Luxurious sauna with a lot of amenities. They have treatment rooms where you can get private rooms for treatments. I did their massage as well as the facial. My treatments came with an hour or so of complimentary sauna access so I was able to enjoy them for two hours in between treatments. They have a snow room, many dry saunas, wet saunas, beautiful hammam style saunas, cold pool, jacuzzi, heated pools, clay room, salt rooms and even a restaurant. There's no lack of saunas and definitely something there for everyone. I had a good in person experience but my review is only two stars due to the horrendous customer service experience over the phone trying to book my appointment. They website allows you to schedule appointments online and I tried to book everything online but when I tried to check out there were no options to use gift card online. Called them and it was an outsourced call. They were happy to help but when they realized that I wanted to use a gift card they said that they can't process giftcard, even though it was a World Spa Giftcard. I asked them if they could just hold the appointments for me and I would go in early for the appointments and pay with my gift cards there on the day of, they said no. They said they cannot connect me with the spa either. What they can do is charge my credit card and when I go in for my appointment, the spa could then POTENTIALLY reimburse me for the credit card charge and use my gift cards instead. That sounded sketchy to me, first of all, potentially is not good enough. Also, what if I got there and they said they can only reimburse in form of store credit? No thanks. They kept insisting that it was their policy. I don't like businesses with sketchy policies. I told them that I didn't see this policy listed anywhere, they replied that they would be happy to send it to me and kept apologizing and asking me for how I wanted to pay. I told them that they had nothing to apologize for, if it is the policy and not their fault. I told them to email the policy to me, I wanted to read it before I proceed with anything. I said I was willing to wait on the line while they emailed it to me to confirm receipt. Then they said they can also have a case manager call me back because I was not happy. I said that's fine but to send me the policy so I could go through it first, I also said I would stay on the line while they emailed this to me to confirm receipt. They put me on hold for two seconds and promptly hung up. No direct number to the spa, no call back, no email of the policy, nothing. For a luxury spa, that sure is poor customer service and the practices seem really suspicious. The price is decent, you don't have to travel across statelines or Queens for a spa experience. The actual space for enjoying the various rooms is limited to one floor unless you become a $5k/year VIP member and you get to access the additional floor. I don't think many people would want to drop that kind of dough for a spa that's trying to present itself as a competitor to the likes of Sojo Spa across the river. The jets in the pool didn't work. There were two life guards that said that's just how they were and whatever power it was exhibiting was as good as it gets. Then an older fellow that worked in the establishment tried turning on the valves since he saw us looking disappointed, and it didn't make any difference. Our dismay continued as one of the hot tubs were lukewarm and had low-powered jets as well. No one wants to sit in a tepid temperature puddle of shared water! Dining was another bad experience. We got a whole table full of plates so we thought the bowl of edamame was complimentary. It was not our fault that the employee gave us a dish we didn't order, so you can imagine how maddening it was when another staff member came by to charge us the edamame. We ordered quite a bit of dishes so we're not exactly frugal, but this certainly left us believing this business did not know how to run it well. If I was the manager, I would not force a customer to pay for something they didn't order, ever. When I brought this up to the cashier's attention when departing, the only thing comment she had said was, "Well, you paid for it." Honestly, you could have refunded the money right there but now you just cemented the awful judgement of the spa. Since everything is ordered/operated by your spa wristband, upon checkout I noticed there were 2 charges for spa slippers added to my wristband despite my party: 1) bringing our OWN slippers to avoid buying the expensive ones there and 2) NEVER tapping my spa wristband for any purchases since my partner used his for all food/beverages. When confronting the front desk staff about the charges, they insisted we brought slippers (despite us not purchasing anything upon check-in) and although they did not charge us while we were still at the facility, they still charged our cards about 20-30mins after we left. If you decide to go, you will definitely enjoy swimming in the pool and sitting in some of the saunas. Unfortunately, it will likely be crowded (so thus not really relaxing) AND you might get charged for things you never bought! read more

