Very happy with my first visit to World Market. I have been looking for a specific brand of Italian Giardiniera , for a meal I was planning. No one in Eugene carries it. I finally popped an email to the company who makes it, and they suggested World Market. So off I go... Yes... World Market had the item I was looking for. And a whole lot more. All sorts of delicious food items imported from all over the world (sausages, candies, pastas, sauces, soups, etc). A huge selection of hard to find specialty items. I also wandered through the store to look at other stuff, and they have a nice selection of things. Baskets, blankets and throws, furniture, paintings, all sorts of stuff people need. Service was wonderful too... very helpful Highly recommended! read more

They have an interesting assortment of foods, some of which you probably can't find somewhere else. However they do not take food stamps. Seems kind of discriminating to me to leave out such a large population of the community. read more

We went in today because we had decided to get a papasan chair...and we walked out with plan for our entire living room setup. A super special gratuitous shout out to our sales associate that helped us (Thank you Courtney!). She helped us immensely, and was super patient with our never ending questions . this store is so slept on. a true hidden gem w/ better products, better prices, better selection, and better convenience than any other mainstream big name store. i'm so glad i chose to abandon my plans of walking into a "nearby" store that i dreaded entering the entire drive over. i just couldn't stomach dealing w/ having to find stuff w/ no staff, while i wiggle & dodge my way through the aisles, being sure to hurry out of the way so others can have a go at the section i'm looking though, then regretting i hurried out of the way bc i actually did need to look closer at the items in that section. iiick. anyway maybe cost plus does get busy and i'm the one out of the loop but if it does get busy they also offer the convenience of drive up online pick ups which is dope bc of.. the state of the world.. though this is a store where exploring is truly a delight. oh yeah, staff is awesome. and if you check out the promo offers on their website, i bet you'll find a legit difference-making coupon for yourself the next time you pop in. read more

I have always enjoyed this store. It's one of those random junk stores, as I call them. It's sort of an eclectic mix of randomness. They have furniture, kitchen gadgets, wine, food, even birthday/holiday cards, candles, some bath products. It's like a grocery store and department store collided and this was the result. They have a pretty nice wine section, and I typically buy my gift wines here. I am a die-hard fan of certain wineries, so that's where I get mine, but if I need something for a party or present, this is where I come. The kitchen gadget section can be kind of fun and interesting to browse. I always check prices and other stores before buying, but you can find those really neat things that aren't a necessity in any way, but are useful. I have lots of those. Lol. I typically go here when I need one of those slightly random, quirky, but cool gifts for someone. It's my go-to for those. Customer service has always seemed a little stiff and never terribly exciting. I've never had a bad experience in that department, but they don't go above and beyond either. Will I return? Yep. It's a store I've been going to for years, and will definitely be returning to. read more

I was so happy to find World Market as we've enjoyed them elsewhere for years. Then we walked in the front door to be met with a mish mash of furniture and boxes and trash. This was so unexpected. Most WMs are so clean and tidy and organized. Is this one going out of business or is this just how it always looks? The employees were just fine but the store needs help. What can I say about the World Market? I do visit now and then and am always intrigued by the off beat, unusual, atmosphere very different from anything you would find in a regular department store. The World Market is a completely different culture to be experienced when you have plenty of time to browse the many different, interesting items that you might find in a market in Europe or the Middle East or even the Orient, places where the folks care about what they put on their shelves. Although at World Market I prefer to do my own thing at my own pace I find the employees very helpful, pleasant and eager to help out when I do have a question or need help in any way. Typically I don't like these kind of shops, but World Market is different than other importer type stores. I like the wide variety of teas and snacks. The sundry items like soaps, candles, kitchen supplies, and furniture are pretty vast as well. The shop is clean and well-organized, and they have lots of employees willing to help out customers. They have nice merchandise. I definitely suggest visiting World Market if you're in the Eugene area. read more

This is definitely the place to go to try to find a decent selection of international foods, furniture, kitchen ware, or just random gifts or junk. The price of the goods sold here varies wildly, however. The furniture is stupidly expensive, the food items are pretty inexpensive, the gifts and the kitchenware are somewhere in the middle. That being said, if you don't know what you're looking for, you're going to walk out with things you didn't know existed. Customer service out on the sales floor is always kind of meh, but nothing to complain about specifically and the customer service from the cashiers isn't too bad. read more

