Decent pedicure, quiet salon- at least when I went on a weekday late afternoon- friendly and helpful owner. Appeared clean and well maintained- always important. OK when you need something quick and can't get in elsewhere. Wide selection of polish colors/types. Parking however is a pain- plan to leave early to find a decently close spot on the street. Nail time is a great little nail salon. I love no chip manicures but I've had them done at several other salons and my nails always need a break afterwards. Nail Time no chips do not leave my nails brittle or dry. I can do back to back no chips without issues. They are practicing excellent precautions with COVID. Your temperature is taken at the door along with a squirt of hand sanitizer. Masks are required for all. And there are plexiglass shields between the customer and the manicurist. Worse place on earth I literally never want to enter another nail salon thanks to them. These people are thieves and don't care about customer service. All they care about is their money and tips. They have no idea how to upkeep on product that's why my nails are always destroyed same day and no idea on how to properly use "dip" for manicures. I'm beyond livid and disappointed that yet again after going in for a re-do they have the audacity to charge me again for a a service that was supposed to be free and again the same issue reoccurred. I have thin, brittle nails so I always get a coat of nail polish to protect them. Though I love no chips, my nails always needed time to recover after getting them due to how sensitive and damaged they were. At NailTime, I have been getting back to back no chips for the past couple of months with absolutely no issues and my nails look & feel great! They always take great care of my nails and put a lot of effort into making sure my nails are not damaged or dried out during the manicure. I can get back to back no chip manicures here and my nails are still healthy. Other salons, I have to wait months between no chip manicures because layers of my nails come off with the gel. I have had 5-6 no chip manicures here in the past year and each time they last 3+ weeks and my nails are still healthy. They never chip, but my nail bed starts to show because my nails grow fast. They seem to have some better products/tools compared to other salons, like these lotion gloves they put on you while they're painting your nails. I have followed the owner of this nail spa around a couple of times to various locations; she used to own a shop in my suburb, sold it, and now has opened up in Hinsdale. I honestly must say that she has done the best job with my nails and pedicures, and I have been to lots of places! She does a unique type of nail overlay called a diamond set, using this powder to sculpt a very natural looking nail; and these are the hardiest, most natural nails I have ever had. A diamond set requires a great deal of skill to be able to work with them successfully, and I highly recommend her skills! Now, ladies and gentlemen both, rush here to get a wonderful pedicure and a foot reflexology; your tired tootsies will thank you! If you are a runner or just on your feet all day, there is nothing like a soothing foot massage to cure your ills, and they offer a wonderful service here. Their pedicure chairs are of premium quality, with an intense, rolling massage on your shoulders and back as your feet are made beautiful. And Choi and her husband Steve are always nice and very customer service oriented, offering to get you a coffee from Starbucks while you are getting a beauty treatment. Warning - you will regret deciding to have your nails done here. If I could give zero stars, I would. Terrible experience from beginning to end. I called for an appointment for a powder manicure. I called asking for an appointment around 2:30 but was told to come at 3 and to not be late. I couldn't understand why I was asked to wait, there were barely any customers in there when I got there and no one entered the salon after me in the two hours I was there. The woman who started on my manicure ripped my nail off. I have very long, natural nails that I powder dip every 3-4 weeks. I was told it ripped because they're long and thin. While a fair statement, they haven't broke in the last year and a half that I've been doing dip, they're quite strong. They ended up switching the technician to do a silk wrap to fix the nail. She painted the nails way too thick and didn't bother to file them down after ward. They look bad and unnatural. It was what it was, I just wanted to get the heck out of there since it took them two hours... When I checked out I was charged $65, they charge $10 to remove your polish! I can understand charging $10 if you're simply removing your manicure, but that wasn't the case here. I tipped the woman, because it's not my way to stiff people who work off of tips but I wish I hadn't. Here we are not even two weeks later and one of my nails is already lifting up! I've been getting my nails done long enough to know what to expect. And for the money, this place doesn't produce the results for the price they charge. This place is close to home so my daughter and I decided to give it a try. I made appointments for us together and when we arrived only one pedicure chair was open so my daughter sat immediately. The man who greeted us as we walked in, I assume the owner, was apologetic so after 10 minutes when a chair opened he rushed over to hastily clean it for me. I sat down and was very surprised when he started to do my pedicure! He didn't wear an apron like the other technicians and didn't use gloves either. One part of the treatment he sprayed something on my legs from a clear spray bottle that had Disinfectant written on the side. The technicians do not interact with the customers, and a Harry Potter movie played on the TV screen across from the chairs. I watched the technicians work and clean, and was disgusted. They rinsed the utensils in running water - no soap or cleanser and placed them, wet, in a drawer. The woman sitting next to me had a fungal infection on many of her toes and after the technician filed her nails she put the nail file back in with the rest of the files that they reuse. I understand why this place is so inexpensive - you get what you pay for. read more

I stand corrected about my last review. Once you try other nail salons in area, such as Adore Nails, directly down the block from Nail time, I realized what a huge difference there is in how much time the techs take to do a thorough job on nails. I have been back to Nail time many times, as recently as yesterday with my daughters, and received excellent service. There is no waiting, if you make an appointment, and we were warmly greeted, and my girls and I left extremely satisfied. Kay, and Yune are some of the best technicians I have ever been to. And I have visited high end salons who charge double what Nail time charges, only to feel like I completely wasted my money. Will be a customer for life at this quaint little shop, because you get great service, and your manicures/pedicures last WEEKS. You can't find another place like it. I'm so sad to report, but this clean and cute little establishment is truly one of the worst pedicures, and mani polish changes I have ever had. No leg or foot massage, chunky and uneven polish application and zero enthusiasm for the work being applied. I went home immediately and removed the polish from both my toes and hands. $50 + tip down the drain... Unfortunately, I won't be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone. :( read more

