I wanted to recreate an authentic-looking clipped-edge bathroom mirror based on a style I found in a 1920s trade catalog. I also had a custom design I wanted sandblasted onto the edges, to match the floor tile pattern. It was a two-step process; the mirror came out looking just perfect. And I'm a perfectionist who never thinks anything is perfect. Highly recommend this business. They will realize your design and never tell you "that's not possible." It's a dream factory! read more

Needed to replace our small garage windows with custom sizing. Martin and his team were super helpful and took the time to measure the frames and suggested different options for us. It was a super fast turnaround time and the glass is of great quality. read more

They must be very very busy. I called about replacing a shower enclosure on Tuesday. They asked me to take pictures email them rough measurements, which I did. Never heard back. Reached out to a couple other companies on Thursday. They both came by this morning. Both submitted their bids tonight. If you don't have time for new clients, just say so. Just say, we can't do this work for you right now. Just pass. That is perfectly fine. read more

Martin at the Glass House is outstanding! He was extremely helpful on the phone to help us measure our furniture properly and gave us a free estimate. He completed the work in days and assisted us to pack the finished glass in our SUV for transport home. He really knows his business and gave us great value for the money. read more

Dont want to feel good after a purchase? Then you are in luck, this place has the worst customer service POSSIBLE! Feel like getting shit talked to you while trying to fix your glass project problem? Then you you came to the right spot! The manager Martin is a real piece of SHIT with that horrible attitude towards anyone that doesn't align with his stupid views, F'ing A**H***! Feel like listening to someone cuss out someone else in the back while you are trying to order some new glass? Then this is your spot! The management of the place dont give a shit if you are in the room while the manager has a melt down! Want to have a nice experience ordering glass? Need a shower glass door? Dont call them since they are " NOT INTERESTED". I would rate this place a 10/10 for being the worst shop in town. Someone should really report the manager to the city for his horrible customer service skills and bad attitude. Feel bad for the owner, but he might be just as dumb as the other manager since he still has him on board. I will never refer this place to anyone! read more

World's Last Experts in home glass and framing. In this world of generic totality and astroturf deep level of professionalism at all levels, you find at best, jack-of-all trades quality people. Not at the Glass House, these guys are true Old School style experts. They know their stuff and aren't afraid to share their knowledge with you. If you live in a hundred year old home like thousands of us do in Pasadena/Altadena, you can't find a better resource with regard to your antique windows than here. What's more, they simply have the best prices for glass and even mounting services. There used to be a lot of hardware specialty stores in Pasadena where you could find guys like these with such a wealth of knowledge in specialized areas. Now the Glass House stands alone. Viva La Glass House! read more

Martin has been my go to glass/window repair guy for years. He is nice, responsive and an expert in his field. He has responded to emergency broken window glass repairs the day after a storm, has repaired numerous windows I thought were irreparable, and has custom made glass tops for tables for me. He has consistently delivered quality work and product at reasonable prices. He can quickly assess the issue and know how to resolve it and also know where to order the parts. He will tell me honestly if he can or cannot fix something and he does not try to upsell me which gives me peace of mind. read more

My grandma went into the "The Glass House" about a month ago. She came home complaining that she was met by a very rude man. She doesn't know anything about glass so she was asking questions. It seemed like that bothered him a lot. Upon reading previous reviews, this person needs better training or just be fired. read more

Amazing staff. Was there about a month ago and the young gentleman was very helpful and professional.

I needed a glass table top : Martin the owner is pleasant , witty and super professional ! He asked me to get a precise drawing of the table for dimensions and showed me how to do it! With this on hand, he perfectly hand cut the glass that fitted perfectly . All this with a smile and a reasonable price! Well done, I will come back for any mirror or glass need and I strongly recommend the glass house! read more

Martin was super nice and clearly very knowledgeable about glass. He replaced the window in the front door of our house (which our dog had scratched). He quickly provided an estimate via email based on my rough measurements, came to the house and measured more accurately and then installed the glass three days later. He matched the beveled edge from the previous window - it looks amazing. read more

