Working with Kelsey Williams was one of the best decisions I made during my job search. From the outset, she took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for in my next role and what mattered most to me in a firm's culture and environment. Throughout the process, Kelsey's knowledge of the legal market and of individual firms proved invaluable. She ultimately connected me with a firm that truly aligned with my values and long-term career goals. Beyond the outstanding results, Kelsey is professional, intelligent, communicative, organized, thoroughly prepared, and a pleasure to work with at every stage. During our time working together, Kelsey refined my résumé, provided thoughtful insight and advice about the firms I was considering, coached me for interviews, and supported me through salary negotiations. What is often a stressful and overwhelming experience felt far more manageable with her guidance. Working with Kelsey has been one of the most impactful decisions I've made in pursuing my next role. For any attorney seeking their next position, Kelsey will be an excellent partner. She is a dedicated, strategic, and strong advocate who truly cares and offers thoughtful, practical guidance throughout the job search. I am profoundly grateful for the support she provided and recommend Kelsey with the utmost confidence. read more

Kelsey Williams at Boly:Welch played a critical role in my search for the perfect placement. I don't know what I would've done without her coaching and positioning me into a stellar career move. I am so grateful to have worked with her and it paid off big time! Highly recommend her if you're considering a new professional chapter. I can't thank her enough. read more

First time using a recruiter, coming off of a pretty terrible experience (job I signed up for was NOT the job I ended up doing, no support, no training). I was working with Kelsey, who LISTENED when I explained what I was looking for - collaborative, lateral structure, training and commitment to mentorship, and most of all CLIENTS TREATED AS HUMANS, not as paychecks. Within a day, she'd delivered a list of possibilities to me, helped me pare down my resume, and gave me guidance on how to move forward with my top choice. Three weeks of "job searching" and I've got an offer. It would've been ONE week if I'd just gone to Boly:Welch in the first place. 10/10, no notes. read more

I am an attorney with a decade of experience and I just worked with Kelsey Williams, a recruiter from this organization, to make a huge transition to a different area of law I have never worked in. Words cannot express how grateful I am for the wonderful assistance Kelsey provided to me. She knew what questions to ask me to figure out what kind of firms to refer me to, and she had a huge list of firms to refer me to. Crucially she helped me narrow in on firms that met my specific goals for firm culture. Kelsey also helped me rework my resume and then, once we had found some firms to focus on, she worked with me in one on one interview prep. She continued to support me through the process of actually getting an offer and the prepared me for salary negotiations. It's mind boggling to me that I had such a wonderful experience and benefitted so much from Kelsey's expertise, without paying her a cent. (She gets paid by the hiring firm, so she only gets paid if she successfully gets you hired somewhere.) The bottom line is that I had no idea that a job search could be so stress-free until I worked with Kelsey. read more

Highly recommend Boly:Welch and Kelsey Williams, who helped me transition into a new field of law in the Portland area. The whole process was very comfortable, and I felt I could open up with Kelsey about my concerns and we could strategize as to how my skills would transfer into other fields of law. Kelsey's communication was strong, and at several points during the process she would ask me how I felt about the process, even once I had received an offer letter. At no point did I feel pressure from her on different companies, and our communication was always very respectful. I did not also have to feel embarrassed asking "dumb questions" as a relatively new transplant to the region. While I am hopeful that I won't require any future services from Boly:Welch for a long time, I know that should I need assistance again, I would be reaching back out to Kelsey. read more

I had a great experience working with Boly Welch and Kelsey Williams! I told Kelsey I was interested in switching practice areas, explained to her what I do and don't like about my current practice area, and explained what I was looking for in a new position. Kelsey was able to identify numerous positions that interested me. She scheduled and helped me prepare for numerous interviews, but was also understanding when there were positions I determined I was no longer interested in. She was responsive and personable throughout the entire process, and it was clear that she knew what she was doing. Within a month and a half, I received an offer for a position that I am very excited about and checked all of my boxes! It was a pleasure working with Kelsey, and I can't recommend her enough. read more

