Hands down to the best physical therapy clinic in Walnut Creek. I have low back pain and have seen many therapists and chiropractors to help reduce the pain. I even paid thousands of dollars trying out different work chairs and nothing really worked! It would only work temporary but after a week, the pain would not go away (sitting was painful and would bring tears to my eyes). I was desperate to try all methods but was running out of luck. However, after finding this place, it has changed my life. The therapists and Hiten had some sort of magic, it's like they practice sorcery at Hogwarts. They took the time to understand my issue and gave me different home workouts/stretches to do. One treatment session felt like they fixed me and they did! I no longer have to dread about sitting down nor feeling pain. I can jump up and down like a little kid again. The staff is wonderful and they really care about their patients. This is an update for my two previous reviews from 2014 and 2017. I was helped immensely by Hiten and his staff after tearing my left ACL in March of 2017 and my knee was doing great by summertime. November of 2017 I put myself through a lot more standing/walking than usual with holiday preparations and triggered an episode of posterior tibial tendonitis in my right leg . Anyone who has experienced this condition knows how discouraging it is because of how long it takes to recover from. Hiten had so many ideas and interventions to try and used a variety of approaches to ensure the best outcome. He also suggested home exercises and simple ways I could prolong the effects of my office visits. Special shout out to Stephanie who is a taping master and took time to be sure my technique was fine-tuned so I could tape up at home. Result of the holistic care I received here is that I am fully on my feet again and feeling great. I went to Back on Track for a foot injury that was difficult to understand. Pawan was able to find the tendon that was causing most of the issues, and she recommended some great stretching and strengthening exercises. I went to 10 sessions mostly with Pawan and a couple with Russ. Eventually I got a cortizone shot that seemed to work, but the stretching/strengthening exercises greatly improved my balance and leg strength (which were admittedly not great before I came here). I even bought some of the equipment they had me use and still regularly use them in my workouts today. What I most appreciated about this group was that they understood that I am an athlete and not willing to just sit out for several months, so they worked with me to ease back into my regular activities without making my injuries worse. I would definitely recommend this group for dedicated care and insight into injury repair and future prevention. read more

I have been going to Hiten Dave at Back on Track for Physical Therapy mainly on my neck. In the past, I tried other places but nothing compares to Back on Track. While doctor's could not take my pain away with medication and various procedures, Hiten was able to. He is hands on and while you get exercises, he works on your total body with his healing techniques to relieve pain. He is always taking classes and seminars to learn new techniques. I have been going to back on track since last 10 years on/off. I break it and they fix it!! Eliz- the Yelpr needs to calm down and it seems like she is too hard on them. Hiten and his staff are Godsend in walnut creek. I have been saved from an shoulder and knee surgery by going to back on track. My surgeon was raedy to do surgery! I owe them big time. First of all let me state that I will do anything to avoid driving, so if my husband hadn't recommended the office, I would've found one closer. Back on Track is worth the drive!! I have had at least five physical therapists in my life and most of them were very good. Hiten, at Back on Track, is exceptional. I would call him a healer. He will find knots that you didn't know that you even had. He works them all out and seems to get to the root of the pain. You are never left alone to work on exercises. Either he is working on you or you have a pulsing heat-wrap on the affected area. You leave the office feeling relaxed and healthy again. I never imagined that a PT would've been able to help me with headaches, but he did. All ENT's should refer patients here. Sometimes (well, many times), surgery does not cure the pain. read more

