A friend needed a piece of glass 35" X 43" for a picture she purchased recently. The picture already had non-glass in it but she wanted a different type of glass because this was going in her dining room. Would not recommend! The person who answered the phone was rude and kept cutting me off. He asked for my address and unit when he was going to give me a quote over the phone. I would understand why that would be necessary if he was going to give a free estimate after visiting the property, but he wasn't. His questions seemed more interested in how much money he could get. When I told him I would like to get the quote before giving him my address, he hung up on me and never called back! read more

Armando gave me good guidance on glass and fittings which made the finishing touch on the bathroom look amazing. We contacted Cliff's glass for a simple broken window repair. At the initial install, the manufacture sent out the wrong framing (6 small frames instead of 8) for the window and Armando came out immediately after we reported the issue. He contacted his vendor that day, which was a Friday afternoon, and the new window was received and installed by Wednesday morning. In addition, he replaced the old screen at no charge. He took full responsibility for the mistake of his vendor, as he did originally order the correct window, and made sure we were completely satisfied with the job at the end. The owner Armando wasn't focussed when I ordered: - delivery took 3 days instead of 1 as he said it would, because he couldn't do what I asked for (should have told me right away) - he charged me 33% more than he said he would (my bad - should have gotten the estimate in writing) - he claims not, but I trust he did - the work is mediocre at best (rounded corners are uneven, holes are chipped). read more

This business provides outstanding customer service!! From the very first phone call to the window installation, I received quality service. Their work is exceptional, timely and the prices are much less than other companies in the surrounding area. I came home one night to find a 4 ft x 4 ft window shattered in my home. It happened to be the same window my dog jumps at when she hears the neighboring dog barking as it walks by by. My dog's head is like a brick so I knew exactly what had happened. The next morning I began making phone calls to see who can repair my window asap. It was midweek and I had to work but I knew my dog could not be left home alone with a window that she could now jump out of. Company after company after company told me they couldn't come for days, if not weeks. I was surprised that all these companies weren't available for such an urgent matter. The price quotes I had gotten had a pretty wide range. When I called Cliff's, thankfully Armando answered. Armando told me they were booked all day but since it was an urgent matter he was going to get to me on that day. He was the only person out of all those calls that was treating this matter urgently. He was also gave the lowest price quote. I was exceptionally thankful. Armando arrived with another gentleman. They brought a window that was much thicker than mine and didn't charge extra. Very unreliable. The shower door of my Master bedroom was shattered, so I called my landlord to see who he recommended. So he said he will call Cliff's Discount Glass. The next day they called me and said if they come to measure. I said OK and I asked how long it will take to check since I had a doctor appointment and I said if they can come after my MD appt. He abruptly say no and said might need longer time. I said fine, they can come another time. When he came, he looked at the shower doors and said that I will need to replace the whole door. I said fine and they said they might able to do it soon. Long story short after a month, I heard nothing and I texted him, and he said e lost the number of the condo manager. I give him the number again for approval. The waiting game started again for another couple of weeks when I contacted again and he claimed that the door that he had was not the correct measurement. OK, so go order the right one then. I also asked if they can also install couple of safety handle bars, since the shower is used by an elderly person. He said OK. Took another couple of weeks, so got inpatient so I called my landlord and ask for some that is more reliable. Lo and behold, without calling, they show up to fix the door. Since I really need to fix the door, I just let them fix it. The workmanship is OK but then they didn't install the bars. They said they need to measure first and then get the bars and installed them. I said fine. Following week I called him again and said next week. Well this week is that next week and no handle bars. So, get someone more reliable. Discount does not mean that you give such a crappy service. read more