This is not about the facility, but instead the "customer service". Good luck trying to ever get in touch with someone who actually works at the facility. We live in Dallas, Texas and mistakenly booked for this spa. We booked 10am appointments and arrived at the spa in Dallas that we thought we made appointments at around 9:30am only to realize our mistake. We called World Spa 9:45am (Dallas time) only to be told that we missed our appointment and are considered a no call no show since it's an hour ahead in New York and we will not be refunded. Not only that, but we are somehow looped into a reoccurring payment. I understand this is an accident made by us, but have some empathy and understand accidents happen. Your business model is corrupt and I'm sorry for anyone else who has been scammed by his deplorable company. Decided to try this spa out for my boyfriend's birthday. We came on a Monday in January and got there around Noon. I highly suggest bringing your own slippers but the facility is barefoot. We were very happy that they offer valet parking as street parking is quite difficult in this area. The venue is gorgeous and spacious. We found the treatment prices to be quite pricey so we only did the day pass. Despite this we really enjoyed. There is enough to do that we didn't miss the treatment. The different rooms are on the smaller side, with a few larger saunas. The pools and jacuzzis were nice. I could see this place being far too crowded on a weekend though. The food and drinks were mostly good. The calamari was very meh. But everything else was tasty. I would back on a weekday only. read more

Having visited many of the day spas in NYC I was excited to see a new one in Brooklyn. World spa is really lovely with updated features. I often saw staff checking in and cleaning and the larger pools do have lifeguards. At entry your provided with a robe and towels. You can replace towels as you need to throughout your time. The locker rooms have showers, lockers, bathrooms and some amenities. The spa floor has a few large pools. These didn't seem to be reflective of the posted temperatures but they were clean. I had wished there were some strong jets in these. There was a Japanese style area with two hot pools and a cold tub. There are two steam rooms and boy are they steaming. There's several saunas and banyas as well. Each with their own unique style and fragrance. There are plenty of showers and water stations in between to help you cool down or wash off. There's also an ice bath and a cold room with active snow machines. We didn't eat at the restaurants but the private seating areas were cute. I went on a Friday night and it wasn't packed but you could tell there were plenty of couples and partiers. I was surprised at the number of people who were on their phones taking photos. I parked on the street with street parking with no serious issues. The location is close to the train as well. The front door also has security. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disappointment. Facilities: The hot tubs are lukewarm at best, offering none of the soothing heat you'd expect. The saunas, which should provide distinctive and rejuvenating experiences, are all nearly identical and unimpressive. Food: The restaurant's food is equivalent to a cheap diner in both quality and presentation--not what you'd expect for the price or atmosphere they aim to portray. Customer Service: The worst part of my visit was the customer service. My friend and I booked the same massage, called "Cabana 50" (a terrible choice--don't pick it if you value privacy). At checkout, the cashier claimed one of us had "upgraded" to a deep tissue massage, resulting in a higher charge. This so-called "upgrade" was simply the massage therapist, asking if my friend wanted more pressure during the session. At no point was there an explanation about an upgrade or additional costs. This shady tactic felt like an intentional rip-off! Thankfully, we resisted and avoided paying the additional charge after pointing out that no proper explanation of this "upgrade" was provided during the service. Misuse of "Onsen": To make matters worse, calling their lukewarm saltwater pools "onsens" is both misleading and culturally insensitive. In Japan, an onsen refers to a bath that uses naturally sourced mineral-rich hot spring water, which must meet strict criteria under Japanese Onsen Law (such as a minimum temperature of 25°C or specific mineral content). The pools at World Spa are nothing like authentic onsens--they're just simple saltwater pools with controlled temperatures. Not only did this feel misleading, but as someone who grew up with an onsen heritage--my grandfather owned an onsen and I took onsen every day--I found the use of the term "onsen" to be personally insulting. True onsens are deeply tied to Japanese history, spirituality, and wellness. This misrepresentation diminishes the cultural and traditional value of authentic onsens. World Spa should label their pools as "Japanese-inspired baths" or "saltwater relaxation pools" instead. This is a perfect example of NOT getting what you pay for. The space is aesthetically beautiful at first glance, that impression quickly fades when you look closer. The "day" pass price is excessive for 4hrs (you can stay all day but it costs more) and you get charged if you do not check out on time -even if its by 10mins) so you can't actually get a full 4hrs. ridiculous. The rooms are entirely way to small for the number of guests allowed. When we arrived people were huddle around outside each room waiting for space to get into the room despite being told it was a "low traffic" day. We had to wait on all but 2 of the rooms. When you are paying for 4hrs and spend over 1hr collectively of waiting and not to mention you have to be out right on the dot or you will be charged. It felt like we were racing