I have a lower level commercial tanning bed at home. I like to use Celebrity Tan for bronzing/darkening or just boosting my tan for events/trips. I'm a Journalist, I travel so a membership isn't right for me. I came in for a single tan and silicone bronzer, I inquired about any specials etc... The girl upfront told me about a free tan with a face lotion purchase and a free week of tanning with the purchase of certain body lotions. I asked, and clarified a few times with her to ensure that the bottles I chose were silicone. (No, I didn't take time to read each ingredient; that's why I asked her opinion and advice, and low on time.) Bottom line... both lotions were not silicone. Considering the pricing structure at salons of this caliber (Celebrity Tan to be specific in this case), I do expect a certain level of awareness/knowledge of the entire product line they sell. It's a fair expectation I believe. I noticed the lotions weren't silicone when I put the lotion on immediately, it wasn't smooth like I know silicone to be in tanning products, and I've used tons. I left for my Convention to Miami that evening. I'm launching my own news network here in Tucson, my interviews are high profile, so I like to look and feel my best when on camera. (I still haven't used my one week free yet.) I paid around $110.00 for lotions I used once and won't use again. I listed them on eBay for a loss. I think this location of employees is in need of product knowledge and customer retention education, in my opinion. I'll reiterate, I loved the Cortaro location and staff. Too bad they didn't transfer with the clientele. I'll go in today to start my free week and use my silicone bronzers I ordered on tan2day.com. I'm sure the tanning beds are terrific, the one I used there so far was excellent. The tan experience is always great. The beds/rooms are super clean and tidy. There have never been any bulbs out that I've experienced, I assume this is due to responsible and routine maintenance. Honestly, it's the staffs maturity/knowledge that are not up to the standard of Celebrity Tans quality. I suspect it's the age of employees that could contribute to this issue. I know their image is young, beautiful and tan. It pays though to invest in quality over image. Thanks for reading my experience.

She mocked our nicknames and made several unnecessary phone calls to us both for simple approvals, which made the experience quite unpleasant. Color started popping about 2-3 hours later. Next day I was full on tan. It is day 5 and I still have some great color. First, she was on the phone when I walked in, no greeting in my direction whatsoever, she proceeded to deny me my own minutes which I purchased awhile back because there were 2 people with my name in the system (no my name is not Jane Smith or Sally Brown). I understand, apparently when I purchased the package it must have been put on the wrong account (which btw had no address or phone number attached) computer mishaps happen. However, I'm a responsible adult with a full-time job who didn't just wake up on a Sunday and decide I wanted to scam the nearest tanning salon out of 15 minutes of bed time. So when she condescendingly denied me access to what I paid for I simply turned around and left. I probably would've tanned for 15 minutes and not returned for another 2 years, but how the way this girl spoke/behaved towards me was simply rude and uncalled for. On another note, this tanning salon shouldn't allow their employees unlimited access to their tanning beds for personal use because they are the face representing their place of employment and this girl was definitely one that didn't represent "everything in moderation" as a healthy example.

If that wasn't bad enough, when I was putting my lotion on a cockroach crawled out from under the bed across my foot. There was dry old lotion on the floors and wall and the bed looked liked someone had just tanned in it with sweat marks all over. This was all enough for me to take, I left immediately and I will never go back. That salon used to be clean, not so much anymore. The new faces are rude, they apparently never clean and I'd rather pay higher prices than go through that ever again. Extremely gross!