I first used Back on Track two years ago to rehab a plantar fasciitis injury. I am completely healed from the injury, and still perform the rehab exercises the therapist taught me. In November, 2014, I injured a tendon in my shin while cycling. I sought treatment from Nicole at Back on Track. She administered a series of deep tissue massage treatments that were extremely helpful. She also identified muscle imbalances in my leg, and prescribed strengthening exercises to address these weaknesses. I am back on the bike and training as before the injury. I have been to other Physical Therapy groups, but Hiten Dave and the staff at Back On Track are the BEST. The treatments are great. They are skilled and caring. Hiten's special techniques are like magic. His unique treatments are painless with immediate healing. I have had 3 spine surgeries as well as shoulder surgery in the last 2.5 years, and after other physical therapies I was still in lots of pain. This is the 3rd time in my life Ive needed PT. (I concur with whomever wrote: "If I could give them less stars, I would".) Of all of them, this one, is by far the worst one. I went back and read through the good reviews and noticed a trend. Almost all of the 5 star reviews were previous to April 2016 - so Im not sure if the leadership or ownership changed but this place absolutely stinks. I am being polite. There are no private treatment rooms, its loud, noisy and chaotic. To worsen the matter, it is nearly impossible to get an appointment. I will leave it there. I am going back to the place I went 9 years ago and am willing to drive a minimum of an hour RT excluding traffic to Vallejo where had excellent care. Im out of here! read more

After having years of back pain and undergoing numerous procedures and physical therapy to alleviate the pain, I thought I had finally found a place that could help. Unfortunately I will never find out because they just called to tell me that they don't take Blue Shield of California if it was purchased through the exchange. Well I don't even know where to start. I have been seeing Hiten Dave' since 1996 and still to current date. I have had over 5 surgeries throughout the years and they have helped me with two surgeries that where for carpal tunnel syndrome. I have had the surgeries done twice on both wrists within a seven-year span and also I had a failed surgery on my left elbow and serve neck problems. The first time I had met Hiten back in 1996 and explained to him what the doctors had told me, he assured me that with his knowledge and expertise that he would be able to help me. (At that time I was a mess health wise and in a lot of pain) First of all, with my elbow surgery my nerve got knicked by mistake in surgery, which caused my fingers to have no motor skills left at all. Hiten was able to get my hand back working where I was able not only to use the hand, but also return to my job after I had went for very intense PT, sometimes up to five days in a week. (You could say I was a regular.) This was quite an accomplishment on his behalf, because I was told I wont not be able to use that hand again and needed to find a job that required no use of the hands (Which that job does not exist) I refused to take that for my answer. And again Hiten was right he had the knowledge and expertise to fix the problem and get me going again. Secondly, I have serious nerve damage in my neck, due to the way the desk set-up was back then. He also takes care of my neck and upper back to relieve all the pain I have there too. When I leave his office I feel so much better and my neck feels loose and a lot less painful. (What a relief) This next portion goes on and on so I wont bore you with all the details. My hands had carpal tunnel surgery done a year or two after my elbow surgery and as I said above again 7 years later. I had many problems with scar tissue and pounding pain in my wrist and shaking of the hands because of the nerve damage. Hiten was able to get that under control with many different options. Also with activities I could do at home and at work. And showed me additional things I could do at the gym to help. I go back to Hiten when I have flare-ups which is often because I own my own business and I type a lot and my work schedule is very demanding so I need pain relief and management at these times. I just want to say if you are looking for a top PT office and the best personal service, I can personally tell you Hiten Dave' has performed miracles on me over the years and can't recommend them enough. They staff is so understanding and able to make appointment around your schedule and time. Verna is a great asset to this company due to her knowledge of the business too! Since my first visit this place impressed me mainly because of my experience of FT sessions in other places. A warm welcome friendly atmosphere, smiling and satisfied patients. I felt like in the family. I immediatly felt that I am in good hands.My first impression was confirmed during my firs therapeutic session. My case was taken by Hiten. I liked him at once, but I did not know what his position on the team. I was especially surprised by his medical knowledge and unique skills also friendly but professional way of being and establishing realationships with the patient. Thanks to him I already after a few visits I found out that the cause of my ailments is not a problem with the knee as it was diagnosed by my orthopedic doctor but only the lumbar part of my spine, who has control over the nerves of the knee and hip. Each therapy brought me a lot of relief and hopes for the future of my health. During my rehabilitation Hiten uses different methods of treatment and tools. It is a great satisfaction to be his patient and observe constant improvement in my therapy in the fight against pain while walking or performing simple daily activities. Just the right man in the right place. By the way, he taught me Anulom/Yilom and Kapal Bhati. I highly recomend. I can not wait for for the next session because it works. Over the years, I have had several different medical issues come about where I needed Physical Therapy. During that time, I have been treated in several different Physical Therapy organizations, as I dutifully went where the M.D. referred me. This last year, I sustained a broken back. Surgery was "not as successful" as the Dr. had hoped. I was sent to Hiten to see if he could help. I am a 52 year old fat lady who just had a total knee replacement. I had never been to physical therapy before and chose Back on Track because they accepted my insurance (UHC) and all of the positive reviews on yelp. Long story short, EVERYONE is this office is terrific, professional, helpful and kind. I was 2 weeks out of surgery, using a walker, frightened to be there, frightened of more pain, self conscious, embarrassed and just wanted it all over with. My main therapist Rachel put me at ease immediately and built my confidence with every session. Hitan Dave worked his magic with joint massage and manipulation. These folks know what their doing, listen to your concerns, and design PT for you. I left there, after twice weekly sessions over 4 weeks, ready to return to work and with new knowledge on how to continue to improve movement and strength in my legs, knees and hips. If I ever get my other arthritic knee replaced- I won't go anywhere else for PT. Thanks Back on Track Team! Back on Track PT is a great facility. I had foot surgery in May `15 and was non weight bearing on my foot until August `15. I came into Back on Track using a walker in September `15. Avani was my PT & she is calm, professional, & reassuring. She worked magic on my foot showing me exercises and hands-on treatment on my foot. Now I am able to walk on my own. Avani is always so patient & always takes time to answer my questions. I can even email her during the week with questions. I've had PT before at other facilities & I tell you Avani is by far the best PT I have ever had. read more

