I got a pedicure and a no chip manicure from my favorite tech Rose. She always does an amazing job! The vibe is chill and low key. They always have good music playing and Hallmark movies on. The price is pretty average compared to other nail salons. read more

I will never return here again. I came here for a simple manicure and pedicure, and the young lady that did my nails was very rude. Directly after my pedicure, before beginning my nails at the nail station, she insisted that I pay for my nails at that moment or else she wouldn't do my pedicure. Not a single other customer was forced to pay for their nails before receiving their service. I will also add that none of the other customers looked like me. It was extremely unprofessional and 100% prejudice. I will NEVER return. read more

I started coming to this place due to convenience. It's right next door to a grocery store and it's a big place and I never have had to wait. Rose is my technician and is very professional and has done a great job with my nails. I've had the basic mani and pedi. I have never had a problem with trimming of my nails or nail polish chipping soon after application. Lots of colors to choose from and they of course offer other mail services. The place is clean and the front desk takes care of you quickly. Try it out! read more

This is the second review I wrote in regards to their timing of opening. I arrived at 930 when the door and website says they open. Staff did not arrive until 945, and then had to open up the store prior to me being taken care of. I don't find many jobs where showing up to work 15 minutes late is acceptable. Other than that, I continue to be pleased with their services. Just wish they would open up at the time advertised. read more

I have been to this salon a few times over the years, when my girl is off at my salon. It has never been my "Go to place". The girl who answers the phone & makes appointments (Fancy), also does nails at the same time. I never had any problem with her taking reservations while doing my nails. However; the last time she was doing my nails, a lot of calls were coming in. When another call came in, I thought "Great! I can run to the bathroom"! I was happy to be able to go & wasn't gone longer than 2 min. tops. She chastised me when I got back! She told me "If I didn't like her answering the phone, I could go to someone else"! At first, I thought she was joking. Then realized she was not. I told her I just needed to use the restroom for a minute while she was busy & that I had no problem with her taking calls. She repeated herself & I thought, okay, I won't go to her again. Came in one last time. Had the worst pedicure in my life, by a guy with a bad attitude. Toe nails were jagged, not shaped with a sloppy polish job. They gave me an attitude & said they would do them again. I was done with this salon. No, I will NEVER go back. read more

My nails were done with a lot of pain from drill to filing. I have cuts on my fingers and my thumb nail is cut at cuticle line. I couldn't relax, just waited for next "ouch". read more

Came here for the first time last week . Does not appear they sanitize equipment after each use . Directly after using the equipment on me . The same equipment was used on another client. Very unsanitary and health safety hazard! The staff was not very welcoming. On to the mani pedi . My pedicure was sloppy and 5 year old could have done a better job . My manicure was okay and nothing to brag about. I am really surprised this establishment was recommended at all . Over priced for unsanitary and subpar work . Using a nail tool under Various people's nails is gross . The amount of boogers and feces and other germs under people's nails is disgusting and spreads germs and diseases. read more

World Star Nails and Spa - ONE tray with product for 2 clients - Nail Salons Near Me - Darien, Illinois

My first visit here was just the other day and during one of the busiest weekends before the Christmas holiday. My regular nail salon was overbooked so I decided to give World Star a try. It was very busy but I figured it would go a little quicker because they had a lot of techs working and the place is huge. The gentleman working the front desk (perhaps the manager) was very nice and was doing his best to coordinate everyone. I requested a manicure & pedicure and waited about 5 minutes to be taken back to the pedicure chair. I waited another 25 minutes until the next tech was ready. No biggie considering how busy it was. The tech was very rough and jabbed my nails to clean them. His massage was also very strong but I enjoyed it. I can see where others might think it was a bit too rough. While I was there I overheard an elderly woman getting upset with her nail tech regarding having made an appointment but not being taken care of during that time. She said it has happened to her multiple times and "if you weren't so great at doing my nails I would never come back here." I did overhear them telling people to make appointments but it doesn't seem like that would help much considering the hectic time of year. Pros: The standard pedicure comes with a sugar scrub. Large space. Clean and comfortable facility. Cons: During my pedicure, my nail tech placed the hot towels on my legs & then left for a smoke break! He came back reeking of cigarettes. I think $45 for a basic manicure & pedicure is a little steep. My biggest issue!!: I work at a company that uses sterilization pouches so I'm familiar with how to use them and what they look like when used. World Star Nails is pulling a bs illusion move on their customers! The techs bring out the nail tools in one of these pouches and empty them from the pouch to the tray. This gives you the impressing that these tools have been sterilized in the pouch. THEY HAVE NOT! The pouches that I saw were not sealed and the indicator hadn't changed colors so the tools were not sterilized in those pouches! It seems silly that they are pulling this move and trying to indicate to their customers that each tool has been sterilized. I'm sure they have been cleaned but if you're not actually using the pouch and sterilizing in them, then why bother trying to fool your customers? Purely based on this catch, I won't return. read more

