    Milk "tea"

I should have known better than to order milk tea in an Ohio mall. This should be called milk water, not milk tea. I could not see or taste any tea in it. I even asked to make sure she didn't forget the tea. She assured me it was in there. The only thing that saved this from being my worst milk tea experience is that I once had a milk tea that had a cockroach in it. And yes, I slurped up the cockroach into my mouth. (That happened at a different milk tea place.)

    Woop! There it is!

I promised I'd give up Bubble Teas when in Cleveland. But my addiction kicked in. And I was left singing Woop, I did it again I went to Beachwood, got lost in the Mall Oh baby baby Woop, you think I'm at home But I'm sipping Bubble Tea at Woop I'm not that innocent! 2.5 star average? Are you kidding me? I was going to give 5 anyway but definitely now. Holy underrated Boba, Batman! Cleveland is a city that doesn't really have any good bubble tea. Nothing remarkable anyway. Koko might be the best one. Or Phusion. But honestly, Woop is as good as anything else. Specifically the honey tea which is great. I can't vouch for the others, but I will definitely give it a nice healthy 5 star rating because I did enjoy it and we'll be going back to try it again at some point. Me and the girl that did the mall tour with me. Woop has really yummy honey tea, which is as good as anything at Koko or Phusion, the top spots for BT in CLE. They have inconsistent but decent tapioca pearls. The price is a little high but the girls are really nice. I will try honey dew and others next time. The only negative comment I have is the long, argumentative response to the 1-star review. I agree, the 1-star reviews of this place suck, and may even be fake in a couple of cases. But this business is forgetting the golden rule. Do not call out your customers in public. Do not say their review is "written inappropriately." Do not get into public arguments with them. Ever. At all. Why? Because, nobody is really going to read that silly review anyway, or take it seriously. But you know what they will read and take seriously? A business owner response. If you sound argumentative or aggressive or annoyed in a response, it can (and will) really put people off. Remember. There are 1,000,000 clueless customers out there and some will write Yelp reviews. But there is only one owner of a business (or so). And you want to make sure that the personality you put forward publicly has class, confidence, with zero drama and zero negativity. My advice to business owners is either do not respond to negative reviews, or, if you must, then be like Gandhi or Martin Luther King or Mother Teresa when you do. Peace and understanding. Don't take it so seriously. And if you can't take criticism, don't f***ing read it. This is not aimed at Woop. This is aimed at 83% of business owners in general. And at the 91% of people who irresponsibly fabricate statistics. Hopefully they'll heed my advice and adjust or remove that comment. And if anyone tries to steal my bubble tea, I'll Woop their ass.

The 'matcha' green tea which is neither green nor tastes like matcha.

1 star for both product and customer service. Awful and not worth the $4+ for essentially sweet milk with no discernible flavor whatsoever. I ordered a matcha and right away I was worried when it wasn't even green. Truly, it was white like milk. I took one sip and asked the associate to make me another one when my suspicions were confirmed. She didn't say anything, chucked it and then proceeded to do the exact same recipe. So I ended up with the same terrible drink. And she didn't speak to me the entire time, ask if it was any better, or just generally make any effort to acknowledge me. I've tried this place three times now, just hoping it will improve and manage to fulfill just the basic craving for bubble tea. I know Cleveland is not renowned whatsoever for bubble tea. But I've been to some pretty shitty bubble tea places across the country and nothing comes close to this. Backwoods Mississippi? Better. Out in the desert of Texas? Better. Sleepy mountain town in Colorado? Not amazing but at least the right color! How do you mess up the most basic of bubble tea flavors???? Save your money. It's not worth you even trying it. I won't be back.

They really need to invest in a professional shaker. I was not particularly thrilled with chunks of powder in my drink. Not good!

Cleveland has been slooooowwww in catching up with this trendy Asian drink phenomenon that's been so popular in both coasts and some of the more diverse inland metropoleis. It's been introduced in limited fashion as an "add-on" menu item by more and more businesses - mainly Asian restaurants - within the past few years to try and satisfy the increasing demand for it and capitalize on its popularity... but NONE have really put any serious effort into producing a proper and quality boba or bubble tea drink... until recently by a certain establishment in University Circle's Uptown. After many trips to the West Coast and Toronto, I personally had the idea of pioneering real boba in Cleveland over ten years ago. I didn't end up taking the thought seriously enough as I did not believe CLE was ready for it back then. The increased diversity coupled with the resurgence of the downtown and uptown areas within the last couple of years, Cleveland certainly is ready now. A couple of years ago, I revisited my idea and made several trips to the West Coast and NYC to research boba cafes and met with consultants and potential distributors to introduce this to Cleveland. I visited MANY cafes and sampled MANY drinks, accidentally becoming sort of a boba connoisseur. Having trouble finding the right partners, I put my idea on hold again. Was excited to find another Bubble Tea joint pop up... in Beachwood, of all places. Upon sight, of course, I had to try it. I tried two of their drinks: a taro milk tea, and a coconut milk tea. What I liked: Their pricing includes 2 toppings. What I didn't like: They ran out of pudding. Although I've had worse, the consistency of the boba was a bit hard, like they were not fresh. They use a cocktail shaker to mix their drinks. They really need to invest in a professional shaker. See photos - I was not particularly thrilled with chunks of powder in my drink. Not good! I realize these guys are new, but they have a long way to go.

    An empty booth for ever......

Second time here and yet again no one at the booth to take our order Bad business and poor service What a waist don't make a trip out cause you may be waisting your time! Seriously just watched six people walk away as this place loses business because nobody's there to take orders

    Thai Tea w/ Boba ($4+)

The wait time was rather long with only two people staffing. Was it worth the wait? Eh. My Thai tea had about five tapioca pearls since they ran out. The people after us wanted pearls too but they weren't planning to make any more at the time so yeah...very accommodating. My tea tastes pretty decent, but my overall experience wasn't that great. I hope over time they'll improve since they recently opened this past fall. Good Luck Woop! I'll be expecting more my next visit.

2 stars because it's hard to totally dislike any bubble tea but this kiosk almost did it. The tapioca pearls were not cooked properly they were sticky and not very firm at all they even had some crunchy spots in the middle. The traditional was very sweet as well! Be weary

My boyfriend and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon and were able to find street parking easily. The decor of the shop is cute, and ordering at the kiosk was simple; they have a pretty extensive menu so, whatever type of drink you're looking for, they probably have it! We got the coconut matcha and a mango matcha milk, both of which came out pretty quickly. I was unfortunately a little disappointed with the color of the matcha when our drinks came out; it was a very pale green, and didn't taste like they used high quality matcha powder to make our drinks. My boyfriend was also disappointed by the coconut matcha, which didn't taste as good as he expected. I thought my mango matcha, on the other hand, was delicious! The mango flavor was strong and sweet, but not overly so, and I enjoyed my drink! Overall, we'd definitely come back, but probably try different drinks since it seems like this shop doesn't specialize in matcha.

We also tried the vermicelli with shrimp and pork, which was just as impressive. It was loaded with fresh veggies like cucumber, carrots, lettuce, and bean sprouts, plus crunchy peanuts and an incredibly flavorful fish sauce that tied everything together. She offered us a free pastry, but no one was even in the mood to wait some more to get a free pastry. Then some of the drinks turned out way too sweet when we asked for 50 percent sweetened. Anyway, hard to come back after this experience. But would possibly like to give this business another chance.