If I had an endless budget I would come back to this store and buy that $750 green velvet couch with the matching $40 pillows and $50 accent blanket. I would then proceed to fill my cart with artisan snacks and candies from all over the world. My point is that this place isn't cheap. If you are looking for that perfect glass terrarium for your succulents or that beautiful hand woven basket to put the finishing touches on your living room, then this place has a lot to choose from. I really loved looking around at everything and the quality was really nice when it came to the rugs, linens, decorations and most of the furniture. The place has more of a warehouse feel to it. If you go to the back of the aisles there are clearance items and even some snacks for 55% off. Score! They also have other things like dining tables and chairs, greeting cards, kitchen section, desks, wine and beer. It's worth coming in and taking a look if you have never been and the snack aisle is fun if you want to grab a couple things you've never tried before. This place is pretty fun, I've been going here for years even back in my days of living in Portland. They have some pretty competitive prices on kitchen stuff and lots of one of a kind things that you can't find elsewhere. The furniture they sell here is overpriced though. I had such a weird experience here, I have to share it. My review isn't on the merchandise, which is awesome, but on the customer service. I went in yesterday and found a rolling table that I really liked, and took the tag up to the gentleman working one of the registers so that I could keep shopping and nobody else would take the item. It was very cool, and a great deal. All is good, and I'm enjoying the store until I go to pay, and the woman who works the register next to the one I am at starts telling the man who is helping me check out that I can't buy the table because it's discontinued and they want to keep it to serve coffee on some sometimes. Ummmm, WHAT? You want to keep this one random table that's for sale in your store from being sold so that you can serve coffee on it? Are there not other tables that you could possibly procure to serve coffee that someone isn't trying to give you money for? And if so, don't put it out on the floor for sale! And may I mention, this is not even a coffee table. She is very rude, entirely unapologetic, and makes me wait at the register while she walks off talking on a phone and saying she's going to check if they need it for the coffee service. Ultimately she won't let the guy at my till sell the table to me and just walks off, no apology, no interest in customer service. If she had been at all apologetic I wouldn't still feel annoyed, but she wasn't. Basically, a really weird experience that makes me no longer want to give this store my business. The man at my my check-out was nice and apologetic, but it couldn't at all change the horrible way his coworker acted. read more

I wish I could say wonderful things about the customer service here, however, I'm not sure if it's because of the holiday season and the employees are stretched too thin, it's very evident that the staff is stressed out and it shows by how they lack in their service to the customers. When I asked a young lady for assistance on an area rug that was hanging up for display, I was looked at and literally ignored by her as she summoned the next customer to her register. I believe she could have called for another employee over the intercom to help and maybe a little dialogue to show respect would have been appropriate at this point. I visited on two different days thinking that it was a one-off "bad day" for their employees, but found that the rude employees are still behaving the same way no matter what day I went in. I asked a young man where I would find the coupons to receive the discounts on the store items and he responded, "you'll have to look around the store." Ok, I was expecting a little more assistance than that and the woman standing next to me voiced a "wow" because of his arrogance and said that would be the last time she would shop in there. I really love this store, but really don't like having to deal with no assistance. read more

We started coming here every so often, eventually getting a no obligation membership which eventually turned into a weekly ritual. I can spend (and have) hours in here browsing and shopping. We try to pick something unique each time we go, esp. from their food and drink selections. If you do the membership and shop there at least once a week, the rewards are amazing. I always have a coupon and rarely spend full price on any item. The staff remembers us and we always have a good time, even if things haven't changed from the last time we shopped here. You'll always find something new, they'll inspire you with the decor, and you'll discover great foods you might not have otherwise tried. Not to mention the alcohol. Wow! My husband had a terrible experience at Cost Plus recently. We had no idea that they will not let you return food items you buy that turn out to be stale. He bought a bag of cashews for around $7or $8. He opened them right away and said they were so stale he had to spit them out. About a week later he returned to the store and asked for his money back. The salesperson said, "we can't take this back because it has been opened." He said, of course, "how would I know they were stale if I hadn't opened them?" He was told it didn't matter, that they have a policy that they do not take back anything that has been opened. Then, he was SCOLDED for bringing an open bag of food into the store!! He was told to take it outside. The rules are that no food is allowed in the store! My husband is in his 50s, and is a well-known professional in Eugene. He is not usually treated this way. He was able to convince another sales associate to take the stale cashews back, but was only given store credit. This might be a nice place to buy candles or pillows, but know that you are taking a risk when you buy food items. We will never return. read more
