World market is located in the Happy Valley Towne Center. I find it interesting to walk through the market, especially in the food area. Lots of imported foods that you wouldn't find at a typical grocery store. Free shared outdoor parking and Wi-Fi in many of the larger stores. read more

I would not recommend this World Market. Absolutely horrible customer service at this place. First off, cashier was sitting on her phone prior to us walking up and as soon as we walked up puts her phone away and is really awkward like if we interrupted something. Second, very rude when both the cashier Isabelle and her coworker are shooting looks at each other more than once when I decided to try a gift card that I had issues to work cause it was my first time using it. The team at this World Market was the definition of teamwork! I came in looking for a table I saw online but didn't see in the store, and everyone jumped in to help make it happen. Mary fielded our inquiry and was genuinely friendly while we waited for the manager's assistance. Ian looked up the items and helped us navigate how to use the 30% credit card offer for our entire purchase. Dilpreet was super attentive, walking us through signing up for the credit card and finishing the purchase. Diego was awesome helping us load the table into our sedan--when it didn't fit, he gladly helped open the box and rearrange the pieces so everything fit just right. And Debbie was the true orchestrator: she successfully juggled everything from guiding us through both the in-store and online parts of the purchase while also supporting her team as they assisted us and helping other customers at the same time. I was so glad to find this world market in happy Valley town center! There used to be one five minutes from my house, and it shut down ! I don't understand why there was always so many people in there but I guess more shops are coming in. This was a little bit out of my way, but I was so happy to be there and find so many of the items that I'm used to shopping for at the old store near my house. Customer service was very friendly and very accommodating. When I need to find a specific table linen I have been looking for online. Definitely recommend to come check it out ! read more

Extremely Disappointed and Disturbed by Experience This was one of the most upsetting experiences I've had in Happy Valley. The behavior from both the staff and upper management was not only rude but felt blatantly discriminatory. I'm deeply disappointed in how the situation was handled. when I offered to involve authorities to help de-escalate or resolve the issue, they refused. As I procrastinate doing homework I find it very necessary to mention an outstanding moment of customer service that occurred today at this location. I asked the employee Johnathan about an item. J took the time to walk me over to the aisle and search. THEN when it was not found, considered a few other options. When the item was still not found, J proceeded to look up item at other locations and found the next shipment date to this location. NO ONE DOES THIS. My husband always complains about the lack of customer service anymore. Can someone please put J on a pedestal for going above and beyond for trying to find my husband his weird flavored pork rinds. I overall have to agree with other reviewers. The chain is known for its eclectic merchandise albeit many of their items can be overpriced and of questionable craftsmanship or durability. This was the original Snack Crate. They have a decent selection of alcohol and tea but I adore their worldly selections of foods and candy. It's a great place to shop, especially around Christmas for stocking stuffer ideas, or to refill the candy bowl at work with odd commodities. read more

Hands down the best experience I've had at a World Market. I've been to other locations and employees are ok at best. This location not only was I greeted multiple times throughout the store one also offered to get me a basket because my hands were full. I declined because I knew I'd just buy more stuff lol. I had originally came in for coffee/tea syrups, but left with a new mug, treats and some decor. The store was very clean and organized. I loved the holiday sections. The cashier was great and took the time to wrap my breakable items. I wish it was closer to my home because I'd come here over the other one any day. read more

We only stopped by to kill some time. Lots of cool things to check out. Everyone was friendly and ready to help.

Recently my wife purchased a teagun desk that was still boxed up brand new. Get the desk home and we new that we had to assemble it. That was not the issue however as to our dismay there were scratches and gouges throughout the desk. We immediately called the store and send in proof and they came back and said we will give you 10%. After thinking of that offer which was nothing more then a slap in the face. They came back and said the best we can give you is 15%. Again a slap in the face. You would think that a new desk in a box would not have any scratches nor would you think this company would do the right thing instead of being insulting. Needless to say they have lost a long time loyal patron. So here is an update on our issue spoke to the store mgr today and he has agreed to make things right for us which is all we asked for to begin with. read more

My favorite place for wine! I come here a lot, but mostly for the wine. The store is cozy, and the staff is super helpful. Their wine guy here can tell you just about anything about every kind of wine. And, if you're a World Market Explorer member, you can get some sweet discounts too! So in love with cost plus for stationary, home decor, wine, kitchen gadgets, and non perishable international snacks. My go to for stocking stuffers and the only spot to find something for guys & gals alike. I visited this location for a change- I typically go to the one at camelback & 18th street. For coworker gifts I grabbed some mini-wines and single serve shortbread cookies. Vintage bottles sodas galore to throw in ice on Christmas Day that family will enjoy. I found a mug for my uncle as well as lobster pate for his stocking. I found gourmet wrapped soaps and a Christmas dish towel for my mom. While I was shopping an associate offered me help with finding anything. The line was fairly quick but I could tell the cashier seemed overwhelmed by the cart of goodies I had to check out. Granted her counter is tiny- Sorry for buying so much!!!! Seems like that should be a good thing?? Maybe Kim should have called a backup cashier when she saw my selections because a long line did form and she ended up showing her stress. read more

My wife and I love this place, particularly this location. They are always very helpful and friendly. We have bought some large items (chairs, rug) here and it has always been easy to get loaded into our car with their help. -- It's hard for us to go here and not at least buy a few things we "need." The prices are great and it also an easy please to find gifts for others. read more

This is a great store, I usually buy most of my home decorating items from this store. The prices are reasonable, the staff is stellar and the store is always clean. I very much enjoy the different varieties of foods that they have. Japanese soda to English cookies, this store has a nice selection of foods from around the globe. So world market has this bell promotion where they give money away for finding bells. My boyfriend and I go there all the time and spend a lot of money there and we are members. Us as well as other people have found the bells more than once and today the manager Theodore decided that he was going to enforce the rule( it's the small print that is covered up at the bottom of the promotion) NO ONE READS THAT! the bells are not always found and in fact today one bell was not found from this morning, we went today and I found a bell so we could shop for Christmas and took it up to the front to redeem, and Theodore said did you find one and I said yes and then very snooty went well I need to see your IS because your only allowed to win once per promotion. When I asked for the manager he said snobby in the manager and when I asked to talk to his manager he said there was no one to talk to. As far as I am concerned it should be a first come first serve and if you can't find it first that's tough shit, everybody was given the chance to find the one this morning but no one did so as far as I think, I should get the coupon, and the manager Theodore should be fired for wanting to enforce it because he is having a bad day or for what ever reason it may be , but Ita bot because of the fine print policy that no one even knows about, it will be my last time going there and screw that old man! read more

The store manager Joe as well as the associates Ava and Georgina went up and beyond as it relates to customer service. They took their time helping me decide what chairs to purchase with my table and checked other stores to see if they had extra ones if needed. The staff was so pleasant and helpful I couldn't be any more thankful. I just want to say thank you for helping me load up chairs and hold the other items I bought today. So other that the variety of great products (which we love), I have to give a shout out for their service. Every time we go in, they are so helpful and friendly. They are quick to give good suggestions for trying a new foreign meals, and they are happy to give real feedback of what other customers have said about various products. To top it off, they remember my little girl's name each time we go in, and are quick to tell her hi...which always brings a smile to my girl's face.
