Thx Dr. Woolfson and staff!
Eric J.

So glad i did my Lasik surgery yesterday here! There is a reason so many doctors send their patients here for vision correction. I am in recovery now and the surgery was fast and easy to get through. The team was great and spent a lot of time explaining the process, surgery recovery and post-care. Would do it again but my vision seems to be perfect today!

I've recently retired from flying as a pilot and relocated back to Hendersonville. Carolina…read moreOphthalmology has been my off and on care provider for nearly 30 years but this was something new and unfamiliar to me: my upper eyelids were drooping quite a lot from age and squinting into too many sunrises, resulting in a limited field of vision. After going through a battery of tests, it was determined that I was a candidate for corrective surgery. I reviewed my options, called around and reviewed Dr Christina Choe's record, education and experience and decided, without reservation, to have her do the procedure. Dr Choe briefed me thoroughly and there were no surprises when the surgery went off without a hitch. Everyone's different, but I had no discomfort and only minimal inconvenience during recovery. Stitches were removed in a week and brought one minor hiccup when a portion of the incision opened up on one side, but that was addressed and corrected quickly and, again, without discomfort. If you investigate this procedure, listen to the briefing, expect some swelling/bruising/discoloration, follow instructions and follow up if you run into anything unforeseen.

This is absolutely ridiculous and will no longer go to them. I had an incident several months ago where I was having double vision. It took me 3 WEEKS to get an appointment. So I had to deal with double vision that long. They do not, obviously, care for their patients!

He sent letters announcing his retirement. Good! I would never go back to that office of…read moregossips, meddlers, and busybodies; and he talks out of school and violates HIPAA. He removed one of my natural lenses. I would never let him do the other one, He claimed it needed removing. 5 years later another ophthalmologist tells me it DIDN'T and still doesn't need it. He is obnoxious, abrasive, unethical. The morning I showed up for my cataract surgery, he was disturbed and upset. My surgery turned out to be a mess: It diminished the vision in that eye, and years later I am still dealing with flashing and blurred vision in that one abused eye. Two other patients who were scheduled that morning did not show up, the nurse told me. And Cahan was angry. I wish I hadn't shown up either. Those two must have learned something and gotten a warning I did not get.

The staff wasn't very welcoming, I could hear them talking about me from down the hall as I was waiting. Very unprofessional. They charged me an extra $50 for "contact fitting" and didn't explain why since I didn't actually get any contacts with them. After the appointment was finally over, I had to wait some more in the lobby to get my prescription. I had an appointment set up later in the week for my boyfriend that he went ahead and cancelled. Save yourself the hassle. Just avoid this practice.
