Did I mention that most everyone else there was white in color? As i finally received my sandwich, I went to the self checkout to pay for my sandwich. After I paid for my sandwich, there was a lady there by the name of Terri. I asked Terri if there was a manager that I could speak to. Terri immediately stated "I'm a manager". I told her my complaint and Terri immediately stated I was lying. Not only that Terri asked me "did you pay for that"? As I had my sandwich in hand, I stated "yes, I paid for this, here is my receipt". I've shopped Raley's and Bel Air for years. I am a loyal customer and have been for a very long time. I have never felt that type of treatment from Raley's and Bel Air. I expect that from places but not from there. Not from there. Here is a picture of the guy at Raley's that treated me so well.

I was one of the pie people. Having had Ikeda's Marionberry Pie before, I knew the quality and expected such. The quality was there and I liked how the pies were readily available for you to grab and go. What made a terrible impression and made this visit one I wish I did not take, making me give 3 stars out of 5, was the young woman who checked me out. I ordered 4 pies and two were gifts so I asked for two extra bags. She answered in an annoyed way that they're $.25 each. No problem I said and paid for them. This extra one minute really seemed to have bothered her and it's terrible that she made me feel unvalued in such a short amount of time. She seemed to be eager to help the party behind me, which is great but she had no finesse in her customer service. I believe she could've made my experience completely different and still acknowledge the people after me. She made it seem as if I'm less important of a customer than they were. She also didn't bag my 4th pie which was awkward because she gave me the bags there. I'll be back but I won't be in a hurry like I was before. These small personal nuances are what makes small businesses great. When you're client facing it's so important to know this. It doesn't take much to be kind or provide great service.
