I asked her eye drops and a Tylenol and I was told by the nurse tonight that she wasn't going to give it to me for whatever reason! I told her I was in pain and she said no. I'm signing myself out I can't be here. I've had no care. The food is awful I have diarrhea. I've had no attention I got antibiotics for my kidney infection so I'll take the antibiotics on the prescription with me home. I have no products to take care of myself and no clean clothes. This place is a monster prison. There been three people that even talk kindly to me. The staff has been abusive verbally and emotionally I believe they are delighted to be evil and cause people pain. I need to accept that people work with the elderly to dump their anger. So tired of this place.

The deciding factor was simple but important: Rossmoor felt like a true medical care facility, while the other location felt more like a modern senior or retirement center. Given my father's condition, he needed real medical care--not just a nice environment--and Rossmoor clearly fit that need. From the very beginning, the level of service exceeded my expectations. Steve Stock, the General Manager, was outstanding. He gave me his mobile number and told me to text him anytime if something came up. That alone speaks volumes. I did my best not to reach out unless it was truly necessary, but whenever I did, he addressed every issue promptly and thoroughly. Not a single request was missed. I honestly don't know how he stays so organized, but he does--and it shows. One thing that really mattered to us was consistency with medications, and Rossmoor delivered. All medications were always administered correctly and on time, without exception. That level of reliability brought a lot of peace of mind. The food was also decent--better than expected for a medical facility--and whenever there was an opportunity to make things a little better or more comfortable, the staff consistently went the extra mile. The staff across the board were excellent. Every single person we interacted with was professional, kind, and clearly well trained. Special thanks to nurses Nadia, Carly, Roxanne, Marielle, and Gia--each one was outstanding and made a difficult time much easier for our family. The PT and OT staff were also fantastic--thank you Erica for your patience and care. Thanks to the laundry staff and the front desk team as well; their work doesn't go unnoticed. Bottom line: I highly recommend Rossmoor Post Acute to anyone who needs true post-acute medical care. I was coming in twice a week for 6 months and not only was my surgeon confused with my progress, he said my hip would have worn itself out within 2 years... the new hip that supposed to last 20. Put yourself in my shoes thinking you're going to live at 60% forever. I'm finally feeling normal. How many sessions would it have taken for you to jump and intervene? 100? $10k later? The entire staff is friendly and they showed they really cared about me getting well. The Nurses and CNA's were fantastic and did everything to make me feel more comfortable in a place that is hard to feel comfortable. They really did well. As far as my Physical Therapy went, it was absolutely the best I've every been to. Unfortunately I had a severe gram mal seizure and that affects the way I can walk sometimes. Some day's I couldn't even walk at all, but with the two scheduled therapy sessions I had each day I progressed to standing up with the walker and was able to safely go use the restroom when I needed too. I had to ask the nurses at first so they could keep an eye out for a fall, but that never happened. Eventually I was able to stand and walk sturdy enough I no longer had to ask during the end of my stay. The Physical Therapy Staff and department deserve all 5 stars is how I rate them. I'm a bit of a grouch so when I say 5 stars I mean it and it's for real. The Dr's were friendly and of course knowledgeable too. The front host and administrator Victoria was always on top on things as Vicroria is the perfect person to greet visitors when entering. She makes a great first impression. Abe the G.M. was extremely nice and approachable. Most G.M's don't hardly even say hello to you or acknowledge your presence , but Abe took time out to speak with me and always had a positive smile on his face.. Great guy. Letecia the activities director was great too. Wonderful interaction with her patients and always tried to make a dull day at the nursing home/ short term rehab facility positive and a little more fun. Breaking my pelvis was no joke and very difficult for anybody especially the CNA's who attended me for all my needs and toiletries. There was always someone to help me and not leave me alone during my recovery. I found the food satisfactory and always delivered to our rooms on time. The rooms were cleaned every day by a very very efficient lady. She was also very entertaining. I stayed for six weeks and had three different roommates which the last one was very nice and we seem to have mutual understandings. I would recommend Moraga post acute care. The physical therapy sessions were seven days a week for me and the therapist were very thorough and supportive of me to walk again and have the equipment that I needed to support myself without falling. I have been in two rehabs in Nevada. The first after I had a stroke ending and left side deficits and the other for collapse vertebrae in my lumbar region, and neither of these facilities had daily cleaning Moraga post acute care made me feel very comfortable facility took cleaning very seriously .

Not only is the building new and well-maintained, with private rooms and bathrooms for each patient, but the quality of care truly stands out. The Director of Nursing makes a point to round on patients regularly, remaining visible and available for questions, concerns, and feedback from both patients and staff. That leadership presence carries over to the frontline nurses, who consistently treat patients with empathy and compassion--qualities that can be lacking in many other SNFs. The food is also impressive. It may not be a five-star restaurant, but even as a family member, I found the meals enjoyable and something I wouldn't turn away. Like any facility, there are opportunities for improvement. Therapy services at times seemed to be provided at a minimal level, likely reflecting staffing and workload challenges--an issue I recognize is not unique to this SNF. That said, I'm grateful my family member was able to maximize her rehabilitation. Her extended stay following an acute stay helped build her endurance, and she received excellent nursing care before being discharged home. As a family, we felt more prepared and better equipped to care for her. Now, she's slowly but surely thriving again. Thank you, Shadelands team, for being part of our journey!

When I was told a few years ago that I had two hours to choose a skilled nursing facility I jumped in my car and quickly toured a few. I chose La Casa Via where my grandmother stayed several years ago as well. No one acknowledged me outside of patients in the lobby. They looked happy which is why I gave three stars. I'm assuming these were patients waiting to go home. 2. I found a nurses station with a nurse sitting at the desk at the very end of the hallway and boy was she unhappy at work. She was very rude. That was a huge red flag. When families come here they want to see the staff as happy as they can be because for some families this is their loved one's last stop. 3. I received a small tour which was very informative. *they don't have a contract with Kaiser. *they do have a contract with contra costa health plan *OT, PT, SLP don't work on weekends *Rehab is based on insurance coverage from what I was told. They will not give your loved one five days a week rehab although they're paid for everyday your loved one is there. My loved one is there for rehab everyday they're there not to enjoy the scene. I decided to move forward with an acute outpatient rehab and they're doing amazing with much more equipment.

I wanted to get him up and an orderly helped right away and placed him in his wheelchair ( no easy task) He's now able to walk the length of the hall with assistance but shuffling along I intend to see him tomorrow.