against the clock to get our "money's worth" instead of flowing through at a relaxed SPA pace. We also added massages to our experience and the lady at the front ensured us we wont be charged for "staying over" - we still did even though it was literally 12mins "over" ($26). The cost of the massages were also excessive for the experience - you are paying 4star hotel spa rates without the 4star amenities. They don't even offer slippers (yes the website says brings slippers but for the cost they should be providing them.) The waiting area is entirely too small, only 3 people can sit comfortably while waiting for their service. They have a long wooden bench along the wall for "over flow" again the cost does not reflect the experience. I have been to less nicer (& cheaper "day" rates) establishments and they offered slippers (and a glass of champagne upon arrival). You can purchase slippers for $10. or you can go barefoot "our floors are sanitized throughout the day". I'm sorry but HOW is your floor sanitized when you have staff walking around in their street shoes and EVERYONE is wearing their own shoes (like crocs and flip flops) that they for sure are also wore outside all summer long. And never once in the 4hrs we were there did we see anyone doing said sanitization. Sure there was staff that came around with a dry mop to keep the floors as dry as possible to avoid people slipping and falling but definitely nothing was being sanitized. The no phone policy (no pictures, no calls) was not enforced by staff. I saw 2 groups doing video chats and they turning their phone around to show the person on the otherside the space. I do have to say i was pleasantly surprised at the dining experience in the sense that the cost of the food complimented the quality and taste of the food. This is one area where you actually got what you paid for. we had mini burgers w/fries ($20) and it was your average burger. very lack-luster but at the price point i was ok with it. You have to pay for water- fine but we asked for tap/filtered water and the server said they don't offer that but we can go to one of the water fountains to get water. Overall, the experience felt overpriced, overcrowded and poorly managed. For the cost, basic amenities, clearer policies and better crowd control should be standard. Unfortunately, the customer service was very underwhelming. The main justification for a $300, 50-minute facial is access to World Spa's hot and cold therapy. Since hot and cold therapy isn't recommended after a facial and I wasn't allowed to use the spa beforehand, I asked whether the one-hour hot and cold therapy could be scheduled for a different time. The answer was no. Allowing guests who pay for the full experience to redeem that portion later would have been a reasonable and courteous solution, but instead the staff were inflexible. Let me start out with the fact that I really love this facility and this was my third visit. I went on Memorial Day, excited to share this fantastic spot with my boyfriend. I'd been before and the amenities are sooo clean! Not to mention the whole place is beautifully decorated. They have wonderful saunas, steam rooms, and hot/cold plunge areas. It's really relaxing and I genuinely love the experience of the space. That being said - the cafeteria is a freaking nightmare. Imagine; you're all zen, peaceful and ready to have a meal. You're in a bathrobe and barefoot and you just want lunch. My boyfriend and I are sitting, after having to specifically find an employee and ask them to help because nobody tried to seat us for a few minutes. We order - we wait. His meal comes. Mine doesn't. We wait more. I tell him he may as well go ahead and start. He's eating, I'm still waiting. No one ever brought water or anything over so I'm literally just sitting there watching my boyfriend eat. I sat there for several more minutes until I finally flagged down a server. She basically stared at me and said "you ordered an entree. Those come out later." I didn't really understand, so I explained my boyfriend ordered his food, and I was still waiting for mine, and despite it being an entree we didn't order apps or anything so could I have it sent out now? She again just stares at me and said something like "Well that's how it works but I'll see what I can do." Comes back and tells me kitchen said five more minutes. At this point I'm pretty hungry and annoyed. Ten minutes later my food comes out. Not only was I waiting like 20 minutes longer than the other person in my party, so much time had passed he was entirely finished with his food. The server 100% had a weird attitude and honestly was pretty rude about the whole thing. Just not the vibe. This is an expensive high end place. We payed a lot of money to be here for the day and I'm not trying to get run around by some cafeteria workers who don't give a shit. They also auto add 20% gratuity. Ballsy. ALSO - can y'all figure out the cell phone policy??? There are signs *everywhere* stating no phones. During my last visit: 1.) Someone's phone went off in the silent relaxation room. Twice. