If you know, you know! It had been quite a minute since I needed to go to the unemployment office and genuinely most everything can be done with virtual appointments making it so you can focus on your job search. Unfortunately I did not get a paper showing a deadline until later than wanted. I went in just to be on the safe side and they were so kind, adding notes just in case. They also gave me some suggestions that were very helpful and references. They are a great resource if you lack tech at your home as well and are there to really try to help you find that new spot to land for employment. This location is extra convenient too since it is located at a bus and Max transit center. The grounds are well kept and the offices are newer so they make you feel like you will accomplish something just going in! read more

Cannot get ahold of anyone. I tried multiple times to get a sign on for Imatchskills and it kept kicking me out. I have now been on hold for over an hour and a half to try to speak to someone. I have tried for 2 days to get signed into Imatch. read more

Having been laid off I was forced to navigate the water of unemployment. The people here were all very friendly and helpful. There were many avenues of opportunity presented to me... way more than I thought. It was clean, bright and cheerful. The over 55 crowd was there brushing up on their computer skills and joking around with each other. Over all it was a very pleasant experience. read more

There is no part of the unemployment process that isn't humiliating and dehumanizing. The forms ask a bunch of questions that they already know the answers to, just to waste your time, and when you answer them incorrectly, they delay your benefits until you "correct" them. If you're unemployed, this will leave you in a very tight spot. The people who work here are humorless and grim, for the most part. Even the friendly ones are extremely patronizing, as if you're a toddler who wandered into the wrong room. Even if they were pleasant, it would do very little to take the edge off of the grim business of being unemployed. If this place were an actual business and not a government institution, they would be shuttered within a week. Sadly, you're unemployed and impoverished, so you have no choice but to put up with this whole miserable process. read more

This location is definitely A-OK! First time at this location. It is INSIDE of PCC campus and you will need to park in the lot, so be prepared to walk a little. Entered into a big lobby, straight ahead is the door leading us to Worksource. It's a long and narrow space, but jam packed! The information desk in desk was a nice lady directing people as needed, inside WS we were greeted by a friendly face, Ms Whitey,when we told her why were were there; to help my boyfriends son get his G.E.D. She smiled. I advised her we had about a half hour [that day] to concentrate on getting his resume printed and we could make an appointment to come back to speak to an actual employee for resource help, if we couldn't do it all today. She said, "No problem. Do you have your social security CARD?" I had looked (FOR DAYS ya'll!) on everything we'd need for this outing and it didn't say a card would be needed. *gulp* Well, I looked at him and his face clearly indicated, no. No, he did not have his social security card on him. Her tone changed and she asked if we, "could get it?" As he double checked his wallet, I looked at her, smiled, reminded her of our time constraint and that we wouldn't be able to come back same day, she looked at me, cocked her head to the side a little irritated, like, WE weren't prepared and I just politely smiled. He tends to freeze up in moments like these, so Ms Whitey just stared up at us, after long silence, I stepped in, asked if he really NEEDED the physical copy or just the number? She said just the number. um??! *FACEPALM* It was then my happy, love everyone, compassionate self kinda left PCC &I looked at Ms Whitey & in a flat tone said, "Well. We have his number, so since no card is needed in person.Yes. Yes we have his social security NUMBER." She just looked displeased. I don't know what it was, but I knew it wasn't us. I didn't take it personally, my buddy and I went & sat down in the computer area to work on our resumes. She must have been having a bad day. I've been there. Like public schools 2002 called & want their keyboards back. Old skool keys that stick, 'clack clack clack' as the people type away. It was difficult to work on my keyboard, I switched and eh, pretty much the same. Be prepared for older pc's or a few extra minutes, just getting set up and used to the equipment. They have people walking around and very eager to help! Do not be afraid to ask for help or any questions!!! :D I'm not complaining, more poking fun, bc these centers are a lifesaver for the community. From when my printer broke & I needed a print out for a VERY important 6am work meeting, to when I lost my job and needed employment and resume help, Worksource was there, with NO COST & offered great advice w resource information. This is where people are sent for unemployment benefits and services. There are classes held every month all month for interviewing tips, classes to learn EXCEL or other software programs and to help increase knowledge and employment potential. We finished our resumes, had about 10 mins, they called my buddy to meet with another lady, who's name I forgot. She invited me back with them and asked what he was there for (uh, thanks Ms Whitey?), then started to just focus on getting him a job. She had great info, but she didn't "hear" us at first. She offered resources on getting him a job without his diploma or GED. That was HELPFUL! However, she didn't look at his resume once or ask to see it. That was a let down, considering the hard work he just put into it. When I started to explain our time crunch, she interrupted, put her finger up to her mouth and told me to "Shhh" I realized Whitey didn't communicate anything to her about us, but RUDE!We were just wasting more time. like w the SS# I gave them 10 mins, finally had to be stern yet polite to tell her, she "was pushing apples and we are here for oranges. Can you please help us with oranges first? You didn't even ask to look at his resume or ask about him not having a diploma, I had too bring it up. We are pressed for time & I'm sorry Ms Whitey didn't tell you any of these things that we already discussed with her." She smiled and said, ''Sure.", then went right in getting him signed up for the orientation classes Worksource offers for the Intro to GED course at PCC and we had him on the list for the following day. However, after seeing that he tests so high and it's actual traditional classwork that his problems are in and why he's not graduating, she then advised the true first step was my buddy taking the GED practice test through the official website (ged .com), which is linked with the state and if the scores are good, there's no need for the PCC classes! So, his dad &I got the 4 practice tests for each section of the G.E.D test and that was helpful!