Stay away from this shop if you're a colored person!!! I am a disabled colored woman whom went in to the shop to get glass with my service dog. The person (white male, redneck) got so mad to see me and my dog that he got really rude to us, yelled at us for walking in. I decided to just walk out of the shop. Went to another place with much better personnel. I haven't received such discriminatory encounter in Pasadena nor anywhere in LA before! I am urging you and others to not to give business to such rude and discriminatory place. We really had enough of this shit! read more

I don't recommend working with this company. I'd give them zero stars if I could... Instead call Highland Park Glass Co. I called this business regarding a Window glass replacement, and Glass House Guy answered the phone saying he's busy, and to send him an email. So I sent the email Monday, and it's been 4 days. The guy never followed up. Also who answers the phone for a potential customer stating there in the middle of something else. They should have just sent me to voicemail and called back. Very rude! However, my Window was taken care of right away the same night, I called Highland Park Glass Co. They were so polite and helpful! If you need someone who's quick and responsive go else where. If your going to wait on them you might as well get on YouTube and fix the problem yourself !!! read more

Went in here to get a custom mirror and ran into Martin. Here's where the problem starts. His off putting stuck up demeanor threw me off out of the gate. He tried to convince me that the space I measured and needed filled by a mirror was wrong. I come from a contracting background and am pretty sure I can read a tape measure. Completely unprofessional and unappreciated. Will be going elsewhere where professionalism is prioritized. read more

I had a great experience at The Glass House in Pasadena. I bought a coffee table with glass top at a vintage store and broke the top in transit. I didn't want to pay a ton, but loved the table. I call Glass House and Martin told me to email in the dimensions, so I did. I didn't hear back for a few days, and went to another glass place nearby, where they quoted me $430. I was about to pay when Martin emailed saying they could do it for $150. I dropped the glass off and it was ready in 4 days. I appreciated their honesty - and if you give them a moment to get you an estimate, you will be very happy with the work and price. My new table top is perfect, and it was a tricky shape! read more

Martin and his team were awesome. I bought a custom cut piece and it turned out perfect. Throughout the whole process he was responsive and did business the right way. I am a customer for the long haul! read more

I recently worked with Martin at The Glass House. We had a very specific custom order that they were able to execute perfectly. Glass is hard. Martin helped me double check my measurements and asked a ton of questions to make sure we didn't make any mistakes in the process. In the end, everything was perfectly cut and delivered. I would absolutely recommend them and of course work with them again. read more

Disappointing Experience with The Glass House I hired The Glass House to install a glass shower enclosure in my new home, and initially, everything seemed fine. Fast forward five years, and the heavy glass door developed an issue due to a broken bracket. My husband contacted Martin to explain the problem, and we requested a technician to assess the situation. After weeks of waiting, Jay finally came out to inspect the door and confirmed the bracket was indeed broken. He said he would order the part and come back to fix it. Months passed with no follow-up despite several calls and emails. Eventually, my husband managed to schedule an appointment with Jay. When he arrived, he removed the glass door, left screws and parts across on the bathroom counter, and placed the door in the hallway. He explained the bracket didn't match and said he'd return the next day with the correct part. That was three months ago. The door is still sitting in my hallway, and we haven't heard a word from Jay. When I called Martin again to request service, he claimed the issue was that we didn't like the part because it didn't match -- which was never the case. He said he'd pass along the message to Jay, but at this point, I don't expect to hear from him again. I've now called a different company in the hopes that they can fix the mess The Glass House left behind. I would not recommend this business to anyone looking for reliable service or follow-through. read more

I have been going to the Glass House for years (every wind storm) bringing in my hinged 1921 craftsmen windows for repair. I don't know about going out to the house, but when I bring them in I have great service, a fair price and excellent workmanship. When I do my own repairs, I bring in the measurements and typically have it cut right then and there, fair price. The putty I purchase at Glass House is the best there is. With my experience, I would definitely recommend. read more

