Kavina Dave at Back on Track on Lennon Lane is a top-notch physical therapist that I highly recommend. She (and other PTs at Back on Track) brought me from severe frozen shoulder with excruciating pain and greatly restricted range of motion -- to being virtually pain-free and having most of my range of motion restored in about five months. I'm excited that I can use my once-useless arm to do all the things I couldn't do when I started physical therapy with Kavina. She used all the proper exercises and treatments at all the right times to achieve this excellent result. Back On Track's office staff and helpers are also wonderful. I scheduled an appointment with this physical therapy clinic six weeks ago and received zero confirmation or communication during that entire time. On the morning of my appointment, I called to confirm, only to be told--after they called me back--that they do not accept my insurance. The explanation? The person who scheduled my appointment was "in training." What's worse, the staff member who informed me of this was completely unsympathetic and offered no solution whatsoever--just a flat "sorry." No attempt to help me find alternatives, no urgency to correct their mistake. Because of their incompetence, I now have to start over and wait another 4-6 weeks for care I needed weeks ago. This is unacceptable and shows a complete lack of respect for patients' time and health needs. If you value clear communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy, look elsewhere. What a wonderful experience I had with Back on Track in Walnut Creek location. As a referral from Walnut Creek Orthopedics, I joined their practice after a successful torn rotator cuff surgery by Dr Bill Workman (also highly recommended). During a 12-week physical therapy journey with Alexa (amazing!) i had 170° articulation in my shoulder. Alexa was incredibly caring, warm, kind and funny. She is simply the best! They got me sooooo messed up it is literally INSANE!!!! Literally my first day there before I started physical therapy. I asked them is my insurance cover this I have Medi-Cal. They told me yes I asked if I had any co-pays they told me no. Fast forward to my insurance being switched over to different counties. They called me and told me I couldn't come anymore because my insurance wasn't covering the sessions which is understandable and totally fine fast-forward to the day they're sending me a $450 bill and they can shove it up they butts for real! Where did this come from? All of a sudden you guys need $450 from me when I asked you upfront if I need to pay anything?? Good luck I'll see you in court. I recently completed PT at Pleasanton Physical Therapy after my hip replacement surgery. Ishani was my primary therapist and was excellent. She is by far, the best Physical Therapist I have ever had. She also worked with me pre-surgery to help me reduce the pain I was experiencing, and increase strength in my hip, leg and back to prepare me for surgery. Ishani is an expert in her field, and with her help and guidance I continued to strengthen the tissues and muscles surrounding my new hip. She also has such a caring, positive attitude, and helped me during my recovery both physically and emotionally. The entire staff that works there are so welcoming, caring and professional. I am so grateful for the therapy Ishani and her team provided me. Because of them, my hip replacement recovery has gone very smoothly. Back On Track is a great clinic to try. I reached out after a few years of experiencing TMJ symptoms and trying to find care through various specialists and referrals. Hiten was able to confirm the issue during my initial visit, and over the course of a few months he and his physical therapy team introduced me to a variety of exercises that resulted in a noticeable improvement. They have really helped me practice better posture and gain awareness of how to treat my condition. I ended up in Dan's care after being stuck at home for the first few weeks of covid. I had been stuck on the couch for almost two weeks during covid and I ended up throwing my back out... Twice... and then dislocating my shoulder a few weeks later... I was a MESS. I showed up at Back On Track after seeing another PT in town and not feeling comfortable there. That place was run down and everything felt rushed. Plus the PT spoke to me once in three visits... Not cool. When I walked up stairs into this office, they had folks taking temperature checks, seating was spaced out and you could see that the chairs had just been wipes down. They were also clearly keeping capacity down and all of the equipment was newer. I felt way better! Dan took it one step at a time to hear out the history behind my injuries, what I thought I did and really take a more holistic approach vs just treating me for one thing and getting me out asap. I was in pretty bad shape, unable to stand up straight, unable to pick up any objects with weight, no sleeping and all around just cranky lol. He worked through my plethora of problems by using a variety of treatments. Massages, stretching, strengthening, ultrasound, electro therapy and most importantly, teaching me how to keep in shape at home so that I do not end up back here again. The staff is all super cool and in my opinion, the things I was taught there are worth paying for out of pocket. Once I was done I felt like someone just performed a tuneup on my body! I have been raving about resistance band workouts to everyone and Ive referred several people this was because it literally was life changing for me. I've been coming to this practice for over a year and I am so grateful. The staff is amazingly kind and helpful. They are very accommodating and always greet me with a smile and a warm welcome. Don't go here. They will send you bills you've already paid and say you didn't pay. They'll try to bill you for over a year even though you've proven you've paid through bank statements. They made my neck worse as well and don't know what they were doing. I had to go to a chiropractor specialist and pay $1500 for their help. But they actually helped me. It was because of them that I had to see another doctor because they were hurting my neck and made it worse. I have made a complaint to the BBB for them to stop bothering me. Ask them for a receipt when you pay for your office visit and keep it for when they start sending you bills. read more