I'm not sure where to start - I've never seen someone so passionate about the work they do other than Brittney R. She's excitable, resourceful, well connected within the legal community and all these add up to her being the best job matchmaker. I've known her 10+ years and she's always been honest about what the outlook is for legal work in the community as the job force changes (for better or worse). She really spends time trying to find the right employee for the right employer. I've enjoyed growing in my career as a paralegal while knowing her. Recently she connected me with a firm who is a perfect fit (for me and them!) Every voicemail I have from her starts out as "REY, I HAVE FABULOUS NEWS FOR YOU..." Brittney herself is fabulous and I could not recommend a better job matchmaker. read more

I had never worked with a recruiter before but Jen Lind made looking for a new job a positive experience. The process was smooth and easy and Jen was there with me the entire time. I ended up in a position that I wouldn't have necessarily considered (nor been aware of) was it not for her. The new job has been a great fit and I'm really happy my friend recommended reaching out to Boly:Welch! read more

In my experience as a lawyer, I've had plenty of discussions with recruiters. Most are dead end resume farming, and if you get them on a second call they hide the pertinent information about the job they think you should be excited to apply for. Enter Boly Welch and my recruiter, Kelsey Williams. I was looking to transition but kept my eyes on local opportunities (Midwest metro). One day, I get a call from Kelsey, asking if I'm 1) looking for a new opportunity and 2) open to a move to the Pacific Northwest. To my delight, she found me from something I marked years ago on my LinkedIn profile. I was completely unaware that I had that open still, but after a quick discussion with my partner, I listened to more about the opportunities. Yes, she had more than one, and she supplied me up from with the information needed to actually consider such a move. Within a week, I had two interviews. Within three weeks, I had an offer in hand and an offer to fly me out to the other firm for a final. Six weeks later, we were 2500 miles away in a new home with a new outlook. Most importantly, Kelsey listened, and that's how I met with two wonderful firms who both matched my desired balance and culture. She was responsive, provided guidance, and supported me throughout the process. We had frank conversations about both prospects, and she gave me her real opinion. I'm hoping to find a home at this new firm (I love it so far), but if I ever need a change or an opportunity arises, I won't hesitate to make Kelsey and Boly Welch my first call. read more

The Boly:Welch team is a fantastic group of folks to work with. If you're looking for new career opportunities, a chance to shift into a different field, or temp work of any kind, they will work hard to match you with meaningful opportunities and provide you with any support you need. Shout out to Jeske Paanakker, who worked really hard to match me with some great roles, and eventually a long-term contract position with a wonderful group of coworkers. She was always there to answer any questions I had while I worked with Boly - thank you Jeske! read more

I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance Boly:Welch has provided. Jeske and Jen were instrumental in finding my forever job. As I talk about my experience with my friends and family, I am constantly offering the opportunity to introduce them to this incredible team at Boly. I was very skeptical to work with a recruiter after a recent spate of no shows and scam cold calls. But I am glad I put my biases and experiences aside to take the time to speak with Kelsey Williams. She had the expertise and emotional intelligence to guide me in a new market. She helped me with polishing up my resume. When she helped me secure an interview she had insights into what their motivations were and how I could ensure I could express those same values in a genuine way. Every step of the way Mrs. Williams was respectful of my and her time. As an attorney who had not had the need to seek employment for some time it was a breath of fresh air to have her in my corner. I hope everyone approaches Body/Welch rather than go at it alone like I had for a number of months. read more

Boly:Welch was a great decision in a time that I needed some flexibility to find temporary work as I was unsure of the direction I was headed. I needed work to fill the gap until I could find a permanent position and thankfully with the help of my recruiter Jeske Paanakker they were able to set up some temporary work which in turn became a permanent position. Jeske was a pleasure to work with and her team really stepped up when I needed assistance. Thank you again! read more

It is tough to find a job right now and Boly:Welch made it a breeze. Job seekers don't have to pay anything and get matched with great companies doing great work. Jeske is extremely responsive and communicative, and made me feel listened-to through this process. Highly recommend, especially if you are feeling like you're in a professional rut at the moment. read more

Would never recommend this place!! Worst resource for job seekers I've contacted in Oregon!! Once all the multiple intro calls r done, crickets for weeks on end. NOTHING!! The job climate today is a beast ---there should be full transparency upfront on whether they are competent in finding REAL JOBS!! Don't wait until a candidate registers and then tell them you don't "handle" the type of work they r looking for......really!! useless and incompetent!!! I regret wasting my time to make contact!! Ugh read more