Came in when I saw the 20% off sign while shopping at Jewel one day. I went on a Tuesday around 5 pm and did not have to wait. They had hundreds of no chip colors. I'm on day 10 and my color has not chipped yet. I appreciate that you can tip on your card. It was very spacious and clean inside. My nail tech said the 20% goes until June. I would highly recommend this new place. read more

Got a full set gel done and 5 out of 10 of them had broken off in less than a week. Very disappointed considering how much I paid. Update: went in to get them fixed and they made me pay full price and it almost seemed as though they did not believe me. Got them fixed, and another nail broke 3 days later. Vicky did my nails both times and both times hurt me and didn't stop after I told her it hurt. VERY disappointed about how much I have spent here and how bad the quality of work is. Other nail techs may be better, but Vicky was very disappointing. read more

The most horrible pedicure / manicure I've had anywhere. Cut my toenails at an angle and so short they could not be straightened out to look right. He put some sort of additive in the nail polish that I chose off the shelf which made the Polish dull and sandpaper like. After 2 hours the polish was already chipping off. So disappointed and wish I had looked at the reviews before going there today. read more

Had my nails done for a wedding. There was so much thinner in the polish, it left streaks. I went back to have them fixed and was told they were too busy, I was told to come back in an hour. I explained that I couldnt, he just walked away and said nothing. This is what they look like 4 days later. Not a great nail place at all. read more

April did a full set for me and we did different colors and designs and she nailed it! And didnt even seem bothered by me bringing up pinterest and ideas etc. I did will be returning here, AND they have a punch card for visits sooo im sold on this place for sure! read more

Very pretty place. I love my nails. Reasonable prices. I will go back Nicole was nice and she took her time.

Came here with my sister after we both received coupons in the mail for their grand opening. We each got a spa pedicure, she got a regular manicure and I got the no-chip. We both loved our nails. My nail tech May was very nice, gentle, and took her time with the massage portion. She also was very understanding when I told her I didn't want her to use one of the instruments on my feet because I always get cut. The regular prices were a little steep for this stay-at-home mom, but I'll definitely return for some self care when I have the extra money to splurge! read more

Overall they do nice work. However I have some big advice for ownership: you have to figure out how to speed up the process. I have been coming to world star since opening because the place I was going and love was always so packed. When I would get a pedicure and a dipped manicure, they would have 2 people working on me at the same time. Out within an hour. For working people that is what we need. Unfortunately at world star, even with 2 separate people doing the work, they don't work at the same time and it took over 3 hours. Would love to keep giving you my business but won't be able to if I need both done. I honestly think you will get more business if you fix this. The place is clean, spacious, organized, and has a play area for kids. Make it more convenient and business will increase! read more

My second time there last Thursday and the technician used the pumice on my calluses and caused a bloody spot. She apologized and didn't mean it of course, but it's five days later and it's so infected that I can't put a shoe on and will have to see a doctor. My daughter got a gel fill and nails were lumpy. I came here because I heard that they give a nice leg/foot massage, and they do. I don't know if I'll go back. read more

The reason i give them 1 star its because before covid they always har coupons sending home or from jewel receipt on the back, after covid started, they stoped with all coupons. I ve been their customer since the opened the salon and i ve soend some money there, even recommend them to my friends. Its a really nice salon, looks so nice and clean, but its too pricey to pay regular price every2-3 weeks on manicure and pedicure without coupon. So i wsked the girl if the customers since day one get a discount, mostly if thr salons give at least 20% off if they dont have coupons, she said no and she handle me punch card, but before no body gave me punch card cuz by the time i would of had 3 or more punching cards.Since then is toped going there and i hust buy a groupon woth good deal on nails. Disapointed! read more

I've gone to this place several times but recently had a terrible experience that I'm still dealing with one month later. One of the men removed my nails which had been dipped a couple weeks prior. He took so much off the top layer, that my nails bled underneath and burned after going home. One month later, I'm still waiting for half my nail to grow back as the tips are still thin to the point you can see a light layer of blood underneath. I've had my no chips and dips removed several times without issue-I would caution to not allow them to use anything other than foil to remove a dip (he used an electric nail file I think). read more