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE -- HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE If I could give zero stars, I would. I came here on Memorial Day (May 26, 2025) for what was supposed to be a relaxing 80-minute couples massage. Instead, I left feeling violated, embarrassed, and furious -- and to make things worse, management refused to offer any refund or accountability. The massage therapist was completely unqualified. Her technique was sloppy and inconsistent, she scratched me with her nails (yes, scratched me), and used barely any oil, making the massage not just uncomfortable, but physically painful. I had to stop the session mid-way just to point this out -- and even then,nothing changed. It gets worse: I was so uncomfortable I ended the session early. When I asked for my robe, the therapist just stood there, ignoring me. I had to get up partially exposed to get it myself. It was humiliating, completely unprofessional, and borderline violating. I sent a formal complaint to management, who clearly couldn't care less. No apology, no real concern for what happened, and no refund. On Sunday, August 20, 2023, I went to World Spa with my family for my 32nd Birthday. They give you a waterproof bracelet for your locker and to buy things. The changing room was clean and organized. The lock was effortless to use but did not have a lot of space to move. After changing to our white robs, we get our full body massage. I love how everything looks very calm and relaxed. I got a body massage from Tommy, who makes me feel safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend him for a masseuse. Then we went to the 2nd floor to where the saunas and pool are. My favorite sauna was between the snow room and the pink salt. Most of all, I love being in the pool. I love the water. It was clean and refreshing, and the lifeguard was very informative and friendly. Overall, I give 4 out of 5 stars. Facilities were clean. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The place is expensive, but you really get your money worth your time. Also, Pro Tip: You must watch your time at the facilities because they will charge extra if you stay over your time. As someone who visits spas frequently around the world, I had high hopes for World Spa. The space is clean, modern, and the general staff is friendly--but my experience with their service execution and the way management handled a clear error left me extremely disappointed and feeling taken advantage of. I booked three treatments: a massage, a slimming seaweed wrap, and their most expensive facial--the Procell Therapy with stem cell serum. The esthetician performed the facial without explaining any steps, and afterward I realized no microchanneling had been done. Instead, I had received a Hydrofacial--a completely different service, priced $300 less. While waiting for my next treatment, I double-checked my confirmation and brought the issue to the front desk. I clearly explained that I had booked the Procell facial and was familiar with the treatment. After my wrap, a different receptionist confirmed that the Procell machine hadn't been charged, so the esthetician performed the Hydrofacial instead--without telling me. I was given two options: a full refund for the facial, or I could pay for their least expensive facial (which is actually $100 less than the Hydrofacial I was given) and return at a later date for the correct Procell facial free of charge. I made sure to clarify the offer before agreeing to return for the correct service. The seaweed wrap was also disappointing. While the technician was kind and professional, the treatment itself felt thrown together. Unlike every other wrap I've experienced--where each part of the body is individually wrapped and heat or infrared therapy is used to promote detox--I was placed on a disposable foil sheet, covered in an unidentified lotion that didn't resemble seaweed, loosely wrapped in another foil layer with a blanket on top. I barely broke a sweat. It was uncomfortable, ineffective, and awkward to rinse off in a small corner shower. This treatment felt like an afterthought, not a real body wrap. The massage was excellent--no complaints there. I'd rate it a solid 8/10. The most frustrating moment came at checkout. Despite what I was told earlier, I was now asked to pay the full price for the Hydrofacial I received, and was told my original payment would instead go toward next week's facial. I questioned why I would be paying full price for two facials when it was their mistake and that was not what I had agreed to. The staff member I had spoken to was no longer there, and the treatment center manager--who stood 10 feet away--never once came to speak to me directly. Instead, staff were sent back and forth relaying her messages. I was ultimately told I could either pay for both facials or accept a refund for the one I never received. There was no accountability, no ownership, and no effort to resolve the situation face-to-face. What's most frustrating is that I had to catch the error myself. Had I not been familiar with the treatment, I would have unknowingly overpaid by $300. While the facilities are beautiful and the general staff is welcoming, the services are not what they're marketed to be, and the way management handled the situation was unacceptable. The front desk staff, wait staff, cleaning staff are all sweet and personable. The rooms are gimmicky and instagrammable, very luxe. Large variety of temperatures and humidities. Pool area is huge, you could very easily swim in the heated pool. That being said, the jets are not as strong in the jacuzzi area. The best ones are at sojo spa which offers a nice city view. World spa is under a train station, so what can you expect? The food is great! I would skip the pelmeni because you can get cheaper/better tasting ones at an actual Russian restaurant. The chicken/mushroom ones were under salted. The tuna and poke bowls are the way to go here. The bluefin tuna roll was incredibly fresh. We also had a poke bowl which left me feeling satisfied, there was a healthy amount of toppings and sauce which I felt was worth the $20 price tag. Their signature cocktails are worth getting. I loved my peach whiskey drink, and my boyfriend loved his spicy mezcal drink. I am knocking down 1.5 stars for the ordering system alone. We experienced so many glitches trying to order that I ended up having to flag down a human who would just take our order manually. They also forgot our food for 40 minutes until we specifically asked for it. It seems like this place is still working out some kinks, but I'll come here once a year. read more