I'm really grateful to Boly:Welch, especially to Christina, because from the very beginning when we discussed what I was seeking she paid close attention to the details, my motivation, and my background. Unlike many recruitment agencies, she treated me uniquely by ensuring that every opportunity she presented resonated with my values and preferences rather than just my qualifications. Moreover, I always felt supported and guided throughout the interview and hiring procedures. Even after I started working, she continued to follow up to ensure that the job still matched what the employer had promised and that I remained satisfied with the change. Highly recommend them! read more

My recruiter, Jen was very helpful and friendly. She went above and beyond helping me revamp my outdated resume. She always checked in and followed up. And in the wake of a huge school district budget cut, I referred quite a few people to Boly Welch. Thank you Jen and thank you Boly Welch. read more

I had a good experience with Boly as far as being able to get a job was concerned - after all isn't that the main goal, to get a job? I think I had the right recruiter (she is no longer at Boly) who was pretty motivated to find me something, but ultimately I pivoted the job I was looking for (unknowingly) and ended up working with Roxanne. However, reading through the reviews are somewhat amusing because I think many of us shared the same experience. I went in for an interview for an administrative assistant job. This was not my wheelhouse and not what I wanted to do, but I was desperate to leave my last company. I took a day off of work (having lived/worked in Vancouver, it was necessary) and came to my meeting with Roxanne. We talked for a few minutes, and she flat out told me this isn't what I want to do, and they filled the position anyway. Uhhh? That was pretty uncool. Then by no coincidence at all she said there was a position available for my exact job experience that I had told them I no longer wanted to do (investment industry). She discussed the role and I told her how much I made now, knowing full well I'd take a small pay cut. However, she said I was asking for much and got me to agree on a certain amount. Later that night after discussing with my husband I realized she totally steamrolled me and told her that I'm not comfortable with that salary and I wanted Xk more a year. She was super frustrated because she said it didn't look good. I.E...I think it made her not look good, but that's the life of a recruiter. At the end of the day the job hired me and didn't blink twice at paying that much. Roxanne literally never spoke to me again, didn't follow up for congrats, etc. Don't get me wrong, Roxanne is good at her job. But, she is just A LOT. Other than my experience there, Boly was pretty communicative throughout the whole process. Boly Welch is pretty and shiny and has great marketing and community involvement which is great. However, I often felt like they really put a priority on their biggest clients and finding employees for them rather than their "B-Team" positions and the employees that go with them. From an employer POV as well trying to find employees, there was a period of time where my company really struggled to get any good candidates from them - and not for lack of people applying, but we felt they kept cherry picking and sending us unqualified candidates. When we opened up the job process and did the hiring directly ourselves, we had much better luck. read more

Boly:Welch recruiters were so great to work with (Allie and Taylor specifically). They were professional, personable and always responsive. I have worked with Boly Welch twice since moving to Portland, and both times have been immensely worthwhile. While they did not actually place me the first time, Boly Welch's practical advice and moral support were instrumental in helping me to land my current position. After a couple of years at my job I was on the hunt for new opportunities and went back to Boly Welch because of my great experience the first time. The second time around was just as great! Rosemary Schwimmer and the whole team at Boly Welch were immensely valuable in connecting me with employers, including the employer with whom I have just accepted a new position! They were a wellspring of resume, cover letter, and interview advice, which made me a much more competitive job candidate. They also have a vast and diverse client base, which means that when you work with Boly Welch, you are casting a wide net to maximize the number of opportunities that you can try to take advantage of. I highly recommend Jen Lind and the team at Boly:Welch. Jen was helpful from the beginning, from connecting me to Katie (contract/temp work) to helpful resume tips, thorough potential employer information, interview tips, ensuring she had coverage when she was on vacation (Corbin was great), and prompt updates. Brittney was a source of light and encouragement in my career change and job search. She had this spectacular way of seeing the entire version of me finding a position within a company that will welcome me 100%. I have spent the past many years both self-employed and then working from home for my small child. Some recruiters were vocal about this being a major challenge in placing me. With the arise of COVID, I had all but forgotten about my career search. Lucky for me, Brittney had not. Two years after we first met, my face appeared to her on a piece of toast and she called me with a dream job in a dream company. She was not confounded by my wide-ranging employment experience or by my desire to change lanes. In fact, Brittney found my entrepreneurial grit, determination, and curiosity to be my most formidable assets and placed me with a company that requires these precise skills. Brittney is magnetic, positive, realistic, and most generous with her spirit and her time. Two things that cannot be replicated or manufactured. Brittney is special for myriad reasons, and I appreciate that she brings 100% of herself to finding matches. She's not just a recruiter, or just a career coach...she is EVERYTHING. I trust her implicitly and am grateful beyond words. read more

