For those in a hurry, pre-packaged options are available. Despite our large group and other customers, the friendly staff efficiently handled our orders, getting our food to us much faster than a traditional sit-down restaurant could have. We enjoyed our meals at the outdoor picnic tables, taking in the stunning, panoramic views from high above the treetops. Whorton's Market is a must-visit in the area. It has been family owned for decades and they made me feel so comfortable, but I was not there to shop around. I was there to try the food goods created by the smoker and whoever does this delicious array of foods. There were many options to choose from in their heated display case. Burgers, breakfast burritos, brisket sandwiches, ribs... I think there were a couple more options, but I couldn't decide on one. So I went with some smoked pork ribs and a brisket sandwich. It was $28 & change. It felt a little on the expensive side for 4 ribs and a sandwich. However... it was damn delicious!! When I got home, I did add a little salt, pepper, & mayo in the brisket sandwich... and then for me, it was fire! The smoked pork ribs were soooo goooood with the dry rub that was on them. Tender and juicy ribs... mmmm! I'm not sure if sauced ones were available, but I really liked these the way they were. Evidently the owner had passed the month before we discovered her market. The gal tending to the store was phenomenal and so accommodating! I'm not a fan of premade hot sandwiches and she was great about making me one made-to-order. It took a bit as she was manning two jobs, but wow was it worth it. Brisket sandwich to go take to the cemetery to visit my mom. I really hope they remain open with the same service an true quality of food. The potato salad was also perfect. It was even warm when I purchased it, which made it seem like it had just been baked. However, when I got home, it became obvious that the bread was actually several days old and already stale. It seems like the bread may have been reheated to give the impression that it was fresh, which is very misleading to customers. If a product is not fresh, customers should be told the truth instead of being misled. So I wrote my little list today and found it disturbing as most of the items that are on sale are located on the bottom shelf, especially the eggs that are on sale for 2.99. I'm 70 and even if I was younger, this would've been hard to get down to that bottom shelf to get the eggs without dropping them on the way up especially if somebody didn't close the packaging. I finally did manage to get them. And then I went to look for the Kellogg's cereal that was on sale. Same thing the only two that were marked on sale were at the very bottom... Decided to pass. Oh I remember another item was yogurt. I was looking for the fage ones and then saw the 10 for $10 advertisement for the tillamook and they're on the bottom... I started getting them and then I'm like I can't lean over that many times to get all 10 so I put the ones I had gotten back and bought the others that were still like almost at the bottom, just went shelf above them. But anyway, all in all, it's a nice story and everybody was Pleasant there and store very clean... I did buy something not on sale...a beautiful red onion I haven't seen a decent onion probably in about two or three years any other stores lol. The selection of goods is not overwhelming like in the giant Indian supermarkets of Berkeley or Los Angeles. I can always find what I need here at Bharat. The fresh produce section is small. The vegetables are usually pretty fresh. I buy fresh turmeric root here for 70% less money than Safeway. My guilty pleasure purchases here are in the freezer section. The samosas, biriyanis, roti, parottas, naan, kulchas call to me. Not the healthiest of items, but certainly better than American factory made breads. If you are from the sub-continent and live on this side of Roseville, you probably know this store. I actually prefer this store over the Reliance market on Fairway.
