Alas, I just got to visit this place and take a little tour. Apparently, Lawrence University students can retreat here when they want, which is fortunate for them. This is a sanctuary where people can find quiet and contemplation. The general public can also sign up to take classes and seminars, and spend the weekend at Bjorklunden in what they call a "thought-provoking vacation." Located on the grounds of Bjorklunden is Boyton Chapel, a small wooden structure built in a late 12th-century Norwegian style. If you get a chance to peek inside, you should -- it's beautiful, with biblical paintings on every wall and hand-carved wooden pews. When I visited, it was snowing and everything looked white and beautiful. I imagine the area is equally as beautiful when everything is green, but there's something about being here when things are cold and sparkling that make it extra special.

This was an absolutely perfect wedding venue for us! We are Lawrence University alumni and loved…read moreattending Bjorklunden as students for weekend trips with clubs, classes, and teams. Coming back to get married in this place that was special to both of us made our day that much better. The view and overall decor of the grounds and lodge was idyllic. We loved having complete access to the facility and our guests enjoyed having accomodations right at the site.

We just visited Stone's Throw and had a great experience!…read more We intended to just have a glass of wine but decided to have the charcuterie board. The meats and cheeses all were delicious. Our party of 3 all had different wines, I had a Cabernet and it was one of the most delicious wines I've had in recent memory. I also tried a sparkling wine my wife was having and the essence of almond made it even better. In addition the setting outside was very relaxing. They have some oak casks in a display surrounded by flowers and grasses, so you are surrounded by nature along with music that enhances the atmosphere. Our server did a great job taking care of us. We were able to really enjoy the service and relax. We definitely will be returning on our next visit to Door County!

We enjoyed visiting Stone's Throw Winery, and I want to start by saying that our wine host,…read moreChristina, was friendly, bubbly, and made us feel very welcome. She did a wonderful job guiding us through the tasting and was one of the highlights of our visit. However, I was surprised that there weren't any plain crackers, bread, or even pretzels available to cleanse our palates between tastings. After sampling several wines, the flavors begin to blend together, making it difficult to fully appreciate each wine on its own. I understand not every winery provides palate cleansers, but many do, and it's a simple touch that really enhances the tasting experience. Even plain crackers or slices of bread would make a noticeable difference. Despite that, we enjoyed the wines enough that we joined the wine club and spent over $400 on wine before leaving. That alone should show how much we liked what Stone's Throw has to offer. Because of that, I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it's intended--not as criticism for the sake of criticizing, but as a suggestion from customers who supported the winery and would love to see an already enjoyable experience become even better.