We just came here earlier today and I really don't understand the poor reviews! I was a bit skeptical but wanted to try it out. Went with my fiancé and we loved it here. Firstly, the staff that checked us in were very welcoming and efficient. Secondly, and most importantly, the spa itself was immaculately clean. Everything is new and sparkling. Beautiful ambiance. We even had food, which was good. I enjoyed the pools and saunas. The only complaint I have is that there weren't jet massagers in the main pool like how they have at Sojo and other similar spas. It's really pretty and the baths are very nice and clean. However, from a safety perspective, I do NOT recommend their treatments. I did the "World Spa Oasis 45" body scrub. I was told to lay fae down on a rock slab with no comfort for my head and during the session, the therapist applied excessive pressure, and shortly after, I began feeling intense discomfort. By the next morning, I was experiencing sharp, stabbing pain in my back and between my shoulder blades whenever I took a deep breath. I had to make an emergency appointment with my chiropractor, who confirmed that one of my ribs had shifted due to the pressure during the treatment. It was extremely traumatizing and so so painful for over a week. Could have been even worse if I didn't seek emergency chiropractic care. Management would not honor a refund. Exorbitant prices for a less than impressive experience. During my visit to World Spa with 4 other girlfriends, they had a power outage that lasted a minimum 15 minutes. During this outage, half of my friends were in the shower. Having a power outage in an environment like a spa is not only far from relaxing, but extremely dangerous. When we checked out, nobody apologized for the inconvenience. I asked one of the managers if I could speak with someone about receiving even a partial refund for the experience, and she asked me to leave my name, number, and email so someone could reach out. It's been over two weeks and nobody has reached out. I emailed World Spa and someone initially got back to me and asked for more details, but since then, radio silence. For a spa that promises the most high end experience, this quality of customer service is embarrassing and disappointing. I can't recommend World Spa at all. read more

This spa is superb. They have a really good deal on the weekdays where you can attend the spa all day for one set price. We were able to find parking on the street which were for 2 hours each but end up going with the valet which was a reasonable $15. After checking in we got changed into our robes and swimsuits, and headed to the second floor which contains all the saunas and pools. Be sure to bring a bathing suit, flip-flops, and your water bottle. All the pools felt so warm and relaxing. They had multiple saunas which range from 100° temperature to 200°. Many of them contain different aromas, which you could feel as it relaxes you. The food there also was not bad. I would recommend a Poké ball which really fills you up. My favorite sauna would be the Himalayan pink salt one since you had the ability to lay down in there. I will definitely make another trip here! read more

I'll just start off by saying you will definitely get a unique spa experience here. World spa offers many amazing amenities, each area whether it be a sauna, pool, jacuzzi, onsen tubs, cold showers, or ice room offers a spa experience like no other. My favorite rooms in the spa had to be obviously the most anticipated room they offer which is the snow or ice room it was so much fun, especially for my sister and I whom are Cali girls and have never experienced snow! However the Himalayan salt room had to be the most relaxing spot in the entire place. Super comfy lounge chairs, soft music, no talking, and sound therapy with the use of Tibetan singing bowls. I also want to take the time to mention that the staff is amazing and really passionate about their jobs. It is really refreshing as well to see so many young black adults working here at a beautiful spa in the heart of Brooklyn. Although the amenities are very unique and amazing I did have a few cons. For one the onsen, cold, and jacuzzi pools were noticeably dirty. You could see stuff floating in the waters and in my opinion is pretty gross due to the fact all of those are smaller bodies of water. Secondly the layout is a bit wacky, with the food area right in the middle of the amenities it makes it harder to have a quiet and peaceful spa day. Even though I had to give World Spa 4 stars today these small issues could be changed to make it an epic 5 star experience. read more