I live in town and have been going to another local place until one day I couldn't get in to the usual spot, I decided to try nail time again( I had been a few years ago) I was very pleased by the atmosphere, cleanliness and just how nice everyone was there ! It's not the most updated but it's really all about the manicure ! They have a huge selection of polish, 7 days mani polish etc . I will be back there ! Had my first no chip manicure done here a week and a half ago and it still looks awesome! My nails have a hard time growing long as they are dry and brittle from the winter and tend to peel and break. I asked them if I should try a no chip gel manicure or a dip manicure, both of which I had never tried before. The owners are friendly and are always there to greet you at the door. The staff take the time necessary to do the job right. My regular manicure has lasted up to two weeks on many occasions. They also add a quick shoulder massage at the end which I love and have water/ hot tea which they will happily give if asked for. I recommend no-chip and regular manicures here! read more

**New ownership** I am so impressed with this place! This was my first visit to Nail Time, so I am not sure what has changed with the new ownership. But, it is certainly great now! I did not have an appointment, but walked in at 5 pm on a Monday for a pedicure and was taken immediately. The place is sparkling clean and neat. Even the wall of nail polish colors are perfectly organized by color and shade! My technician was friendly and she did a great job. I definitely felt like she gave me plenty of attention and took care during each step of the pedicure. The service included all of the steps I expected--scrub, lotions, massage, etc.--and even some extras that I didn't expect, like paraffin wax for your heels and a back massage while your nails dry (if you want it). It felt like a luxurious service but at a very reasonable price ($30 for pedi only). It seems like the old owners had mixed reviews, but the new owners are definitely doing it right! It exceeded my expectations for a neighborhood nail salon, and I will be back for sure. read more

Since the new ownership, Nail Time is terrific. I get my nails done all around the country but this is by far my favorite place. They do lots of nice added extras which have spoiled me for other places. Their standard pedi comes with a scrub and paraffin wax on the heels. Shellac manicures include special collagen gloves that condition the skin, and more importantly protect the skin from harmful UV. Their prices are really reasonable, service is always friendly, everyone speaks very proficient English and the end result is truly beautiful and professional. Staff was friendly, however, my "no chip" gel manicure lasted 1 day without chipping. By day 3, the nail polish had flaked off of 6 nails. By day 4, polish on every finger was either chipped or flaking off. I'd expect better quality for a $30-$40 manicure. I won't be returning. read more

Normally I don't worry about reviewing a bad experience, but this was just terrible. Decided to swing by as I really needed an eyebrow wax. I might add that I was the only customer during this whole experience, which you may have thought led to excellent service, but nope. First- the wax was REALLY hot. Also, she got some on my eyelid that she just ripped off. I seriously thought it must it must be bleeding as she keep dabbing it with a paper towel. A few quick tweezes and then she was "done." I made the mistake of having decided to do a pedicure while I was there. Once I was in the chair, I discovered a HUGE chunk of wax that had gotten into the front of my hair. I tried with a paper towel to get it out (which BTW the pedicure girl didn't even notice). After asking if she had a remover, she replied "scissors" and got some for me. She kept just saying "Oh my God". I had to cut a decent chuck of hair off just to remove the wax because it was pulling my hairs in a painful way. The pedicure was super quick. Very little pressure or work on smoothing- pumicing out my heels, which is the primary reason I get a pedicure. Finally the wax lady got off the phone in the back, and the pedicure lady informed her about the wax. She just said "sorry" and took the scissors back. After pedicure was finished, she just got up and started sweeping and closing. I asked if I should go sit under the drying table, but she said no... just sit at the pedicure station. After that she proceeded to sweep (which was evidently very needed by the amount of dirt on the floor) and clean up to close. This was about a hour before their posted closing hours and made me feel very uncomfortable and in the way. After waiting a full 20 mins I asked if I should be go to go.... she came to look and said no, it's still wet. I asked how much longer and she replied that she had done 3-4 coats, so it was thick and it would take an hour. SERIOUSLY!! AN HOUR! Who sits for an hour. I asked if she had any quick dry stuff. She brought over a little and rubbed it on, and then insisted I wear the foam flip flops. I live in Chicago, it was freezing, slushy and rainy outside. She seemed to think this was fine to send me out without my shoes. Once I was in my car I let them sit another 10 mins, trying to use my car heater to dry. Finally I had to put on my shoes as I had errands to do. Got home, and the pedicure was TOTALLY wrecked. Disaster. Every toe. After over 35 mins of drying. Well, money down the drain, a haircut and frustration later, going to my homework next time instead of wandering in somewhere. Avoid this place like the plauge. read more

Absolutely awful. The only good thing about this place is that it's clean and pretty from the inside. I've never once had a good manicure here. I did dip the other day and it was such a thick and uneven application and I asked them to remove it. There was no offer to fix it, give me a refund, none of that. The owner even said "you usually pay for removal but not today". As if he would actually CHARGE me for removing a bad application. Again, the place is pretty from the inside but that's it. read more
