I haven't been up to Georgetown in quite a while, so I decided to come up for a drive on a pretty day. I saw the sign, and I love a good deli, so I decided to stop in. It's more than just a market. Yes, they have the usual grocery and sundry items, but they also have clothes. Souvenirs. Some hardware items. Fishing and camping gear. They have a decent hot and cold deli, and they also do espresso drinks. I stopped by the deli, and I decided to have the pastrami on provolone with rye bread. It also came with the usual fixings, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and Dijon mustard.. I got my sandwich and took it out front to enjoy the nice day. The sandwich was huge! They were very generous with the pastrami, all of the Fixin's played very well with the pastrami, and I loved that rye bread. The bread didn't hold up to the sandwich perfectly, it was falling apart, just a little bit, but hey. It happens. It was just an absolutely excellent sandwich. I was going to stop at half, but it was so good, I finished the whole thing, and waddled away. The price for this great sandwich and a soda was extremely reasonable. 4/13/2023: I broke down purchasing homemade baked goods-one brownie and two cookies, i.e., two chocolate toffee cookies and one chocolate brownie . . . it will be painful metering, controlling my sweet tooth! I really will try controlling slowing down inhaling these two cookies and brownie in one or two gulps; however, sometimes, I find it virtually impossible when homemade baked goods are so deliciously delectable! I have never ever had a good experience here. The owner/ employees are always rude. A few weeks ago I walked in with another person to grab a quick drink and instead of talking to us or even walking up to us the owner yelled across the store to hurry up and leave. It was about 10 minutes before closing so I get it. I have been in this market many times hoping it would be a good experience and I am always disappointed. I do not recommend going here if you care about service. read more

Cute general store in Georgetown. We had the Daily Special sandwiches (Turkey/Swiss/Avocado on French Rolls). I ordered mine w/ "everything", which included the meat/cheese and lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo. No peppers or mustard but it didn't make a difference-very good. Lots of variety in there. My granddaughter had a Lunchables pack from their fridge and we also got their broccoli salad (delicious!) The staff was friendly and the locals seemed welcoming. Would visit again if in the area. They jack up their prices because they're the only game in town for groceries and they milk the community because we're so far away from grocery stores in auburn. Other than the prices sucking, the staff is always cool. read more

2nd time we've stopped @this Worton's during target shooting trips to Ice House- fresh, large & tasty sandwiches. I dig the Mediterranean pasta salad as a side too. Employees are all the friendliness you expect in smaller towns on the Divide. Skip Subway & do the independent deli, you won't regret it. read more

Cute little merchandise shop that also has deli. The special today was ham and cheese. We choose a Dutch crunch bread and added avocado. It was really good. While we waited my wife and I walked around the store and looked at all the cutesy items. Sand which prices were very fair the quality and quantity the we received. We have started sharing meals. And this sandwich was perfect for us to split. We also got desert ok so splitting the sandwich was suppose to help our waistline but it really allows us to share a slice of key lime pie. It was rich oh and so good. Get one if you like key lime. You will regret it later if you don't. Seriously you'll be sitting in your car at a stop sign and trying to kick yourself for not getting it. I can't decide if this is a convenience store or a grocery store. It's very small, but somehow manages to have a meat counter, pastry counter, and limited produce section. I'd say its more of a place to buy your quick items - water, snack, band-aids, etc., but they have an interesting array of offerings for such a tiny place. People are very nice; they will help you figure out how the hell you ended up in Georgetown and give you directions back to reality. read more

This was once the only grocery store in this tiny town, but when a larger market opened nearby, the purpose was shifted to be more of a variety store. It's like a gift shop, deli, cafe, and liquor store all rolled into one. I got a fantastic soy latte (living in another tiny town nearby, I can attest to the fact that decent espresso drinks are hard to come by in these parts), a great piece of German Chocolate cake (I'm not even a big German Chocolate fan), a nice bottle of wine, two cute coffee mugs, and a couple of fun framed pictures. That was just in one aisle! I was afraid to venture any further, because I really had only gone in to get coffee and made the mistake of letting my eyes wander while my coffee was being made. LOL The employees were very warm and friendly, too. I had my coffee and cake sitting under the trees in the park down by the American River Inn (a couple of blocks away). I really enjoy it here! Located right near the main square in Georgetown, this little market/deli has charm! Everyone who works there is always glad to see you and greets you with a smile. It's a small market with just about anything you'd need there. I always go in for a lunch break when I'm out riding my motorcycle through the foothills. The deli sandwiches there are great! They are large sandwiches made to order with good quality meats and cheeses. My group of 5 stopped in yesterday afternoon after riding out to Icehouse and back for lunch. Our sandwiches were great! It is a big sandwich, so be hungry or be ready to take half of it to go. After getting our food we stepped out front where there are several small bistro tables with chairs sitting out right off the main drag through Georgetown. read more

This is a wonderful little market! Personal and good attention. The deli is the best! So much better than the large grocery chains. Love supporting local businesses. The owners are often on site. If you ever happen to be in Georgetown this place is a "must" stop off, great variety of things (we spend more time looking at all the neat things than shopping), we grab food and drinks here on the way to our mountain adventures. Great deli sandwiches are excellent (not like the chain stores that are all produce), good coffees, beer selection, fishing gear, clothing, camping supplies and everything else you can imagine. If up this way at Christmas time you can find very unique items here for gifts. The store is full of "never seen before items". Just a fun place to check out. read more

This place is great, I make it a priority to stop in on the way up to the claim to get lunch as I use to bring food but the sandwiches are soo good and the atmosphere as well. Just for the record, we're locals. Twice we've had macaroni salad that has had mold--sometimes they date their food, sometimes not. I say bring on a Dollar General with service like this. read more