I visited World Spa with my bestie for a relaxation massage. We're regulars at SoJo Spa, so we were excited to try something new--but unfortunately, the overall experience didn't quite measure up. While the space itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, there were several disappointing aspects. First, the spa does not validate parking at the lot right next door, which added unnecessary hassle right off the bat. Then, at the front desk, the staff struggled to process our gift certificate, and their online system wouldn't allow it to be applied to our total. It took longer than it should have to sort things out, and it felt disorganized. The massage was good, but the masseuse didn't communicate what she was doing throughout the session, which made the experience feel a bit disconnected. Compared to SoJo--where the service is seamless, World Spa has some work to do in delivering a smoother, more customer-friendly experience. read more

My friends and I decided to make the drive out to Brooklyn to check out this new spa and it was a pretty good time. However, I think there's still a number of operational issues that need to be addressed. Given they were only open for a couple of weeks now, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. One factor I think that could help them out a lot is reducing the amount of people for each hour that they let in. Everyone is supposed to have their own lockers but it seemed they overbooked and many were left without. Additionally, they need to double check the plumbing because the showers in the locker room were clogged and shower water was covering the floor which was pretty gross. There's a good amount of saunas to check out which was great but a couple of them had some broken features like the infrared sauna. They had a snow room which was pretty cool to go into right after the sauna. There's also a ice plunge pool but I'm too chicken for that haha. I do like the set up of the restaurant lounge because it gives a resort like feel since it's in the middle of all the pools and saunas. We had a few drinks and apps there and they were really good. I highly recommend the caviar dip! Overall it was a nice experience. read more

Very nice and clean spa. Came here twice and both times were great. It is extremely pricey though. You can purchase a pass to walk around and experience all the rooms or you can go for go for a service and get one hour added. At certain times they will have someone running a "class" to promote what they have to offer. I must say it is pretty cool to experience. The spa is very accommodating and everyone there is friendly. There are pools, saunas, steam room, ice room and the pool plunge. They also have a dining area. Everything is charged to your bracelet that you get upon entering. Food was okay, but again very expensive. Locker rooms have your lockers, blow dryer, shower, towels, and bathing suit dryer. Very well kept. Overall it was a nice outing both times I went. Even though it's pricey you at least have to try it once! read more

Save your money. It's opening week so we expected them to be fully operational and putting their best foot forward. There are 3 floors but the first floor is locker room and the second floor is where the sauna and pools are. The third floor is closed off for "members only" so the entire experience is restricted to ONE floor which mainly consisted of dining area. All the cabanas were roped off in the dining area. Where are the guests supposed to sit and relax? On the amenities, the place was pretty clean given it just opened. There was no hot tub or jacuzzi or even hot bath. The temperature of the Japanese onsen pools is either wrong or intentionally misleading: the water is Much colder than what is shown. The so-cold "hot baths" are lukewarm at best. There were no cutips, razors, lotion etc. it wasn't giving luxury Too much unnecessary staff walking around mopping up the wet foods (security life guards walking around with outdoor shoes on the wet ground). The floors on the entire floor were constantly wet because people were coming in from the pool area. Not even a water dispenser, only water fountain. Not really a luxury experience. They charge $12.99 for sandals which is jarring because I've never been to a spa That didn't provide sandals. Relaxation room has club music, so forget about taking a nap or reading your book in peace. There is no lounge area. Don't know how we would spend the full 4 hours on this one floor. Do not go here!!! My cousins and I booked a spa day here to celebrate a birthday. The day we were supposed to go I woke up with covid. We called and were able to reschedule our day pass. One of the girls was booked for a facial which they refused to reschedule due to their "policy" unless she paid an extra $50 on top of the $190 that she already paid for the facial. Of course she didn't want to do that. So we arrived for our rescheduled day pass and they told her she was "black listed" and refused her entry, even though I already paid for her $120 entry. After fighting with the "manager" for ONE HOUR, they finally let her in without her being able to have her facial that she already paid for. So we go and try to enjoy the day. The facilities were fine but overly crowded to really enjoy peacefully. Needles to say I and my family will never be returning. read more