For my third one I arrived 30 minutes late only to learn that it had been cancelled inadvertently. The receptionist very nicely fit me in later that afternoon. I was referred to Back on Track by my doctor for severe neck and wrist pain that I have been having over the past few months. I didn't want to come here but my doctor wouldn't give me a referral to a chiropractor and specifically wrote a referral to go here only. It is clear that these people get kickbacks from each other. Upon check in, even though I had all my paperwork already filled out, I had to wait half an hour to see someone. I was seen by a doctor who didn't even address my wrist pain and only focused on my neck pain. She sent in another person (maybe a doctor) who basically had no background on what the first doctor spoke with me about which caused me to re-explain everything again and then after a few moments with her, I waited for another person to come in. Then someone else came in and gave me some ultrasound therapy which did absolutely nothing. Then I had to wait again to get electrical therapy from someone else. I think I saw 4 different people and basically did absolutely nothing. What's really bad is that I cancelled all my future appointments and now they keep calling me and asking why I am not coming back. Why don't you leave me alone and stop calling me. This place is a scam to make money and bill the maximum amount of money to each patient. This place is a PT farm, don't come here! read more

My case was super weird and I had doctors giving me the runaround. But she has gotten me out of my giant brace and walking around in less pain. I came to Back on Track due to an irreparable rotator cuff injury and surgery was not an option. At the time of my injury I was not able to move my right arm above my chest. For six months, I worked alongside Madison and PT aides (Toby, Kyle, Masooma). Each one of them dedicated and instrumental to my recovery. I have regained full range of motion and enough strength to my arm and shoulder to go back to rowing. I was actually sad when told that I no longer needed physical therapy. Good fortune. In June of 2021 I had neuro-orthopedic surgery to correct a spine problem. Naturally PT was recommended as part of my recovery. I set out to schedule my PT with a large PT and orthopedic group associated with John Muir Hospital, whom I had used in the past. I was very satisfied with my past therapy with this group so it was a simple choice. However, this time I was told I would not be able to schedule PT with them because "my surgery was not done by this orthopedic surgical group". So that was a surprise and a disappointment. But as it turns out this was a fortune of good luck. I scheduled my PT with Back On Track. From my initial meeting with Hiten Davie I felt comfortable that this group was experienced with my type of surgery, knew where I was with recovery and what would be required to bring me back to normal functionality, once again. My case was assigned to Madi, a wonderful and knowledgeable PTA. Throughout my course of physical therapy she would explain exactly what we were working on and would explain what muscles or muscle-skeletal section was being isolated and strengthened. To me this was an important step since 80% of my recovery was through repeating my exercises at home. Madi would help calm down my anxiety when at times I really thought my surgery might have failed. She took all of this in stride and reassured me that what I was experiencing was common. I rate them a 5 star and would have no problem recommending them to others. I visited Russ for an initial consultation and he ended up injuring me. I went in experiencing mild discomfort in my back and pain in my arm. I left unable to lay on my stomach or side without excruciating pain in my lower rib cage. I'm a relatively healthy 36 year old man. If you're older and not in great shape, I would be really weary of trusting him with your health. My doctor suspects I have slipping rib syndrome and he unintentionally aggravated the condition I went in for. When I asked him what he did to cause my pain, he was unable to make a determination. He ultimately attempted to treat me for something unrelated to my initial concerns and he seemed uninterested in addressing the pain he caused me. I'm seriously considering seeking legal action and/or reporting this practice to a governing authority of some kind. read more

My doctor referred me to Hiten Dave' (Physical Therapist) - as I was in considerable pain for nearly a year and unable to stand for more than 10 minutes at a time. I was expecting to spend many hours in pain try to "work through it". Long story short - on the 3rd of 6 sessions (two weeks from the day we started) the pain went from about an 8 of 10 to a 1 of 10 and was barely noticeable. Where do I start.. I started coming here after destroying my leg and suffering nerve damage back in January. I was referred here by my surgeon who said he's heard good things. Verna, the office manager, took on the task of getting my insurance company to cover my needs. She was able to do it with great effectiveness and I started therapy with Hiten Dave. Hiten was very knowledgeable and really explained the entire process to me. I was first treated for the pain following surgery with many of the tools and techniques they employ here. Once that phase was over, the real difficult stuff began. I had severe nerve damage and as a result I suffered muscle atrophy and drop foot. This is where back on track really sets it's self apart from the rest. I began strength training at the start of my visits to combat the muscle loss. Jonathan, who is very energetic and has a great understanding of human mechanics, helped me regain strength and establish new body mechanics to make walking with foot drop possible. During all my sessions (over 40) I was always encouraged by Kim(hiten's wife and jack of all trades) and Alexa who run the office and patient experiences. They knew how I was progressing and would always offer motivation which goes along way. Hiten Dave worked with my progress and pushed me closer to my goals at each visit. Ive been to therapy in the past and never had someone become so involved in my recovery. He would regularly communicate with my surgeon and relay where he feels my progress is and should be. Hiten Dave uses many methods of therapy but above all that is compassion for his patients. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a place that wont just tell them to stretch, ice , heat and repeat. I wish I could give them 50 stars. I badly injured my ankle on a run and 4 months later, was still in pain despite seeing my doctor and a podiatrist. I was despondent. On a whim, I called Back on Track PT based off their glowing Yelp reviews. It was the BEST decision I could have made for my ankle!