I love his energy and "can do" attitude. What a find! He was relaxed and accommodating from the beginning. When I needed the door installed on short notice, it was no problem. When Cliff died, the business was taken over by Armondo (aka "Mondo"), who has run the business into the ground. Mondo is not a business man and is not even a good worker, but somehow, seemingly against his will, has assumed ownership as he works to pay off Cliff's family for the business. My store first started doing business with Cliff's Glass shortly after Cliff died. I have well over 14,000 pounds of glass in my place of business and needed a local business I could count on. When asked the hours of operation of Cliff's Glass, Mondo said, "We'll, we're open for Neil 5:00, but we stop work at 4:00 to drink a few beers at the end of the day." The office was a shambles, and the work area was filthy with dusty and broken glass, as well as haphazardly lain glass propped up against all sorts of places creating a dangerous environment. Our initial engagement was quick and satisfactory--a small job to cut glass shelves for a display case--but even then, Mondo seemed very disorganized, lackadaisical, and surprisingly unenthusiastic about landing a potentially lucrative business account. mover the next couple of years, that lackadaisical attitude continued each and every time I tried to patronize his business. When we had an emergency where one the storefront windows was smashed, Mondo was noncommittal on a response time and wouldn't quote a price--we were forced to engage another glass business who, although they were a little pricy, responded to our emergency immediately and professionally. On another occasion, when I needed six sliding glass doors cut for a 3 unit display case, Mondo, upon sending his men to measure, cut the doors too short. After leaving messages for him for over a week, I had to disassemble the cases and shim the tracks so that the doors would slide without falling out of the case on my customers. Because of Mondo's unreliability, indifference, and down right incompetence, we began using a number of different local glass companies, but I felt bad for Mondo and his struggling business, who was basically just a worker thrown in to the deep end of the business world. I wanted to help him out where I could so he might eventually learn how to swim. To that end, I sent customers his way (I have over 65 dealers in my store who often need glass) and even sent him a job for my neighbor who needed 4 sets of sliding glass patio doors replaced. Somehow he messed up that job too. Most recently, I wanted to have a custom piece of glass cut for an antique liquor cabinet I personally have in my home. I painstakingly measured and produced a cardboard template of the design. When I took the template to Cliff's Discount Glass, Mondo was not there, but the girl in the office was able to get him on the phone. I told Mondo what I wanted and that I had made a template. Mondo said he should be able to have it done within a couple of days. I left my number (yet again) and told him to call me with any questions that might arise. After almost two weeks, I had not heard a word from Mondo. I began leaving messages, both on the answering machine and with anyone who answered. When I got through to someone last Friday (two months after dropping off the template) they said they would give me Mondo's cell phone number, which he was sure to answer. Since I was driving at the time and couldn't write it down, the person I was speaking to said they would text me the number--they never did. Yesterday, I called again and surprisingly Mondo answered. He told me that the place he sends the job out to gave him a price of over $200 (his price), which he ASSUMED I wouldn't want to pay. I knew this wouldn't be a cheap piece of glass, and my budget on this project was $1000. We argued about why he hasn't returned my phone calls...I told him we could have had other options--I could have used regular glass instead of plate glass and doubled it up, or I could have supported the shelf in the middle, or I could have made the shelf in two sections, etc.. But in not even calling me, he didn't even give me any of those options. First he said that he couldn't find my number. Then, when I told him I had left my number every time I left a message with his people or his machine, AND that the girl wrote my number on the template, he told me he couldn't find my template. Then he argued that *I* didn't call *HIM* for almost 2 weeks after dropping off the template. Then he told me "What I have begun to tell my other customers is for them to call me." I told him I didn't care what he told his other customers, he should honor what he told me. Then, true to his predictable indifference, he said, "Well go somewhere else then." (Great customer service) hiI said I intend to and that I was coming to get my template. He said he would have to look for it. I said he should start looking because I was coming right now so I could take to another glass business before they closed at 5:00. They showed up on time, charge the price they quoted over the phone, and fixed the window quickly. The service was very friendly and he cleaned up after himself. I am so pleased with my experience at Cliff's Discount Glass. My window blew out last night from the wind, and I was anxious because I had to skip work to get it replaced and didn't know if it was a job that would take a day to asses and then another day to fix. i went into Cliff's this morning and was told they could have someone out there by one to do the job. I was relieved because that meant I wouldn't have to take any more time off work. Anyway, the repair man was on the spot on time, and did the job quickly. He even cleaned up the glass from my old window. The repair man was very friendly and the man who I originally spoke to in the shop was friendly and helpful as well. As a bonus they are very reasonably priced, when my window blew out i was expecting to have to pay a fortune to get it replaced but was very pleased at how affordable it was. I have an old (built around 1950) rental house in Monrovia w/ 3 sets of sliding glass doors. Over the years they have become impossible to open/close easily. I talked to a contractor who was there doing other work, and he said the doors needed replacement rollers but he couldn't get them. He said he tried everyplace but they were too old. Then I remember Cliff's Glass had replaced a broken window for me several years ago. They came, took out the old rollers, ordered new ones (along w/ new screens, which I needed) and installed the new rollers and screens within a week!