I wish I could give "no stars" to this place. I broke my back in August and it took me two months to schedule an appointment. When I went to my first appointment the lady at the front desk was SO RUDE. First of all, being new to therapy I had no idea how everything worked, despite letting them know this they let me fill all the papers without explanation while going out of their way to help another patient. Not only did I feel this was poor service but also felt completely discriminated against because of my racial orientation, the other customer was a white American and was treated with the upmost respect, I however was not! I felt awkward and judged despite being a paying customer. The lady at the front desk scheduled more appointments for me (three to be exact) after I finished my therapy, I asked her to print out the schedule for me and was told their printer was broken and was handed a handwritten schedule of my appointments. I was told I would receive a call the day before my appointment which never came.. Therefore I rang them myself to which I was told I don't have any appointments scheduled!! I was offered no explanation or solution other then being told that they are very busy, as if that is an appropriate excuse!!! I have never come across such an unprofessional workplace and feel completely discriminated against as obviously the receptionist picks and chooses who gets appointments!! My time was completely wasted and will most definitely not being using this clinic in the future! read more

Back on Track is an exceptional Physical Therapy enterprise. The entire staff, including administrative personnel, support staff, and physical therapists are personable, professional, courteous, and caring. I felt confident that, with everyone's help and advice, I would recover full mobility of my left wrist, which I severely broke in an ice skating accident, needing surgery and a permanent metal plate with four screws. Hiten Dave was my main therapist and he was very gentle and knowledgeable. At each visit with him, he would carefully massage and stimulate my wrist and hand and even sometimes my arm, shoulders, and fingers! It felt AWESOME! After fusing my L5 S1 vertebre last year I've had more that 90 sessions of physical therapy at different places around the east bay. I was lucky enough to get my final 2 months of a Work Hardening program here at Back on Track. I have a 75lb lifting requirement to go back to work on an ambulance, which is no easy task. I spent most of my time there with Stephanie, Rachel and Jonathan and they worked extremely well together coming up with 2 hrs of workouts and stretches for every appointment. They were always vigilant in making sure not to aggravate my lower back, but at the same time challenging my mind and body to get to where I needed to be. I made my goal, and I can honestly say I would not have made that goal of 75lbs without their professional and caring attitudes. To be honest it was actually enjoyable to show up there and put my body through hell because of their personalities. It was a huge part of my rehabilitation and I'm going to miss them!!
