I love Woody's Home, and let me tell you why. My client had a home-automation system previously installed in his house by another company. For the most part, it was fine, but any time there was an issue, it would take the company forever to get back to us and to service the problem. Also, the way they left the cords and cables hanging in the back of the equipment rack was ATROCIOUS. Just a jumbled mess of cords. Needless to say, we needed to find another company. I was referred to Woody's, and several other companies, by the regional rep for the home-automation system. When I called Woody's and explained our situation to Jimmy, I finally heard what I'd been hoping to hear...someone who genuinely wanted to help and would troubleshoot the system with us as opposed to ripping everything out and starting over...which would have cost thousands and thousands of dollars! (the other places I called only wanted to do that or else they wouldn't take us on as a new client) What struck me about Jimmy was how earnest he sounded about wanting to help and how knowledgeable and passionate he is for everything A/V. After having him and his programming specialists Mark and Ryan come out and explain what they'd do, I knew that we'd be able to expect nothing less than amazing service and a proper organization of our system. When it came time to reorganize and tighten up the system, Francisco and Mario were AMAZING!!! They had their work cut out for them...I'm not exaggerating when I tell you how tangled and disorganized the cables and cords were! You couldn't tell which cable led to which piece of equipment unless you held onto the cord and followed it with your hands, all the while trying to keep the tangled mess of other cords away and not lose the cable you're following, in the tangled mess. It was just atrocious how the previous company "finished" the installation. A good lesson in getting what you pay for. Francisco and Mario went above and beyond in reorganizing the system. It's so beautiful now! The RCA cords are all color coded, as are the power cables, the network cables, etc. There's a beautiful box where the cables are all connected that has proper labels on them...no more exposed hole in the wall with cords spilling out willy nilly! Francisco and Mario were both very professional, respectful and courteous and made sure everything was thoroughly tested before leaving for the day. There was an art to what they did. Woody's Home is awesome. You can tell these guys only ever want to do an outstanding job and will go above and beyond to make sure all expectations are met. Aside from the amazing job they do with the technical aspects of it all, I truly valued how I was treated as a client and as a woman. There was no hint of anyone trying to patronize me or talk over my head when I didn't understand something. There was only respect and a genuine desire to help. Appears to be run and operated by very crass Asian-Americans that could actually care less about what people are saying about them in the Pasadena area. And if something isn't working it's a $200 charge to send someone out just to take a look. I'm sorry you are not happy we do not provide service for a 3.5 year old stereo system without a fee but we wish you all the best in finding a service provider who will happily service you otherwise. Did you even think to offer a solution? Let me give you an example: You could've offered to "Exchange" System out and per-rate the difference in price. You could have even exchanged the System and charge on-site visit. But NOTHING, just pure Arrogance. Unless you are selling faulty products Over Retails to reap huge profits, maybe a reason you can support your work. Because it you did, you would be liable by admission. The FOCAL Bird is known to be faulty. { I bought the white color power bird. I found my system was faulty, so exchange with the dealer, it took me 3 times to exchange, and 5 sets are all faulty, luckily the last set was good. I feel the quality of white power bird (at least for this batch) has some problem.the dealer has very good service though to help me to test out all.} Other Audio Video Dealers in the Pasadena area know of your business practice and it is Frowned upon. You might wanna wake up soon. People will NOT stand for this poor service without any regard for business ethics. All we want, to as your customer, it to SIMPLY ENJOY our Purchase. How can you help us? You have the answers. And Most High-End Audio Video Dealers offer Life Warranties on All Work that they do. We only want to enjoy our purchase. But we will NOT EVER Stand for Unethical Business Practice by a So-Called High-End Audio Video establishment that will Not stand behind its work. After talking with Gabby and Ryan who were there demonstrating their products and services there I knew I wanted to visit their showroom to learn how they might help me with my outdated systems which didn't talk to each other. I was planning on going in to see the hype about their electronic set ups but I received a phone call and was taking it outside while it was raining. Some Asian lady looks at me as she walks in as if I was a homeless person off lake and the 210. And asks is there something I can help you with while I was on the phone. Sitting on a beach outside the store. She obviously felt that she owns the bench and the area outside ofnthe store. The guy came and looked at our loft, wasted two hours of our time, promised a quote to be turned around in a week... Still nothing. What a joke! Stay away. Very disappointed by the lack product support. $9000 system was installed approx 1 1/2 years ago and has never worked properly. While system reliability and customer support was promised at installation and there was no indication that support would require payment of a monthly fee or min $250/visit for support, the company will not take responsibility for the faulty system. If additional costs for customer support had been disclosed, I would not have ordered the system. Buyer beware, WH does not take any responsibility for their systems or coordination with third party vendors who may take actions like software upgrades that are incompatible with the system as originally installed. read more

So... came across this place while waiting for my wife as she was shopping. Walked in to check it out. I have been having one bad experience after another trying to fix my home audio system. Just curious what they could do. The staff was very receptive, laid back and helpful. Curious to carry on a conversation and listen to me gripe about my audio system. They actually listened... By the time my wife found me and they started explaining things to her, I was sold. They came out to my place, no obligations and no pressure. From this, I got a practical and very reasonable proposal and estimate. It is refreshing to deal with people who know what they are doing and are not trying to take advantage. A few weeks later, and no calls to push me, I called them back and gave asked them to do part of the work in 1 week! I was not making things easy for them. And they came through. It's nice to get the cheapest deal for something, but it is priceless to get it stress free, know your not being take for a ride and delivering as promised. Excellent!! read more

Upon emailing him after two weeks (he said the quote will be ready in one), he said I am sorry but it's taking longer than I expected. That was May 27th. I used to shop at Smith & Hawken before it closed down. Their space on south lake has since then been empty for a long time. I'm always curious what's going inside. Now it's opened, it's completely different! This place looks beautiful and I can tell that they've put in a lot of thoughts! I was given a tour for some home automation, it was really nice. But I'm most interested in their outdoor patio that was left from old S&H, they renovated it with some water feature to display their outdoor TV and speakers. I'm considering to do that in my backyard so that I can have great BBQ parties! They mentioned that the speakers are directional so I won't disturb my neighbors at all. Sounds even better! read more

Before they were even open, we were referred to them to pre-wire our new house for lighting control and music everywhere in the house. They were really professional - first they gave us a proposal with some options to fit into our budget after a walk through at our house. Second, their project manager gave us a wire diagram of the entire house that we can keep. Third they worked with the general contractor on the construction schedule and did the installation on timely manner. I didn't have to worry about anything and I can control everything using my iPhone and iPad. It's so cool! They gave us a call to go into their new store for a tour, and it's beyond what we imagined! From the very beginning, Woody's did not try to oversell me. I needed a larger TV upgrade for my home theater. Ryan came to my house to look over what I had and to assess my current components. He said all was good and sent me suggestions for a larger TV and the different highlights from the various recommended brands. Once I decided on a TV, I received a quote on the TV and the install/hookup. It was reasonable and I was confident that everything would fit together seamlessly. With the expert install and synching of my system, I could not be happier. It is good to know that if I need anything adjusted or have any questions, Woody's is there for me. Since we have an older home, space is always an issue. I am always looking for ways to make my house more functional, with multi-purpose rooms. So glad that we got the Sony projector, invisible speakers, and motorized screen from Woody's Home. Now our den is also a mini theater! Best part is that the quality is amazing, and everything is "hidden" so the den still looks spacious without huge pieces of equipment.
