My two star review is not for my knee pain treatment which I rate 5 stars. This review is because my last appointment which was a video follow up a few weeks after my last knee injection was canceled less than a day before my scheduled appointment. The doctor was unable to see me and my appointment was rescheduled for two days later. I was not happy about this appointment being canceled on short notice because it was my last one before my case closed and we moved to the settlement phase. Sol Medical should have doctors on call to see patients when their doctor is unavailable to see them on short notice. read more

You can't talk to a live person for the W.C Sol PT. . just a machine.. . they need to invest in a live receptionist who can book at appmt. I will change my review if a more efficient human takes the calls in the future. read more

I've seen Jack for the last few years when I've had different injuries while training for major backpacking + hiking trips, and he's been truly incredible. He takes the time to really understand what you're navigating, gives you clarity on what you're experiencing, and comes up with a plan that's both sustainable + impactful. I've moved through a knee injury, a hip flexor strain, and tendon inflammation under his care -- and been able to return to all my favorite activities (and hike half dome)! Great experience and results. July '23 soccer turf toe and knee injury. Sep. '23 started SOL Physical Therapy after consulting with my doctor. Dec 30th climbed a mountain in Ecuador while on vacation. The office staff worked with my insurance and kept me informed when necessary. Quality of care is excellent. Front desk staff is excellent. However the software that accepts your credit card payment rarely works. You then have to physically give your card to the staff to manually enter it for payment. It is uncomfortable to physically give your card anymore with all the scamming. I never have any issues at all the stores I shop with using the pad to accept payment. Be ready for this and decide if it's right for you read more

I had an ACL Reconstruction surgery back in October and started working with Jenny right after surgery on my recovery. I've been going to PT twice a week. I wish I could give a thousand stars! I'm still going regularly and the experience has been great! The treatment has really been compassionate, and personalized to help me get the best results. They have an online app to help keep up with exercises at home. I feel so much stronger going from not being able to walk without a limp to walking better than I have in over a year and I just now rejoined a gym and started working out again. All of the therapists are amazing! The whole team including admin/front desk staff have been so helpful. They are flexible with rescheduling appointments when possible and doing telehealth at times. Also, they accepted my insurance. For anyone who has a PPO you know how much a hassle it can be. I just gave them my info and they worked it out! I would recommend to anyone they are one of the best practices in the area in my opinion! read more

I couldn't be happier with my treatment here; I highly suggest making an appointment with SOL/WC for anyone looking for a PT in the east bay (925/510) I have had varying degrees of ankle pain due to an injury as a child. Earlier this year, pain began to get progressively worse and through the suggestion of my podiatrist, she sent me to SOL, first at the Piedmont location, but I've since transferred over to this smaller, more personal clinic in Walnut Creek. For months, I've been working with Dr. Jenny Li, again, first in Piedmont/Oakland and now at WC, and thus far, I've really appreciated the specialized attention I've received. Jenny understood the issues I had and started off with, and was always able to tweak or modify my exercises as my form and/or strength increased (and in turn, pain decrease.) A few years ago I never would have thought I would be able to shake the day to day pain, let alone walk, exercise and even jog like I used to without discomfort and chronic pain. However, week after week, month after month, I'm definitely feeling improvement in terms of stability and strength thanks to my PT and the SOL team. Additional, non PT related: Parking at WC location could be better with SOL -designated parking spaces, as the lot gets super busy in the afternoons. Such a caring and knowledgeable team of therapists. I have completed 4 rounds of PT after 2 knee replacements and 2 foot/ankle procedures. Highly recommend the Walnut Creek location. Jennifer, the master scheduler and office manager, is friendly and professional and keeps everything running smoothly. She was great in accommodating my schedule. Sean and Iva got me through this last rehab. Their skills complemented each other and they pushed me to get stronger and do the work. Both are lovely humans. And Jack is the anchor of SOL. Big fan of Sol. Lots of shoulder pain. Had been to another PT place that was doing ice, heat, electrodes, traction but not giving me exercises. And when they did give me exercises after 6 sessions they weren't helping. Jack examined my shoulder. Gave me four good exercises and I walked out of the session with significantly less pain. First time in months. No unnecessary electrodes or ice or heat. After first guy I figured surgery was in my future. Now much more hopeful. read more

I've been a SOL client for a long time for various emerging and unrelated issues (postpartum recovery, running injury), and have always received great and effective care, coming out stronger and stabler at the end and ready for greater physical challenges. All the folks I've worked with at SOL are wonderful, but when Jack moved from Oakland to Walnut Creek, I followed him there even though I live less than a mile from the Oakland location. I have a history of knee problems due to multiple ligament tears . I was recommended SOL by my physician and I am so thankful for that . I was helped by Joyce and both the Courtney's and they helped me work through a very rigorous problem to get my knee stronger . Short story: I highly recommend SOL Physical Therapy as they provide excellent care. This is the place I'll go back if I need PT again. More detail: I was referred to PT by my family Dr for ongoing shoulder and backpain that had started to effect my posture. I was very lucky to work with Jack (Jack Chan-Imai). Initially, he spent decent amount of time to understand the problem, to figure out the root cause and created my chart with measurements to keep track of my progress both quantitively and qualitatively. The exercises were very effective and provided quick progress. Jack kept changing the exercises depending on my current progress. He and his staff were always patient and they always paid great attention to make sure that the exercises were done correctly. Through their portal, it was easy to watch and understand the assigned at home exercises as well. They also have a pilates reformer at their office and per my request, they changed my routine to add some pilates exercises. Jen is extremely helpful with changing schedules and makes you feel like you have an ally there. Overall, I had an extremely great experience and what started as a burden, surprisingly turned into something I looked forward to for my approximately 2-3 months timeframe with them. I've had chronic back pain for years and decided to do another round of PT after five years. I was looking for something close to my area, and SOL PT in Walnut Creek was the perfect spot. I worked with Jack Chan and his staff, and they were terrific. Jack is very dedicated, patient, and knowledgeable. My pain was reduced significantly with the exercises and movements he prescribed for me. I regained more mobility and noticed I was more flexible as well. I would like to recommend a very special physical therapist- Jenny Li. Jenny is a very kind and caring person who truly cares and it is important to her that you get strong and feel better. She has a way of affecting one's mental attitude about themself as well. She definitely knows how to read the whole person! And in my opinion that is what it takes! SOL physical therapy is such a calming and healing environment. I've struggled with rheumatoid arthritis for 19 years. I've been to a number of PT places over the years and this has been one of my favorites by far. Jenny is an incredibly knowledgeable and integrative physical therapist. She incorporates a wide variety of exercises that are easy to practice at home. Jenny's amazing at finding that fine balance between pushing yourself towards getting better but not pushing too hard.