This place is closer to 2.5 stars than 3. The general aesthetic and staff is courteous but leaves much to be desired. There are a decent amount of bath houses so I never felt like I couldn't go into one of them. However, there were a lot of towels left behind and seemingly no maintenance staff would go around to clear them, which left many spots unavailable if you didn't want to touch them yourself. The staff were diligent about keeping the floor dry though, so that is much welcomed for safety. The dining was alright. Definitely over priced but that is to be expected. The service was really slow, but I guess that burns up the 4 hour allowance. I think the thing that surprised me the most was there are no hydration stations so best to bring your own bottle. read more

It's a nice facility given the location... if you want to relax, though, get there as early as possible, I guess? IDK, when I think "spa day," I kind of want to escape the chaos and hustle of NYC. Perhaps it's my bad for thinking there's an escape without actually leaving the city, but for a Monday... I wish I could say I enjoyed this more than I did. I made the best of my experience before crowding, and Christina T was an absolute dream to have do my treatment. That said, this would be a 3 star review had she not been the pleasure that she is. Also, excellent locker room and tab procedure with the wristband so, I have to be fair as these as other things that boosted my 3-stars to 4. I had a 2:00pm treatment and booked a separate 9am admission to the spa rooms. I wanted to use the rooms first and end with treatment and I'm glad I chose that route (rooms got pretty crowded around 11:30am, so I had a late breakfast around 11:48 -- lunch is served at 12:45p -- to remove myself from the crowded rooms). Fellow introverts, if you're looking for something truly relaxing and quiet, and you can find off peak hours, this place might be perfect. Despite the "no phone use" signs, I was in the snow room with someone holding a phone conversation and I had a group of girlfriends planning their Saint Martin vacation aloud in the Turkish Hamam room so that definitely interrupted the quiet I expected to have, but such is life in the city.... Can't exactly fault the spa itself for this. One big no-no for me, though: my robe was taken TWICE. Maybe I'm a little over-protective, but I don't really wanna share robes (especially after sweating, etc.) with anyone; especially in a COVID world. I exited one room to find my robe taken (the others had cell phones in the pockets so I knew they weren't mine), found one of the staff who was kind enough to grab me another, went into the salt room, came out 15mins later to no robes on the hooks. So definitely keep your robe with you (instead of hanging them on the hooks outside the room) if you want your same robe-- but good luck with that in the saunas. In summary: the rooms (saunas and baths, etc.) are nice, check-in (though extremely long since I waited on line for 20mins, even with prebooked services) is thorough, lockers and robes are great, staff is helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was pretty mediocre (save for drinks which were good, but not quite as described on the menu???) but perhaps lunch is better. I'd only ever return if I figure out what the truly non-busy hours are. Personally, though, this wasn't really worth the money for me (save for Christina T who, again, was a joy). 3 stars overall for my experience. The first time I went when this space opened I was simply amazed. It's a beautiful space, beautiful lay out. The problem is the people. It's hard to be able to relax when people don't respect being quiet and enjoying the ambiance. When I do come, I come the earliest possible and usually a Monday or Tuesday. Don't waste your time coming in on a weekend unless you're with a group and won't mind rude people and noise. I wish the staff was better on enforcing the rules. read more

Bring your swim suit and shower shoes if you don't want to walk around barefoot, they supply all of the towels and robes. Excellent facilities. Clean and not overcrowded. There are banyas in Brooklyn that are $50 and this is not one of them; but I'd rather pay more to come here (less often) given that it's so much nicer. I don't have to worry here about staph infections or sexual harassment or a group dominating the place with a loud party. It's really nice that some of the rooms are marked as quiet zones, and people who are here to party are respectful of people who are here to relax. We loved all of the rooms, including the gimmicky snow room which seems silly until you actually go in there and then it's delightful. They really want you to pay extra to book the venik platza; no matter what you ask the concierge, she'll find a way to recommend it. Ha! Taking off one star because we ordered a vegetarian soup and a meat dish. They brought the meat dish, and didn't come back until my dining companion was done eating, at which point I asked about the soup. They had clearly forgotten my order. I waited 30 minutes for it. It was good soup, but it would have been better if it had come closer in time to the meat dish. And everyone makes mistakes, so I wasn't going to make a big deal of it, except that the only other couple seated in our section had a similar issue; the Russian speaking guy immediately got his pot of tea, and he was done drinking it by the time his Black female companion received her glass of wine. Come on! I'm not saying the server was racist or sexist, but I don't understand how a meat dish that had to be cooked was ready but a bowl of soup wasn't; nor do I understand how a glass of wine could take so much more time to prepare than pot of tea. So yeah, I definitely wouldn't order from the restaurant ever again. But the spa itself is great. read more