I had extremely high hopes about this company. I interviewed with Roxanne, one of the recruiters, about a role that they had advertised that I applied for. I met all of the requirements for the job, offered a comparable minimum salary requirement based on my experience and the average pay for that particular role, and conducted myself professionally during the interview. I scored in the top range on all assessments that they had me take, was early to our meeting, and was kind and courteous to all staff members. As soon as the interview started, I realized that my time was being wasted. Roxanne would ask me a question, and as soon as I started to answer it, she'd interrupt me and start talking about something else. I remained professional and attempted to navigate the conversation as best I could, given the lack of tact on her behalf. Regardless, what happened next was appalling. The entirety of our conversation lasted no more than 10 minutes. At about the five minute mark, she inadvertently labeled herself as an ageist and stated that I am "asking for too much money for my age", despite the fact that I far exceeded the requirements of the positions that I was applying to. She admitted that my assessment scores were stellar, I acted and dressed professionally, and that I conduct myself well, but then proceeded to state that she can't believe I'm asking for "this much" (i.e. a comparable salary based on the role, requirements, location, and my experience) given how "young" I am (note: I'm in my mid-twenties). I am extremely disappointed that a business such as this one is enforcing such discriminatory practices. To all other candidates - I hope that you are treated far better than I was, regardless of age, sex, gender, race, or ethnicity. Or, at the very least, I really hope you don't have to work with Roxanne. Also worth noting: the guy at the front desk was incredibly kind and professional! The business is lucky to have him! read more

My entire experience with Boly:Welch has been stellar. From my first visit, through interviews and now finding my final placement at an employer, I have felt 100% valued. heard, and supported. In person, over the phone, and in email all correspondence has been timely, specific, helpful, and positive. I felt comfortable asking questions and appreciated the consideration B:W took when suggesting roles for me. They took time to understand who I am as a person and what sort of culture I was looking for, in addition to my skill sets so that the opportunities presented felt right for me. I always felt valued and that my best interests were at the heart of their actions. I also felt like I had a team rooting for me. They wanted me to succeed. I cannot recommend them enough, and I am so grateful for them. I want to highly recommend the team at Boly:Welch. I'm new to Portland. I had a job lined up when I moved from California. I was set up for a face to face after weeks of phone conversations and the job verbally lined up. The morning we were to meet I received a text postponing the meeting and never heard back. In the end, I am in a much better position. I was on the job hunt 24/7 when I came across Boly:Welch. Corbin, thank you so very much for responding so quickly & kindly to my question in the chat on the bw website when I first found Boly:Welch on January 19th. Thank you also, for inviting me to the workshops on Wednesdays. I honestly feel that the information you & your team gave and the adjustments I made from your workshops on Resume & LinkedIn, made the difference in looking professional and being hired within a week after uploading to the sites. Lauren & Katie, thank you for our zoom interviews & trying to help me find/temp/permanent work. I appreciate the time you took with me. I really felt you both had a grasp on what I was looking for. I highly recommend Boly:Welch! Go on their website, apply for jobs and join the workshops. Thank you, Corbin & Boly:Welch!!! read more

Boly:Welch really seems to have downhill in the past couple of years. If you look closely, only one of the positive reviews is recent and the rest are from 2009 and older. Look closer still, and you'll find the 9 filtered one-star reviews, all from people that the agency never placed. Here's hoping my review doesn't join theirs. I've been with Boly:Welch for two months as a temp candidate and a month as a long-term, temp-to-hire candidate. I went in and met with the recruiter, filled out all the paperwork, did the computerized tests, scored highly, was told that I have a great resume with good experience. Since then, I have not heard from either of the recruiters. I have not interviewed once and as far as I can tell, have not been submitted for a single position, temp or long-term. It's a difficult job market, sure, but I have gotten more interviews for 'real' jobs on my own than I have for temp positions through Boly:Welch. Waste of my time. read more