A+ Business. Glass House has installed many mirrors throughout our home over the last 15 years...on closet doors, bathroom walls, an entire wall in our home gym, etc. Each installation has been absolutely perfect. Requested replacement of glass pane in door, and was told they would come out, measure, mark the glass to show measured, cut glass and schedule installation. Needed some mirrors quickly for my new salon space, so I reached out to the glass house and they matched them up perfectly to a few other mirrors that I already had. The owner was super nice. Really helpful and was able to have it done in about a week. He also came out with a helper and hung them all perfect! Def give this place 5 stars. Lastly wanted to mention that we were moving a small fridge up a few stairs while he was hanging our mirrors and even offered to help us with that. Like seriously, such a stand up dude! Thank YOU! read more

The Glass House is no longer owned by the original owners. It is not the same business and certainly not the same people running it. I am considering a call to the Pasadena Police with regard to their behavior but I am not certain that I have the time to pursue. After all, what they stole from my home was not what they thought it was. It was an attractive shallow bowl at 15"x 8" and it appeared to be Silver. What was not known by the people stealing it was that it was brass that was very poorly silver plated. Original cost under $100.00. However, I did get that one portion of my work done for, essentially, free. Stay away from these people. read more

The Glass House is the best. Im a Contractor and have been coming here for over 20 years for window glass, tempered glass, mirror, ect. They also did the large mirrors in my wife's Salon in Pasadena. They have a fast turnaround and sometimes will cut the glass for me while Im in the shop. Ive also referred clients to them for shower door installs with rave reviews. Im shocked to see negative reviews on here. Im thinking those folks must be unreasonable or leaving something out because Martin and his guys have given me friendly, professional and reasonable prices for over 20 years. read more

I've gone to the glass house a handful of times but usually the wait is extraordinarily long and I don't always have the kind of glass that I need in stock. I'm also found that Cliff's Discount Glass tends to be the best better on prices and customer service read more

The polarizing reviews here are fascinating to me. Put me in the positive side. The Glass House is local to me. Dropped by during a walk to get a quote on mirror glass for the back of the 1927 bathroom door of my home. Martin gave me a very fair quote not merely for the mirror cut to size to the door's inset (my original intent), but for professionally installing it too. Made arrangements to bring the door in (saving me money), brought it in. He kindly was able to work with my schedule, able to get the job done sooner than originally promised. Addressing some of the negative reviews, i personally found Martin friendly and easy to work with. There literally could not have been anything better about my experience unless we lived in a parallel fantasy universe where everything was free. Should i need non-automotive glass-related work in the future, my first stop will be The Glass House. read more

I was dealing with a nit-picky appraiser and a really short deadline to fix a cracked window. Called and talked to the owner, who told me they were really busy but was really helpful and got someone out within 2 days. Mike showed up, wore a mask and gloves, was very knowledgable and polite. He took care of everything quickly and easily, so efficiently he was done before I knew it. He pointed out something I hadn't even noticed. All for a very reasonable price. Their products and original service were very good, but god forbid you should need any follow up on a problem you may have with your new shower door. Ours keeps mysteriously leaking and causing water damage to the plaster of our wall. Yes, they came out to try to solve the problem and we were told they'd be back "soon" to try a few trouble-shooting add-ons to hopefully fix our situation. Two months have passed without a peep so I called a week ago to get an update and left a message with the guy who answered the phone -- I was told they'd get back to me " right away." Five days went by without a call back, so I called again. That time I was told that someone would probably come the next day and deal with it. That next day came and went -- no one came, no one called. I waited two more days and then called again to inquire on the status of our repairs. I finally spoke to Jay himself (the man who had come to our house originally). Don't get me wrong -- he was very helpful and considerate before, but not this time. I was told twice that "his life doesn't revolve around my shower." When I reminded him that it had been over two months, HE was the one giving me attitude -- as if this were somehow my fault and that, as a paying customer, somehow *I* was the one who was being unreasonable or pushy asking for an update and, if nothing else, a return phone call to mine. When I told him I didn't appreciate being spoken to that way, I was told that he installs "thousands of shower doors and so mine is not special," and when I asked when I could hear back from him next, he again just said "soon." I tried to narrow that down to hopefully at least this week, but he was silent. I hope we will ever get our problem fixed, but I will not patron this company again, mainly because of the disrespect I received today. read more
