Beautiful collections. Multiple pieces I would enjoy having in my home in a visually pleasing and relaxing setting. Worth a stop.

He had great suggestions and paced our courses well. We started with the wedge salad which was way better than the traditional wedge salad of bygone days. Everything was so fresh and the bacon was delicious. Baby lamb chops were cooked perfectly. And the sauce was yummy. Shrimp and grits were good. Halibut with lemon risotto was great too. We split everything so we'd get to taste it all. And we topped off the meal with a slice of their carrot cake. Moist cake with excellent cream cheese frosting elevated by a caramel swirl and birthday message!

We were seated with a nice view and our waitress was so so nice, she told us all the specials and talked us into some oyster shots - which were surprisingly outstanding. The drink I got was using a pea infused vodka which was unusually refreshing and I mean, look at that presentation For the food, whitefish dip was also unusually good. The best thing was the steak with potatoes and carrots. The other star of the show was the sweet potato. I had high hopes for the pasta but unfortunately was a little let down , I liked other things more than this entree. Overall, I was to come back to this place I liked it so much. Ambiance, food and service all on point.

They gave me a key with a huge wooden keychain so it would be hard to lose the key. Made it hard to walk around with. Later on after I was getting settled I went back down to the desk to ask 2 simple questions and the person at the desk didn't know the answers to my questions which was a little weird. Maybe a new staff member for the summer. The room had that quaint, countryside feel. It does have a musky scent when you first walk into the room. Once you're in there for a couple of mins you don't notice it anymore. Everything was very clean with the exception of the tub in the bathroom that had some hairs left behind by the former guest and some microscopic bugs by the sink. It was great having a full fridge and microwave which I used both. No stove or oven so keep that in mind. The temp in the room was great and can be changed whenever you want. The bathroom has small vials of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bath/body gel - keep that in mind cause I'm always used to hotels having a huge refillable container of all those products. The TV is a regular tv with local and national channels. No logging into different streaming platforms if that's your thing. The Pool - spent a little amount of time there. The temp of the heated pool was great. Towels are available at the pool. The recliners aren't the most comfortable for a position to read but I made do. Breakfast - I went to the little nook in the morning for breakfast but only got a coffee and hard boiled eggs once. They had cereal, and some other items. I'm not much of a breakfast person. Parking - lots of parking. You'll register your car with the front desk. The only comment on this is that they need desperately to redo the lines in the parking lot cause it was hard to tell if they were specific spaces at all. Location - I think the location is perfect to hop down to Fish Creek or another neighboring bay city. It was central to everything I felt and Fish Creek ended up being one of my fav places to hang out and walk around. So many shops and restaurants.

We had a queen size bed. There was also a small fireplace (gas) and a whirlpool tub. Cute patio , that faces the bay. The view is slightly obscured by trees and marsh grasses. The usual amenities. Mini fridge, one cup coffee pot and hair dryer. Unfortunately, we found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable. It was like laying on the floor. The pillows were down, but the kind that flattened and stay flat. The water in the shower is just gross. It left you feeling slimy. Never clean. My hair was a giant knot, no matter how much conditioner I used. Unfortunate. There is no microwave in the room. However , there is one by the coffee bar in the lobby. They also had a mini fridge with juices and flavored water. They did not offer water or ice anywhere. This was a huge inconvenience. We drink a lot of water and ice would have been nice. We did end up buying a case of water. As cute as the Blacksmith inn is, I would not go back. If you're not getting a good nights sleep it really affects your vacation. And not feeling clean after showering ick

They have a great location atop a hill on main thoroughfare Highway 42, and a short 5 minute walk away from the heart of Sister Bay's vibrant commercial strip.  They are also a relative good value and get bonus points for having an English theme.  Having had many memorable and pleasant stays in the UK, any place that takes me back is a plus, and this place did that to a degree.   The owner and innkeeper Mike was at the desk when we arrived.  He's my kind of guy - a friendly Brit with a sense of humor.  When I said we had a party of 2 for 1 night, he dryly replied "Oh, but we have you for a party of 1 for 2 nights". As I rolled my eyes, he broke out into a chuckle, ha.  He's a native of Portsmouth, England and has owned and run this nice property for 25 years.  The 2-story property is homey, inn-like and not hotel-like, nicely and quaintly decorated in English style, and has a bar and several cozy sitting areas.  There's a 24 hour complimentary bean grinding coffee machine and the bar works on a self service guest honor system.  A swimming pool is also available in the back for those interested.  The included breakfast is comprised of a large and delicious selection, and their particularly delicious almond Danish pastry was more pie like and quite distinctive.  Each room has a name (ours was #104, the Winchester) and a small patio and it was comfortably laid out.   I really want to give this place 5 stars particularly for its location and value and theme but will have to hold back to 4 stars.   The reasons being that I didn't get a great sleep because 1) the pillows were too spongy and soft for me, 2) the king bed was a bit soft and bouncy, and 3) the wall A/C was quite loud when it kicked on briefly and frequently.    We may be back someday during the quieter heating season and try a different room (i.e., bed) also.  I may also start bringing my own pillows as my pillow complaint is not uncommon and not aimed just at the Inn here.  I really do like this place and the owner.