So I had a coupon for this place. $48 for No chip manicure and spa pedicure. When I walked in I was warmly greeted by Kelly, she offered me hand sanitizer and had me sign a waiver. Which I thought was great everyone had on mask and gloves & I could see the staff sanitizing areas after customers. Kelly started with my pedicure, she used new tools for my pedicure fresh out the package. No cross contamination! Kelly noticed that I had an infection in my big toe from an ingrown toenail I didn't even know I had. Kelly was so gentle when cleaning and clipping around the area of my big toe. I was pleasantly surprised. My pedicure was great. Kelly walked me over to a fresh station & started my no chip manicure. Once again Kelly was kind, gentle and attentive. My only reason why I gave them 4 stars is because Kelly didn't use enough coats of polish on my feet and toes. Will I go back? Yes Kelly was great! Will ask for more polish Yes! read more

Ladies, Ik we say there so many nail salons there almost all alike..NO~NO~NO, not this one. They have 3 salons ,Orland, Frankfort and here. I live in woodridge and traveled to Frankfort to get my nails done did this for over 4yrs. See I work in landscaping and as you know a hands on job. Needless to say you need strong nail but to say on and not lift (that was always the problem I ran into with other salons).I do long gel nails and NO they are not thick!! Very natural. Mind you my hands are working hands & on weekends Im a makeup artist so I need to have professional pretty hands. Lol When they opened this salon here in Darien. Now my back yard. I was so elated The owner Amy is over at this location., To make sure everything runs very smoothly & if your a walk in she will try to get you seated fast. She is so caring, talented, professional, beautiful atmosphere, most important CLEAN ~CLEAN. You will love this place & everyone is so friendly and talanted not like your average nail salons THEY DON'T rush you in and out like some other salons. They give you the royal treatment. They offer so many services to choose from. You MUST try there pedicures. HEAVENLY. The prices are very REASONABLE..... read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I walked in the other day with my daughter more than a half house before closing. I was told they couldn't service me for a polish change because the only nail tech who could take off polish were busy. I'm confused... soooo you mean to tell me no one here could change my polish?! I didn't need a fill. Just a simple polish change. She's like well we close at 5pm. I'm like I've been here since 4:20! Smh. They even turned 2 pedicures away. How lets money walk out the door like that?! Ended up taking my daughter to Pro Nails by the Starbucks on Cass and Plainfield Rd. The two ladies who walked out because they couldn't get pedicures ended up at the same shop as well. I won't be going back to World Star nails even with their 20% off discount. I'm good. Tanya at Pro Nails never turns customers away. She makes sure to get that paper. read more

The salon is very beautiful and the people are very polite, but when I came in for my acrylic set I specifically asked for a regular set and the tech did no chip. This was the fastest pedicure I have ever gotten... and it's not a good thing! The foot massage she gave me was not really a massage- more like just spreading the lotion on my leg! There was no pressure at all! And she didn't use clean water to rinse the soap off my leg! After she put the nail polish, I inspected it and the cuticles weren't cleaned off good and I had to tell her to "snip it off" more and also apply more nail polish on my 5th toe because I could still see some nail. Definitely will not be coming back here anymore! read more

I did not like it here. I asked for a polish change , and they ended up giving me a whole spa pedicure. The polish didn't last long. The foot massage was painful. Was not able to communicate with the technician. Would not go back. read more

I was a walk in and immediately got seated. The place is nice and clean looking. My manicurist did a nice job on my nails. I only wanted a manicure. The reason for 3 stars.....the equipment used was not sterilized before using it on me. The nail file was in dilapidated condition. I am really concerned about infection, which could be spread by unclean utensils. If they clean up their act, I would go back as I felt the prices were fair and it is convenient. read more

The place is beautiful but the staff is not friendly from the owner to the nail operators. My daughter & I went in to check it out. She got acrylic nails & they were so thick they looked horrible and pudgy and they were not shaped right. She went to a new nail place to get them fixed, they were that bad and the second nail place said they were terrible and were shocked! I got a dip & I asked the gentleman to file my nails and cut them down a little and he said they were fine within one day I had a cracked nail and proceeded to go back to have it repaired and waited very long in which the owner was very rude to me when I went back. And within one week all of them were chipping so I had to go back to my nail place which I will continue to return to and never come back to this horrible place!!! read more
